05/21/2026 My friend and I were looking for something to do after dinner on a Thursday night. We love trivia, so she found that Chainline does trivia on Thursdays at 7pm. Neither of us had been here before, so we didn't know it was part of a shopping plaza. The plaza was extra busy due to a local shopping event with lots of vendor booths and live music. Fortunately we were able to find parking in the parking garage. The taproom is located on the second floor overlooking the center of the plaza. The line at the counter to order beer was long but moved pretty quickly. They said they were running behind due to how busy it was, so trivia would start a little late. So we grabbed drinks and played a board game. For trivia, you enter online and submit your answers there too. The host posted his questions on the TV screens, and at the end of each round he posted all of the questions again. There were themes for 3 rounds, and the rest were general. We did not do well, but we had fun and learned some fun facts! They also served some bar food there, but we had just come from dinner so we didn't try anything. It looked good though. read more

I really like this spot and have been a fan of theirs for a long time. I've actually been going to this brewery since back when they were located right along the Cross Kirkland Corridor bike trail, and I've followed them to their newer, modern setup up at Kirkland Urban. The beers here are always great. For food, they have a nice setup where they serve up some good, tasty items sourced from other local companies that they heat up right there for you. It's a solid, straightforward menu that pairs perfectly with a fresh pint. The location itself is excellent, featuring massive windows that let in a ton of beautiful sunlight, alongside a really nice indoor and outdoor space. That said, I feel like the place has so much untapped potential. It's tucked up on the upper level of the plaza, which might be why it feels a bit hidden, but it often isn't as busy as other nearby spots. I really think they need to do something a bit different to draw people in and make the local community want to gather and hang out here, whether that's events or a shift in the overall vibe. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in the area! The space is beautiful, the drinks are great, and it's a wonderful local brewery that deserves a lot more feet through the door. read more

Went to Chainline Brewing to wind down a date day. Great place with friendly staff. My girlfriend did small pours of their 4 stout flavors and loved every one of them. I really enjoyed The Polaris Pilsner. Very tasty and refreshing! Every beer we had in the flight was delicious! We checked out Chainline's taproom at Kirkland Urban today and it's RAD! I forgot how great their beer is! They don't really do traditional tasting flights but they let us make our own and everything was solid. Both of their hazy IPAs were delicious standouts, worth drinking in massive quantities. They are taking COVID precautions very seriously with spaced out seating, outdoor seating, and table indicators so you can tell if it's been cleaned since the last visitor. 10 out of 10 would recommend! This #ThankYouThursday I'm thankful for good local beer! Chainline has been on my beer radar for awhile and I was so excited to hear they opened up a new location at Kirkland Urban! So when I recently found myself (a) thirsty and (b) in Kirkland I knew I had to stop in. I started with a toasty Czech-style brew which fulfilled my need for maltiness. I sipped it (socially distant-style) at a window-front seat and enjoyed a truly stunning sunset before ordering a slightly darker choice called the Cerne black lager. This was equally delicious and really satisfied those beery cravings. What really elevated my Chainline experience was its family and dog friendly atmosphere. While small in size, they welcome friendly dogs inside the brewery - there were probably 8 pooches there at the height of my visit. It was fun to watch the dogs (try to) interact with each other and seemed to give people a great chance to meet each other. Honestly, it kinda made me wish I had a dog! The staff were really nice, too, and the vibe is really casual. They have a nice outdoor seating area, too. And wow, that sunset! I have a feeling that Chainline's new location in Kirkland Urban is gonna be dangerous. Solid beers for when you're around downtown Kirkland is just what we, Eastsiders ordered. I've been to Kirkland Urban for the retail here, but saw that Chainline Brewing Company had a space on the upper level before it opened. Although I had never gone to its former location, I had heard good things about the beer, so anticipated going when it finally opened its doors. Therefore, my friend and I visited Chainline recently for a pint and visited 30 minutes before closing. They have outdoor tents set up for seating, but bring on the puffy jackets because it gets cold without a heater. The employee said that he had just done last call when he saw us walk in, but said that he could give us a pint. That was nice of him. We both tried the hoppier IPA of the two that was on tap. Beer was solid. For anyone looking for a crisp IPA that's not too hoppy or too light, this is the kind of IPA to sip. I usually like mine hoppier, but I think my liver was thankful for the lighter beer. They do not serve food here, and not sure if you can bring your own or what. But hey, you're in Kirkland Urban and walking distance to the waterfront where all the restaurants are, so lack of sustenance isn't an issue. Free four-hour parking with validation in the garage here. I will be back for a beer or two when in the area. read more

