Writing a review on behalf of my dad, who recently had surgery with Dr. Kim on 4/8- he was extremely patient, kind, and answered all questions during the initial surgery consultation. Come surgery day, he answers all questions we forgot to ask initially, once he finished answering our questions, my dad's wheeled in right at 7am and we had him home by 1:30pm. I went in to have my prostate checked. No eye contact, smug and got a script and he said, " See you in a year." No follow up and no refill on meds. A year later I went to get my blood done and the enlarged prostate caused chronic kidney damage. Then when I went to see Dr Kim instead I was pawned off to a PA Daniel Cabanero who put a first time for me ever catheter in and sent me home with no instructions, no explanations and no catheter bag. When my wife called to tell him about me bleeding all night and was confronting him he hung up. He should lose his license. What a jerk. read more

I had a prostatectomy On January 28 2026 perform by Dr. Moses Kim at Providence hospital In Mission Viejo. Procedure was scheduled for 7 am. Everything was on time and by 2 pm I was home recovering. Amazingly first week after Sergery I did not have any pain, did not take any pain killers or bladder spasm related medicine. All fun starts after they remove a Cateter. Right now I have second week of recovery after Cateter removed. Leakage get better an I hope in a few month I will be completely dry. Based on my experience I would highly recommended dr. Dr. Kim appears to be an excellent doctor/surgeon. His reputation with other doctors is stellar. However, his non-medical office staff are horrible and I don't understand why he (with him as the head of the medical group too) hasn't fixed this problem. It reflects very poorly on him. Related, my wife refuses to accompany me on office visits (as a 2nd set of ears to hear what he says) as he pretty clearly insulted her during my initial visits. Dr. Kim will tell you that point blank- "that's not my style" ‍ so maybe don't go see him if you need someone to treat you like a human who has other organs and systemic concerns other than the whatever he's dicing and slicing (albeit related). I am a 10 year patient and they contacted me because I had changed insurance companies and had an upcoming yearly appointment with Dr. Kim. I was in a meeting and could not supply them with the insurance information so they proceeded to cancel my appointment. Is this the way for a doctor's office to treat a 10 year patient? Dr Kim did 2 laser surgeries to fix my enlarged prostate problems. Before the surgeries, I had to go to the bathroom every 3 hours. After the 1st surgery, I had to go every 2 hours. Dr Kim is a very inconsiderate person and negligent doctor. He IGNORES you when you are at the hospital and he is on call. Doesn't "on call" mean that you are supposed to come in if needed? Nope. No one can get ahold of this guy, he ignores your call and has you wait in the hospital for days. I'm not sure why Mission hospitals has him as practically their only urologist on staff it seems because they should replace him with someone who is worth a damn or actually will deign to show up. The medical industry forgets that patients are also paying customers and deserve care in a timely fashion especially when it's something severe. I had stage 7 prostate cancer I saw Dr Kim for my evaluation and only after a few minutes I knew I came to the right place. I had my prostate removed on Nov 18th and was home the same day. The surgery went very smoothly and I've had no problems not even being nauseous after 4 hours of surgery. It was an amazing experience for me because I usually am sick for a day or two afterwards. The first 2 days after the surgery I was sore but by day 3 a remarkable difference in pain around the incision area. By day 6 the pain was mostly gone and the catheter was removed with no discomfort. His technique allows me to be healed enough to walk and drive and return to a lot of my activities in 6 days after surgery the man is a genius. If you have to have prostate surgery do yourself a favor and see him. To be honest I had great apprehension about this surgery but so far so good no problems and I only had one incision instead of 4 which greatly helped in the recovery time. Horrible office staff, rude people, long wait times, passive approach to medically required treatments, scheduling an appointment is a disaster, and their billing practices are definitely not industry standard - requiring patients to pay for services at time of scheduling an appointment. He ignored my chart from 3 weeks earlier (when I was admitted for sepsis from a stone that blocked my ureter). Last weekend I found myself in excruciating pain and went to the Bear Valley Hospital ER; tests proved that I had a kidney stone. I was sent home, with meds and advised that I see a urologist. Two days later, I was able to get down the mountain and see my primary doctor, and he requested that I see Dr. Moses Kim for further evaluation. Today, when I entered Dr. Kim's office, I was greeted cheerfully by Beth, the receptionist, given a form to sign, and within 5 minutes, Dr. Kim's assistant, Kristen, called me back. Kristen was very kind and efficient; she took my vitals and asked a couple of questions, and then in came Dr. Kim. What a pleasant man, very assuring and he seemed to know what he was doing. He gave me some sound advice and requested that I have an ultrasound next week. I have been feeling really lousy these past few days, but this visit actually put me in a better frame of mind and I now feel that a full recovery is just around the corner.
