Salesperson joking about giving low OTD from base trim

I started to look for a Pilot Trailsport in black or gray. After inquiry about availability, Dwayne de Maurivert reached out and by text offered 54k OTD. I was interested and explained that work horrible hours and getting time off is hard. He aggressively pushed for me to come in which is fine. But before I could come in, I wanted to know the info on the car so I asked for a Window sticker. This was 02JUL2026. Today, 15JUL2025, he messaged how he could get my business. I pointed out that during the last 13 days I was down to two dealers who kept communication and offer was 51.5k OTD. He proceeded to send me new offers, not providing the VIN/window sticker. His OTD offer was 47.4k. After asking for the VIN multiple times he writes, "It's Trail Sport minus the "Trail" " I am sure he finds this funny. He told me early "this is the best Honda dealership in SD." I can factually tell you there are 3 dealerships around the area that gave me proper offer and if they could not beat the price they were honest and I was able to move on.

I held off on buying a new car for way longer than I should have simply because I absolutely hate the typical car dealership process -- the haggling, games, pressure, and wasted time. After calling and speaking with Nick, we decided to make the 3-hour drive one way, and I can honestly say it was beyond worth it. From the beginning, Nick was a straight shooter. No gimmicks, no runaround, no pressure. I came in with a check from my bank already in hand, and he negotiated the price fairly and respected the haggle-free buying experience I was looking for. He was also the only person in this part of SoCal who actually listened to what I wanted and got me exactly the vehicle and color I had been searching for. The entire process was smooth, honest, and stress-free from start to finish. Experiences like this are rare nowadays. We'd honestly drive double the distance for the kind of service Nick provided, and he'll absolutely be our car dealer moving forward. If you're tired of dealerships playing games and want someone honest and easy to work with, go see Nick. Could not recommend him enough.

Car dealerships can either be your worst enemy or your biggest ally, my car buying experience with them was nothing short of the best car purchase I've ever had and I've purchased a lot of cars over the last 40 years. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I dealt with Tom Youngblood and Jeanette and from the first email/text/phone call to the day I picked up my new CR-V they were nothing but up front and honest, keeping me informed all along the way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend dealing with the two of them. As far as financing it was fast and painless, Iz got me in and out, he knew I was in a hurry so he hustled to get the deal done. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great experience, I couldn't be happier with my new commuter and how I was treated from start to finish.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Thank you Tom, Jeanette and Iz for taking excellent care of me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Mossy Honda in Lemon Grove was disappointing enough that I feel the need to warn others. I initially reached out about leasing a Honda Pilot and was working with Albert. I shared a quote I received from another dealership and asked if they could provide me with a competitive offer. Albert refused to give any pricing over the phone and insisted I come in. I let him know I was leaving town and asked him not to contact me until I returned the following Wednesday. Despite this, he repeatedly called and texted me during my trip, ignoring my request. There was ZERO respect for my request to leave me alone during my travel. When I returned and reached out, I again asked for a quote before making the drive. He continued to refuse, saying it was the end of the month and I needed to come in that day to get the "best pricing." He even texted me promising he wouldn't waste my time and would beat the deal I'd received. That promise fell flat. I wasted a total of 2 hours. I waited over an hour and a half at the dealership before finally telling them I would leave unless I received a quote immediately. At that point, they tried to have me sign paperwork before even showing me numbers--and when I realized it was to run my credit, I declined. Albert was visibly annoyed by that. While waiting, they sent someone to show me a specific vehicle--a Honda Pilot ELT AWD--which I liked. But when Albert finally brought out the numbers, not only were they higher than the other offer I had, but when I told him that, he acted like I was lying and initially refused to match it. Only after I mentioned leaving did he suddenly say "I'll check if we can match that." When he returned, he asked me "did you touch the car?" To which I said, yes, his response was "good news, the car is yours" AND WE SHOOK HANDS! But here's where it got really shady: when I looked at the paperwork, I noticed they had switched the car. Instead of the AWD model I was shown, they had listed a 2WD model and tried to pass it off as an "upgrade." I was shocked and insulted. I explained to him that he asked me very specifically if I "touched" the car. I said that 2 Wheel Dr. vehicle is not the car that I was shown nor that you asked me if I "touched."It felt like they assumed I wouldn't notice the change. When I pointed it out, Albert said they had shown me the AWD by mistake and the pricing was only good for 2WD and became even more agitated. At that point, I had lost all trust in the process and walked out. This experience felt deceptive and disrespectful. As a woman buying alone, I felt like they tried to take advantage of me and expected me not to pay attention. If you're not someone who knows cars well or doesn't catch small details, I strongly recommend staying far away from this dealership. It was a waste of time, and I left feeling insulted and disgusted by the way I was treated. Actually, in general, you should steer clear of this dealership. Go find you an honest dealer to work with. Thankfully I was able to head over to Honda of El Cajon and drive off with the car I wanted for the price I wanted and also had an amazing and respectful buying experience in El Cajon.

