Mixed review here. I'd say 3.5 overall and has potential for improvement. I'd list them specifically: 1. Uncertain if they accept reservations so we tried calling multiple times prior to visit. No answer, went straight to VM. Still, we just went. 20 min wait upon arrival no biggie this was 7pm. 2. There's like a split dining area. It looks big. But they weren't full in capacity. 3. 15-20 mins have gone by after we were seated. No one approached us. Though there's quite a few servers walking around. We were about to get up & walk out when the server apologized and took our order. We were warned that it will be about 20 mins for the sushis to come out. We're like fine we'll give it a shot. We already waited & we opted for the set B dinner that has all the sashimi. 4. We waited patiently, apps came decently timely. We ordered almost in bulk to avoid waiting. 5. We ordered mostly sashimis and appetizers and they were amazing. However the sweet shrimp was limited to only one piece per person! It was quite filling and everything was delish. I hope things improve given they are a fairly new establishment. My tummy was still happy..

We love a good AYCE sushi restaurant and so glad we got one in Columbus! There was a decent crowd but thankfully no wait on a weekend evening. They've got two tiers (the primary difference being with or without sashimi) and we just went with the standard. All the rolls were fantastic. The nigiri you can see has a great fish-to-rice ratio - exactly what you want to see. Service was pretty fast all around. Overall, would highly recommend!!

Great appetizers, excellent sushi, very attentive serving staff. Nice decorations and spacious restaurant. The rolls are very big - almost wish it was smaller so we can try different things We are stuffed but will come back - maybe for lunch

Takumi Sushi just opened up on Sawmill Road in Dublin, & it is a must visit!!! This is by far the absolute nicest & highest quality all you can eat spot I've ever been to; I love it! The aesthetic and vibes are immaculate; this is an amazing date or celebration spot! The service is super quick & very friendly! Everything is delicious! Starting with some soju, sake or tea and apps is the way to go! The passionfruit tea is unreal & you can never go wrong with crab rangoon! I really like the ikayaki; this is something different from what I normally order, but it is cooked to perfection! All of the rolls are fresh and fun; the Cherry Blossoms is a must! The hibachi is extra tasty & I like that it's not such a huge portion, so you can try all the other goodies! The ramen is cooked over an 8 hour span, it has a great smoky flavor & the noodles are awesome! You need to come here ASAP; I'll be going back real soon!

Great place!! Trying out the first AYCE sushi spot I've been to in Columbus, I was excited to see it's in the plaza of one of my favorite taco spots. I came at 2:30pm and sat in the corner since I had my 5 month old son with me. $26.95 for all you can eat with a very expansive menu to pick from. The place indeed has an elegant feel which I prefer to the revolving sushi options (Hokkaido and Kura) in Columbus. Soft music playing and It's well decorated with soft lighting. I started with Chicken Katsu and Gyoza for appetizers. The Katsu was super crunchy and the perfect portion size. It was served with a sweet tangy dipping sauce. The Gyoza was again perfectly seared and served with Sweet vinegar soy dipping sauce. Takumi Ramen with Pork belly was on par with the best I've had in Columbus. The egg was perfect! The pork belly had an amazing sear and flavor. Just the right amount of spice. Honestly it was amazing. The wait time for my next round was a little long. My waiter made a few passes to check on me but then I didn't see him for a while. Next was Crab Rangoon, Tiger Roll and 2 pieces of Tamago Nigiri. The Rangoon had a unique shape but was super crunchy with apricot dipping sauce. My only criticism would be the wait time. It took much longer for my Tiger Roll to come out. I heard another table tell their waiter that they wanted their check. It seemed it was too long of a wait for them. The Tiger Roll came and I was impressed. Very fresh and attention to detail and presentation was obvious. Even though it took a little long, it was worth the wait. I did not get a chance to try the mochi ice cream because my son started getting a little grumpy. I'll have to try that next time around. I will say for an all you can eat sushi place, aside from the waiting time, this was definitely worth the money. I will say I prefer this over the conveyor belt sushi places because it does all come out fresh and you can tell that there is more attention spent on detail and fresh ingredients. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

I travel to Columbus on a regular basis and always look for new restaurants to try. I went last week with a co-worker for the soft opening. I wasn't expecting much from the area where it is located. Stepping inside, it is much nicer than I expected. It was more like a finer sit-down restaurant. Prior to the opening, I was going to another AYCE sushi restaurant. For a little more money at Takumi, the food is a lot better. We tried various dishes and fishes with nothing but great flavors. We returned this week (with 2 co-workers) and tried more of the menu. We enjoyed everything we tried. One thing to note is that everything is made to order, so be patient on the food coming out, it's not buffet or mass produced food. They focus on quality and not just quantity.

