Mosu is about as hip and as new age as you can possibly get for the Capital Region. All you can eat, cook it yourself meats and Asian apps at $50 bucks a person. I mostly stuck with the chicken, beef, salmon, and shrimp but they have pork and Lamb options as well. The appetizer list is long but included in the price as well as the dessert menu. Sodas are included but alcohol obviously isn't. Careful because at $50 bucks a person, two people can easily leave with full bellies and a $200 dollar bill so stick to the Sprite. I'll definitely go back but this place is more of a treat or special occasion rather than a place to frequent. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars: No Crab or Lobster. A simple concept executed perfectly. I took my family there for dinner and it was a treat. The food was tasty and the service and drinks were spectacular. The wait staff kept and eye on us without being intrusive and the food showed up at a steady rate. I usually get my BBQ meat from New Jersey and around NYC. I was in Albany for the weekend and wanted to check this spot out. This spot is offering unlimited bbq for $50. Overall the food and decor were very nice. Each table is given a iPad and has 2 hours to eat. I would recommend this to anyone that wants quality meat. My only complaint is the service, it declined each time we ordered more meat. The service slowed down significantly and the servers seemed to want us to leave even though we had another hour to eat. This is now my fav local restaurant. My family went for all you can eat style bbq for 50 dollars per person plus tax and 20% service charge. The food was soooo great and my favorite part is def the cream brûlée. I like how you can use their tablet to order whatever u want instead of waiting for waiters to come around and ask if you need anything else at the other restaurants. This part really reminds me of my home city (Shanghai, China). Plz note there is a 2 hrs limit per seating but the time is long enough for you be stuffed because the services here is very efficient, they bring my orders over within 5 mins since I submit the orders. I've tried plenty of KBBQ spots in the northeast area and this has topped my list. Meat cuts are generous, seasoned well, and come quickly after ordering. Vegetable options were fresh and appetizers came out warm. Desserts, especially the crème brûlée was amazing. Ordering off the iPad was truly innovative and made the experience that much better not having to wait for our server to take our order. I love that drinks and sauces were included in the AYCE option. One thing I think they could clarify is that they hold back on items if they think guests are unable to finish them. My partner and I ordered a good amount of meat because we knew how much we could eat however, the kitchen held back from delivering all our meat at once. I wish I would've let our server know we would like for all of the meat to arrive as it comes out because yes, we are able to finish it! Came here opening day so some minor hiccups are to be expected, however the staff was so amazing. Everyone was attentive and helpful with the new experience. They will not seat you until your whole party is there, and there is a two hour limit for all you can eat. When you are seated you order on an iPad, and they bring out whatever you order. Tip: don't order everything at once, think about the size of the table! We definitely did not do that, but luckily we were seated at a really big table. I did the BBQ and would recommend the tongue, shrimp, and rib eye. Only thing that could be improved here is the pork belly, it was sliced pretty thin and was pretty much bacon. Probably the worst hot pot experience I have ever had. Please save your money and go somewhere else... at this point I think anywhere is better. I can't speak to their kbbq because we just did their hot pot and you can't do both. If ordering hot pot ingredients a la cart, you won't be full because their portions are super small. The quality of their meat is also fairly mediocre. Also if you choose to order a la cart for your hot pot, you can't change to the AYCE hot pot (even if the AYCE option is more expensive than what you have ordered so far) because they use a point of sales system that is crappy and inflexible. If you request the managers to make a change for you since you are a first time customer, they will just complain that they don't have the time of day to help you or yell at you for not recognizing how they train their staff to tell you no changes can be made (which by the way no one told us). Oh and one more excuse they'll make is that we didn't read the text on their iPad ordering system before placing our order. After you're told you're wrong, they'll proceed to walk abruptly away from the table ending the conversation. And the best part is.. the managers are the owners! Womp womp.. never again. I was honestly very impressed, driven by a million times without even noticing. Went for lunch in a Sunday, decent amount of customers but we were sat in a quiet area. Food came out very quickly each time, wide variety of apps, meats and veggies. You order off a tablet at the table, we paced ourselves by only ordering 2-3 items each time. All the food was very high quality. The highlights were the short ribs, cheese corn, but dessert (included) was the best- crème brûlée, and s'mores. Overall the customer service was fantastic and, yes a bit pricey but to me it was definitely worth it as a special occasion/ treat. read more

