Sesame chicken
Nancy L.

I love this place! The portions are generous and the food is very good. My husband loves the chicken pho and gets it every time. I ordered the sesame chicken with no sesame seeds. Order at the counter and wait a few minutes with a pager. This place is always busy. The food speaks for itself.

At first Tai's really blew my socks off and I was so shocked at the amount of food they give! Over time its novelty wore off and I saw it for what it really was. The food is just alright but would be a great spot if you're either really hungry or really hungover/drunk. The noodles hit the spot but can be a bit slimy. I think the roll I ordered really killed it for me and I just haven't been back since.

Pad Thai

Very large portion, bland with not taste. Noodles were falling apart there was no sauce or anything on it really.

Huge portions you really can get one plate for two people Great value food is good service is New York style the ambiance of the place it is loud so if you're looking for a quiet night this is not your place but you will leave full

Tai's Asian Bistro is a must visit everytime I'm in town. The price to portion ratio is amazing and it's not too far from OSU campus. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTroY9n3D/

The portions are enormous, but less than average in taste. It reminds me of fast food asian food at the mall. Had a bit of a stomach ache from all the grease. If you're looking for that type of food this is the place.

A friend was in town and suggested we meet at Tai Asian Bistro to eat and catch up on the day before thanksgiving. Ordered crab rangoon (not pictured) and spring rolls. The spring rolls (pictured) were BURNT. Took one bite and could not eat anymore as they also tasted BURNT and overcooked . Their website states: At Tai's Asian Bistro and Sushi in Columbus, OH, everything is prepared with high quality, rich taste and fresh food waiting for you to be served." Yeah, not so much.

Love this place, one of my favorites in Columbus! Placed an online to-go order which was ready for pickup in 15 minutes even during the dinner rush. Food was delicious (always recommend the chicken pad thai which I ordered with crab rangoon). Serving size is massive too; usually enough to split or have 2 meals. Great atmosphere inside the restaurant, and a convenient location with ample parking. Will be back.

Love the food, but it's a little chaotic to enter immediately and go up and order, there are tons of options and it would be nice if you were able to take a menu, go sit down, and then order.

Pho (#3, beef only)

What a great place!! We went for lunch after church on a Sunday afternoon and we were SO impressed!!! Huge portions, flavor bombs, fun atmosphere, and a big menu (something for everyone)! I got pho (and I'm a bit of a pho snob)...it was DELICIOUS!! Husband got a combo lo mein, it was HUGE. Mom got shrimp pad Thai, said it had more shrimp than she could eat. But my highlight was the spicy dumpling app...so unique, ginger-forward and big enough to share between the three of us. Will DEF be back soon! 10/10 recommend! I will say, it's better if you know what you're walking into. It's order-at-the-counter, and our meal was ready in phases. We decided not to be irritated about that. And it was a bit loud for us, but it's very near campus. So you know, When in Rome and all. But my goodness, please check this place out!

Another hidden gem within the Columbus area. Back for my yearly visit! Love this restaurant as it serve some of the best Asian cuisine in the Columbus area. They offer many different Asian style dishes and I don't think I've had a bad one yet. Got the General Tso's chicken this time around. It has a great crunch with just the right heat with it. Note if you love spicy get them extra wet. If you're looking for some punishment get them extra wet and spicy. They loved to be challenged in the kitchen. Staff is quick, nice and ready to go. Both sides of the kitchen are always booming. Yes this place does have a small seating section for sushi lovers too. Most of the sushi's I've had so far have been pretty good.

It's been a awhile since I've been here. As alot of the reviews have mentioned, this place offers humongous portion sizes of their food. There's also a lot of variety for you to pick from. Their menu spans from traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, to Japanese. They also offer Boba teas. The food is made fresh to order, however the taste can vary, depending upon the day and chef. At least that's what I've noticed. It's always decent enough though. I've had 'excellent' there before but sometimes it's just not fantastic even when I order the exact same thing. Pricing has gone up through the years, but I think it's still very reasonable and a good value. The place is spacious with lots of seating. Basically you order at the counter and they give you a buzzer. You have to clear your own table after eating. We came for lunch and there was hardly anybody there on a weekday. It gets packed during the dinner though. They do ALOT of carry out business too. There was enough leftover for me to have an actual lunch and dinner the next day. Check it out if you're ever on Lane Avenue and have a huge hunger for asian. Or during the holidays after you finish shopping at the shops of lane.

Delicious food - lots of options to pick from. Friendly staff and quick service. Easy to find with lots of parking. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Delicious variety of Asian cuisines, served piping hot. Servings are usually quite large, enough for 2 to 3 people. Highly recommend.

Has anyone try their ramen? Are their ramen overcook like their other noodle dishes?

I've had it once & the noodles were not overdone.

