Happy spooky szn! It's the sweater weather, pumpkin spice latte, and orange leaf energy for me. Not to be that basic fall b*tch the second it feels somewhat cold, but too bad I am. When it comes to pumpkin patches, I'll eat that up. It's time to dress up and show up. The plan was to find some cute phat pumpkins to do the Megan Thee Stalion pumpkin head challenge (look it up iykyk). For the longest time we couldn't find any that weren't moldy/big enough. The one I found ended up being 10 bucks ($0.48 a pound), support local. They have a great selection of house made sauces and, of course, the kettle corn. This was a nice refresher from the go-to Carpinito Brother. Not as big and not as crowded. The pumpkin patch itself didn't really match up, but that vibes were still cozy. Overall, would recommend!

Today my Niece, friend and I ventured out to Mosby's. I have been to many pumpkin patches that had many bells and whistles. This was a quaint little one that was able to give my niece exactly what she wanted, a pumpkin patch. It was pouring rain and she ( a 4 year old) never complained about being wet. In fact she had so much fun the smile never left. The man who worked there was so kind he helped us through all our decisions and at the end paid it forward with kindness.

After searching around for several Pumpkin patches in the local area that are (Dog Friendly), I came across Mosby Farms in Auburn, WA, right off of HWY 18. After arriving it looked like many other local's had the same great idea. As most of us have 4 legged furry family members, this was a must for me in my decision. The pumpkin choice was out of this world, and that they grow all their own pumpkins, was even more intriguing. They had loads of Food Vendors, Kettle Corn, Roasted Corn on the Cob and loads of activities for everyone in the family. After reading a few of the post on yelp I was slightly surprised. The staff was phenomenal at the patch and the hours of operations were considerably better than most patch's as closing time is normally 5:30pm. Dusk can mean many things in the Great PNW, from 5:45pm, dusk can hit within seconds and becomes pitch dark by 6:15pm. My opinion considering safety, would be to close your patch when you feel it's time to close. If you're looking for something timeless and unforgettable, visit Mosby's Pumpkin Patch. Otherwise there are plenty of other generic patches that are better suited for your personal delinquency. For me, I will visit Mosbys Pumpkin Patch for years to come!

Why does Mosby Farms have a sticker on their pumpkins from Fewel Farms?

No fresh produce on the day we went, but the pumpkin patch and corn maze were very well maintained and enjoyable. Decent prices too.

The property is large, spacious, and very well maintained. There were also great food options on site, like roasted corn, apple cider donuts, and a small coffee shop. The farm is easy to find. Just follow the directions to the Puyallup stand and the U-pick field is right across the street. There's an outhouse behind the stand if you need a restroom. Otherwise, head straight to the U-pick area, where there's plenty of parking. The check-in is at a small white tent, where they provide cardboard boxes for picking. I went on a Saturday morning. They opened at 9 AM and charged $4.10 per pound. What I really like about this farm is how organized it is. Staff will direct you to a specific row of plants, and you'll use a flag to mark where you stopped picking. It was easy to find plenty of ripe strawberries and we filled two boxes quickly. It's hard to judge the weight by sight, but each box was probably about 7.5 pounds, since the total came to around $60. Two key tips: 1. Check their Facebook page for up-to-date hours and availability, since they change with the weather. 2. Bring cash or a personal check because they don't accept credit cards.

Unfortunately, this patch has become overly popular, and thus, over crowded and over commercialized. This year's visit we found parking to be virtually impossible. Staff harried. Pumpkin selection disappointing. Food trucks almost completely generic. And, prices - for everything - borderline offensive. It should be noted that there are still some beautiful decorations and photo ops throughout the property. And, the homemade fudge was still a highlight. But, even those things were a bit tainted by the hordes of people and aforementioned prices. If we visit next year, we will definitely try to choose a time that is not as busy - so we can really enjoy what this patch once offered us - a fun, relaxed day of pumpkin hunting and classic treats. Pro-Tip: Avoid this patch on weekend afternoons in October, unless you (and your group) have an abundance of time and patience.

Finding the farm was pretty easy and there is plenty of parking. I believe we got a little bit of a discounted group rate for our tickets, but even without the discount it's a fair price for all that is offered here. Our field trip guide was great (and patient) with a group of rambunctious 4/5 year olds. We were able to tour the whole farm and ended with a fun educational moment featuring floating pumpkins. The kids had a blast here - hard not to, as this patch is mostly just for kids! There's a really fun playground area with lots to do. Outside of that there are also animals to see and pet - they even took out some kittens for the kids to pet (and they're up for adoption!) There's also an indoor play spot with a corn pit, slide, excavation station, etc. And of course they have wagon rides around the patch which was a hit! They also have a little food stand with concession type food that smelled good, along with pies, donuts, and a coffee stand. Overall this was a great first trip here and we would definitely return with the family considering how kid-friendly it is!
