My Husqvarna MZ-61 Zero-Turn Mower blew it's drive belt. To be honest, we normally have that mower serviced/repaired by another company - PSR. But, after unsuccessfully trying to contact them and a drive-by their location, I conclude they're out-of-business. Back when we lived in Auburn, several years ago, Agrishop was our go-to. So we called upon them again for this repair. Luckily, they fit us in, quickly picked the machine, did the repair with a full service and we had it back a few days later - and for a very competitive price! I had specified that all belts should be replaced; but, the tech found the deck belt to be brand new and recommended against replacing it - he saved me $$! And let me say this: every person we talked to, including the very fine gentleman who picked up and delivered the machine, were all very professional, kind, considerate and helpful. Bought a Zero Turn Lawnmower from them a few years ago. Lost a critical bolt for the mower. Went in the other day, told them they were the ones I bought my mower from, and asked for help. From the get go , the parts counter guy appeared irritated that I was asking him to help identify the part. There were NO other customers in line, or really even in the store and there were AT LEAST 3-4 employees hanging out in that area. The parts counter guy ended up telling me I was bothering him and that if I wasn't going to buy anything I should move on. #What the actual F? Sorry to bother you man... What a great neighborhood hardware store. I drove up from Tacoma. ***GREAT ENVIRONMENT. The parking lot is very clean. The store is clean, organized, and well lite. ***GREAT SERVICE. The employees are very knowledgeable and the store has great selections (for weed-wackers). I spend hours on the internet studying, and thought I knew what I wanted, but the store experts were able to provide me a better piece of equipment, with options that exceeded my expectations. The staff explained the details of my purchase hardware so that I was able get back to work with full knowledge of the equipment. ***CARING EMPLOYEES. The store employees communicate on head sets as your shop, and send expert to each section to help you. It was like having my very own personal shopper. This really speed up my time in the store. My husband and 5 yr old child went in to purchase 2 bottles of oil. Paid, then walked around the store for a few minutes. As my husband proceeded to the door he hear a lady say over the walkie that a man was about to walk out with 2 items and no receipt however she never not once asked him for a receipt. As he continued out the door he continuously hears the staff talking about him over the walkie. By the time he gets to the door he's frustrated and pissed and just want to get out of there. A lady followed him out of the store and begin yelling at him that he didn't pay and they were going to call the police. My husband proceeded to tell her call the police do what she needs to do and also told her go ask the employee if he cashed him out. However, she cotinued to yell and make a scene that he didn't pay and stated the cashier on the other end stated my husband did not pay. By this time 6 employees are swarmed around my husband and child. Of course by this point my husband is livid. Places our child in the car and tells the manager to call the police and let's them know he'll wait. Another guys come out and says,: oh he paid. After a female employee tells my husband that he is a Mexican thief and a shitty father causing a scene in front of his child all the employee gather in a circle as if they were the victims and walk inside. No apology! Nothing! My husband then comes home and tells me what took place so of course now I'm livid. This place verbally attacked, embarrassed and discriminated my husband on top of making a racial slur. All the while in front of our 6 year old child. I get in the car, go down there and ask to speak to the manager explained who I was (I was initially very polite and calm) and I proceed to tell him that I'm sure after the drama was all said and done and you realized all along my husband had paid I'm sure you felt terrible and would like to apologize the MANAGER LOOKED right at me and said: NO I DO NOT WANT TO APOLOGIZE I DONT OWE ANYONE AN APOLOGY. Then proceeded to call the owner Linda on the phone and she also said they do not owe anyone an apology. The manager on the phone was very rude, horrible attitude and did not care to hear a thing I had to say nor did she care her employee called my husband a "Mexican thief" . When this was all said and done, ONE employee came to me and asked if he could have a minute with me and apologized on behalf of the entire store. He stated he felt ashamed by what happened and could not stop expressing his sincere apology (although he was the ONE and only staff that didn't swarm or attack us) I will NEVER do business with Auburn Ace Agri shop ever again in my life and if you are of culture I strongly encourage you stay away from this place. I brought my riding mower in to be serviced. Lady said they would get to it in a week. While dropping it off I talked with Darren, (the gentleman who sold me the mower) about also addressing repairing my bagger. He failed to communicate that to his co-workers and it was not added to the work order. So after 3 weeks they got to looking at it, ordered parts and another week to wait & now after 5 weeks I will be picking it up partially complete. The bagger issue was never addressed... Ordered a Pressure washer for my husband for his birthday. recieved the e-mail conformation to come pick it up! I was all excited to give it to him for his birthday. When I got there they had sent my pressure washer out the door with another customer, then told me they had another one but it cost $250 more than what I paid for the one I had ordered that said it was in stock and to come pick it up! needless to say I will not be shopping at the Auburn Agrishop ever again! what a disappointment! I brought in a Husqvarna chainsaw in for repair and paid the $60 estimate. The repair would have cost more than a new saw so I elected not to continue. When I picked up the saw they initially refused to make a copy of the estimate sheet showing what parts needed replaced. Eventually they relented but went to the effort of whiting out all details such as part numbers. I feel this is what I "paid" for with the estimate? In the end they, let me snap a photo of it, but the whole interaction was supremely uncomfortable. Perhaps they were hiding this information because in addition to relatively expensive labor it seems they mark their parts up around 30%. read more

