Dr Su recently performed surgery to enable me to urinate. I was referred to him by my primary care physician due to the complete blockage of my urinary track. I met him on my first appointment and recommended an water blast surgery. My only concern was that I had to wait two months for the surgery. The surgery went smoothly and I was sent home the same day. No complications and I am back to normal. Highly recommend Dr. Su if your prostate has enlarged and you need surgery. read more

It's honestly frightening that someone like this is allowed to practice medicine. I agree with all the other negative reviews out there. This was by far one of the worst medical experiences I've ever had. This so-called specialist was shockingly unprofessional, dismissive, and seemed to lack even the most basic understanding of his own field. Rude, condescending, and completely indifferent to my concerns. The way he interacts with patients felt careless and disrespectful, as though we were inconveniences rather than people seeking help. Avoid this indiviual at all costs. If you value your health and dignity, look elsewhere. I would never, under any circumstances, trust this individual with a procedure or operation. This guy blows in on a Sunday afternoon to discharge my father who unfortunately has many medical issues after assessing him for 5 minutes. Never saw him the few days he was there. Knew nothing of his history. Dr Su in all his brilliance caring more what some pencil pusher at an insurance company says wanted to discharge him with a catheter that kept popping out no matter what they did. At his age,80, he would have had to make a round trip right back to the hospital possibly not surviving. I appealed to Medicare (a right we all have) and lo and behold my father's regular physician as well as his surgeon came in the next morning and kept him in the hospital. Ultimately requiring surgery a few days later. Fortunately he's recovering and doing very well no thanks to Dr Su who is rude, incredibly arrogant, self serving, God like in his own mind. He's a bully and the thing that gets my back up are people like him that run over people who aren't able to advocate for themselves. Shame on you Dr Su! Dr. Su is a great doctor, I was diagnosed with cancer of the prostate, he recommended radiation therapy instead of surgery and I'm so glad that I went with radiation, the treatment had far less side effects than surgery, I know a lot of men who had the surgery and then still had to do radiation treatments, I just had my my blood test and my PSA came in at 1.3 and is still coming down. Dr. Su is very considerate and explains everything that I need to know so I give him five stars! read more

I did not see Dr. Brower with whom I actually saw back in 1987 and was a patient that is why I have returned only to find he has in fact retired. That experience was fantastic ! Now I saw Dr. Su. After waiting quite some time he saw me listened well and ordered a prostate scan both with and without contrast. Having 2 brothers that had very serious reactions to the die used for said with contract scan I called back and requested what is knows as a Bi Parametric scan that does not involve the die. A Bi parametric scan is just a ss good as a scan with contracts die and in fact is actually in many ways better is detecting both cancerous and non cancerous lesions which is the reason for my scan as result of high PSA. I was told by the office rep that Dr. Su refused me the alternative scans saying that a scan with contracts is the only way to determine cancer. NOT TRUE , I have a family member that is a urologist in Hawaii ( otherwise I would go there) and even a scan without can be better than nothing. When a Doctor has no regard for his patient's wishes and comfort level that is not care in my opinion. The office rep is trying to help find a doctor in the group that will accommodate this scan for me to no avail to date. Not happy. I would think the ultimate objective here would be to have some kind of diagnostic scan. read more

I would not recommend Dr Su for a trash man even he for sure is a horrible DOCTOR I had an untreated UTI and he made it even worse. He has anger issues and does not give patients any attention. He and his entire office are poor versions of an HMO. Only worrying about $$$ over patients! The main danger associated with untreated UTIs is that the infection may spread from the bladder to one or both kidneys. When bacteria attack the kidneys, they can cause damage that will permanently reduce kidney function. They are suppose to help people not cause further damage read more

