I've eaten a fair share of ayce kbbq in CA before, I made sure I didn't overeat throughout the day. Mosu interior was larger than expected. Very upscale chandelier and modern take on ayce restaurants. Half of the restaurant has built in grills on the tables, half of it has built-in hotpot stoves. You can't opt for both kbbq & hotpot, only one or the other. MENU SELECTIONS A large variety of steak cuts, sirloin, filet magnon, briskets, you say it they have it. Pork chops, lamp, seafood options. Variety of veggies as well. And snacks. It's AYCE, I made a mistake ordering too many snacks for apps that I couldn't finish. Don't forget Mosu charges for extra leftovers!!!! Don't over order and waste food. We ordered 2 rounds of meats and veggies and were filled after an hour of nonstop eating lettuce wrapped kbbq. I highly recommend ordering kimchi, Szechuan chili veggies to eat w kbbq meats so you can digest quicker while adding flavors. Small beverage selection that's included in the ayce- water, soda, juices. Boba, cocktails, soju, sparkling water are additional charge. VALUE Not sure if it's worth $50/person. It's definitely not your typical CA ayce kbbq. It's the first in the capital region, demand is low, ppl are willing to pay as much as they can to experience it. If you aren't THAT hungry or have small appetite, don't go to AYCE Mosu. I mean.. you don't want to spend $55 bbq if you only eat two pieces of meat, right? Anyways, I went to Mosu for the first time last week with my boyfriend. We ordered bunch of meats (mostly beef & pork) and veggies, appetizers (popcorn chicken, crab rangoon and edamame), desserts (creme brulee and smores) and barley tea (so good). It's worth the price for the all the food we ordered. The sauces they have is delicious--soy, gochujang and peanut sauce. Clever combo! Though gochujang is still my fave. Despite all the goodness of the food & experience, I am giving 4 stars because I think that their seafood selection is still limited. I was hoping they would have squids or octopus on the menu--considering this is still korean bbq place. But then, I thought to myself, this is a fusion restaurant too, so I should not have expected much. Also, another issue I got is that there's no exhaust for each grill. My eyes was a bit hurting due to the smoke. I guess I'm used to the korean bbq place in asia, where they have exhaust right on top of the grill, so that your clothes won't smell and your eyes are not hurting. Went to Mosu for our 23rd wedding anniversary. Brought the kids for some extra laughs. They didn't disappoint. Food was phenomenal! Our server did a great job talking us through the iPad ordering system and we were off! Had the AYCE Asian BBQ. So good! Can't wait to go back and try the hot pot! Pricey but worth it. It's been tough without AYCE korean bbq since I moved to upstate NY. And then I found there's Mosu during a work trip. I went with 2 other co-workers and got the AYCE bbq. The price is pretty standard and there was a surprisingly large selection of items to choose from. The space is huge and the staff was very quick and attentive. You order everything from the ipad which makes it super easy and you don't have to wait for the server to come back. We ordered a bunch of items so I'm just going to touch on a couple stand out items. For apps I loved the seaweed salad and the scallops. The scallops are breaded nicely and the scallop was still moist and soft. For the meats I would recommend any of the marinated meats in the beef section. The meat, if cooked properly, will be soft and well seasoned. Amongst the seafood, the miso shrimp was super good. Don't over cook it though or it'll be tough. Also try the lamb and lamb shanks. They're really good value for the quality. The dessert was awesome. The creme brulee was delish! I think it's limited to 2 per person but I think they're a good size and I was good with just one. I got a nice $15 grilled chicken veggie bowl for dinner followed by a $5 matcha bubble tea. It was a simple, healthy meal. I was ravenous and the staff was nice. They fed me quickly. The meal was as I envisioned. I saw the kbbq grills and the hot pots. I would have been happy to go to town with one meal or another, but that was not to be. My hubby was taking me out for date night. He wanted to decompress and have drinks at the bar. So the bartenders were very attentive and quickly took my food order. Somehow they realized that I was super hungry. I was also not drinking since I was the designated driver. This was one of those rare occasions when I was too distracted to remember to photograph my meal. The decor is modern. It looks upscale. My only issue was with the enormous dragon geisha-lady mural at the bar. Why did it appear that the geisha's eyes were bleeding? Didn't anyone think that might be alarming? Isn't a "dragon lady" an awful stereotype in this day and age? The colors were wonderfully vivid, but I found the mural offensive as well as an example of cultural appropriation. However, the artist is entitled to speech and expression. The owners are an investment group. They've