This is our fifth year at Mosaic Gymnastics, and we absolutely love it here. From the facility to the coaches and the team culture, everything has exceeded our expectations. The gym is always kept clean and well-maintained. At first glance, the carpet might not look particularly special, but it's actually one of the best I've ever seen. After experiencing so many gymnastics carpets at competitions across the country, I can confidently say the one here is superb. It's soft, springy, and helps protect knees and joints, which is so important for young athletes. Coaches keep the carpet fresh and odor-free--something you won't find in most gyms Coach Tatiana is an exceptional coach who truly understands what it means to develop athletes. She is tough in all the right ways, teaching kids the value of hard work, focus, and self-discipline. My daughter has learned not only skills in the gym but also life lessons about handling both failure and success--because success can sometimes be harder for kids to navigate than failure. Along the way, we've made mistakes, learned from them, and grown stronger together. That resilience is exactly what Mosaic instills. Coach Hyejin is another incredible asset to the club. She may be young, but she is highly experienced and has a gift for motivating kids. She is also a true master of choreography. She has a magic touch in creating routines that perfectly match each athlete's music, personality, and capabilities, making every performance shine. Another thing that makes Mosaic special is the strong community among the girls. They train hard together, cheer each other on at competitions, and form genuine friendships outside of school. The older girls are fantastic role models for the younger ones, and I feel grateful that my daughter is surrounded by such a positive and supportive group of peers. On top of all this, Coach Tatiana works hard to keep the cost affordable for families, which is rare in such a competitive sport. Three years ago, we joined Mosaic Gymnastics, and it has been an very enriching experience. Our daughter has grown both as an athlete and as a person--developing discipline, a strong sense of commitment, and a true love for the sport. Coaches Tatiana and Hyejin have inspired the gymnasts to give their best and to take pride in themselves and in the gym. I don't know the staff member's name for sure (I think it's Tatiana) but I believe she's the oldest of the staff there, and she is extremely impersonal--just cold and rude. Some interpersonal skills would go a long way to retaining clients--for all the staff, actually. Yes, there is a bit of a cultural difference that they apparently have not learned yet. It is also extremely frustrating that we, as parents, can't watch our children participate. We must wait outside the building due to fire codes. read more

About a year ago I was here on Yelp, trying to find a good gymnastics class for my daughter Isabella. I did a typical search for "gymnastics near me" and came across "Mosaic Gymnastics". I didn't really know what to expect, so I thought that we could just try it out for a couple of classes and see if she liked it. From the first day I was really impressed. Tatiana is a really great coach, who is very knowledgeable, and works very well with the girls. She is also very good about giving on the spot corrections, which tells me she is paying attention to the girls, and she's making sure they are doing the right technique. My daughter has taken classes here for a year now, and she really loves it. I would highly recommend to anyone. read more

My 5 year old daughter absolutely LOVES this class. She looks forward to it so much we signed up for 2x a week for our next session. Here are my thoughts for those considering signing up: - The instructors are very good, very skilled, and are very hands on in correcting the girls and helping them to understand the movements. I have watched while each child gets individual attention and opportunity to practice as the class sizes are small. - Even though it is definitely appropriate for young kids, it's not really an intro to gymnastics type class and I found it helpful that my daughter had some gymnastics experience prior. once you know your kid enjoys gymnastics and wants to improve, then come here and they will. - The instructors do not waste your time, they are prompt in starting and ending and the provide efficient yet relevant warm ups for kids. - The instructors are bilingual and i do not see any preference for language as they speak both Russian and English very fluently. I had my daughter in the fairfax county program from age 2-4 and she loved that but it was very casual and not really appropriate much beyond the very young age. Since she started with Mosaic Gymnastics, her passion for gymnastics has grown and her skills have increased exponentially. My only suggestions would be 1) maybe a quick intro with the parents at the first day of new sessions to acquaint them with what is to be expected of the students and answer any questions (or maybe a recap at the end on how the child has improved or what they should work on)-- however i will say they just did a great free weekend class with the parents to show them what the kids learn and experience the class and i thought it was a BLAST, and 2) it would be nice if payments could be made through the website. However, bringing a check in once every couple months is not a big deal and it's worth it for such a great class. *Note the first class is free to try and they don't pressure you at all into purchasing. I think this is a great program for kids who have a love for gymnastics and a desire to grow their skill set. The teachers are serious about gymnastics but still positive and pleasant. I think it's a great approach they have to the sport and look forward to many years with them. read more

