I just found my new favorite place to watch sports games. There are TVs everywhere, the beer, cider, wine, and cocktail list is extensive, the food is delicious, and the service is awesome. Plus, the space is huge and accommodates large parties very well. Back to the food... The pretzel has a reputation that proceeds it and is well-deserved, the cheese curds equally good, the Reuben sandwich was outrageously delicious (thanks to our server for recommending it), and the beignets were the perfect end to a delicious meal. This place used to be a Wild Rover and got closed down for some time (likely due to Covid). Now it's a very nice an modern beer hall restaurant...if that's what you call it. I ordered a Pilsner and it was just right for the occasion, light, crisp and delicious. I asked the waiter what are the favorites on the food menu and he highly recommended the "Original Smash Burger" and the "PB & "Bacon Burger". I'm disappointed to not have better things to say, but we and the large group we were with had a horrible experience here. Came to watch a football game in a reserved space at the back of the restaurant and we were all pretty shocked at the lack of service. The space itself is lovely - wide open, tons of TV screens, much improved over the ugly, dark space that was here before. Menu was interesting with plenty of options. Sadly, not a whole lot more positive to say. We watched an entire football game and I have never had such bad service. The waiter was friendly - not sure if he was just overwhelmed or what was going on. It was almost impossible to get service. Over the course of an ENTIRE football game, I was served two beers. That's it. It took over an hour to get the first one and longer to get the second one. The food I ordered never did get served. I'd heard not great things about this place from friends. Came on a weekday as we happened to be in the area, had the pup with us and were hungry. It's a huge location. Tons of seating. Service was very friendly. Food was pretty darn good. We ordered the chicken wings, buffalo style and the sauce was super tasty. My only comment would be that the wings themselves were really on the small side. So it wasn't perceived value. Bigger meatier wings would be nice. Aside from that the smash burgers were yummy, fries good, server was great. Cider and beer selection were nice. Holy moly, this is the best reason for me to go to Kirkland! Went today to try out their lunch and it was nothing short of spectacular. We were greeted & seated immediately, I felt like the food came before we were even done ordering it, and everybody there is so sweet and kind They still have limited menu but we tried the cucumber salad which was marinated in a soy vinaigrette and every bite of cucumber had perfect crunch. The roasted carrots with burrata were sizzling hot and full of flavor. Don't even get me started on the pear salad - it's seriously the best salad I've ever had! I hadn't heard of them which I told everyone they need to work on their marketing. I went for a networking event and was surprised it was the Wild Rover space. They completely gutted and remodeled it. It's very nice. Open space and updated. There were about 12 of us. The service was amazing! They have lunch specials which is the time we went. I had the pulled pork sandwich w fries for $13. It was so good! It had coleslaw on it. Came w fry saw and ketchup. Loved they gave 3 napkins with it. Usually we have a really good experience and that's what keeps us coming back. Tonight we came in for late night and got burgers and fries. I wanted to order something else but no one ever came back to our table. I gave up and was about to get up to pay when the bartender came out with the machine to pay. I let him know that I had wanted to order more but was no longer going to. He let me know that they moved to bar service only, but neither the waitress who took our order nor the guy who brought the food ever mentioned that. Excellent food, drinks, service and atmosphere! Kid and dog friendly place which is much appreciated. Start with their fresh baked pretzel to share, it's so good! Lunch special options were really good! Everyone liked their food and drinks. Both indoor (maybe since their kitchen seems to be pretty much enclosed) and outdoor seating is dog friendly which was a bonus. It was warm/hot day on our visit and it was a nice option to be inside with our dog enjoying the cool air. Beautiful views of the trees and lake from their restaurant. What a great lunch! read more

