Homemade flatbread makes for an excellent pizza! The build your own for $16.25 is an excellent deal. Place is busy with regulars for nightly events like poker, food specials, and pool league. Tortilla for birria tacos fell apart, making it messy to eat. Great draft beer options, a Touchtunes jukebox, friendly waitstaff, and plenty of places to sit. We came here not expecting much, having only been here before new ownership. It is renovated, and very inviting. Plenty of tables and places to sit, with a full kitchen, bar, and pull tabs. We were immediately greeted by Brennan, who was running around the whole night covering every table in the bar. He was attentive, friendly, and fast. The food was definitely at least a notch or two above great bar food. We had the wings, which we flavorful, and a generous portion. They have a pizza oven, which we will be trying out when we inevitably come back again. We live in the neighborhood and never stopped in after trying it out several years ago, and regret not coming back sooner. Fun atmosphere, great music, underrated. read more

I've avoided this place due to some of the negative Yelp reviews, but after realizing the food is from Pogacha I figured I'd give it a shot. And I'm really glad I did! First off, the service was great. I entered the restaurant hesitantly thinking I'd leave if the vibe was off, but was immediately welcomed by the bartender once I stepped through the door which I wasn't expecting. I then thought I'd just grab a beer and looked for a beer menu, which is on a display near the bar with 20 beers. Granted, most are $8 except for a few which are less, but that's not too crazy. At this point I decided I was all in and ordered food. I knew I wanted some of the Pogacha bread which they make fresh, so I ordered a sandwich which was great. The bartender even confirmed details of my order to ensure she got it right. The regulars were friendly on a Sunday afternoon which was a random but welcomed. I've heard they have an awesome patio which I look forward to visiting this summer! read more

The new look of Pub 85 is great. It's an more upscale neighborhood bar. I could see myself just hanging out with friends. They had a good variety of beers on tap. I would have liked some extra Non-Alcoholic options other than soda (when I visited I couldn't drink do to medication so maybe that's why I was so disappointed). The server was friendly and seemed to know most of the customers but it was early so it really wasn't packed. I found the Big Fish Tacos were disappointing because I don't think you get a big piece of fish. If it was listed a Fish Tacos I probably would have been happier. They have a lot of good daily specials on the menu. read more

In the past year or so, Pub85 has really done an excellent job with their food menu and weekly specials. The home made buns for thier burgers, the oven fired pizza and other top notch food has made it more than just a place to grab a drink. Pool, darts, poker clubs and lots of sports on the TV make this a really great place to hang with friends. The servers are super friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed. They even serve breakfast on weekends and the cinnamon roll is fantastic. I love seeing a local watering hole do well. They deserve it! read more

Pub 85 is like your favorite old flannel -- a little worn, super comfortable, and always ready for a good time. The live music absolutely slaps, and the crowd has the perfect mix of people who actually listen to the band and others just vibing with their beer. A no-frills, super chill dive bar with decent food. They have a happy hour menu which has $1-2 off deals on both food and drink. In addition to this, they have daily specials depending on the day of the week. The place is huge and will always have space during the weekdays whenever you decide to walk in. We had the pogacha burger which was decent, though the star of the dish was their truffle fries. They were perfectly fried with a sublet truffle flavor and cheese on top. We also ordered the pizza which was also decent. Overall a casual place for a quick, decent meal. read more

My friend and I had a fantastic time last night at the pub. He had said glowing things about the food and atmosphere, and it did not disappoint! Excellent, friendly service from Ally and Gina who went above and beyond to make our experience great. The atmosphere was comfortable and both open and intimate for conversation or sports. Cool little pull tab area, and they offer poker nights as well. We came for the $10 pizza special and ordered the barbecue chicken, and the sausage goat cheese pizza-- both were addictive! The housemade barbecue sauce was delicious and the dough was perfect-- light but also very satisfying. I would definitely come back to try the other food and visit these great folks again! read more

