After reaching out, my initial appointment was abruptly canceled about a week in advance. I later discovered that what I believed to be a local office was actually a call center. At no point did anyone explain how their scheduling works, that offices operate independently, or that doctors are independent providers. I was eventually rescheduled at the Laguna Hills location. When I arrived, the receptionist was unfriendly and immediately informed me of a $99 consultation fee. I had no issue paying this fee, had it been disclosed beforehand--which it was not. When I raised this concern, I was told that the doctor I paid the consultation fee for would be the only doctor who could treat me if I moved forward. If our personalities or approach did not align, I would be required to pay an additional consultation fee to see another doctor. That is an unacceptable business practice. To make matters worse, I was told that the person responsible for explaining financing and costs would not be available for another day or two, meaning I could not even receive a proper quote during my visit. I intentionally carved time out of my busy schedule for what is a very emotional and important decision in my life, only to leave feeling frustrated, disappointed, and misled. I will not be returning to this facility or any of its affiliates, and I would strongly caution others to be very clear about fees, scheduling, and expectations before booking an appointment.

I went through two IVF cycles with this doctor, and both experiences were extremely upsetting. During my first egg retrieval, the doctor arrived about 1.5 hours late, and I had already ovulated by the time he arrived. The second retrieval was even worse. The anesthesia was not sufficient, and I woke up in the middle of the egg retrieval in excruciating pain. This was one of the most terrifying and painful medical experiences I have ever had. What happened afterward was almost as upsetting as the procedure itself. When I told the doctor how much pain I had experienced, instead of showing concern or taking my complaint seriously, he laughed and told me I was "too sensitive." Dr. Lin mocked me for being unable to tolerate the pain. Seriously? I PAID FOR ANESTHESIA. I was not complaining about a minor discomfort. I woke up during an invasive procedure and was in extreme pain. I expected the doctor to listen, acknowledge what happened, and take my concerns seriously. Instead, I felt mocked, humiliated, and completely dismissed. A doctor's experience does not excuse a lack of compassion or respect for a patient's suffering. When a patient wakes up during an invasive procedure in severe pain, the appropriate response is to take that pain seriously--not to laugh at the patient or suggest that they are simply "too sensitive." Patients deserve safe care, appropriate pain management, and to be treated with dignity and respect. After I told my family and friends what happened, every single one of them was shocked and told me I should consider taking legal action. Based on my personal experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering IVF think very carefully before choosing this doctor. For me, trust, communication, proper pain management, and basic compassion are non-negotiable--and unfortunately, I did not feel that I received those things here.

Rather than advising me of the upcoming closure, the staff took down my information and told me I would be contacted in January when their schedule "opens up." This was misleading and unprofessional. If an office knows it is shutting down, that information should be communicated transparently during the initial call. Instead, I was given false expectations and wasted time based on information that was not accurate. I find this type of business practice concerning. If something as basic as an office closure is not communicated honestly, it raises questions about what else may not be handled with transparency. I would not recommend this office.

