I initially reached out about leasing a Honda Pilot and was working with Albert. I shared a quote I received from another dealership and asked if they could provide me with a competitive offer. Albert refused to give any pricing over the phone and insisted I come in. I let him know I was leaving town and asked him not to contact me until I returned the following Wednesday. Despite this, he repeatedly called and texted me during my trip, ignoring my request. There was ZERO respect for my request to leave me alone during my travel. When I returned and reached out, I again asked for a quote before making the drive. He continued to refuse, saying it was the end of the month and I needed to come in that day to get the "best pricing." He even texted me promising he wouldn't waste my time and would beat the deal I'd received. That promise fell flat. I wasted a total of 2 hours. I waited over an hour and a half at the dealership before finally telling them I would leave unless I received a quote immediately. At that point, they tried to have me sign paperwork before even showing me numbers--and when I realized it was to run my credit, I declined. Albert was visibly annoyed by that. While waiting, they sent someone to show me a specific vehicle--a Honda Pilot ELT AWD--which I liked. But when Albert finally brought out the numbers, not only were they higher than the other offer I had, but when I told him that, he acted like I was lying and initially refused to match it. Only after I mentioned leaving did he suddenly say "I'll check if we can match that." When he returned, he asked me "did you touch the car?" To which I said, yes, his response was "good news, the car is yours" AND WE SHOOK HANDS! But here's where it got really shady: when I looked at the paperwork, I noticed they had switched the car. Instead of the AWD model I was shown, they had listed a 2WD model and tried to pass it off as an "upgrade." I was shocked and insulted. I explained to him that he asked me very specifically if I "touched" the car. I said that 2 Wheel Dr. vehicle is not the car that I was shown nor that you asked me if I "touched."It felt like they assumed I wouldn't notice the change. When I pointed it out, Albert said they had shown me the AWD by mistake and the pricing was only good for 2WD and became even more agitated. At that point, I had lost all trust in the process and walked out. This experience felt deceptive and disrespectful. As a woman buying alone, I felt like they tried to take advantage of me and expected me not to pay attention. If you're not someone who knows cars well or doesn't catch small details, I strongly recommend staying far away from this dealership. My daughter, a hard-working student who is already managing significant financial pressure, chose Mossy Honda for service because she trusted the brand to treat her fairly. Instead, this dealership took over $1,700 of our money and returned the car in an incomplete, unsafe state, ending in a hostile confrontation that left my daughter in tears. We paid $1,728.75 for a PCM replacement and programming. Despite this massive bill, the car was returned with a dashboard full of warning lights. When I questioned why the lights weren't cleared, I was told their only job was to make the car "turn on." Furthermore, they initially charged $640 for a "calibration" attempt on a part they later claimed was dead--effectively charging us to program a brick.The situation escalated when we returned to address the AC system--the very thing that caused the PCM failure. Service Advisor Javier Hernandez performed an unauthorized Freon recharge on a system he knew was leaking without calling for approval. When I called to question this unauthorized work, Javier became aggressive, hung up the phone on me, and then turned his anger toward my daughter who was there to pick up the car. He ordered my daughter to leave and told her to "never come back" to the dealership. My daughter was left crying and shaken by how she was treated. Extremely Concerning Experience - Lack of Transparency, Intimidation, and Financial Loss On January 30, 2026, I purchased a 2019 Dodge Challenger SXT from Mossy Honda of Lemon Grove. Within two weeks, the vehicle overheated and became unsafe to drive. The car was sold with a three-month warranty, so I returned it to the dealership expecting the issue to be handled properly. When I brought the vehicle into service, I worked with a service representative named Monica. At the time I dropped the car off, they did not want to provide written documentation confirming that I had left my vehicle there. I had to insist on proof that the car was in their possession, which was very concerning from the beginning. Initially, I was told I would need to pay for repairs despite the warranty coverage. After I reminded them of the warranty, they kept the vehicle for about a week. Since then, I have been given repeated runarounds -- told to "come next week," then "next week again," without clear answers or proper written updates about my vehicle's status. On February 10, 2026, I was told to come pick up my car. When I arrived, I was informed they did not have it available. After waiting nearly an hour, I was told a Special Finance representative had my keys. I was then unexpectedly informed that my contract had been "canceled" and that I would have to pay additional money if I wanted the vehicle back. I never authorized a cancellation and never agreed to new financial terms. When I questioned this, multiple employees approached and surrounded me while repeatedly telling me to leave the premises. The situation felt intimidating and highly unprofessional. For a large dealership, this type of conduct is unacceptable. The dealership has surveillance cameras throughout the property, yet when I requested footage of the incident, they refused to