Been a big Mosley's fan since they opened their store in Daphne. Their meat has always been better than any choices in the Fairhope area. Purchased five bacon wrapped filets for Christmas, a miserable experience, they all had a lot of gristle. Probably 60% was edible. Only reason I gave 2 stars because previous experience has been pretty positive. Ruined our Christmas meal. read more

Although I have purchased meat here for a number of years and always found their products and selection to be great, I cannot continue to shop here any more. Everyone is rude and unfriendly. The butchers act like they could care less if you come in and seldom offer a greeting or a smile. The cashiers are either rude or not particularly attentive. Their goods are top quality and are costly. I refuse to spend money with people who do not appreciate my business. I now drive to Farm Fresh Meats in Robertsdale and get the same great quality meat from a business that acts happy to serve me and appreciates our business. Perhaps people of Fairhope and Montrose like to be treated by snobby rude butchers who seem indifferent to their customers. I don't and won't spend my money here any more. read more

Now, whenever I come to visit I am also excited to stop by Mosley's and get some good grub for some amazing meals. Do NOT waste your time on any special order meats from these fools! I called three weeks ago asking to special order two bone-in legs of lamb for a large dinner party I was planning. Then, I called back just this past week to confirm my order since I know that cut of meat is getting harder and harder to find locally and I like to avoid Murphey's Law whenever possible. I spoke with Mandy this past week, and she said she needed to call me back after speaking with someone else first so I gave her my number, getting a call back within an hour confirming it would be no problem getting my lamb on Saturday as already planned. When I got there this morning (03/23/2024) and identified myself and what I was there to get Mandy exclaimed "It's not our fault but it didn't come in yesterday!" I pointed-out I made a special trip from Mobile and that information would have been nice to have yesterday when they knew, but Mandy had no more excuses except to keep blaming it on their distributor (while I'm thinking to myself "I didn't make a special order from any distributors"). Then, I asked her to check the other Mosley's in Mobile, which she did and told me they didn't have it either and offered to call around. Mandy then calls a place all the way over in Robertsdale after I already told her I live in Mobile. At that point I simply left in disgust to find what I need on my own and was lucky enough to find a nearby grocery store which just happened to have what I needed in stock. Again, bone-in leg of lamb is not easy to find anymore for whatever reasons. Needless to say, Mosley's will NEVER get another chance at my business. FYI: I only give reviews when a place does an excellent job of impressing me or exactly the opposite. read more

We occasionally stop in for meat and frozen foods. They have fresh meat and it's an actual butcher shop where you can get steaks cut to order. They have things like stuffed chicken breasts and stuffed pork chops that are ready to throw on the grill with no prep work. They have a nice little selection of frozen foods and oils, rubs and seasonings as well. Their prices are on par with the grocery stores. My favorite thing about the place is that they now sell Big Green Eggs and eggcessories. Their prices are less compared to most other local distributors. I think a conveggtor (formerly called a plate setter) is about $70 for a large, compared to $80-$90 at other places. The grills are less expensive too, and they sell custom tables. A large BGE is only $699. I think I paid almost $900 for mine in January of 2008. Neither of those prices include the stand, table, extender racks, ash tool, etc. Mine is still going strong almost 10 years later and I've only had to replace the felt around the edges and the thermometer. If you're in the market for fresh cut meat or a grill that will last forever, this is the place to go! read more

It seems like I either cook for 1 or 101 and Mosley´s gets overlooked too often on my go-to place. They have fresh, ready-to-cook items that serve just the right size. With the holidays coming I had to pop in and see what my options are for Thanksgiving. A smoked turkey sliced for sandwiches with aioli, cranberry and lots of veggies sounds perfect for a relaxed-themed holiday. So I received a gift card to Mosleys that I won at the BCSO Family Day and I finally got around to try to use UT today. I had never been in Mosleys and was excited to check it out. However, That excitement was short lived. It was approximately three p m And I went in to check out their "fine neats" and use my gift card but, Someone had apparently mopped the floor in front of the meat counter and blocked it off so I couldn't even get to the counter to see their meat. No one asked if we needed any help, and To add insult to injury, Some other customer remarked that I had to walk all the way around the store but that was o k cause it looked like I could use the exercise. Now, I always try to patronize local Small businesses whenever I can. But after my experience today I would rather throw this gift card in the garbage. Then use it at their store. If it had been almost closing time and I was last minute coming in and they had mopped, I would completely understand because I waited till the last minute. That was not the case. Not only was the customer service Complete crap, The most exotic thing you will find in their store is duck. I don't know who owns it or who runs it. But they should really talk to their employees and go over customer service training because they have zero. I was extremely disappointed And will not be returning read more

Purchased a 15lb brisket a couple weeks ago. I am always skeptical about purchasing brisket. Having cooked wagyu for competitions, I tend to have high expectations. The brisket from Mosley's did not disappoint. Probably to best non-wagyu brisket I have ever smoked. read more

So, I'll let you in on a little secret. I don't always plan ahead, and I change my mind about things at the last minute. Why am I telling you this? Well, besides being an amazing butcher and specialty shop, with a decent little wine selection. Besides having great quality meat; Mosely's is my last minute lifesaver. You think I'm exaggerating. Wednesday, five pm, day before Thanksgiving, I turn to my boyfriend and say, "Guess what you are not having for dinner tomorrow?" (For all my big talk I had no idea how to cook a turkey, and hadn't bought or ordered one.). I broke down and told the incredibly busy man behind the counter at Mosely's this as I was picking out some beautiful filets for dinner. Without missing a beat, he said, "I have a couple of smoked turkeys left." My answer showed how hard I had been looking for a cooked turkey, because it was, "When was this smoked?" Turned out it was a few hours before that it was finished and they always try to keep something back for last minute people like me. My heroes. The filets, as allows, were amazing. The smoked turkey was very good, and Mosely's saved my Thanksgiving, or at least let me save face. read more

Stopped in for the 1st time ever today and I'm glad I did! Aside from the wonderful aroma when I walked through the door I was greeted with a smile. I had an idea of what I wanted for dinner when I walked in, but that quickly changed as I looked at all of my options! Finally I decided on chicken breasts stuffed with asparagus and provolone cheese. As a side dish their homemade broccoli cheese casserole was by far one of the best I've ever had! All in all dinner was spectacular and I am glad that I walked through the their doors today! I will most certainly return and in fact I look forward to it:) read more

It's a bit difficult to locate this business from the road. but that is mostly due to the zoning laws in Daphne. That being said, holy cow the prices are crazy high here! A stuffed jalapeno costs $2 each and a crab cake costs $5 each. Both tasted good when cooked, but definitely overpriced. The butcher selection is pretty good, but again overpriced. I requested and paid for a glazed, spiral-cut ham for Easter as I had out of town guests. As has been previously indicated in other reviews, their prices are high. I had used them in the past at their Mobile store and was pleased. On this occasion, I did not receive a glazed ham. I called and informed them and was told, "the butcher must have gotten one from the wrong pile". I was also told that I could bring it back, but they were too busy to bring the correct product to me. (I had not requested them to do this). I had visitors and could not return to the store at that time. The had was the protein for my Easter meal. The person on the phone was not exactly rude, but it was apparent they did not intend to make any effort on their part to correct the error. I will never shop there again! read more
