Extremely frustrating experience with prescription refill management at Orange County Urology Associates. Per their office policy, patients are told the pharmacy must initiate refill requests. I started the process with CVS on Sunday night. By Monday, CVS informed me they could not get a response from the provider's office. I also contacted the office directly via text as instructed. For nearly an entire week, there was little to no communication. CVS could not get responses. My texts went unanswered. Phone calls were not picked up. I was repeatedly left in the dark regarding a very basic medication refill. What makes this even more disappointing is that I was patient throughout the process. I gave the office grace. I tried to work within their procedures. I gave them multiple opportunities to make things right rather than immediately posting a negative review. I eventually escalated the matter to Caroline, who assured me the issue would be handled by Jackie, the Nurse Manager. I genuinely believed they were finally going to take ownership and resolve the issue properly. Unfortunately, even after those promises, there was still no urgency, no proactive follow-up, and no meaningful communication. Friday morning came and went with complete silence until I started reaching out yet again. The problem is bigger than one refill delay. There appears to be a deeper structural and cultural issue within the office. The practice feels severely disorganized, understaffed, poorly coordinated internally, and lacking accountability. The right hand does not seem to know what the left hand is doing. A routine RX refill should not require nearly a week of follow-up, repeated escalation, unanswered messages, pharmacy intervention, and management involvement just to get basic patient care handled. read more

This office is a nightmare. Please go anywhere else. My father was a patient of Dr. Randall's - his bed side manner is poor, but my complaint is deeper than that. My father died three weeks after the surgery Dr. Randall performed. He was very sick and I am not suggesting he died as a result of Dr. Randall's surgery. Three weeks after my dad passed, the office left me a voicemail to share they would issue a refund for the surgery deposit since the surgery occurred. I shared the necessary information and the office confirmed the matter was closed. Three weeks later I received a bill for the exact amount that was refunded and the subject line was surgery deposit. This was obviously upsetting but I called the office and said I understand mistakes happen, and they clarified it was ok to ignore it - no money was owed, it was in fact a mistake. Literally no joke three weeks later I receive another bill for again the same amount with the subject line surgery deposit. This is just an irritating issue regardless of someone being deceased or not, and a sign of an unorganized medical practice with also very poor customer service skills - in zero of the conversations was a simple "I'm sorry for your loss, that was our mistake" uttered. Instead it was me saying I understand issues happen, no worries, and no acknowledgement of that. Getting through to a person on the phone is an olympic sport. Then you add on the fact that my dad did pass and I'm playing chicken with a billing department of a subpar urology office? No thanks. read more

My wife and I both use this provider. I have been satisfied with the care that I've received, but her experience is different. She has a lot of respect for the doctors but at this present time she has a medical emergency and the staff consistently blows it off. Calls never get returned, text messages, never get answered and consequently, it's time to look for somebody else that values those things. It's hard enough to have health issues, but to add insult to injury, literally, is extremely difficult to deal with personally. I understand reasons why staffing is so difficult these days but nevertheless patients need to be first. Dr Spitz is the best. Office staff is the worst. To get an appointment, a return call regarding medication refill is a virtual impossibility. When they do return your call the staff is rude and you are put on hold for an unreasonable length of time. They act like they are doing you a favor. Ok, nobody wants to go to the urologist. The experience is very good. Once you have completed the normal paperwork, it's easy to make an appointment. A reality check, given the nature of the practice, the doctor or PA might be a bit behind schedule.