provide it. While the vehicle was in their possession, my personal belongings remained inside, including a child car seat, work tools, chargers, work lights, and a bottle of cologne valued at $180. I was also required to pay for a rental vehicle even though the mechanical failure occurred during the warranty period. In addition, after purchasing the vehicle, I installed window tint that cost me $350. Since they took the vehicle back and are attempting to resell it, they have refused to reimburse me for the tint installation or my other financial losses. There are also mileage discrepancies that raise serious concerns. The vehicle had approximately 90,000 miles when I purchased it. When it was taken from me, it showed around 91,500 miles. Independent records later reflected over 93,000 miles. That difference deserves explanation. Despite multiple assurances that everything would be resolved, I have received no clear documentation, no reimbursement, and no proper resolution. Instead, I have experienced delays, inconsistent information, financial loss, and pressure to accept new terms I never agreed to. Consumers deserve transparency, written documentation, and professional treatment -- especially when financing a vehicle. Based on my experience, I strongly advise anyone considering doing business here to document everything carefully and ensure all agreements are clearly in writing. He was told that one part for this repair was approximately $3k - what?! "Someone" told my husband that he should check with his car insurance because they can cover this repair and, sure enough, they did. My husband was working with Dario, the service rep in the repair department. Dario kept my husband informed during the whole process, even answering his questions when he was getting antsy. I went with my friend yesterday to Lemon Grove Mossy Honda to buy new vehicle. We met a sales guy who should go for a hand and asked us what we were in need of for today. He greeted us with a smile, introduced himself, shook our hands, asked our names, and petted our dog. Let me just say the car buying experience with Joseph was phenomenal. He showed us the vehicle that was previously discussed via email. He then walked-thru all the features, options, upgrades, and warranties that were available and then asked if we would like to take a test drive. I should mention that I have a service dog and use a walker, which wasn't an issue, and we went for a nice test drive. Joseph continued to describe all the safety features and bells and whistles while we were on the test test drive. When we returned, my friend had decided that she would purchase the vehicle if they could decide on the right selling price. Joseph honored the price that he previously quoted, they came to an agreement, and completed all the necessary documentation and paperwork. I want to commend Joseph Rodriguez for the quality of service that we received from him. I left my info and submitted the request. Tom Youngblood the online car sale manager replied saying the car was available. I made appt to Meet him 30 mins later Dec 24 at 12:30-100 pm. I arrived asked for Tom. Tom met me and immediately passed me off to a sale person. The salesman had no idea that I inquired about the used EX-L online. I had to tell him and then had to give him the stock number after walking the lot and showing me other accords I wasnt interested in. We went back to to the showroom while he looked for the EX-L. We waiting 15 mins and began to leave when he poked his head out the door saying he going to get the keys. We waited atleast 5 more minutes before he returned. The salesman said the EX-L sold this morning. Surrrre it did!!!! My girlfriend and I began to leave. I was pissed!!! COMPLETE AND TOTAL WASTE of my time on Christmas Eve in the rain!!! Tom Youngblood confirmed with me via email the car was available, knowing damn well the car was NOT available!! The salesman then tried to keep me on the lot to purchase a new accord at invoice price. I was not there for a new car. You lost a person looking to buy a Honda. You lost a potential buyer forever and I will not recommend any person I know looking for a Honda to your dealership! This is not how you treat customers and run a business! Tom lied just to get me to the lot hoping I would buy another car. Being honest with customers is the right thing to do and suggest that you have this similar car avail etc. let the customer make the choice rather than lie to them. Mossy Honda lost a customer for Life!! Anyone looking for a Honda please consider my experience when choosing a dealership. Wouldnt you want a dealership you can trust? I sure would! Let me start by saying I am a female who took my daughter to look at/purchase the cars. I have purchased many cars at many dealerships and never had a great experience. We found a couple cars on the Honda of Lemon Grove website. Went to the location and dealt with Alex OG and Cesar. What an amazing duo!! I was wondering the whole time when it would start getting ugly. Not once. They were honest and answered all my tough questions without hesitation. We purchased one of the cars. Even though the car was used, it was pristine. Upon delivery of the car, they washed the car, had the gas filled up ( something I have always had to demand from dealerships, to fill up the gas tank). Of course the purchasing of a car takes forever.. we were there until 11:30 pm to complete the purchase! Cesar didn't complain once. He stayed with us until the end. My daughter is so happy with the car. It eased my mind that Cesar gave us bis cell number and asked us to contact him immediately if there are any issues with the car. I can honestly say this was the best experience purchasing a car at a dealership. If you go to this dealership, i would definitely recommend Alex OG and Cesar!! read more