First and foremost, I went in with little to no expectations. I am naturally, a very pessimistic person. So I knew my credit was not good and with little to no down payment, I'd likely be denied. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But then came Manny, and he completely flipped my expectations upside down. He was patient, understanding, and most of all, willing to work with me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In the end I wound up driving off in a 2024 Nissan Rogue completely and utterly satisfied with how amazing the service was.

I want to start by saying [[HIGHLIGHT]]everyone there is amazing especially CJ he was upfront and had amazing customer service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He jumped through hoops to get me into my dream car. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The internet director Micheal also helped me get the car and did everything he could to make it enjoyable for me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm forever grateful for him and everyone who helped me. Definitely go there if you're looking to get a car CJ will definitely help you

I thought getting a great deal only happens at the end of the week or the end of the month or the end of the year but was able to get a great deal done! Thanks to Isaac Backowski went above and beyond just to a great deal done! He even gave me a ride from pacific honda back to mossy honda after walking away from mossy just to do business! You can't be happy with the car unless you're happy of how much you bought it and they were able to make me happy on both of them. So look no further because mossy honda just beat 4 other honda dealership that i went to. If you in a market for a new vehicle just go to mossy and ask for isaac and he will take care of you! Outstanding salesman and very pleasure to work with!

We had a great experience at Mossy Honda! I usually use Mossy Toyota for my car deal needs but my Daughter is a Honda girl. She bought her Honda Sport through Mossy Honda of Lemon Grove so when she was ready to trade in for the SUV she was we went back to Mossy Honda of Lemon Grove. Ruby was our salesperson. She was attentive and listen to what my Daughter was looking for in a trade. We spent about 4 hours there and went home for a break and came back when car in color She wanted was picked up from Chula Vista dealership. The Manager Kevin was very accommodating and she was able to get the trade in deal she wanted. Thank you Ruby & Kevin for Making it happen.

Ask the Community - Mossy Honda

Does one need an appointment for the Express Oil Change? This morning, I was told the wait was 2-3 hours for the Express oil change.

Just ask how many car in front of you? If you leave by them, or I will just drive thru and wait, if takes over 2 hrs that's long, i timed the regular car oil change takes about 30 mins.