Pub 85 is a dive bar with a hidden outdoor space in the back. Who knew! Located in Kirkland, I've passed by this on, you guessed it, NE 85th street, and when I finally stopped in, we had a fun time here. Just don't expect anything glamourous or good food. I like dive bars. I like craft beers on tap. I like sports playing on the tube. And chill people. All of these you will find at Pub 85. We came here on a Wednesday evening to find a late night place for beer and food after learning Pub 85 had outdoor seating. Staff was super friendly and they navigated us towards the outdoor space in the back, which was huuuuge. The entire place was covered with heat lamps around and some tables with its own fire pit in the middle, which is where my friend I ended up sitting. Plus, there were TVs outside, so you never have to miss a game, even during COVID-19. Beers were good. They had a long list of just about anything you'd want. You know me, a true Washingtonian. I stuck with the IPAs, which they had plenty of. But they have a full bar here, so no complaints about the draaanks. However, food was meh. My friend and I had dinner here, which may have not been the best choice. We ordered beef nachos, mozzarella sticks, chicken strips and tots. All of the food was overcooked and dry. Chicken strips and tots were cooked too long in the fryer, so the texture was off. Beef and tortilla chips on the nachos were dry. But the mozzarella sticks were our saving grace, as they were what you'd expect from mozz sticks. I wouldn't get food here again. All in all, Pub 85 isn't too shabby. I'm glad the bar has a found a way to survive during the pandemic, with its ample seating outside. And the staff was super chill and friendly. I'd come back for drinks, but gotta eat elsewhere. read more

Kind of like food court Pizza. -chicken strips aren't as good as Safeway but they're moist and the portion size is good. Came out hot -chicken wings need some kind of sauce or seasoning but came out super hot and we're still fun -chicken quesadilla was my least favorite of these. Just not anything I would get again. Well I've always enjoyed the food from pub 85, today I was so disappointed in my lunch order! Ordered chicken strip basket, and got three nice size pieces of chicken but nearly each of them were burnt. Then I also splurged and upgraded to tots for an additional fee and got a child size handful of them. Less is more?? read more

The service and food was fantastic. We had car and trailer issues right outside the doors of the pub. We were able to get our car fixed which took over 4 hours. They were so wonderful setting us up with a space to sit in their out door seating w our 4 dogs. It was a stressful day and they took great care of all of us. The food was great but the service was fantastic. Thank you Missy and company. We appreciate it more than you know. This bar is a fun place to be. Glad we broke down here. read more

This place is not worth your time. The service is mediocre at best.. the "bartenders" do nothing but shoot the breeze amongst themselves and if you ask for something you feel like you're bothering them... literally. Service is not a priority to them. What sealed the deal on never returning to this place was the disgusting bathroom. You walk in and almost immediately gag from the smell. They have one that's "out of order" but they don't attempt to keep to try to keep it clean or hide the bugs.. This was an all around Horrible experience and would not recommend. read more

I really want to like this place: convenient location, reasonably good food, remodeled interior. However, the service is really bad. I was there last night: waited way too long for someone to take our order; the server never came back to see how our meal was; they won't refill your water, instead they tell you there is a water cooler in the corner if you want to refill your glass; the server never noticed my friend needed a refill on his beer, so he had to go to the bar twice for another one; after dropping off the food, the server never came back, so I had to hunt him down for a to-go-box and the check; and the bartender was snarky when I asked for the pool balls. So if the server is wondering why he got a $1.00 tip...this is why. I have been to Pub 85 half a dozen times, and each time I leave disappointed with the service, and each time I go back I am hopeful it will be better...it never is. So my only complaint is something they can't control is employees yes there needs to be more but nonetheless the employees that are currently working are top notch. Ordered from doordash and waited at least an hour, but that aint an issue. The issue is having to wait an hour on FOOD WITH MOLD. The worst part about it is that i didnt even notice till i was almost done with mine and my girlfriend says, "Babe LOOK AT THIS." At that point i was nearly DONE with mine and tried to make myself puke it up. Worst part is knowing that someone has to put this in the box and was just like, "Yeah they can have that no biggy." Or the fact that if they prepackage it they werent following FIFO (First In First Out.) And amongst all of that... THEY FAILED TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. I asked for no pickles on everything! Best Wings on the East Side! When on the East Side I always drop in for several bowls of wings & beer. The Wednesday wing special is perfict. As a wing connoisseur I love this place, it's my #1 wing place for over 5 years! Pub 85's staff is very friendly and deals with my bizarre wants and needs. But that's I keep coming back for more. Now if your into beer they have at least 24 taps going at anytime so you will get a flavor to spill on yourself. I have literally driven past Pub 85 thousands upon thousands of times and finally had the opportunity to stop in for a couple drinks with friends on a Thursday evening. The place was actually kind of full (around 6) for a weeknight! Even though I usually know better than to order a craft cocktail at a dive bar I went ahead and did it anyway... and was pleasantly surprised! The cocktail menu can be found on the napkin holders sooo feel free to get some inspo there. I can't remember what my drink was called but it went something along the lines of vodka, lime, honey, elderflower liqueur?? and maybe bubbles??? Served in a highball on the rocks. I actually had the option to have it over ice or served up but ice was sounding refreshing at the moment. It was a little sweet and citrusy but not overly so, I'd happily order another if I have the chance. Wanting a "healthier" option I went with a standard vodka soda the second time around and it was nice and potent, just the way I like it. That guy was also served in a highball. Yay for getting a little tipsy on a not-quite Friday. I attempted to play some pool but it was just fun to hang out. The vodka did not help my already sorry game, or lack thereof. There are TVs everywhere so I'm sure you can catch what ever game you want. I think there are darts as well... the place is fairly bright for a Pub (which I don't really have a problem with) and it was actually pleasantly warm. Normally I'm freezing my buns off. I wasn't very impressed the first time I came here, but the beer selection entices my husband. We stopped on our way home from the airport because they had a beer on tap he wanted to try. It was the first time we ordered food. The menu consists mostly of standard pub fare. We opted for the nachos. I have to say I was impressed because they use real cheese and there was plenty of toppings layered throughout the chips. Nothing extraordinary but a decent quick meal. read more