Moved to Auburn this summer and been here a few times. Employees are unhelpful and need to work on their customer service skills. I've come here to buy paint multiple times. First time I didn't get paint mixed for 20 minutes because no one knew how to except for one man. Second time getting paint was the same experience. Been doing business here for years , they are always really busy. You can only fit so many employees in that building before it get crowded. I was trying to finish mowing the lawn and then get to a graduation party but the lawn mower just wouldn't start after mowing the backyard. I brought it down to leave it before I left for the party. Big mistake, there was a line of 3 people and it took forever. I just wanted to give them my mower, tell them what is wrong and leave my phone number. When it was finally my turn, I had to wait for the mechanic to come over and try and start it. Everything seemed to take more time than needed but eventually we decided to get their gold service for $100 and that should fix everything that I asked for. I was there over 45 minutes and late for the party. 2 weeks later, I called them up and asked how it was going. They had not looked at it yet but they would get to it tomorrow. A couple days later they called and asked what was wrong with the mower. I told them again everything they wrote down the first time and lost. I kept calling every couple of days and they kept saying they will get to it tomorrow. Once I left a message but they didn't return my call. After 3 and a half weeks, I called and they said they were waiting for a part and the part had finally come in. I again stressed that I really really needed my mower because my lawn was super long. They called me back in the afternoon and finally said it was ready. I went in the next day and there was only one person in front of me. I waited for at least 20 minutes before I got helped. They charged me $48 for an ignition coil part then needed replaced in addition to my Gold service. I had requested an estimate if they needed to order parts. No matter, I would have approved it anyway but just another lack of communication. They took me out and gave me my mower but I couldn't get it started. It was out of gas. They apologized and filled it up for me which was part of my gold service. It started and everything seems to work fine. I guess my biggest frustration is the lack of communication. They should have told me their leadtime in advance so I knew I had to rent another lawnmower. When I call them up, they should give me a reasonable date on when they think they will finish. When it needs a part, they need to call me. read more

Excellent store! The employees are sincere and SO helpful. I shop there often -- with questions that would baffle big box stores. The folks at Ace take time to listen and provide meaningful solutions. Recently, I needed to get parts for an older Honda lawn mower. For whatever reason, the model and serial number printed on the mower doesn't coincide with any Honda documentation. So they could have shrugged it off and told me it was obsolete, then sold me a new mower (Of which they have an amazing stock). Instead, they took time to find compatible parts that were actually listed for other models and got everything I needed. My Honda mower looks and runs like new again! It's rare to find such excellent, qualified help and shared values in retail these days. Just very thankful these stores still exist. I strongly urge people to shop local. These stores are part of the community fabric. They are the backbone of American retail and need to be supported. Shop there with confidence. I certainly do. read more

I come here to avoid the drive to, and the crowds at, any of the big box stores in Federal Way. It's a nice store, and totally reminiscent of the neighborhood hardware stores, back when there were such things. It's clean, it's neat, it's well-organized. They have just about everything you would need from your standard hardware place - plumbing bits, lawn and garden things, paint, fasteners, glue and caulk, gloves, tape, sandpaper, and so on. Most of the time, the staff is friendly and helpful. I've bought more than a few gardening tools here, including a Japanese garden knife (hori hori), an excellent, long handled pruner/shear, and a few Ace-branded shovels. Prices are fair - not super cheap, but they're not robbing you blind, either. I understand the competition and I really don't mind paying a little more for the convenience and service. For me, the best part of this Ace is the huge aisle of fasteners and hardware. Not just screws and carriage bolts, but many, many types and sizes of screws, bolts, nuts, washers, o-rings, rubber stoppers, panel fasteners, lamp parts, plastic trim, license plate bolts, screw and bolt covers, woodruff keys, set screws, computer desk grommets, etc., etc.. I was really surprised that they had the right size of button head screws I needed, in an odd pitch and length, but they did. In stainless no less. And yes, I'm a geek. I get excited about stainless steel fasteners. The only real downside, and it's a small one, is their abbreviated Sunday hours, when they close at 5pm. Horrible. Don't go here. Awful customer service. BUYER BEWARE. They screwed something up and then harassed and threatened us. My husband purchased a very expensive tool, they rang it up but apparently gave him the wrong tool (a more expensive one). Over a week later they began leaving harassing and threatening messages for him to bring the tool back or they would "involve other parties". HE HAD ALREADY AGREED TO RETURN IT at *his* convenience. Considering they have inconvenient hours and are not located near our home, returning the item was not simple. Furthermore, he paid for an item and was given an item, he had no way of knowing he took the wrong thing home, and yet they treated him like a criminal. Absolutely despicable behavior. A chainsaw failure with enough room for doubt in all arguments for and against the warranty was resolved thanks to the good offices of the Washington State attorney general AND a very reasonable and rational Stihl representative "JD" in Centralia - the issue was resolved "more than amicably". Agrishop Ace in Auburn was initially defensive but ended up being accommodating in the total process including showing a sincere effort to improve customer service on the weekends with a phone call from the owner. read more