Came on their soft opening day! Taking over the old Sunflower spot, Takumi Sushi is a higher-end AYCE sushi restaurant where you order in rounds instead of buffet style. Opening day felt surprisingly calm compared to other recent AYCE openings, though I'm not sure if that will last. I was very impressed with the clean, upscale atmosphere. We came for a late lunch ($26.95) before 3pm, when most (but not all) items are available. Standout items included the carpaccios, which are essentially sashimi with a yuzu dressing, and the chirashi don, both available during lunch. The fish quality is definitely high-end, and the professional sushi chefs clearly know what they're doing. We're excited to come back and hope they continue to do well!

Run don't walk to the newest AYCE Sushi restaurant in Columbus. Visited on their second night of their soft opening and was treated to medley of sushi delights. Highlights included their fried soft shell crab and King Lonster roll. Their nigiri and sashimi fish was cold and like butter! Honest pricing. And the rooms are beautifully appointed.

This is by far the best and freshest sushi I've ever had. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. The flavors were amazing, and every dish looked like a piece of art. Definitely one of my favorite spots now. Highly recommend!

This place was fun to try. It was a beautiful atmosphere and spectacular service. Okay so let me get to the review. I am a stickler for food and this place was our first AYCE sushi experience in Columbus. The food was fresh! It's true the food is made to order so that already beats so many other restaurants. I will say though some dishes were hit or miss. Like the crab ragoons hit! The shumai hit! The seaweed salad the miso soup hit! The sushi and ramen was so fresh and good. The ramen pork belly wasn't the best and our steak hibachi was mid. The fried rice was decent but the steak was tough. It's is very expensive for dinner. We probably wouldn't come back because of the price point. But definitely would come if someone paid for our meal. I thought the nigiri was so fresh and yummy. The plates everything. So if I'm being honest this place was really good to try but the price point might not be worth it depending on how hungry you are. We didn't like that all of the fried food had so much coating.. Tried to cover everything in this hopefully it helps you. Freshness and delicacy was good certain dishes did miss but for the price point might not be worth the dinner price.

Midway through my meal, they came around to light a candle at the table, which added such an intimate touch, and gave cozy date night energy in the best way. In fact, I believe I was sitting next to a couple having their first date. 2. Plating (4.5/5) The presentation did not disappoint. Everything came out looking polished and thoughtfully arranged. The edamame stood out because they generous with the flaky salt, which I personally loved. Sometimes places hold back, but this was well seasoned. 3. Customer Service (2.5/5) This is where things started to fall apart a bit. I stood at the front for about 12 minutes before being acknowledged, and the restaurant was nearly empty. I had to make eye contact with someone in the kitchen just to be seated. Service at the table wasn't much better. It took about 15 minutes just to get my drink order taken (which I had to flag the waitress down to order), and by that time I was ready to order my whole meal. I ordered an appetizer along with a couple of sushi rolls and some sake. I'm not sure if the waitress wasn't thinking about it, but she brought my rolls out before she even brought out my appetizer or my drink. The inconsistency was noticeable and took away from the experience. 4. Overall Taste (4.5/5) The food absolutely carried! I ordered a sweet potato roll and the Hoonie Roll, which ended up being my favorite part of the meal. Both were fresh, flavorful, and really well-balanced. Paired with the edamame and sake, everything came together nicely. 5. Overall Experience (3.9/5 ) Taking everything into account, the experience lands just under a 4. The food and atmosphere were strong, but the service created a noticeable disconnect. It's definitely one of those places where you'd go back for the food, but you'd hope the service catches up next time.

