I came here on a cloudy afternoon while visiting my boyfriend at WSU. The interior was probably the best I've ever seen for a coffee shop. It was so warm, rustic, and inviting and I loved the decor. There is a long table with benches in the middle of the shop. On the side wall were big armchairs with tables to seat two. In the middle was where you order your drinks/baked goods, and even further in the back were more tables and chairs. It felt so cozy and had a very "academia" (as in light/dark academia) aesthetic. I took a picture of the place for my friend in Seattle and she said it looked like where smart people go. As for the drinks, I got a latte that I wasn't very impressed with. My boyfriend got I think a caramel latte which was much better. Our friend got one of the Cuban coffees; I don't remember which but it was very creamy which I enjoyed when I had a sip. While we were drinking, a man in front of me got an oat milk chai latte which also sounded very delicious. My boyfriend said the sandwiches were sub par. Also pretty disappointing to read other reviews and learn it's run by a cult and that the owner is rude. read more

This is an adorable coffee shop with a bit of a library theme, with very friendly staff, excellent coffee, and some good light food options. They have lots of comfortable seating, including a big communal table. So this is a really great place to come hang out with friends (or solo). The coffee is always excellent, and they have a variety of good breakfast type snacks to choose from. Their food options include a wide variety of gluten-free options, which have proven to be very good. So, whether you just need a quick coffee to go, or you need a snack to go with that coffee, or you want to hang out in their cool seating area, Bucer's is definitely worth a stop. read more

I think Buccers has a lot of great qualities, Unfortunately I can no longer go to this business and I hate to write so negatively about a local business but my experiences the past half a dozen times have been terrible. The past two times I haven't been able to get anything because they are only serving drip coffee at a coffee establishment. I only found that out after waiting in line both times. I stopped going for paninis at lunch because it would take 45-60 minutes for my food on multiple occasions and would have to get it to-go at the last minute. I think that they are affordable and have good quality things but they clearly have an issue finding and keeping employees. I hope they can eventually resolve these issues but for now I won't be going there anytime soon. read more

WOW! If I would have my own coffee shop, this is what it would be like! Relaxing atmosphere and piano/ jazz music. They roast their own coffee which was so rich and fresh. The last live music venue standing in Moscow! Post-Covid, they are the only place I know of that consistently has bands anymore. It's a smaller venue with a big communal table in the center, so prepare to be packed in pretty tight, but everyone is super friendly and chatty! We came an hour early to a show and were able to snag the last couple seats before it really got busy. Happy hour's 4-7 (buy one drink/get one free) and they'll let you pre-purchase beers during happy hour to enjoy later in the night! We had an amazing time and thought this was one of the friendliest venues we'd ever been to! Super fun atmosphere - highly recommend. read more

Let me just start by saying I used to rant and rave about Bucer's ALL the time. I used to come here at least once a week, sometimes even more. Now, I feel like Bucer's has lost its touch. I used to consider them to be a small home away from home: a place to meet up with friends, study, read, listen to live music, play board games, and just relax. After living in Moscow and frequenting this establishment for five years, I've finally decided to leave a review. The coffee is AMAZING.... if they make it right. The worst thing Bucer's struggles with as a coffee shop is consistency. My coffee is NEVER made the same when I come here, and I often have to ask for changes to be made to my drink. It is not a good thing when you have to decide whether or not to order an espresso drink based on who is working the machine. Now, the owner herself? Rude. I can honestly say I've never been treated with respect by her, whether in person or over the phone. I don't think this is personal; she is like this to most people I see her interact with (unless, of course, you're a local who has lived here for the past 40 years). She is actually quite bossy towards the guests, and it's quite unfortunate she can't direct that energy to training her staff to be more consistent. read more

Today I explored a new cafe in Moscow called Bucer's Coffee House and Pub. It is right on Main Street in the heart of downtown. The cafe serves coffee, pastries, some breakfast items, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks. All for a reasonable price! There is also a cool wall in the front is filled with books for patrons to read. I ordered a Soy Latte and Tillamook Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Bucer's takes their coffee pretty seriously. They roast their own coffee a few times weekly and have their own blend. This is probably why my Soy Latte was so good. I really enjoyed it. My Tillamook Grilled Cheese Sandwich was even better. Once I saw Tillamook in the name, I knew what I was ordering. It was melty deliciousness. The cheese covered the entire sandwich rather than just the middle, so every bite was a cheesy bite. The bread was perfect, the cheese was perfect, the sandwich was perfect. I loved it. While I was there, the place was rather busy with University of Idaho students studying on their laptops at all the tables. Everyone was generally hanging out and spending time there rather than grabbing coffee or food and leaving. You know a place is good when so many people come to hang out, chat, and study there. Accessibility: This cafe is generally accessible. The door inside might be a bit awkward because it is at an angle, but otherwise you should be okay. There are a variety of seating options. There are high tables and chairs, benches, chairs, and softer leather chairs that have arms. Depending on how busy it is, it may be difficult to find a chair without arms that is not a bench or high table. There is more seating in the back that was closed off while I was there and I think that has more chairs. I apologize, I did not check the bathrooms for accessibility. read more