This is for the service department. Brought my hot saw in for repairs, took them three weeks to supposedly fix it. They said they found water in the gas line. Brought it to the job a week later, not having started it since they said it was fixed. It didn't work, I had to go rent one. Brought it back and they charged me again to supposedly fix it, a month later it was ready to pick up. They said there was water in the carburetor and had to pay again for the service. Two weeks go by and I bring it to the job and it doesn't work again. I call them and they say indeed to specify what I want done to it, and I tell the lady I want it to work. They say I can bring in again but if it's something else they will have to charge me for it. The service department has really gone down hill at this place. I will never go back. There crooks stay away. read more

The service department is a rip off. I took them a Sthil power head for Service and they charged me a $65 charge to look at it and told me that if I chose not to have it repaired but buy a new powerhead that money would go towards the purchase. That's not the case so they charged me for a half hour of labor of which they didn't do anything to it because I looked over the powerhead after I am going to take my business elsewhere and they didn't even clean the carburetor off. And then their manager told me well if you go to Tacoma they'll charge you $150 just to look at your vehicle. I think maybe he might need to learn a little bit of manners about being a smart ass to a customer. So I'm gonna go to another Stihl dealership and spend my money there from now on. Plain and simple if they would have applied the $65 towards another powerhead I would've spent about $450 at their store buying a new powerhead. read more

Took my rider(that I bought there) in for a $300+ annual service. Thought a blade sharpening and general cleanup of the mower deck would be included but got charged for the blades and the deck came back with the same grass caked underneath that I brought there. I purchased a mower for 1,975 I had it for 5 days took it in for a assessment because it didn't run right. I was told by Mark they would not honor the warranty because according to them a witness claimed that a little kid drove it. Well he was 21 and a employee . I thought something was off because they wanted cash for the purchase. Who has that amount of cash on them . In the end Mark told me in profanity to get my pice of shit out of his shop. What a nightmare dealing with this shop. I purchased from them a brand new Honda lawn mower (thinking I was buying quality) only to discover after 6 months of minimal use the engine would surge during idle. I called the shop and they said I should have it back in a few days, which made sense because it was April and only a few pieces of equipment were in the shop that I could see. Low and behold (2) weeks later they had still not worked on it. Finally when I did get it back nearly a month later they charged me approximately $200 when I was initially told by the cashier they would assist with any cost since it had so few hours of operation. $200 dollars is nearly one third what I paid for it. I will drive to Sumner Lawn and Saw before this shop ever gets another penny out of me. The only good thing going for this store is Angel. If you have any questions about plants she is the best. Went in for some potting soil and a bigger pot for a houseplant. I am a newbie at houseplants and came in with just a little knowledge gained from some internet searching. I had a sick plant that needed help. An employee named Angel was very nice, patient, helpful and knowledgeable. She found the perfect potting soil with the ingredients that I needed and she helped me pick out the right size pot to help my plant thrive. The pot and tray were a bit pricey, but all in all $20 isn't a lot to spend to save a 15 year-old houseplant, and to get some advice from someone who seemed to really know her stuff. read more