apparently used the mural as a sort of trademark. If you plan to eat Chinese hot pots or AYCE kbbq, they're a big commitment since everybody at the table will share grills and hot pots. You'll need to be on the same page. According to the reviews, some people found the bbq unauthentic and a bit pricey. Others were disappointed that the meats weren't marinated. I like mine marinated, but some experts believe if the cuts of meat are great they won't need marinating. Maybe I'll come back to try these meals sometime. I just don't want to sit in front of the disturbing mural again. It's an Asian fusion restaurant so I won't expect everything to be authentic. Listen the all you can eat option is not cheap, but it's worth every single penny!! We did the BBQ grill (there's also a hot pot option). It is such a fun experience start to finish. You can order whatever you want including cooked appetizers, plenty of different raw meats and veggies and desserts. It's super easy to cook on the grill and a fun time. We never spend a long time out to eat just the 2 of us and we spent 2 hours out New Year's Eve having fun! We also enjoyed some sake, soju and earl grey tea martinis that were just amazing. I've been to a number of Korean barbecue places and I feel like Mosu is probably my favorite one. The rest of them tend to fall in either the two cheap categories with in expensive cuts of meat or the two expensive category where it ends up costing close to $100 per person. I enjoyed that Mosu had both à la cart and all you can eat options. And while I was sad that there was only two of the typical side dishes available, they could be ordered via the iPad in the quantities that we wanted. We also enjoyed the lunch specials, including the green tea ice cream that we picked for dessert. The service was top notch and in a style that I've seen in high-end restaurants around the country where there were multiple people at the host station and while we had a primary server, there was a constant stream of employees that took care of us. Pretty good Asian BBQ place (think Korean BBQ). We went with the AYCE pricing to make life simpler. They also have hot pot. Your party has to choose either BBQ or Hot pot. We went with BBQ. My first time here. Decent choices and quality meats. Wish there were more sauce choices... the default is the 3 they bring you in a 3 divider dipping dish. I guess I could have asked for some hot sauce or something but I didn't bother or is it really needed. Fun to do grilling your own meats and seafood. Nice contemporary atmosphere. Good service. Wish the vegetables came out at near the same time as the meats. The lettuce came out much later, almost as if it was forgotten but it did show up. 2 hour limit which goes by quick since we ordered appetizers first, then main dish, and finished with crème brulee. I suppose if I ordered it all at the same time then there would not be as much wait. No hurry though. Order is done via an iPad. User interface was intuitive and simple to use, although the menu did lock up on us once and the server had to unlock and restart the app for us to use. No big deal. I will likely want to come back and do the hot pot. The music can be a bit loud if you are seated near the bar but that's just me. MOSU was very good, or close to great BUT also had a few misses and opportunities for improvement. The food and meat tasted great and the experience was fun. The service was so-so, needs improvement in some areas. They seemed to try hard but also seems rushed and inexperienced. The iPad menu ordering system needs a few tune ups or improvements. We didn't get given the chopsticks that was explained in the process/instructions and had to ask for them and we also had to ask what the dipping sauces were AND THEN had to ask what the nibbler starter stuff was that was brought to the table. (Not the ordered apps- but what they start every table with). We had said we had never been before and new to this. After still not getting much info, I tried to jokingly say to our server we wanted to know everything but she kind of didn't pick up on it so we just had to continue to ask about things. We also had to ask for water refills as there is no way to order it and our glasses sat empty and she and other servers visited multiple times. Next: the beer menu: absolutely appalling. We were there for a special occasion and planned to have some drinks. Not based on this beer menu! There was 5 or 6 choices: Heineken, Sapporo, 2 IPAs and a stout. Nothing light. No Corona, no coors, nothing. I understand the theme but we didn't want to drink anything heavy before the big all you can eat meal. Missed opportunity there and needs improvement. When the manager floated around and walked to our area, I mentioned it to him and he said it's a balance of what to have on draft or in bottle/can and also due to the pandemic stuff wasn't moving thru the taps. Okay, I understand that, but make some room in the cooler for a few more cans or bottles. He explained they had 6 taps but only 2 or 3 on because they weren't going thru then and only wanted to offer fresh. I