Five of us brought lunch in with us on a Sunday and had beers. AMBIENCE: 3.5. Purely urban setting, sitting among concrete, steel, and wood, either within the glass-enclosed interior or outside. View between buildings toward the western sky. Pleasant. SERVICE: 4.5. One server. His recommendations were very good, and he was constantly busy keeping the place clean by clearing tables and emptying the trash bins. BEERS: 4.0. Had a 4-beer sampler. Super cute brewery in Kirkland that offers inside and outdoor seating. They offer over 10 different draft beers as well as ciders, wines, and non alcoholic drinks. We tried three of their draft beers (Trail Gnome IPA, Polaris Pilsner, and Cascadian Sunrise). My favorite was the Cascadian Sunrise. It was crisp, refreshing, and very hoppy. A perfect summer beer. I also loved that they carried snacks to eat. They had empanadas from none other than Rocky's Empanadas. We had a ham and meat empanada. So good! Loved the beer, ambiance, and bites. We spent over two hours just drinking and playing games like trivia, dominoes, and connect 4. Dogs are allowed but on a leash. read more

Chainline Brewing is a definite must try, if you're in Kirkland and love great beer. So many food and shopping choices nearby, but for beer.. here! Lots of choices of beer types, some even brewed with a purpose to help out such beneficiaries as the Salmon safe Foundation.. River Ghost IPA is named after a popular local gamefish.. the steelhead, which numbers are declining. Great beer, great cause. Too many choices for one visit. Also tried the fresh hop version of "Tune Up" with yummy mosaic hops. Took home a 4 pack of River Ghost. Service was great! Especially considering the bartender was also preparing and cooking the food orders as well. Sam was on it, not missing a empty glass, as well as getting the food out quickly and taking care of a constant line for beer to go orders and the place getting very busy, definitely at the point of a little extra help as they become a popular stop in the area. While i don't believe it is next to a main biking path any more, their new location is amazing. The view is incredible and considering that most of the building is windows, you can see it no matter where you sit. Speaking of which, just the architecture of this building alone is really immaculate with a really nice modern touch. The beer we had was really good (touch up - juicy ipa). It was nice and light with a great fresh fruit finish. Parking is also not as hard as you might think (though a little bit of a walk) considering they have a parking garage below them that is free when you get validated. All in all I really like their new location and it's a good brewery if your in the area. read more

##Update for the new location## At Chainline Brewings Grand Opening at their new place in Kirkland Urban (Google tore down the building of their old taproom)! They do excellent European malty styles and hazy IPAs. In particular, their Czech Pils and Czech Dark Lager have won numerous awards. They can even do the traditional Czech pours if you ask. As for hazy IPAs, if it says Floof or Fluff in the name and you like hazys then you need to try it. Am about to slam this place. You have a top tier location. TOP location. Beers are tasty enough. But there are two things making this place suck. The seating and lack of food choices. This place used to be a walk up only pub on the Kirkland trail. So back then it was charming to not have food. Then they moved to a premium location and still can't offer a burger??? Wtf. You might think no biggie right. Eat before you go. Nope. Their beer is not enough of a draw to not offer fabulous food. Especially when their seating is so bad. Mostly metal high top chairs. Un-welcoming and miserable staff. Inside barely played any music and the TVs were playing some kids movie. It's Saturday, there's easily 5 sports games on. Pretty disappointed with this place. I had been looking forward to checking it out for a while. Recommend folks check out other local breweries instead. I'd mention the food, but there's no menu anywhere inside or offered. It looks like they have some quick snack type foods (big pretzels, for example)... so I wouldn't plan on doing dinner here. Beer was good though. Tune up IPA and Trail Gnome IPA are solid. read more