The lady in front of me asked for a tune up kit for her riding lawn mower at the Agrishop parts counter. She mentioned that she thought the kit was $35 last year. The counter salesperson quoted $75, which the customer paid, reluctantly. I was quoted $25 for a front tire inner tube. I also was hesitant, since I bought one at the same shop last summer for $12. The salesperson lowered the price to $18. JD parts are expensive but Agrishop seems to be ripping people off. Check the prices online before you buy there. This is my favorite garden shop. Great plant prices and variety. Rare conifers and Japanese Maples, blueberries, great perennials, veggie starts and seasonal plants. Friendly and helpful staff! I live in Puyallup, the came and picked up the mower and inadvertently forgot to take the can of gas ( no good) to be disposed. The Agrishop actually drove all the way back to Puyallup to pick up the gas. The lawn mower was returned before the weekend, and they even brought back the old parts that had been replaced and the gas can. Excellent service. I will definitely continue to be a customer. Beware phone/internet orders! I've purchased a lot from AgriShop over the years, including a riding lawnmover. Recently ordered new blades, which they selected based on my model number. Turns out they shipped me the wrong ones and I had to return for refund (at my expense). I asked nicely for them to refund the total amount I paid, including shipping (I still paid for return shipping). They refused. So be aware, if you're ordering over the phone, AgriShop's policy is you pay for their mistakes. Wow. Just called to try and find out where is the $2000 riding lawnmower we purchased nearly 4 weeks ago (through Home Depot) and was connected to a male employee in "service" who knew nothing except to tell me that it was supposed to come but seems like it never did with an "Oh well!" tone. I'm scratching my head because Freight Co. says it was delilvered and signed for by them?!? I relayed this and indicated that his news feels alarmng. He casually indicates maybe I just call back tomorrow when the person who knows about this stuff will be there (Eleanor). I suggested maybe they call me back (after all, I'm the customer, right?) He says "Oh, um, yeah." Then I said "No, I'd actually prefer to get traction on this today so could I talk to a manager? He said (soooo slowly) "Uh....I....will.....get....someone....uh....to....uh....I...will...try...to...find...someone." I said, "Okay, yes, that would be great. Should I hold?" He said "Uh....well....I...have....uh....other customers here I'm helping...uh..." Then basically blurts "someone will call you back!" and hung up on me. It was completely unprofessional and aggravating to have my time and business dismissed like that. I immediately called Home Depot back and told them what I'd been through, and that I'd just like to be refunded for the missing lawn tractor. Home Depot immediately tracked down the freight and also ELEANOR who called me back within minutes. She was there at the shop and he didn't even bother to check! Now, Eleanor is lovely and helpful, took ownership of the problem and setup our drop for Friday. She did her best but impossible to fully make up for the dolt I originally got connected with. Ordering online was supposed to be easier and fast. It turns out to have been neither. It sat Agrishop for 7 days without anyone knowing it was there; so we've been sitting here watching the grass grow (literally) waiting for it. I give Eleanor 5 stars but Agrishop is getting only one because the experience with the first employee was so bad. read more

I purchased an expensive riding mower from this retailer. The good customer service ended the moment that the machine had mechanical problems. The manager is no more helpful than his staff. He was condescending and his solution to the ongoing problems was to pay another $150.00 to bring it in for the third time for an ongoing electrical problem. He told me that the wiring harness melted because of rodents. I had the mower inspected by both an electrical and a mechanical engineer who both confirmed it was a faulty connection and lack of insulation causing the problem. Don't shop here unless you like wasting a lot of time on hold and a lot of time hauling your equipment to auburn on you days off. read more

I have an old Stihil chainsaw I dropped off here in mid February 2017. They told me it needed a new carburetor. They would not help me locate the part but told which carb to order. They told me to order the wrong make of carburetor, they spent weeks trying to make the wrong carb work. Now they told me to order the correct carb, HU7A. I could not locate one anywhere. I called Cutters Supply in Enumclaw they suggested rebuilding it for 15.00. I picked up my saw in a box all apart on 6/2/2017. Throughout my dealings with the Agrishop they where unhelpful, have poor customer service, and I lost 4 months of using my saw. When I picked up my saw they wanted to charge me 90.00. 45.00 for service fee and 45.00 for the carb I bought on EBAY. I got them to pay me back for the carb since it was their fault. What a complete waste of time. Save yourself unnecessary drama take your Stihl chainsaws to Cutters Supply is my opinion. read more

Beware of Agrishop/!!! I took a small pump in for service and explained that I didn't want to spend very much. The service guy said and confirmed with another employee that the charge would be $65 plus spark plug and oil and sales tax. I was very clear that I did not want any additional service and to phone if the there were any other problems with the pump. When I went to pick the pump up they want $240. I objected and asked for the manager. He said there was a mistake and that the bill was $180. They performed work that I did not authorize and that the employee acknowledged at drop off was not to be performed. The pump cost about $350 new. They refused to give me my pump back. Apparently, consumers have little to no protection against service departments that do extra work and add it to the bill. It's about the principle to me and I will see Agrishop in front of a small claims judge. read more