said that's strange we didn't see draft in the drink list on menu on the iPad. He said yes: it says draft or can or bottle under each selection and pulled it up on the iPad on our table and much to his surprise - Nope - that wasn't in there. It said can of Sapporo. and the others didn't say if they were can or bottle or draft. Not a huge deal, but a lost opportunity for sure. The food was very good. For starters: We enjoyed the crab Rangoons and fried dumplings, but the fried scallops app wasn't good at all. The steaks and shrimp were fantastic and the star of the show. The calamari you cook was really good but we both liked the miso and garlic for both the shrimp and squid and didn't like the gochujang ones. (But you have to eat everything, or possibly be charged). We also didn't love the pork or short rib. Really disappointed with the "pork belly", lacked any flavor whatsoever. The dipping sauces are great! Really enhanced the flavor of some of the cooked items. We got pineapple probably 5 times. Grilled pineapple is simply amazing and delicious. We ate it during the meal and again ordered it for desert and also tried the ice creme and creme brûlée. The strawberry ice cream was probably the best I've had in 15 years! We also had gotten the asparagus onions and mushrooms. Skip the mushrooms. I love mushrooms but they are just plain and took forever to cook, due to the size. Overall, we will certainly return, and we will try the hot pot next time, but have had that locally before. based on the price point, trips to MOSU will likely be a special occasion or infrequent but overall recommend a trial visit and a welcomed addition to the area! Pro Tips: 1. Don't use the same tongs you touched raw meats and seafoods with to removed cooked items you will eat, instead use chopsticks or fork... 2.Don't over crowd the grill. Ours really only had 1 hot section to cook, only about 1/2 of it worked and cooked anything. 3. Strategically cook in order you want to eat and based on cooking times, having a full grill of skinny steaks means everything will be done at once and get over cooked or go cold. And the best one: 4. Order fried rice 2nd and onions and pineapple, 1st. Cook and then cut the onions and pineapple and when the fried rice comes combine them (and optional add meat). If you're looking for somewhere nice to treat yourself or celebrate some big news, this is a great place. You can check out their a la carte menu, but I would recommend taking the all you can eat option (at least for your first time going) so you can try a sampling of what they have to offer. If you take that route, you can either pick the Asian BBQ option or the Hot Pot option. You're given 90 minutes, so feel free to take your time and soak it in (get it?) I went with Hot Pot, where you can pick two broths as bases to cook the rest of your selection in. After choosing the curry broth and miso broth, a waiter came over to add the broth bases (still in solid form) directly into the pot and then pour hot water over top to slowly blend it in and bring the broth to a boil. Once boiling, you can start dropping food in to cook. Most things took 30 seconds or so to cook, so it's a really convenient and easy process. The things that take longer, like the fresh noodles, still only take two or three minutes. The curry broth has a good kick to it, spicier than I expected. The miso broth is rich and flavorful. I tried the beef, lamb, shrimp, fresh noodles, mushrooms, broccoli, dumplings, and maybe more. It was all really fresh and the ingredients absorbed the flavor from the broth quickly. The all you can eat option also included already cooked appetizers, like wontons and dumplings, that you could order throughout the meal, as well as drinks and desserts (get the crème brûlée, trust me). My wife has wanted to come here for months, but I don't like to eat out in the current environment. However, I felt that exceptions (risks?) must be made sometimes and this was one of them. So, I made reservations online which was a simple process. We were quickly seated into booths that seemed close to other couples also eating, and I assumed all of our conversations would be overheard. However, that wasn't the case and it was quite intimate. I should point out that loud music... mostly Korean but with odd stuff like Donna Lewis mixed in... was a constant drone in the background. I suppose if it was Def Leppard or Judas Priest I would have loved it. We were new to the table BBQ scene though my wife had seen it before. No instructions were given on how to turn on the grill, and we had to ask after our meats were delivered and the servers were leaving. Odd. However, ordering via the tablet was relatively easy. We were given three different sauces to dip our meats in. I loved two, and my wife loved the third one, so I guess they played to all crowds. We started off with several appetizers (included in the price) that were utterly unremarkable. The scallops had a weird texture and my wife thought that they were made from minced scallop shaped into a patty. She might be right. The calamari and popcorn chicken