We attended the soft open of Kirkland's new Moss Bay Hall - and were blown away! I've opened restaurants before, so I know how much can go sideways in the first few days of opening, but this place was DIALED! First, it was totally opened up. Why Wilde Rover kept everything compartmentalized and blocked off is beyond me. Moss Bay is bright, vibrant, fun! It felt like an upscale Cheers! If I lived in Kirkland, this would be my new go to place, but I'll definitely make the drive across the lake to get those smash burgers! Back to ambiance - the back area all has added beautiful windows so you can look out on the marina/lake- gorgeous! They keep the Beerhall style, but bougie, cool, comfortable Beerhall. You could go dressed to the nines for a night out or in a sports jersey/casual gear - it's whatever you feel like, and I love that. There were arcade games and little nooks and details that made it really fun for the kids. And Street Fighter II on arcade??!! Are you kidding me? My childhood Sega memories all came back to me in a wave of nostalgia. The food was fan-freaking-tastic. My picky kids loved everything and it's so much more than bar fare. I'm actually craving the roasted street corn and the pear salad...and maybe a few bites of my kids' Cougar Gold Mac n cheese. For the record, it's the first Mac n cheese besides Kraft my kiddos liked. Hoping the Queen Anne Beerhall will have some of the same stuff, so I can get it closer to home. The service was superb. The staff was having fun, friendly, laid back but knowledgeable. They genuinely enjoyed being part of something that will be a massive success. I have been going here regularly. But today I was overcharged by $10. When I questioned it, I was not even provided the receipt and was told it's very normal to have a bill for that amount. Food and drinks were fine - nothing special just typical beer hall. Our service from management and wait staff was less than stellar. Booked a table for our group of 10 to celebrate my husband's birthday. Things felt off immediately when we arrived at the restaurant where 4 employees were standing at the host stand and despite trying to get their attention they continued their conversation, not acknowledging the growing line of people at the door. In the reservation I specifically asked that we be seated where we would be able to watch the Husky game, which they advertised all over their social media as being one of the games they were showing that night. The spot where we were seated had 3 TVs and management refused to change any of them to the Husky game from the Cougs. The manager told us we had to get a table of Cougar fans to agree to change it in order to honor our request (who refused) despite there being at least 3 TVs visible from their spot all showing their game with none showing ours. Came here tonight and sat with friends out on the patio. I love the large patio and outdoor seating. We came in at about 4:30, it wasn't too busy but service was slow. It seemed like there was 1 server for the whole patio with a couple other people helping occasionally. It was kind of strange because it seemed like inside they had plenty of servers. We ordered food and drinks at the same time, the food came out so fast but weirdly it came out a while before the drinks. I don't love when food comes before drinks but usually it isn't an issue except with the slow service we never got a water refill so we were thirsty. We got the cheese curds and smash burgers. Out of the 2 of us who got smash burgers both of us were missing the pickles on our burgers which is my favorite part so that was disappointing but over all it was a really good burger. Crisp on the outside and flavorful, would get again. The cheese curds were okay, sweeter than I was expecting and I was hoping for a little spice but didn't seem like there really was any but they were still good. Several people around us got the soft pretzel and it looked great I definitely want to go back to try it. Overall it's a good spot but seems like they have a few things with service that could be improved but I definitely want to return to try some other items because the food was good! Love the brunch at Moss Bay Hall! My favorite bite was the shrimp and grits. The grits were so good, tender, creamy, with just enough cheese. Then top it with grilled shrimp - delicious! We also really enjoyed the Ruben corned beef hash - they use shave the corned beef slices like a sandwich so you get such tender pieces full of flavor, add the Reuben sauce, some kraut and eggs it was a party in your mouth. We finished off the meal with their beignets - basically croissant dough, cut into rectangles and fried - delectable. Go have brunch! read more

Moss Bay Hall: Walking in- The environment is very clean and modern, simple but nice. The menu didn't have many items aside from brunch, but the items they did have were pretty good. Service- All the food came out in very reasonable time, and the servers were kind and attentive. Appetizers- The chopped Italian salad was pretty good, not the best and the BBQ ranch chicken also wasn't great but ok. The caesar salad wasn't overdressed and the flavors were great. Meal- The BBQ chicken skewers were a small portion but really good, I would've liked a bit more sauce though. The Hall pretzel was one word; AMAZING. The brunch pretzel didn't have a lot of cinnamon sugar but was really good, dipping it in the Nutella and cinnamon cream cheese made for a delicious bite. We were invited to a friend's and family soft opening of the new Moss Bay Hall in downtown Kirkland. This is the sister restaurant to the Queen Anne Beer