Tofu Steak and Spicy Seafood Soup
    Marie V.

Pictured is my dinner plate and across is my husband's Spicy Seafood Soup. I enjoyed this perfectly cooked and seasoned tofu steak, accompanied by not so sticky rice (which I like), sautéed mushrooms with other veggies, and sliced avocado with a small portion of creamy, sweet Kabocha. For starters, we had a light, delicate, and slightly, savory flavor shrimp tempura. Our waitress was very attentive and polite. City ambience with pleasant, relaxing music.

We decided to dine here one night after I got a sudden craving for sweet potato sushi (it's a constant craving!). We love the atmosphere of this sushi bar and the vegetarian sushi options. Sushi: Buddha's roll, OHIO roll, Mamenori roll The sushi was delicious! I mainly eat vegetarian sushi, but my wife order the Mamenori roll. She loved it, but picked off the eel. She was not a huge fan of the texture. The OHIO roll and Buddha's roll were both amazing! The OHIO roll is deep fried with walnut panko and comes with sweet sauce. I have never had a sweet potato roll like this before, but I can say 100% that it was absolutely delicious! The Buddha's roll is pretty hard to mess up. Sweet peanuts and avocado are always great! We also ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Moshi Asian Pockets. Both were very good! The Chicken Pad Thai has ALOT of onion, so be aware of that when ordering. By the time we were finished with the sushi we really didn't have much room for anything else! This was great heated up the next day. My wife loved the Moshi Asian Pockets and had no complaints about them! The waitress was very attentive and kind! We will definitely be back again!

    Dragon roll and Jmynt roll

I came here for dinner with a friend and we were sat immediately. The store seemed really clean and the staff was pretty friendly. They were very quick with service and brought out menus and water immediately. They had a very large menu, there is definitely something for everyone here. There are tons of options, even vegetarian options. We ordered the dragon roll and the Jmynt roll which were both really good. I would eat here again but it wouldn't be my first choice. It wasn't anything phenomenal and was a little on the pricier side since it was $40 with tip for two rolls. It was good sushi for sure but I wouldn't say $40 worthy.

My friend wanted to try this place for her birthday lunch yesterday. I was up for the 20 minute drive. It was a cute lil restaurant. I was the only one there at first. I as seated very quickly. I chose the outdoor seating. My friend arrived soon after. I ordered chirasi thru sushi chef , miso soup& pot stickers. The place is nice. Food was great. Definitely coming back. Highly recommended!!!

Amazing food!! The staff is awesome and great recommendations.

Ready for some dinner come on down to Moshi Sushi in Bexley
    Brian E.

Came down for some dinner this evening. Had a California Roll, Bexley Roll, Rainbow Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll and some Asian Pockets. Although the restaurant was full we were seated almost immediately. Server came right away, explained the daily special (tonight was Buy one get one 1/2 off ALL sushi rolls). Rolls came out quickly, well formed and ready to eat. The Asian were were also delicious. Restaurant was clean, servers pleasant and helpful.

    Love this place.

The food comes out pretty quick considering they are making the sushi by order. I love their sushi options. If I can, I'll get the otoro (fatty tuna) and it's some of the best around Columbus that I've tried so far. They also have delicious cocktails that are well balanced. The only downside is trying to find parking since it's in the Short North. If you're lucky, you can snag a street parking spot near the restaurant.

Midway through my meal, they came around to light a candle at the table, which added such an intimate touch, and gave cozy date night energy in the best way. In fact, I believe I was sitting next to a couple having their first date. 2. Plating (4.5/5) The presentation did not disappoint. Everything came out looking polished and thoughtfully arranged. The edamame stood out because they generous with the flaky salt, which I personally loved. Sometimes places hold back, but this was well seasoned. 3. Customer Service (2.5/5) This is where things started to fall apart a bit. I stood at the front for about 12 minutes before being acknowledged, and the restaurant was nearly empty. I had to make eye contact with someone in the kitchen just to be seated. Service at the table wasn't much better. It took about 15 minutes just to get my drink order taken (which I had to flag the waitress down to order), and by that time I was ready to order my whole meal. I ordered an appetizer along with a couple of sushi rolls and some sake. I'm not sure if the waitress wasn't thinking about it, but she brought my rolls out before she even brought out my appetizer or my drink. The inconsistency was noticeable and took away from the experience. 4. Overall Taste (4.5/5) The food absolutely carried! I ordered a sweet potato roll and the Hoonie Roll, which ended up being my favorite part of the meal. Both were fresh, flavorful, and really well-balanced. Paired with the edamame and sake, everything came together nicely. 5. Overall Experience (3.9/5 ) Taking everything into account, the experience lands just under a 4. The food and atmosphere were strong, but the service created a noticeable disconnect. It's definitely one of those places where you'd go back for the food, but you'd hope the service catches up next time.