I arrived at noon and the parking lot was already pretty full for this very unassuming Chinese…read morerestaurant from the outside. There is plenty of free parking which is nice. When I walked in the atmosphere was great, I could smell good food and heard conversations. There's a large area with large round tables to right and to the left are booths and almost all of them were full. The menu was a mix of Americanized Chinese, traditional Chinese and included Dim Sum as well. There were a number of dishes we didn't know much about and there were dishes being enjoyed by other customers that looked delicious. The wait staff was more than happy to explain the dishes and/or show us on the menu what someone was eating. They took very good care of us and shared the tasks of bringing our food, filling water, and just checking in. Now the food. The food came out very quickly! We all received a well filled bowl of rice. First out was the string beans, perfectly cooked, not droopy, and the flavors of garlic and hot peppers. Even though the peppers were there the heat was not overpowering at all. Next was the shredded pork with garlic sauce. The textures of the pork and bamboo shoots were a nice contrast and the sauce was perfectly balanced and craveable. The special grilled lamb, I was told, was some of the best in the city. It was tender and well spiced. Even when he said he was full he just couldn't stop eating it. For the dim sum order we got the shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, scallion pancake, and sesame balls and they brought a soy sauce and a chili oil with them. The shrimp dumplings were tender but the dough was pretty sticky. I think this is normal and they were tasty with some of the oil on them. The scallion pancakes were very thin and gummy, this is the only thing we ordered that I would not get again. The soup dumplings were very small but packed a lot of flavor. The dough did stick together a bit so unfortunately some of the soup did leak out. The sesame balls were the hit and we're just the right amount of sweetness that we considered them desert. They were large, at least 2" in size, with a wonderful sesame seed covered exterior and a soft, sweet center. Chuan Jiang Hao Zi is a wonderful somewhat hidden gem. If you want traditional Chinese cuisine including all the different offal they have it and I would totally try it here over anyone else if I was brave enough. Portions were a good size for the price. I highly recommend checking them out!

Lei's Asian Bistro (Polaris)…read more Would I spend my own money here again? Yes--but I'd order differently. Quick Facts * Price: $44.71 after tax for two entrées, appetizer, soup, and drink. * Parking: Large shopping center lot. * Atmosphere: Quiet, spacious, clean. * Wait: Food arrived hot and in a reasonable amount of time. * Value: Good portion sizes for the price. * Lunch Deal: Free soup with an entrée Monday-Saturday (11-3), with the option to add an egg roll for $1. Lei's Asian Bistro feels like a neighborhood restaurant. Nothing flashy, but clean, comfortable, and somewhere you could easily sit and enjoy dinner. Every dish arrived hot, and the portions felt worth the price. Crab Rangoon The wrappers were crispy and fried well, but the filling was heavier on cream cheese than crab. The sweet-and-sour sauce was sweeter than I usually like. I wouldn't reorder these. Wonton Soup 1/2 The broth was decent, and I liked the wonton noodles. The pork was the issue for me. The broth contained very little pork, and the filling inside the wontons had a dense, chewy texture with a flavor I couldn't enjoy. I ended up removing the filling and eating the wrappers instead. Pork Singapore Noodles The seasoning reminded me of chicken ramen noodles. Not bad--just not something I'd specifically come back for. The pork, however, was excellent. The cut and seasoning were my favorite part of the entire meal and made me interested in trying another pork dish. Chicken Lo Mein I didn't taste it myself, but my dining partner described it as flavorful and said they'd absolutely order it again. Final Thoughts Lei's didn't win me over with the appetizers, but it showed enough promise that I'd come back for another pork entrée and let the rest of the menu make its case. Confidence Level: 6.5/10 Recommended: Pork entrées, Chicken Lo Mein. Skip (for me): Crab Rangoon, Wonton Soup.

Plus, I figured hibachi can take awhile, and I usually don't have a long time for lunch. Today I had a little more time, and I made a point to head over. It is a bit out of the commercial sprawl at the corner. Look for the food truck, that's the first thing I saw, and it helped me find where to turn in. I wasn't sure if there would be dine in, but there is, plenty of seating inside and out. Inside there are seats at the counter, plus booths, plus I think a couple tables. Menu is pretty basic: hibachi and a few sides. I got steak and chicken, with fried rice, and you pick two vegetables so I picked cabbage and bean sprouts. You get a Yum Yum sauce, and you can add others, but I didn't need them. And the sauce container they gave me was plenty big. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, the chicken was tender and flavorful, cooked in a nice sauce. The fried rice was great. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. And it all came out in about five minutes. They had a steady stream of carry out customers, but they still got mine on the grill, apparently as soon as I ordered it. Fast and good, and competitively priced for hibachi. A big portion, but not a huge, two days' worth of leftovers portion. But I was stuffed and couldn't finish it all. When I saw the drink cooler with just water and a few juices, I figured I'd have to go with those, but they do have fountain drinks. And they actually have a pretty good variety, cola, diet cola, cream soda, blueberry, cherry I think, and a few others. Anyway, several pleasant surprises, the food lived up to its reputation, I was in and out fast, and for not a whole lot of money in this day and age. I will be back.
