My friend and I both decided to try this place for dinner. They were kinda busy. A handful of people in line. We both got bulgogi rice bowls. It comes with egg, kimchi, and scallions. I kinda wish it came with sides to add more flavors to it. The kimchi was really good but without it, the dish lacks complexity. We also shared the furikake fries. Decent. Great addition to the Market. We got to meet "Ma" and she steered us where we wanted to go. The Box is special. It has many sections to fill with delicious stuff. You pick the protein. It's located inside the Eastern Market at the food court. There is no Kimbap left at all and they don't and won't make anymore either. :( :/ They only had one tuna kimchi and one spicy Krab Samgak Kimbap in the display. We got one tuna kimchi, spicy Krab and one spicy tuna, rose tteokboki and a regular tteokbokki too. $34.85. Do note what is cooked or filled with raw fish on the label. The spicy crab samgak Kimbap is cold and not good at all, hardly any spicy Krab inside either. The rose tteokbokki is quite good, nice heat and creamy flavor and peppery too. It's better than the regular tteokbokki, which is still good. The spicy crab samgak isn't so good, the regular tuna is pretty good. read more

On a Korean food mission. This time BULGOGI! Located inside the East Market, there are quite a few choices here...pizza, burgers, wings, Greek and Moroccan flavors. Oh my!! But I was on the hunt for Bulgogi, and this place had a 5-star rating. So the Bulgogi definitely gets 5 stars. It's the flavor I'm familiar with (much better than the last place I tried). Large portions for the money ($12) and came with steamed rice and scallions on top. The beef was the right slice and marinated perfectly. I wish there was better seating but I can't penalize Koso for that. Keeping it objective, the food is a 5 out of 5. There are plenty of sweet tooth offerings at the East Market after you are done with your meal. That's for another review! read more

Tiny, and I had to walk all the way around the market to find them. Look for the sign and a few stools, beside Winston's I think. Small menu, and I wanted every single thing on it. Plus: they sell banchan. My favorite part of a Korean meal, a la carte? Yes, please. I passed though, and got something else that jumped out at me on the menu: katsu. And: whoa. Probably the best I've had. Thick cutlet, perfectly coated and fried, savory sauce that wasn't overwhelming. Served over rice and soft scrambled eggs, plus onions. Everything perfectly balanced. Yum. Located inside east market with ample parking outside. It's like a north market concept but there's free parking in east market! Was in a rush and didn't get a chance to tour the whole east market but the short walk to Koso definitely make me feel like coming back to visit the other shops. I had the garlic wings, Korean wings and the spicy tuna hand roll. I was impressed as the wings were still crispy when I got home which is awesome! Even the Korean which had sauce is still crispy~ The Korean is not spicy, it's more sweet and tangy. We ordered three items: kimbap, tteokbokki, and shrimp udon. Kimbap was good and it was five out of five, but Tteokbokki had too much black pepper and udon was a bit bland and just spicy. I'm Korean and felt the latter two dishes were a bit off. My husband who is not Korean but likes Korean food thought the same. Please go easy on the black pepper for the Tteokbokki. read more

They are located within the East Market. The staffs are super nice. They have a limited table top seating at their stand. But there are plenty of seating area located on the second floor. Their menu is concise but capture most of the signature dishes. Rice, noodles, and some small plates. They also have some homemade kimchi and sushi roll available in the fridge on the side. I was gonna try the Katsu Sando, but I guess I went in a bit early and it is not available [emoji]. I go ahead and got a bowl of Udon, Kimbap and the Tempura Mushroom. Everything taste so good. First walking up, the menu on the board and what is taped to the counter don't match - so that was a little confusing. I ended up going for the bulgogi rice bowl. This was delicious and filling. After I ordered and was waiting, I saw someone's number get called and take a brunch sandwich... and it looked insanely good. I am so so happy that there's finally katsu sando in Columbus and it is GOOD! This was my first time coming to East Market, so I've only tried one item from Koso. The sandwich came out piping hot and the sauce was glistening. There's no seating at the restaurant but there's an area with tables where you can sit to eat like a food court. As I walked with my food, people stopped me to ask where I got the sandwich because it looked delicious! I'm excited for more shops to open up in the East Market. Parking: there's a free parking lot in front of the building (like North market but free!). It was pretty large and there were a lot of spots still open when I went around noon on a Saturday. But I can definitely see it getting full as the market becomes more popular. read more

One of my best friends came to visit from Paris with her husband and two kids and I took them to Koso to try Korean street food. Everything was so good ! The kids (ages 2 and 7) especially loved the corn topped with cheese and the furikake fries. The wings were excellent and we got several of the rice dishes as well, all delicious! The worker who took the order was so sweet as well, seeing we had the two kids, they let us sit in the cafeteria section and brought us the dishes as they were ready. Rice determines the overall quality of a bibimbap dish but they would rather save money by using a worst kind of cheap rice of the lowest quality ----- dry, no flavor, poor texture, etc. Chicken they use tastes and looks like a pre-cut/frozen type ---- again, dry, no flavor, poor texture, etc. Just horrible food that needs to be justifiably criticized! Shame. Service: a long wait ----- longer than 15 mins. Ambiance: saw a young cashier woman there who was pointed out by a supervisor (?) that she mixed up an order (?) started crying. This place is such a welcome addition to East Market!!! The menu had such a fun variety that we couldn't help but overindulge... between the four of us, we shared a couple sushi rolls, udon, pork katsu sando, chicken curry katsu sando, garlic chicken wings, brunch sando (similar to a banh mi), and spicy pickled daikon. My favorite was the curry chicken katsu sando but honestly everything was delicious and I would get every single item again. Portions are generous (and so reasonably priced!), and we had plenty to take home as leftovers. If I had more stomach space today I would've wanted to try the Korean wings and bibimbap... but I guess that'll just have to go on my next order. Make sure to ask about their homemade drinks too! I didn't see it on the menu but the owner brought out a cherry blossom schrub for us to try, which was this mildly sweet carbonated drink with floral/fruity tones, and it was SO GOOD.
