Been here a few times and common theme is almost always insane wait times to be greeted at the table. 15-20 minutes before the server can get to you. Seems like a management issue because this has been the case regardless of the server. Sunday night dinner rush they had a "seat yourself" sign, clearly overwhelmed staff and tons of dirty tables, but still telling people coming in to sit wherever. Left after no contact for almost 20 minutes. It seems like there was no organization to what the staff were actually doing. I genuinely feel bad for the staff because it clearly seems like a management issue. Decent food and beer if you can stand the wait. read more

The restaurant itself is quite small and can get very loud, especially if you're seated near a table of particularly rowdy taphouse guests. A go-to local spot when my parents are in town. My dad is always impress with the burgers, while me and my little sis can never get tired of the steak sandwich. We order chicken strips on the side and those are also fantastic. They have decent beer choices. They're always super quick which makes us very happy. This place has really gone downhill. It used to be a restaurant I very much looked forward to visiting, and I would go out of my way to get over to Moscow to have a burger or sandwich here. Unfortunately those days appear to be over. The service here has always been a bit on the slow side, which was frustrating, but the food made it feel worth it. Now the food seems to be pretty bad overall. I had the Huckleberry BBQ Bacon Burger, which used to be a standout favorite. All I can say from today's experience is "Yuck!". The meat in particular was just bad. The rest of the toppings didn't add much flavor. The tots weren't very crispy either. My wife had the French Dip sandwich. The meat was horrible. She had me try a bite to make sure she wasn't being overly sensitive. It was rubbery and gross. She stopped eating it after one bite. That left her with the side salad, but they got her order, including the toppings she asked to have excluded. I love that this place has dozens of taps of great local beer, but the food I used to love here is just unpleasant now. And the slow service that has always been slow just compounds the situation. I'll miss Moscow Alehouse, but considering how much it has gone downhill I'll find other options in the area. read more

Stopped here on our way to Spokane. They had a great selection of beer on tap. We ordered our beer, which we got pretty quick. We ordered the steak salad and a pepperoni flat bread pizza. Both were pretty good however the pizza looked like a school lunch pizza when served. It was good through. The steak on the salad was cooked well done. The server did not ask how we wanted it cool. I went to the Moscow ale house the other night and it was not good at all. The service was just fine actually pretty good and the beer selection was also pretty solid but the food was something I'd find in a frat house mini fridge. The meat on my Philly cheese steak was sweaty like an armpit and the cheese was worse than that of a McDonald's hamburger. The boneless wings looked like they came straight out of the microwave a month ago and then they put some chewy celery and carrots on the plate that I wouldn't even feed a wild rabbit. Would not recommend going here other than to drink. read more

