This spot is SO cute and fun!! Not only do they have Christmas trees, but they have an adorable gift shop with free hot chocolate & cider, as well as baked goods for sale. They offer a free hay ride, lots of decor for picture backdrops, and a bonfire to sit around. All in all, it's a lot more than just going and getting your tree: it's a fun spot to hang out. Of course we got the perfect tree, too! They're super helpful and friendly when you pick and do all the work for you. This was such a beautiful experience with my boys. Their children are all hard at work, they were kind, well spoken and truly welcoming. we roasted marshmallows by the fire, got free apple cider which was THEEEE best, took pics, played games, and picked the most amazing tree which we cut ourselves which was an option. The value for the money plus the entire experience included was top notch! Truly one of the reasons I moved to Washington. They had Polar Express playing in the cabin with the fireplace, such a pretty and cozy ambiance. Beautiful selection of trees for a great price for the money! Make this place a winter tradition for your family! Christmas Creek Tree Farm in North Bend has been family operated for 25 years. I have gone there for easily 10-15 years, and possibly as many as 20 years. In addition to having noble, fraser, shasta, grand, and douglas firs, they have other holiday decorations and attractions to make the trip east worthwhile. The kids love the $2 cookies and other treats available for sale in the warming hut. They also like visiting Santa (parents and grandparents: it's free!) and taking a hay ride on a covered wagon pulled by a tractor. There's also complementary cider and coffee. These special things only take place on the weekends and the tree farm season opens each year around November 23rd and hours are 9AM to dusk. The trees cost $43 to $100 plus tax depending on tree species and size. Since the farm is u-cut, they do provide hand saws for borrowing and also twine for tying the tree to your car. The trees can be shaken (takes off dead needles) for $1 or shaked and baled for $3. They accept cash and check at the main gate out of the place but the warming shack down below also accepts debit and credit cards. People watching is also free... it is funny to watch city slickers (myself included) trying to figure out how best to load a baled tree into their shiny 4x4 truck (or minivan, in my case) without getting the paint in the truck bed (or roof rack) marred. Also, it's funny to see the eco-conscious hybrid car owners coming out to chop down a tree... so much for carbon neutral existence. The kids are also fun to watch as some of them really believe this is the North Pole. Some go bonkers thinking the hay ride will take them far out into the countryside but the ride only lasts about 10 minutes. read more

Disappointed. None of the trees are labeled like other farms, so unless you are a Christmas tree expert, or don't care, you have no idea what you're cutting. They have a a map, but the tree types are blended in the same lots, so you really have no idea. Selection was decimated by 4 pm first day of opening. First of all this is a seasonal Christmas tree farm so regardless of when you come it will be busy so bring your patience. The signs are a little confusing because there are people parked on both sides of the road but you can get trees from the road that leads right and left. The road that leads to the right at the end has the pre-cut trees. And yes there are hand saws available for you to use so you don't have to own a saw to come get a tree. The trees are listed by species and entry level prices start at $45 but expect to up to $95 if you want a 6-9 foot Noble or Grand. The people here were all super friendly and I wanted to support a local family business that has been here since 1982. They offer shake out and bailing services for $5 additional. I would also note that if you don't come opening weekend then you should call to make sure they haven't run out of trees. Buyer beware!!!! Christmas Creek has a large selection of trees in 2014, most of which are diseased. A tree that appears to be fine from the outside may well be suffering from a brown-out blight closer to the trunk. Closer inspection showed this to be the case all around the lot. Ok - stuff happens. But when asked about this problem, we were told by the worker bee that, yes, in fact a disease had struck the farm and infected many of the trees. Needless to say, this fact was not advertised to the unfortunates who didn't notice the problem on their own, and, needless to say, there was no price reduction. And, needless to say, we left this dive and found some great trees at Crown Tree Farm a few miles away. Christmas Creek should be ashamed of themselves for the way they are taking advantage of unsuspecting customers during the Christmas season, of all times. read more

Although we love the idea of cutting our own Christmas trees, we (read: my husband) are not as big a fan of the actual effort involved. Three years ago we went to Keith & Scott's cut-your-own lot in North Bend. It was fun, but my husband (cough, cough, wimp, cough, cough) couldn't manage to get the tree cut down. Lotsa effort, lotsa cursing, lotsa freaked out kids, but in the end, no tree, as there was no one there who could help us cut the dang thing down. (Yes, we left the tree with its trunk cut about a quarter of the way through. I feel awful every time I think of it, then try to convince myself we just made the process easier for the next he-man to come through with a proper saw and proper muscles.) So now we opt for buying a precut tree (the ease!) in a cut-your-own lot (the ambiance!). Our choice for the past two years (and the foreseeable future) is Christmas Creek Tree Farm, just off I-90 exit 34. For precuts you won't find a huge selection, but all are nicely shaped trees. They had about a dozen to choose from when we went (all Douglas firs), but most were too tall for our front room (we need something around 7 to 7 1/2 feet, and most of theirs were probably 8-9). But that was just the precuts -- they have a gazillion trees to cut yourself, in all sizes and varieties. Not sure how I would be able to choose if I were willing to cut it myself. I can't say enough good things about this place. My daughter and I went to the Nutcracker yesterday, so we went to the Xmas tree lot right before it closed (got there at 3:40), and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. My