Just as incredible is his entire staff is kind, supportive, responsive, and made us feel cared for every step of the way. We could not have done this without them, and we will be forever grateful. After 5 years of trying to get pregnant, multiple doctors, 2 egg retrievals, and 4 failed transfers, I came to Dr. Bryan Acacio with unexplained infertility and very little hope. From our first consult, Dr. Acacio truly listened. I suspected endometriosis, which previous doctors dismissed, but he insisted on surgery and found stage 2 endo. He also ran an autoimmune panel that revealed genetic variations affecting implantation testing my prior doctors never pursued. He immediately recommended PGT testing, which finally gave us answers. He also listened to my concerns about timing during retrieval. This time, we waited one extra day--and the results were life-changing: 11 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 7 blasts, and 5 genetically normal embryos. In November, we transferred two embryos. After the longest 11 days of my life, I got the call I was pregnant. Two weeks later, we learned both embryos had implanted. To the future parents: there's a light a the end of this journey. IVF is a time consuming journey but I'm so lucky to get pregnant after 1 round of egg retrieval and 1 transfer. Envita's amazing team made this happen. Dr. Abae is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and caring. He never rushed any of my appointments and does not use "one size fit all" protocol which I'm very grateful for. He always takes time to read and analyze every test result, do each of my ultrasound, and answer all of our questions very thoroughly. He makes sure everything is perfect before diving into the next step and no wonder they have such good success rates :) The lab team is also so nice and experienced, Dr. Asemi was able to fertilize 9 high-grade embryos for us despite my low egg quality due to PCOS. She also patiently answered tons of questions before we chose the embryo. The nurses (Maria and Liz) are both so supportive and welcoming the whole time, making me feel much less anxious during the IVF treatment. They even have a direct line which patients could call them for any questions after work hours. I can't appreciate them more. Last but definitely not least, thanks to my awesome coordinator Becky and the office manager Minyi, they are angels! I could have never completed this journey without them. I followed every instruction, every protocol, and trusted the process, but it felt like no one was really invested in my individual journey or well-being. To make matters worse, the treatments took a huge toll on my health. I gained a lot of weight, my hormones have been completely out of balance, and I've never felt this unhealthy--physically or emotionally. Infertility is already such a painful road, and I truly wish I had received more thoughtful care and honest communication throughout. After 3 failed cycles, my husband and I decided to change fertility clinics and received a…read morerecommendation to check out RISE. Needless to say, it was one of the best decisions we have ever made! During our initial consultation with Dr. Ghazal, we could tell that her approach was very different than most fertility doctors. We had two embryos remaining from my retrieval at my prior clinic, and wanted to transfer one of those embryos. During a consultation with another clinic, we were told by the doctor that he "would never use" the remaining embryos due to their grading. Dr. Ghazal disagreed with that approach. When we asked what medicine regimen Dr. Ghazal would use, she advised us that she needed to invest time reviewing my medical records to come up with a personalized recommendation. She would not utilize a cookie-cutter "one size fits all" approach like most fertility doctors seem to do. Dr. Ghazal then prepared a detailed plan to use an "modified natural cycle," which involved less medication than I had to take during my failed cycles. That plan also required more doctor visits to monitor my ovulation cycle. Dr. Ghazal was very dedicated to our cause that she opened the office for appointments on weekends and offered to schedule my FET on Thanksgiving if necessary. She was also was able to identify a medical condition that very likely caused my prior failed cycles and easily fixed the issue. Dr. Ghazal is someone whose brain seems to operate on a wholly different wavelength. She is knowledgeable while remaining humble, able to listen to her patients' needs, very empathetic to our concerns, and cheered us on throughout the cycle. Needless to say, her bedside manner is top-notch. Beyond the doctor, the staff at RISE is the best we have encountered in any medical practice. I was fortunate to work with Laura (RN). Laura has extensive medical training and was well equipped in answering my questions. By contrast, the coordinators at my previous clinic seemed to have little training, and merely acted as messengers for the doctors. Laura was also extremely responsive to my emails and phone calls (even at odd hours or on weekends) and was also personable at appointments. Crucially, Laura was also helpful in assisting us with transporting our embryos from my prior clinic to RISE. The RISE team (Allie, Angie, Heidi, Krystal, and Molly) were exceptional to work with! They genuinely became family throughout the process. A little less than a year after our initial consultation with Dr. Ghazal, I gave birth to our second child! As she lays in my arms, all I can think is how grateful I am that we chose to transfer our little "embryo that could" with Dr. Ghazal!

Although I was ready to move right into IVF due to my age and wanting more than one child, he spent the time discussing all the options before I made a final decision with my husband. There was no pressure, just guidance. I noticed right away he was very knowledgeable, welcoming, and patient. The office was extremely efficient. I was able to do genetic testing, infectious disease testing, and full labwork done within days for me and my husband. The facility was able to accommodate all of my needs and did not need to go to other labs for other services, including egg retrievals, and my embryo transfer. I did not realize how important that was until I started the process. The office worked closely with my insurance and pharmacy for everything to be seamless. I also was able to schedule appointments early in the morning so my own work schedule was not disrupted. So many appointments and he was there for all of them. Within 2 months I was already preparing for my first egg retrieval. I had a total of 2 egg retrievals, both resulting in multiple healthy embryos. The second retrieval he adjusted my protocol based on the previous one which resulted in an even more successful outcome. He was available at all times (in person or on the portal if needed). He performed all of my ultrasounds personally and even if I was just getting bloodwork and he was walking down the hall he would say hello. It is helpful to say I am currently pregnant with my first child and although this was the goal and I am excited (even got high fives from the staff), the review is about the care I received as outcomes will vary for everyone.