Excellent east side micro brewery I went to last night in Kirkland for Sounders Championship game. We had a private room they set up for our viewing with this gargantuan TV for our pleasure, so we had that going for us. I guzzled down the Trail Gnome IPA beers and let's me say this it was delicious and packed a good buzz. They didn't serve food but allowed us to order food in. Plus they had a food truck show up. I've had this bookmarked for a while, and finally got a chance to check it out. We walked with some friends along the Cross Kirkland corridor down to Chainline. They have a nice open space with indoor and outdoor seating, and back right up to the trail. Walk or ride your bike down here and enjoy a cold one. I had the IPA, which to my taste was pretty mild. The summer ale, usually not my favorite style, was a very refreshing sip on a warm day. Now I have to try them all, so I can do a comprehensive review, like for science. Service was super friendly, and everyone was a in a good mood here. Dogs are welcome and several folks brought their pups with. They don't have food service, but there are plenty of take out menus and local businesses will deliver. They often have a food truck out front, and last night it was MIT - Made in Taiwan. We had some minced pork over rice, pork belly bao's, and thousand year eggs along with our beverages. This is a fine little spot along the trail in Kirkland. read more

This place is new, and pretty cool! We came here for the soft opening and you get the idea right away; it's a bike-themed microbrew pub. The bonus though is that it's totally a dog and family-friendly place, which is nice (especially since it's a little further out from downtown Kirkland, and closer to a lot of houses). We ordered a few flights. I really liked the red, which is weird because I'm normally a wheat beer person. The IPA is as hoppy as one would expect. I'm interested in trying their summer brew though, which wasn't available on the day that we went. Foodwise I didn't see a lot of options. There are pretzels, although they're just the dry, snack pretzels, not the bread pretzels you can have with beer cheese (which would be awesome, by the way...). They have food trucks out the front on a regular basis apparently, so check their calendar! There's some parking available in the lot but it's shared with the other shops on that strip, so it might be safer to park in the side streets and walk over. The food is about what you would expect, nothing special but pretty good for what they had. If you are expecting fast and fancy food this isn't the place. Love Chainline! Came here after going to Marymoor with the doggo! I absolutely love breweries that are family friendly. And by family friendly, that includes fido! Chainline's patio is airy and big, best of all that sunset view is awesome! Staff are attentive and nice and not to mention amazing beers!! (They also have ciders!) I also love that they allow delivery of outside food! Cause pizza is quite close! Overall, I cant wait to come back to Chainline! I love that this place is on the Kirkland Corridor trail. They are super dog friendly both inside and on the back patio. They also have food trucks scheduled regularly. The cider was very good. I'm reserving a star because we asked for some beer recs for a friend and the bartender couldn't make any. It was weird. At least throw out your faves or say something more? So come prepared to pick/choose on your own or try a flight. read more

Good beer. Pets and kids roam free. Friendly staff and patrons. No drama. Right off the bike path. But the saddle on my bike is more comfortable than the seats at the bar and hi-tops. Worst StoolChairs ever. Either saw off the back and make them stools or leave the backs but make the seat wider than a stool top with some better foot rests. Form follows function. Beers good enough for five stars though and I like to stand when I drink anyway. Just wanted to point out that their SeatChairs, while nice looking with a butcher block wood seat and seat back and a welded frame, do indeed, suck ass. read more

Decent beer. I have never seen any porters or stouts but that might be just because of the times that I have gone? I don't care for their beer pours, they are terrible. At least an inch of head for every pour, at least!! They advertise a "20 ounce pint". I'm not quite sure about that? Every single pour that I witnessed while I was there seemed severely lacking. I'm sure they were coached as to how much beer to drop just so that the head meets the brim of the glass..... Also, a ton of babies on premises, and I'm not talking about the people that are mad about their short pours. Just expect to be surrounded by a ton of kids/families.