were dry, and whatever seasoning was dusted on didn't add much flavor. The mayo sauce was nice, but I expected more. The fried rice had only two flavors: onions, and nothing. If you found an onion you got the first flavor, and if you didn't you got the second. Boring. I suggest you avoid most of the appetizers. She had a salad and I think she enjoyed it. She said the hot tea was of good quality. I won't go into all the types of meats and veggies that were available, but there were a lot of options. I wanted to try lots of things, and she kept repeating the ones we enjoyed. Needless to say, we filled up before the whole menu was exhausted. I really enjoyed the marinated ribeye, and the chicken wings were fun. She liked several of the steak options too. I wish I could have explored the seafood more but the deveined shrimp were good. The mushrooms in the foil were regular white button mushrooms. The corn on the cob was terrible: out of season, it was mushy and it took forever to cook. It had really no flavor. I guess I should have seen that coming considering it is February. Dinner was an unrushed 90 minutes. At the end I had "smores" for dessert and my wife had creme brule, which she said was very good. Ironically, I found the marshmallows the hardest thing to cook because I like mine "flame broiled" and that isn't possible on these grills. But, we managed. In the end, it was a lot of fun. It was very filling... no doubt aided by the rice, salt, and sugar included in nearly all the foods we ate. It wasn't cheap, but it was reasonable for a "special occasion" meal. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The place is warm, inviting, and intimate. On the downside, I still have that stupid Donna Lewis song stuck in my head. Ok, here it goes, review #200. Drum roll please :) Meat lovers rejoice! AYCE Korean BBQ has arrived to the Capital Region. Never had Korean BBQ? You are in for a treat. Choice cuts of marinated meat are presented to you at your table where you prepare the food yourself. If you have some cooking knowledge you will have a blast. If you don't they have a great system to help you out. I will talk about that shortly. Also know that eating Korean BBQ and the preparation of it is a true bonding experience. Going on one of your first few dates? This is perfect!! Have a group of friends you like to hang with? KBBQ is just what the meat doctor ordered. Mosu has the ordering process down to a science. They hand you a tablet and you can order your drinks, meat, veggies, sides and dessert from the tablet. Servers come from the kitchen and pile up your table with the expansive options. The servers were friendly and very effecient. They have a tab that gives you cooking suggestions. I will make it simple for you. If it has a bone it takes the longest (the chicken wings are really worth the effort though.) Chicken filets and beef cook quickly. Pork takes slightly longer and veggies longer still. Wait for shrimp to change color and have the tail curl. They offer a few selections wrapped in foil. Wait a decent amount of time before you unwrap. They had salmon to cook in the foil. It was delicious! My favorite items were the rib eye and short ribs, curry chicken, lamb chops and garlic shrimp. The pork belly and loin wasn't all that great. The pork belly was cut like bacon and I am used to a much different presentation. I appreciated that they offered vegetables and it definitely added to the meal. The wife and I ordered bubble tea which was pricey but tasty. They even offer Smores for dessert. Who doesn't love a Smore! Now, you are probably wondering, how much will this avalanche of meat be costing me? 50 dollars! A complimentary beverage, a cup of plain or fried rice, the amazing selection of protein and veggies and a simple dessert. This is a very generous price and the meat is absolutely of higher quality. There is a certain local place that offers at the table KBBQ. You would need to take out a personal loan to equal what you get at Mosu. I am sure this place will be packed for the foreseeable future. You get two options which are either pay for the food you ask for and you pay it off in the end, or pay 50$ and get All you can eat ( AYCE ) for 2 hours. It doesn't come with Alcoholic drinks and bubble teas, but does come with beverages like Pepsi, sprite etc. We picked the second choice as our option. It looks amazing inside, there's lights everywhere and they have huge wall paintings. Each table has a BBQ/hotpot option on it where customers sit. Once sited, you order your food with an iPad and the staff bring it in afterwards. The food quality is amazing. We got all types of appetizers which included Crab Rangoon, Fried dumplings, fried shrimp, chicken, etc. Everything was very good, specially the Crab Rangoon. I think that's the best appetizer they have. We also got hot and sour soup. There's' more option like Vegetables, salads but we didn't get those. For the hotpot broth we got the spicy broth and the tomato broth. The spicy broth was perfect for sea food while the other one was really good for meat. Meat options were also