We were there around noon on a Sunday so they were not very busy but that was okay with us. I had made a Resy reservation because they recommended it. The interior is decorated very well and the light is slightly dimmed for a nice ambiance! They have really nice, and solid, dinnerware and glassware. We started with the crab rangoon tarts, 3 in an order, and the edamame. The tart shells were so buttery and the filling was the usual luscious crab mix. The edamame comes with salt or spicy, we chose salt. There was enough for all 3 of us. The drinks we chose were the Gin & Tea and the Lychee Martini. Both were delicious and the foam on both were handshaken and so creamy. The Gin & Tea was a surprise winner and I highly recommend it. We ordered 5 rolls. The Naruto, Center, Fantastic, Tiger and Dancing Salmon. I love Naruto rolls without the rice and nori, instead wrapped in thinly sliced cucumber. This one was well made and stayed together when using my chopsticks. It allows the fish to shine! The Center Roll had spicy tuna and a topping of avocado, masago and spicy mayo. It's what you would expect and well done. The Tiger Roll has a mix inside and on top. Each bite was a little different and delicious. The Fantastic Roll was just that! It had a lobster salad inside and slightly scorched Japanese scallops on top. The smokiness of the scallop was surprising and delicate and complemented the sweeter lobster salad. The Dancing Salmon roll had eel inside and salmon outside. I'm not a huge eel fan but this roll I ate and enjoyed. I hadn't had good restaurant sushi since NYC and this was up there with it. And after that soft opening with a regular menu, this week they introduced an all-you-can-eat menu as well. So of course I got there as soon as I could. Quite an extensive menu for AYCE too, though not as big as their standard one. And full of interesting stuff. Nigiri, raw rolls, cooked rolls, deep-fried rolls, specialty rolls, apps, ramen, hibachi, and more. I wanted to try everything, but even though I arrived hungry I just couldn't. Maybe 25 years ago I could have eaten twice as much, and when the students hear about this they will clean them out. It's just down from where Japanese Oriental Restaurant used to be, and I used to save up and pig out there with my friends. Now I eat a bit less, but I still figure I had about $60 worth of sushi for $30. I started with seaweed salad- big portion, and very tasty. Fresh and a little spicy. Then unagi- two big pieces, excellent, tender and flavorful. Then maguro- good, melt in your mouth. Next I tried their "dragon eggs"- deep fried avocado with kani and tuna. OMG. Again, a big portion (two whole avocados, halved and stuffed. Finally, two big rolls: the High Street roll with spicy tuna, and the Seashore roll with salmon, kani, and more. Wow. Big, and tasty. Best sushi in town? No, but up there. Really good. Service was great. They open at noon, at least on weekdays, and I was the first one in. The decor is cool- it's an old house, and they have made it modern but with vintage touches. The bathrooms and waiting area are super cool. There's a bar off to one side, a sushi bar in back, and lots of sleek but comfy seating. Also a huge patio and courtyard out front. Free street parking out front (except during rush hour.) Also a small lot in back. Get here. If you like sushi, or other Japanese food, you'll like it. If you like a bargain, you'll love it. $27, yes, not cheap; but for sushi it's not bad, and for AYCE sushi it is a steal. A cool place to hang out, not far from campus, and drink, and eat good food till you're stuffed.

Atmosphere was modern and soothing. You can get ramen, cooked dishes like tempura, salads, all kinds of things. There's a full bar as well, and areas with cozy or romantic seating. The design was actually pretty cool, you could eat with a group or sit up at a bar by yourself and feel very comfortable either way. The sushi menu itself includes more traditional Japanese sushi, which honestly is what I'd recommend from the AYCE menu. They even have sashimi, which is cut thinly- which is fine, if you want more you can just order more, that prevents excessive waste. Most AYCE places wouldn't offer sashimi anyway. But the traditional sushi, sashimi and rolls were the ones we liked best. The more Americanized rolls with the alternative (non-nori) wraps were not as delicious, in our opinion. We couldn't figure out what it was, whether it was the wraps or an ingredient in the chopped sushi roll fillings. But there's a ton on this menu that was good. Will eat here again. Oh and a short note on large groups- maybe this is not the spot to go with a massive group? It's more of an intimate dining experience, although they do seem to allow big groups. I only mention this because I saw a negative review about slow service for large groups before we went and then the evening we went a group of maybe 10-12 college students impatiently waited by the door to be seated, even though the servers were polite and had to wait for multiple tables to clear at the same time to push together seat such a large group in a smallish restaurant- the patrons kept coming in and trying to sit at random tables before it was their turn. If you have a massive group I'd say split into multiple tables or maybe choose a different, larger or chain restaurant, like El Vaquero or Buffalo Wild Wings? Anyway I hope they left a good tip because the workers were very professional and the group was very large and very impatient.

I came here figuring I would get one of their hot dishes, on a cold day. They have a much bigger menu than the downtown one. I did not see pad Thai on the menu board behind the counter at all; after I ordered I did see a flyer about it. And maybe it's on the paper menu. But, I still wanted something hot, and was unimpressed by the sushi in the case in front of me or the descriptions on the board, so I went with hibachi. I assumed that meant they would make it fresh. Nope, this is premade too; maybe put together at the last minute, but all ingredients are premade. I don't know if I'd really call it hibachi; I would at least call it a hibachi bowl to distinguish it from something fresh. But anyway, I got steak and chicken. The price is a little lower than what you would get at hibachi places and the portion is a little smaller. It's rice and a few vegetables and some protein. It was actually not bad. Big chunks of meat, nicely cooked. Sauce of your choice on top. Carb of your choice underneath. It was up super quick, which was my first tip that it wasn't made right then. Service was great. Prices are OK. Bottled and canned drinks. I think they have some of their own lemonades and things. A few tables. Probably crazy at peak. Street parking but it's campus, so kind of limited. If I lived on campus, I'd probably come once in a while. But since I don't, when I want hibachi or sushi I will go farther afield.