Hall in Seattle. The atmosphere and vibe of this place is very fun and spacious. The noise level is what I expected from the Moss Bay Hall, not too loud to carry on a conversation but enough volume to be festive. The staff was extremely attentive and had the right balance of making sure you were being taken care of and not checking in on your table. I have attended many soft opening nights, and while everything is not perfect, you can definitely see how the staff reacts and treats their customers. The staff here passed with flying colors. Now, onto the good stuff, food, and drinks. We had a limited food menu and drink menu for the evening, so we tried everything and then, of course, had to indulge with a beer and cocktail. The beer selection for opening night was very diverse and had a large flavor palette. I can't wait to see what the beer selection will look like when the grand opening takes place on Monday. The cocktail menu will grow to the full drink menu. The prices were definitely on par with all of the local restaurants in the area. The Smash burgers are definitely a hit as usual, but the standout has to be the Mexican Street Corn and then followed by the Tomato soup and Grilled Cheese sandwich. Kirkland had needed a place like this to gather with family and friends in a fun and festive atmosphere. An added bonus is that they are on OpenTable for a reservation, and they will make deliveries to boats docked at the Moss Bay marina. Joined in another epic Elite event last week to try out this new gastro pub in Kirkland marina. I recall this establishment was vacant for a while, after an Irish pub disappeared during the pandemic era, and now we instead have this beer and foodie paradise. Elite event covers full course meal including shared appetizers (deep fried cheese curd and soft pretzels - both hot, fresh and yum!), individual entree, shared dessert (beignets) and some beer/wine/cider. I had local IPAs (Kirkland's own Chaineline) and my friend had a huckleberry cider. We chose wings and Ruben for our entree and shared. Ruben was really juicy, and oh my, the fries! Love, love, love! Not too salty or crunchy - they were spot on. Wings are good but nothing to note about... Beignets was served after the dinner, and the dough was beautifully deep fried- perfectly crunchy outside, and soft, gooey dough inside - no dips needed for us to enjoy this cute little dessert. I will return here to try more foods and drink selections (wide variety taps!) also check out their wine list on the future visits. read more

Wow! I know the "Hall" family because of Queen Anne Beer Hall. This was my first time going to Moss Bay Hall and loved it! The food, energy and service are all top notch! We went for brunch and had such a great time. Everything was absolutely delicious. There was a debate on favorite dishes. It was a tie between the Ruben Hash, the Shrimp & Grits and the Beignets. In all honesty, everything is delicious. You can't go wrong with any of it. We had the smash sausage sammies, traditional pretzel and sweet pretzel, veggie fritata, pancakes (plain, chocolate chip and blueberry), chicken skewers, rueben hash, shrimp & grits, smash sausage sammies, beignets and something else that I forgot to take a picture of before devouring it. We had not been here yet so decided to give it a try. We've been coming to this location for the bar/restaurant for 35 years for several iterations (Hales Ale's, Kirkland Roaster, Wild Rover and now Moss Bay Hall). The interior is shockingly different from before. Gone is the classic dark wooden bar that used to divide the different parts of the dining room, the bar is now located against the left wall and the room is open beer hall concept. The interior is much lighter and sterile and the seating is mostly large family style tables, with a small amount of bar seating. TVs dominate the room. What the restaurant now lacks in dark moody bar adult atmosphere they make up for in food. The smash burgers, including a chopped salad version, are absolutely delicious. The burger was on the small size. I saw lots of good looking chicken and waffles as well as enormous pretzels go by. Service was fine. I'm not a huge fan of pubs that have almost all of the dining area open to kids so I'm not sure how often we'll be back. read more

The place is new at the same venue where Irish pub was. I came here at around 3pm Sunday, the music is pretty loud and it's kinda noisy here. The food menu is not too long and quite simple in a good way, the beer menu selection is impressive, with some beers that hard to find around. On the other hand the actual food is mediocre, I was surprised with smash burger I got (see picture), well it was definitely smashed on top, ha-ha. We got the wings, which were pretty weak - very small with very little meat in them. We also got the corn, which was fine, kinda seemed like it was frozen corn from a bag heated up. The burger was awesome - very melty! Kinda reminded me of White Castle burgers - in a good way because they melt in your mouth. Fries were good too. Service was fast!