husband was sick, so it was just me and the kids, but the guys who work there did all the heavy lifting (literally) for me. We picked the tree out and a nice man carried it to the baler for me. Another guy took the baled tree out to the car for me and tied it to the roof rack while I paid for it. The kids each bought a cookie from the George's Bakery stand inside (giant frosted tree cookies for $2 each) and we all had free hot cider (they give the kids pre-cooled cider so they can drink it immediately without burning themselves, which is a nice touch). We could have visited with Santa -- they offered to give us a line number even though it was almost dusk and closing time -- but we opted to just look from afar since my son is getting to the age where he's staring to question the Jolly Fat Man's veracity and we try and keep his up-close interactions to the same Santa we go to every year for photos. All in all, it was a great trip. Cheap too, thanks to their super pricing on Douglas firs ($50 for any size; most other varieties are a little more spendy). They give free shaking and baling with the precut trees (I think it's an extra $5-$7 with the cut-your-own trees), so our entire excursion -- tree, tax, cookies and tips for the tree loader and the cider girl -- set us back between $60 and $65, and would have been the same price if we had hung out with Santa and/or rode the hayride. This is a great family tree farm. First it is a very large farm,which is great and you don't feel crowded in your hunt for the perfect tree. They have several different species of trees and in a large range of sizes, all of which are beautiful and quality trees. They also offer to shake and bale for an additional fee, which as one other reviewer stated is worth the extra few dollars. For the kids, on weekends they have Santa and hay rides. However come either when they first open or later in the afternoon to avoid the rush. In the warming house also had the best cookies and free hot cider. I grew up going to Mt. Pilchuck Christmas tree farm, which was by far and away my favorite childhood memory around the holidays. I also grew up that you always cut down your own tree. The first Christmas since I had graduated from college (2009) I took my girlfriend (now Fiancee) up to Pilchuck and we were quite disappointed. No Hayrides, poor selection of trees, the hot chocolate they were making they just gave you hot water and a packet of swiss miss. I get that you may be using swiss miss, but at least cut all the packets into a container to make it look like something a little nicer. At the VERY least, mix it up for me and hand me a cup of hot chocolate. Over the last couple of years we have been trying various places like in Issaquah, and they have been alright, just not a very good selection. This year it was between Mountainview and Christmas Creek in North Bend, since our new tradition is to pick a tree with my parents and go to the Snoqualmie Brewery afterwards. We opted for Christmas Creek and I will say at first we all looked at each other and said "turn around now before anyone sees us!" When you first enter its an entrance hut with a few not very good looking trees. The lot only appears to be about an acre at most. Probably just poor luck but the trees near the entrance arent very nice looking. DONT BE SCARED OFF! A really nice girl came up to our car and was very sweet and provided us with a map and a short conversation. Upon looking at the map there was a whole other part of the farm down the hill. We drove down and it was PACKED!!! And for good reason. Just driving in we saw 7 or 8 trees we thought were amazing. The normal problem we normally has, is that we cant find the EXACT perfect tree! The main problem we had here is that we each found 3 or 4 perfect trees. The trees here are amazing and on top of it was the service! As my fiancee and I got about 50 yards from the main Hut 3 people came up and asked us if we needed help. They grabbed the tree, put it in a shaker to shake out all the dead needles, and then wrapped it for us. Now I am very particular about my tree (I put 21 strands of lights on a 7 foot tree) and normally when you get it bailed they pull it through the bailer and it sounds like every limb on the tree is breaking. The machine they have pulls the tree through and wraps it with twine and never actually touches the machine edges. Then when you get home you just cut up the twine and go Clark Griswold on opening up your tree. THEN, after that we literally had workers fighting over who would take our tree back to our car for us! THEN when we got back to our car we had multiple people ask us if we needed help tying it to our car. Talk about service. While we were there probably 10 to 15 guys asked us if we needed any help and I witnessed TONS of other people getting asked if they need help. This place knows customer service. THEN when you leave, make sure to get the PB Cup Cookie. Do you remember those peanut butter cookies with a hershey kiss on top in the middle? Well they make a big one with a Reeses Peanut Butter cup on top. Its amazing! I will be coming back here for years to come as long as they keep their trees up to par. I do love this tree farm! We've been going off and on for about a decade. We've deviated to explore pre-cut lots in Seattle and another farm in Snohomish (because of a Daily Deal site, totally a disappointment) and now we're back here where we'll stay. The thing I love most is the experience of it all. A huge farm with so many trees to pick from! We always do a Noble - saws and twine provided and aplenty. I don't know a ton about the pricing except a 7 foot Noble runs $85 and shaking and baling adds $5. Get freezing cold, and potentially soaking wet, plan poorly and forget rain coats and truly warm clothes and you'll still have fun. When you're good and cold, the fire inside is literally roaring! Free coffee and yummy cider and a few different cookies for sale. Cookies are $2 each and make a nice finale. Santa is there on the weekends and is legit. My 8 year old doesn't even believe in Santa but questions that belief when he sees this one. Being your own camera for Santa pictures as they provide the Santa but not photos. We haven't done the hay ride but it looks like your standard hay ride - surely fun for kids! Bottom line is this: once we leave their tree farm with our tree on top of the truck, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! read more