very diverse. They had chicken, pork, beef and lamb as well as special options such as beef meatball, sausage etc. For seafood items, they had calamari, shrimp, lobster balls, crawfish, oysters, etc. My favorite items were the beef, calamari, shrimp. The iPad has a guide that tells you how long you should cook them for the best experience. Make sure to add some garlic to your food and make it taste even better. Regardless of how great the food was, I don't think it was worth 50$. I think if you decided to take the BBQ instead of Hot pot, you might get your moneys worth. The place is really clean and I can tell that Mosu wants the best for their customers. Also, people may think $50 is expensive for 1 person, but with the items you are getting, I really do not think $50 is an expensive price at all (including quality of meats, appetizers, and everything included with the deal); 1 steak will cost at least $30 so $50 at this place is such an amazing deal. 3. People may think because this is an unlimited style restaurant, the quality of the meats are not that great, but from my own experience from other restaurants, you can tell that they use high quality of meats and they never disappointed me. From the food to the service, the whole experience is a model for what a 5 star establishment should be. Went with another person and got the all-you-can eat Korean BBQ Customer Service: Our waitress (Sarah) was incredible, and I love their model of how to order and how quickly the food comes out. It's unique and a little tough to explain easily via writing, but the promptness, politeness, and demeanor from the team was top notch. Atmosphere: Highlight to mention is that the fan is built into the table for the Korean BBQ. So the smoke and smell that comes off the food while you are cooking didn't make its way into you hair and clothes. The place is also very kept and COVID safe. You get 2 hrs to eat all you can eat for $50 kids under 6yrs old eat free. You order from a touchscreen on your table, once the order is placed everything runs along so smoothly from the kitchen to your table! These portions or small I guess to cook quickly on the grill. You get seasons and runs to touch up your meals . Salmon, chicken, beef, mussels, and fresh vegetables even a seaweed salad! The meat were sliced very thin and was either very bland or over salted with just salt No other seasons. At other authentic Korean barBQ places the kalbi and other options of meat are marinated really delicious, & the portions are more generous. unfortunately here they don't marinate the all you can eat option. I went to Mosu for the first time and decided to try the all you can eat hot pot. You have a 2 hour time limit to eat anything and everything you want. Our server was very kind and explained how everything worked very well. The other servers that brought us our food as we ordered were also very kind. They made the experience feel a lot more welcoming. The vibe in the restaurant is great. Definitely would be a great place to have a get together of any kind. Lots of variety to choose from! The taste of the food was excellent. It is a cook-it-yourself place, so keep that in mind! There are tips on the iPad at the table that recommend cooking times, etc. There also are some additional charges for items like alcohol, special meats, etc. You'll see that when you go to order each item, so it shouldn't come as a surprise when you go to pay. I've come here quite a few times and each time I feel my money is left well spent. The vibe inside is comfortable and you really feel like you can relax, talk and eat. I love being able to be in charge of when and what I order when I feel ready. Their food is absolutely delicious. I love their sauce trio for their bbq side, as well as the dessert. The crème brûlée is otherworldly. There's a 2 limit order per person and thank god because I'd eat them out of it. Everything comes out in a timely manner once ordered on the iPad. I've also done the hotpot once and that was a great experience and I think my favorite side just because there is more veggie options and I love veggies in the hotpot broth. The only downside is there are so many different meats I'd love to give a try because I've never had before but the portion for the meats are huge and you have to finish everything to not get charged for it. I couldn't normally eat that much of any meat so it was a bit disappointing that they don't have a sampler or size change like (just trying!) so you can get a piece each. Went to this spot on opening night and the night following. The staff was nice and attentive, I think they need little more training now the grill and how to adjust the burners appropriately and also need to get their iPad working right as the second night we had plenty of iPad issues and had to wait for over 30 mins for one when we got there. The food is good but the pork selection is weak and even the manager agreed it wasn't thick cut pork belly and was just bacon. Would like to see more lamb options too. Wouldn't mind some more spicy and authentic options. This place reminds me of the chain gyu-kaku and feels like a cheap copy as mosu has a high price point but not the variety of options it's competitors offer like gyu-kaku. Will return in 6months to let them get problems sorted and hopefully more options read more