Back in April, when I serviced my 2012 Ford Fusion for a synthetic blend oil change at El Cajon Ford, I was told I needed front and back brakes. I was quoted $600.00 for the front brakes and the.same amount for the back brakes. This amount to me seemed extraordinarily High. I discussed this with an old college buddy and he recommended AAA Smog & Repair Center on El Cajon Boulevard. I had utilized this facility in early May to smog my Ford Fusion. The smog check took a total of 5 minutes to complete and of course my car passed with flying colors. Incidentally, the technician at El Cajon Ford had told me to make sure I get both brakes front and back done in May, as I risked the possiblity of damaging the rotors. Needless to say, I wasn't happy about this as shelling out $1,200 for brakes just isn't in my budget right now. I took my vehicle in for brake servicing at AAA Smog & Repair Center on Friday, June 12th, 2026. Mike, who runs the facility quoted me $375.00 maximum for front brake disc replacement. The work was done in about 2 and 1/2 hours, and the total with tax came out to $394.00. Mike inspected my back brakes and told me there is no way that the back brakes need to be replaced right now. As a matter of fact, he told me the back brakes have at least a year's worth of life left in them. And he explained, as we all know, that the front brakes handled about 80% of braking requirements. I left this facility having paid out a total of $394.00 as stated above.Wow!! On a one to five star rating, if I could give this auto repair facility 10 stars I certainly would. Mike and his wonderful crew got the job done in just a couple of hours and didn't try to break the bank. And unlike other facilities (like El Cajon Ford) he doesn't recommend work that doesn't need to be done. Mike is the most honest service technician/manager I have ever met. This is the kind of auto repair facility one finds in small sleepy towns, located far away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. For example, windshield wiper replacement at this facility runs $11.99 per blade in contrast to Discount Tire, who is selling their wiper replacement blades for around $35.00.. Auto Zone comes in at a few dollars less and El Cajon Ford is off the charts for even a simple replacement part such as windshield wiper replacement blades. This price of this one part serves as a metaphor regarding the fact that this facility cares about us customers in charging the fairest priced for parts and labor possible. They truly care about the customer. This auto repair facility has earned my very highest recommendation. As referenced above, they are not out to break the bank And as a matter of fact, Mike and the crew are trying to save the consumer as much money as is humanly possible in this day and age. Additionally, this facility offers DMV registration renewal, allowing the consumer to skip the long lines at the DMV. They also offer body work and basically anything can be done under the hood. The one thing they don't specialize in is oil changes, though the facility will in fact order the oil and filter required if an oil change is absolutely necessary when other work is being done. Let's face it, all companies are in business to make a profit, of course. The problem, with so many companies out there, is that they gouge the customer, to make a huge profit and are charging prices that are probably 500 to 1000 percent above what should be reasonably and morally charged for parts and services way above what most consumers can actually afford. This company is different. They are charging an extremely fair price thereby saving consumers a ton of money that those other huge companies love to just swallow up with their overinflated high end prices. My warmest thanks and "hats off" to Mike and his gallant crew!! I'll be back at this shop for electrical work in August or September. I wholeheartedly recommend everybody out there consider utilizing this auto repair facility before shelling out those big bucks at those other well known large facilities. Thanks again!!

I always do my research, and unfortunately my assessment turned out to be correct even before Allman completed their diagnostics. Mike at Allman spent a great deal of time walking me through different scenarios and options, providing detailed estimates for each. I also requested additional estimates, including a full engine replacement, so I could make a fully informed decision. While their estimate was less than dealership service departments, it was slightly higher than another independent shop. After researching the difference, I found it came down to Allman using OEM parts rather than cheaper aftermarket parts made overseas. I don't use cheap parts on my vehicles, so that made the decision easy. Once I felt fully comfortable, I chose Allman and I'm glad I did. Mike kept me informed throughout the process, and my Jeep was back on the road even earlier than estimated. Thank you, Allman Family Auto, for the honesty, transparency, and quality work.

After I raised concerns about what I believed was a misdiagnosis and being overcharged for repairs that did not fix the original issue with my vehicle, I reached out to the shop directly to address the situation. To their credit, once I called them out and explained the ongoing problem, they agreed to take another look at my car. Upon re-evaluation, they acknowledged that the initial repair did not resolve the root issue. They worked on the vehicle again and ultimately fixed the original problem at no additional charge. I appreciate that they took responsibility and made the effort to correct the situation. While my initial experience was frustrating and felt misleading, I do recognize their willingness to make things right after the fact. I hope moving forward they improve their diagnostic process to prevent similar issues for other customers. Updating my review to reflect both the initial experience and the resolution.