I highly recommend Dr Su. I was referred by another urologist to Dr Su in Jan 2020 after discovering I had a significant sized kidney stone (2.7cm). This was too big to pass and required surgery to remove. During my first meeting with Dr Su, I found him to be very knowledgable and patient. He took time to explain the X-ray and CT scan results, explained the procedure primarily used to treat this size of stone and explained to me his experience with this surgery (PCNL). He answered all of the questions my wife and I had. He even let me know which other urologists in the area (very few) who also did this type of procedure should I want a second opinion. I decided to schedule the surgery with him at Hoag Irvine (he also does this procedure at Saddleback Memorial). My surgery was on June 2. He was very calm on the morning of the surgery and answered all my final questions. He also was great during his visits to me while I was hospitalized after surgery. It went very successfully and exactly as he had told me about, including recovery time. 3 weeks later, I feel great and have been given a clean bill of health. I highly recommend Dr Su! *Only challenge is that it is difficult to contact OC urology group. You'll have to wait a long time to get through for anything including scheduling first appointment. Disappointing, but worth the wait. read more

Dr. Su was great. I rate him at 5 star. His admin or office said they were going to transfer me then hung up immediately. This is not the first time i have had bad service from the front desk. Front office or return call back people: less than 1 star. That is why the rating is 3 stars. I think the front desk need to be trained on the phone. And answering service need to ask for patient's name when taking messages. It will cause less frustration for the caller. Thanks. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Daniel Su at the Irvine location of the practice to which he belongs, Orange County Urology Associates. He listened patiently. He seemed to genuinely care. He took measures to respect and protect my privacy. He looked through all my prior lab results, listened to my entire story, and conducted a physical exam. He came across to me as very knowledgeable (and I'm a relatively well-informed patient, so my standards are high). At no point did he come across to me as arrogant, uninterested, or condescending, the way doctors can sometimes (believe me, I've experienced more than my fair share). He worked with me. We came up with a plan that both of us felt confident in. I left feeling very satisfied with the quality of the healthcare I received. I would gladly go back to Dr. Su. read more

I did Hydrocelectomy in April 2019, surgeon - Daniel Su, M.D. I wasn't satisfied with the results of the surgery. After surgery I felt myself even worse than before it. My scrotal became full of blood because of vessel damage during that surgery. After that I had to do repeated surgery with another doctor and he said he drained one cup of blood from my scrotal. It was a very huge hematoma. That's why I felt awful after the first surgery with Dr. Daniel Su, had fever for almost one month and took pain killers several times a day. I wasn't able to sit, walk or even sleep. I hadn't had these problems before the first surgery. Besides it, during consultations Dr. Daniel Su was always late, didn't pay enough time to my questions. He suggested to do repeated surgery only after three weeks after the first one. But I decided to consult with another doctor and I did successful surgery with him. read more

I asked my physician for a Urologist, for bladder control, he recommended Dr.Su. While he is very nice, he did no exam, did not read my history or my concerns. A real pill pusher! The drug he recommended has serious side effects, including dizziness. In my history, I stated I have dizziness and am going to a balance rehab. When I picked up and paid for my prescription, the druggist informed me the medication causes extreme dizziness. Upon waking in the morning, stay in bed for 10 minutes before getting up. Quite a feat, if your symptoms are bladder control! After spending $40 on a generic medication, not happy. I will make sure my doctor does not refer anyone to Dr. Su again. read more

Agree with other reviewers in here. He does no exam and doesn't bother to look at paper work . I had found out I had fibroids in early fall 2018. Long story short my gyno put me on meds that stopped my periods but made me bleed a bit on and off continuously. Fast forward to dec 26 I ended up in the emergency room with bladder retention . My primary doctor was out of town so saw her partner through my hmo and he was not sure if fibroids were the cause . Dr is su didnot even look at my paperwork or examine me . Told me to leave catheter in a week and see what would happen. I was able to get the catheter out and then sadly three days later ended up in er again with retention . It was not making sense . So dr su did urologist tests but showed muscles were fine Still he didn't look at my paperwork . So then after much frustration, I Saw my regular primary and she had me go to a urgyno and new gyno . Had a full hysterectomy and low and behold my retention was gone . Dr su had said if he couldn't find a cause I'd have to self cath for life . I'm in my late 30s! He should have referred me elsewhere if it was beyond he expertise. Also his staff never put through requests for mri either. read more