Hi, my name is Evan. I'm a simple man. When it's cold I'll have a drip coffee. When it's warm I'll have an iced coffee. After numerous visits to Bucer's Coffee House Pub I have came to the conclusion that I am not their target demographic. Who is? My beef with Bucer's does not involved their drip coffee. It provides what I want: mediocrity and caffeine. The concept of "iced coffee" eludes their staff. If you ask for an iced coffee they'll either try to sell you an americano with a few ice cubes haphazardly thrown in (and completely melted in seconds) or a four dollar cold brew. Some may call this self-professed "simple man" cheap. I won't argue! Starbucks' 16oz iced coffee, a proper iced coffee, is $2.65. Bucer's will charge you $4.00 for a 16oz cold brew. Folks on this site will talk bad on Starbucks. I don't understand. They do the simples correctly and cheaper than others in town. read more

This place is a covid spreading nightmare. Packed full of people, no distancing between tables, and there was even a communal table in the center of the small front room. No enforcement of the city mask ordinance - no sign or sanitizer. Hordes of unmasked people, not just while sitting down consuming beverages/food, but while entering/wandering around the establishment, waiting in line, etc. The only masks I could see were on employees. Looks like a cute place with good drinks, but had to turn around. It's disrespectful to potential customers who want to support local businesses but also be safe and responsible. read more

Was going to meet someone for coffee here but they had to bail. But I'm here, I can't leave w/out tasting the coffee and fare. I like the relaxed atmosphere here, with a huge bookcase w/tons of books to read while you take a comfy seat. It's raining today, so I ordered a Mexican mocha (quickly becoming a favorite of mine, here in ID). Then the ham & cheese quiche looks too good to pass up. I had to look away from the pastries, so tempting! Coffee was great and the quiche only took about 8 minutes to hit my table ( another popular, busy coffee place). It was well seasoned and tasty, but just a little more moist than I was used to-but I realize quiches are supposed to be that way. I'm used to more cooking time with a crispier crust. Oh my gosh I absolutely LOVE this shop. The pub/coffee shop mixed vibe is on point, the one MASSIVE table in the front of the shop is ad-hoc community at it's finest, and the coffee's delicious. Outlets aren't everywhere, but you'll almost always be able to get close to one. there's also a good number of power strips on the floor in strategic places. Internet's solid as well, no qualms about using it for hours. Can't wait to come back. Seriously folks, I'm from Portland (don't hate me) and this shop is top-notch. The last four times I have walked two miles to get a latte only to find that they are not serving any hot drinks besides tea or drip coffee. You know this is a coffee shop right? We asked around for recommendations for coffee on the "Fight, Laugh, Feast" group on FB. Everyone told us how amazing Bucer's is. My wife and I stopped in this morning. The building was really cool, and I love the fact that the kitchen is not overly modernized. There is a lot of heart in that place! The staff was friendly and fast. The coffee was so good, we decided to pop back in this evening on the way to our hotel. This will definitely be a regular stop when I am in town. I waited in line for about 3 minutes before the herd of customers not wearing masks or socially distancing made me feel too uncomfortable to go through with an order. Visited Bucer's this afternoon for a panini and waited about 35 minutes after ordering. The paninis are pre-made and only need to be pressed and heated, which should only take 5-10 minutes tops. During my wait, I noticed several troubling things. Almost no one except for the workers were wearing masks (our city has a mask ordinance at the moment). The place was filled to the brim with people, so social distancing is nearly impossible. The barista would prepare lattes, call out a name, and then someone would come up and she could not recall what the drink was or who it was for. Once we got our paninis, we left to eat in a park to avoid so much human contact. The panini was wonderful, so they definitely got that right! It seems that this business just needs better systems in place for efficiency, along with a reminder of the mask and social distancing rules for our town. If you are trying to avoid large crowds, disregard for mask laws and long waits, I would recommend not going to this place for awhile unless they make drastic changes. read more

Wonderful wonderful coffee. I went here for years and years for peace, for studying, for conversation, for dates, and for coffee. They roast the coffee themselves, the staff is always very kind and know what they are doing. Every dessert I have tried there was incredible! The Guinness cake definitely is something that I'll get the next time I'm able to visit! They steam their lattes quite well, and time their shots only giving their customers top quality coffee. This place has one giant wooden table perfect for studying or conversation and also has little rooms perfect for more intimate and personal gatherings with friends. This was always my favorite cafe on the Palouse and will always stay that way! Super chill atmosphere and lots of great places to sit, study, read, whatever. They also have some unique syrup flavors. Both employees I spoke to there were super friendly and helpful.