They got rid of their online ordering form (imo any place where you can order online is awesome), and now when trying to call they never pick up the phone... When actually getting the food the bugger buns get soggy FAST, and the amount of fries are sad. I want to support local places and it's decent enough, I guess... but no reason to bother with the negatives when there are tons of other places out there with similar food. read more

We ordered delivery for my husband's day dinner. We chose delivery for two reasons First, that nasty Covid thing (I have health issues and just got home after 3 months in the hospital), and Second, I broke both bones in my right leg and shattered my right ankle. I cannot get in a car with my cast. I ordered 3 slices of the chocolate mouse pie, because birthday and there's 3 of us. For $6.00 a slice I expected something larger than a fun-size candy bar, but that would be a learning opportunity for me, don't order the pie. Worse was that we only received 1 slice when I ordered 3. It was a bit pricey for $6.00 a micro-slice but now I just paid $18.00 for 1 micro-slice. Because the restaurant/bar made the mistake I was directed to call them. I did, and after some explaining the Manager realizing they made the mistake told me they would have Grubhub deliver the missing items. A hour past and the pie was still MIA. I called back to be called a lier. The manager now claimed he didn't say that and he requested a refund from Grubhub for me. That wasn't our agreement. And your food is over priced. Ordered the Clubhouse Sandwich tonight. This is the 2nd time I've ordered this item for delivery and the item is completely different than the first time I ordered it and what is pictured on the menu. It isn't toasted, but grilled like grilled cheese. There's way too much of some sauce on it, making the bread soggy and falling apart since it wasn't toasted inside. The tomato and lettuce are cooked and wilted. Also the Turkey is highly processed and has a bad taste. It's going in the trash. I won't be ordering from here again, this is too big of an inconsistency. read more

Just to start, this is a small dive bar in Kirkland that offers great beers, has tons of TVs and pool/darts. We come here to either watch a game or play pool and dart. Their draft choices are awesome and I like that they have Ace Space cider on draft, one of my favs. Their burgers are great, the rest is more or less fried food... still ok if you want something greasy with your beers. It is a great place for what it is, so don't discount it, but if you want high end pubs, you need to drive down to the waterfront. read more

3.5 stars. The place is a hole in the wall with holes and cracks in the stools... oh well, I don't go there for the sitting. I like playing pool there. The burgers are decent, the shrimp with wrapped bacon is good and greasy. The BLT is satisfying. The side appetizers are frozen but edible. The bartender Tim is one reason most of their customers go there for drinks and conversation. Wendy is nice and smiles when she has time, when she is busy, forget about it... not busy? She's awesome. They have HH specials, try them out. Parking is limited. Next to Couzins (a small hole in the wall). The breakfast is good, nice service, great clam chowder soup.