We asked Nate again what the deal was and this time he gave us excuses all while puffing his chest up like he was looking for a fight. We left. I've been coming here for years and I feel it's long overdue for a review. This place is pretty much the same place as it's always been. Burgers, Beers and a great location. Nothing wrong with that combo, in my opinion. If anything, their options in beer have improved. The beer arrived cold and frosty on a hot summer day. Stopped in on a Saturday in July mid-afternoon, not busy, quiet and clean. Ordered Palouse Burgers for both of us, with mods to mine (add cheese, no lettuce, side of BBQ). The burgers and fries came out hot, fresh, and tasty. I absolutely loved the seasoned fries and would've eaten every bite of my burger, but it was too big for me. Wifey & I have been here about maybe 7 times over the past 6 months. The previous 6 times we visited, we've had exceptional service (definitely 4.5 - 5 stars every-time), with every waiter being so polite and checking up on us repeatedly. The team there those previous 6 times was definitely on top of their game and the place seemed so lively. However, this last visit, which was yesterday in the afternoon was crappy. In fact, the worse service we've had in all of Moscow over the past year. If that was our only visit here I'd give this place 0.5 stars, because according to Aunt Vivian (our server's name rhymes with that lol) "they don't usually move people around, but this one time she would do this for us". Ok so back story to this whole crappy experience was that when we arrived, Aunt Vivian said we could sit "anywhere". Since my wife and I have only been to this place while the outside patio area was closed, we assumed only the inside seating was open. Also, we originally planned to go to Gambino's (they were closed until 4pm this day for an unknown reason) and had parked on the west side of Moscow Alehouse, so we never saw or heard all the people sitting outside in the patio area when we entered. After sitting on the west side of the dining area and ordering our drinks, we finally noticed that the patio area was open. Wanting to sit outside instead, we waved down Aunt Vivian and asked her if she was also serving outside (as we didn't want to move out there but end up having another server take her tip since she was already starting to serve us, see how nice we are) and if we could move out there if she was. Aunt Vivian then told us promptly and with a straight face "sorry, there's no seats out there". So me being a curious little fawker at the time, I head to the restroom (wait that's not why I was curious lol), but right before I go to the latrine, I walk over to the window overlooking the patio area. In the process of looking out I see two ladies, who had just walked in as I got up, proceed to sit at a small table with 4 seats on the PATIO. After tunkling and shaking only twice (ha) I head back to our booth and tell my wife, Aunt Vivian is a gahdahm liar, there was a table open out there. My wife then walks out there and notices a-f***in-nother table open with 4 seats, which just needed to be cleaned. So she politely asks Aunt Vivian if we can sit at that table after it's been cleaned. My wife then tinkles and we wait patiently for about 10 minutes. Once the table is ready, Aunt Vivian comes over to our booth and tells us it's cleaned. We are excited to head out into the patio/sun area. Then while walking us to the patio area, right before the door, she tells us "You know, we usually don't move people around, but I'll do it this one time for you all, ohhhkaayyyyy???". The fact that this place wasn't super packed and the nerve of her to say that to us like we are some kids in front of other customers just brought down the whole vibe for my wife and I stopping here. After she said that, I just responded with "Well I guess we won't be returning here then." I would understand our request being unreasonable if this place was super packed inside and outside, but the fact was it wasn't and we were willing to wait as long as possible for the table to be cleaned and even move all our stuff ourselves. The manager did make our situation better after talking to her, but I also noticed said mngr just chilling behind the bar a lot and pouring drinks here and there, maybe that's why the waiters were feeling stressed out. I''m not sure if all of the previous crew just bounced, if that's the case, then this place is definitely going to be below 4 stars. Hopefully that isn't the case though as my wife & I love to come here at least once every month. The food here is pretty good, nothing super amazing, but also nothing super crappy. Their location next to the university is great, definitely what will keep this place in business. Personally, I love their flatbread pizzas and their tot-chos (holly shyaaat! (lol)) read more

Paradise Creek Cafe at the mall is by far better in food quality and customer service. This place has Good food, however if you want outdoor seating that is shaded, go elsewhere. While there are umbrellas on every table, only some of them are permitted to be used when there is a bit of wind because only a select few are sanded. It's too bad for the servers because they have to our up with frustrated customers like me who choose to eat else where. I used to love coming to this place when I'm in town. We went in tonight, hardly any customers in the restaurant. We were seated and someone said they'd bring us waters, 25 mins later we got up and left. A ton of servers and nobody even got near our table. As we were walking out I told one of the many servers who were just standing around why we were leaving. She said they were in a shift change and instead of bothering to say anything or at least bring us some water they chose to ignore us. Won't be back. read more

We enjoyed this place. Good cross section of all ages and backgrounds, with very well prepared bar/pub food. Their wings were pretty darned meaty, and definitely the larger siblings of the puny ones so many places try to pan off on diners. Wifey loved her Philly, but when does she not? I went for their Vandal Huckleberry Bacon Burger, and it was deliciously unique. The sweet huckleberry barbecue sauce went great with the peppered bacon in a salty/sweet way, and it was a rare time that I didn't reach for condiments for a bar burger. I guess I owe these guys a bit of an apology, though, because according to my lovely wife, I was being a bit overly exuberant eating my burger. A not funny dickhead--I do believe--were the words she used the next morning. Beer all day didn't help, but that's no excuse for acting like that in public.