We were there around noon on a Sunday so they were not very busy but that was okay with us. I had made a Resy reservation because they recommended it. The interior is decorated very well and the light is slightly dimmed for a nice ambiance! They have really nice, and solid, dinnerware and glassware. We started with the crab rangoon tarts, 3 in an order, and the edamame. The tart shells were so buttery and the filling was the usual luscious crab mix. The edamame comes with salt or spicy, we chose salt. There was enough for all 3 of us. The drinks we chose were the Gin & Tea and the Lychee Martini. Both were delicious and the foam on both were handshaken and so creamy. The Gin & Tea was a surprise winner and I highly recommend it. We ordered 5 rolls. The Naruto, Center, Fantastic, Tiger and Dancing Salmon. I love Naruto rolls without the rice and nori, instead wrapped in thinly sliced cucumber. This one was well made and stayed together when using my chopsticks. It allows the fish to shine! The Center Roll had spicy tuna and a topping of avocado, masago and spicy mayo. It's what you would expect and well done. The Tiger Roll has a mix inside and on top. Each bite was a little different and delicious. The Fantastic Roll was just that! It had a lobster salad inside and slightly scorched Japanese scallops on top. The smokiness of the scallop was surprising and delicate and complemented the sweeter lobster salad. The Dancing Salmon roll had eel inside and salmon outside. I'm not a huge eel fan but this roll I ate and enjoyed. I hadn't had good restaurant sushi since NYC and this was up there with it. The quality of the fish, the server, the host and the overall atmosphere will bring go me back!!

And after that soft opening with a regular menu, this week they introduced an all-you-can-eat menu as well. So of course I got there as soon as I could. Quite an extensive menu for AYCE too, though not as big as their standard one. And full of interesting stuff. Nigiri, raw rolls, cooked rolls, deep-fried rolls, specialty rolls, apps, ramen, hibachi, and more. I wanted to try everything, but even though I arrived hungry I just couldn't. Maybe 25 years ago I could have eaten twice as much, and when the students hear about this they will clean them out. It's just down from where Japanese Oriental Restaurant used to be, and I used to save up and pig out there with my friends. Now I eat a bit less, but I still figure I had about $60 worth of sushi for $30. I started with seaweed salad- big portion, and very tasty. Fresh and a little spicy. Then unagi- two big pieces, excellent, tender and flavorful. Then maguro- good, melt in your mouth. Next I tried their "dragon eggs"- deep fried avocado with kani and tuna. OMG. Again, a big portion (two whole avocados, halved and stuffed. Finally, two big rolls: the High Street roll with spicy tuna, and the Seashore roll with salmon, kani, and more. Wow. Big, and tasty. Best sushi in town? No, but up there. Really good. Service was great. They open at noon, at least on weekdays, and I was the first one in. The decor is cool- it's an old house, and they have made it modern but with vintage touches. The bathrooms and waiting area are super cool. There's a bar off to one side, a sushi bar in back, and lots of sleek but comfy seating. Also a huge patio and courtyard out front. Free street parking out front (except during rush hour.) Also a small lot in back. Get here. If you like sushi, or other Japanese food, you'll like it. If you like a bargain, you'll love it. $27, yes, not cheap; but for sushi it's not bad, and for AYCE sushi it is a steal. A cool place to hang out, not far from campus, and drink, and eat good food till you're stuffed.

Atmosphere was modern and soothing. You can get ramen, cooked dishes like tempura, salads, all kinds of things. There's a full bar as well, and areas with cozy or romantic seating. The design was actually pretty cool, you could eat with a group or sit up at a bar by yourself and feel very comfortable either way. The sushi menu itself includes more traditional Japanese sushi, which honestly is what I'd recommend from the AYCE menu. They even have sashimi, which is cut thinly- which is fine, if you want more you can just order more, that prevents excessive waste. Most AYCE places wouldn't offer sashimi anyway. But the traditional sushi, sashimi and rolls were the ones we liked best. The more Americanized rolls with the alternative (non-nori) wraps were not as delicious, in our opinion. We couldn't figure out what it was, whether it was the wraps or an ingredient in the chopped sushi roll fillings. But there's a ton on this menu that was good. Will eat here again. Oh and a short note on large groups- maybe this is not the spot to go with a massive group? It's more of an intimate dining experience, although they do seem to allow big groups. I only mention this because I saw a negative review about slow service for large groups before we went and then the evening we went a group of maybe 10-12 college students impatiently waited by the door to be seated, even though the servers were polite and had to wait for multiple tables to clear at the same time to push together seat such a large group in a smallish restaurant- the patrons kept coming in and trying to sit at random tables before it was their turn. If you have a massive group I'd say split into multiple tables or maybe choose a different, larger or chain restaurant, like El Vaquero or Buffalo Wild Wings? Anyway I hope they left a good tip because the workers were very professional and the group was very large and very impatient.