I went in for a trial for both my girls 4yr and 6yr. First time in gymnastics for them so we didnt know what to expect. I ask the teacher who appeared to have an attitude about socks. Are they supposed to have socks on? The teacher said yes, i said oh, i didnt see it on the site. She mentioned it was Everywhere on the site. (Strike one) I proceeded to ask her to show me where on the site. Which was located in one spot of their poorly designed website under the class schedule tab. (Bad UX).Back track to when i called to inquire about the class someone picked up the phone with a simple hello. No "thanks for calling mosiac gymnastics", just hello. I thought i reached the wrong number. Anyway, about the class. We received no intro, had no idea what the teachers name was..i had to ask 10 minutes into the class and found out her name was Ms.Tatiana. My 4yr old was obviously nervous as a 1st timer. Ms. Tatiana paid no attention to her, continuously let her sit outside of the circle while she worked one on one with the other kids. She was NOT welcoming at ALL. Happy to say it was a trial and i certainly won't be wasting my money on this joke of a business. read more

Parents beware. My daughter attended this place for few weeks and already showed signs that she was not happy with this school. After a month of school, she finally told me that the instructor (owner) would yell in angry tone to her and other students. I realize young children can exaggerate and misunderstand things but other parents have come out to express similar situations. I took it upon myself and called the owner. When I told her what I heard from my daughter and from other parents her reply was "so what?" She claimed that she would yell at the students if they are not able to follow instructions. However, she was surprised to hear about this from my daughter. I understand that kids needs good structure and discipline. However, my daughter (6yrs) old who is attending this school for exercise should not be afraid to attend class. If the instructor has a problem with a child, I would expect her to notify the parents. I should have check their reviews before my daughter enrolled with this school. I withdrew my daughter from this school. read more

As the other moms have mentioned, this is not a welcoming area for both parents of children. We also had a similar experience as someone in the previous reviews. We went in for a free trial, we had NO IDEA what the teachers name was, didn't even know til the end of the class this ladies name was Tatiana, and on top of that, one of her students came in late while my daughter was in the free trail class and she humiliated that student. Her words exactly: "The usual suspect... I don't know girls, is it a disease to be late?" I was furious after that and decided hell no this is not the place for my child. What if that late student were my daughter??? Would I want someone humiliating and putting her down for coming in late? Of course not! That's not their fault to begin with, it's the parents fault, so the children shouldn't suffer the consequences for it. Also everyone going here is Russian. All the women there are tough loved Russian women including the teacher. Teacher started speaking Russian to all the girls without acknowledging my daughter (latino), a Asian girl, and two black girls. I think the class should be taught in a way that everyone can understand. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!! Especially if your child needs more one on one attention from an instructor. read more

My daughters (5yo and 8yo) both love Ms. Tatiana's classes. Both have been welcome to their respective classes and asked to come twice a week. Both of them get individual attention in every class!! Tatiana makes sure every child does. Ms. Tatiana is strict, but as my older daughter put it: "She has a sense of humor, so her classes are fun." The teacher prefers that children come to class on time and if being late starts becoming a habit, she will mention it to me. Ms. Tatiana wants children to come prepared to listen and learn in class and that has been important to us as it helps build healthy habits early and prevents injuries. Most importantly, my daughters learn so many different skills in this class, they develop their coordination and flexibility, build strength. Really bad experience with Ms. Tatiana. If you do not speak Russian do not even attempt this place. Your child will sit on the sidelines while she is providing individual instructions to other girls. Beside that her Customer Service skills are non-existent. She might be good Gymnast herself and try to instill strong discipline, but 5 yr old class is supposed to form positive relationship with the sport and not treat girls like their failing in everything. My daughter dreaded going there every single time because of her. On top of all she made inappropriate comments belittling children in parent's eyes few times that I am aware of - including my child. After three full sessions with this place (I know, too much), I finally had it enough. I will drive further so that my child can enjoy her class. read more