This place is exactly what I was hoping for in Korean dining. Tables complete with grills and an easy tablet ordering system to pick out whatever you'd like. I like that the price per person includes everything in the tablet and the service is quick to the table with your requests. Everything is well seasoned and it's up to you to cook it to your liking. It's a busy, fun, somewhat upscale restaurant with a lot going on during peak dinner hours, especially on weekends. I've been to Mosu before and it's fine I enjoyed my time but nothing to write home about. But today family and I made a reservation (a little prematurely I'll admit) for 6-7 People for a birthday party in two days.. 15 minutes later we called to cancel because there were a few people that weren't so sure about the restaurant. so no big deal in my mind well just call to cancel and apologize. When we call it's immediately a giant ordeal and we get transferred to a manager and the manager tells us that we are banned from ever eaten there again don't call for reservations or ever show up there again. I'd advise stay away from this place, the foods basic, the service is basic, the price is abhorrent and the management is apparently even worse. read more

Is this traditional kbbq? No. It isn't, and anyone coming here should be aware of that. However, is it still one of the best meal experiences I've had in Upstate NY? Absolutely. Truth be told I was scared walking in- the decor and price point in particular were two things I was not accustomed to. Kbbq nowadays has turned into such a fancy version of itself, and Mosu definitely follows that trend. However, unlike other AYCE kbbq restaurants, Mosu has good food! Their appetizers are actually really good. Their dumplings shocked me in particular, and I really like their shu mai too, thank godness they aren't deep fried. However, Mosu really stands out with their meats. Their meat quality is absolutely sublime, the ribeye cuts melt in your mouth, the short ribs are marinated beautiful and have good marbling. The texture of the Fliet Mignon is to die for. While Mosu misses the more traditional aspects of KBBQ (no soybean paste stew, limited Banchan, no Ssamjang, the wrong type of white rice) their meat quality and flavor is unlike any other and for that reason alone they deserve 5 stars- it is that good. Stef was our server he was helpful and attentive: he talked us through the process. Very simple with the iPad that they give you, and you can see exactly what you are spending. We went with the a la carte and it was pretty reasonable. If you are hungry just go with the $50 all you can eat option then you don't have to worry about ordering all the little dishes. A modern restaurant with tables for hot pot, Korean barbecue, and table service at the bar. We came with a large group for the barbecue and the food was delicious. We did the all you can eat which was worth it food wise. They do have a two hour time limit and with a large group it wasn't enough time given it took 20 minutes for us to be seated and figure out the menus since it was our first time there. There is one menu per table on an iPad and you order through that and the food comes out pretty quickly - but when multiple people have to look at one menu and decide what to eat that takes a lot of time! You cook the food yourself on the barbecue - that was fun but did take quite a bit of time to cook veggies and meat for seven people!! They do charge for excessive food waste, which makes sense so people aren't ordering things they don't eat. We didn't mind that, but it was a little challenging to get everything cooked in time with such a large group. The waitress seemed rushed at the start and there was pressure to leave after the two hours. We also had to ask multiple times for drinks hence only the four stars. I would probably give the service three stars and the food five stars. We had filet mignon and lamb chops that were amazing along with some great sides - the Kim chi, cabbage and shumai were faves. Went here for my s/o's birthday as a party of three. I booked the reservation online while carefully looking at the menu... are the prices listed on the website or did I miss them? Upon arriving and checking in we were slapped with a 55$ per person charge for all you can eat. Plus a single bottle of soju and tip the bill was nearly 250$ - not at all what I was expecting due to lack of clear pricing online. Additionally, I'm not sure what exactly I was tipping for due to the fact that you order everything off of a tablet and multiple people will come and drop it off - it didn't seem like we had a designated server at all so I hope they pool tips. Ultimately it'll come down to how you feel about all you can eat vs a la carte. We came with four adults, each order of meat is definitely just enough for maybe 1 serving per person so budget accordingly.