While your halmeoni visiting from Seoul (or Flushing) isn't going to recognize it as authentic, Mosu is the best Korean BBQ in the Capital Region. The $50 all you can eat gets you prompt and plentiful portions of many types of beef (including filet mignon and galbi that can hold its own on 32nd Street), chicken, and lamb. It also includes a bunch of "school food" and Chinese-inspired appetizers, like potato cheese mochi and veggie spring rolls, all of which were great. We love Asian food and were waiting for the perfect opportunity to try Mosu. They serve Asian Hot Pot and BBQ. The staple is the All You Can Eat for $50 or $55 per person that includes varied appetizers, lots of meat/seafood/vege choices for main meal, and a few desserts. What could go wrong? Perhaps we have had too many other excellent Asian food choices to compare to. We chose the Hot Pot (choice of two broths-- we selected Bone Broth and Sichuan Medium). The Bone Broth was SALTY and no other noticeable flavor. The Sichuan was ok. Varied sauces could be ordered... we liked the "duck" type sauce and the black vinegar. Others.. blah. The food, in general, was adequate, no more. Our favorites were the crab rangoons, scallops (app or main), salmon, fried shrimp. The fried rice was tasteless, varied other meats were unremarkable, some of the other appetizers were not good (ie. the shumai, and varied dumplings in particular... wrapping was doughy and had no flavor). Noodles were okay. The overall problem was that the food items didn't pick up the broth flavor very well and the dipping sauces didn't add to the experience. Dessert was very limited.. only ice cream or creme brulee. I generally like creme brulee and they got the topping right... however the custard was very bland, but creamy. Aside from the not too pleasing meal, we did not enjoy the experience. You have 2 hours to use an IPad to order many different menu selections... it felt rushed. We received multiple reminders of "time" and 1/2 hour before our table was "done" they made it clear that we had to order dessert or we wouldn't get any. Ten minutes later, they insisted on taking our IPad so we couldn't order anymore. We went with another couple (who had been before so they were more relaxed about the timing)... and wanted to catch up. No time to talk.... since much time was taking for ordering things, deciding the "right" time to get more (they advise you they charge for leftovers), and so on. Basically, if you want a relaxing, good meal... DO NOT GO HERE. We might go back just for drinks and to order the specific things we liked. But not for the expensive, all you can eat. read more

We had the hotpot all you can eat, meat quality is awful, soup base is bland, they didn't put enough ingredients to make it flavorful. Very cheap restaurant! Plus some items were not available (including enoki mushroom and cucumber salad for appetizer). They refused to give us two pots for a group of four. I don't know why for a group four, we can't get two pots with four soup bases, especially one guy in our group doesn't eat beef or pork due to his religion. They are so cheap that they don't respect customers belief. How can a business thrive without satisfying its customers needs, especially when it's reasonable. In addition, I've had several hotpot buffet down in New York City, they usually provide individual pots with your choice of soup base. Mosu provides a big pot with two choices of soup base, is it that hard to provide us four bases for four ppl?? Too cheap! ! The buffet I had in nyc are all less than 30 bucks, and they provide two times more varieties of food, and you can make your own sauce dip with 20 different ingredients. Plus, you can choose to have both bbq and hotpot in one sitting with an additional five dollars. Mosu provides you three sauces that are not authentic at all. What's the watered down peanut butter dip?? Really?? The authentic way is to eat it with sesame paste, I think they are too cheap to offer sesame paste!! And you can only have either bbq or hotpot. If you have a large group, you have to choose one thing to have. What if some want to have hotpot and some want to have bbq? They are not flexible at all. Too cheap!! Plus we saw a hair in the fried shrimp we ordered. We showed it to the waitress, she had very good attitude and apologized, I don't blame her for not offering us a discount or any thing, since she is not the manager. But I suppose the right way to solve this issue is to say I will let my manger know this situation and see what we can make it up for you. But she didn't. I don't think it's her problem, I think they just have very cheap and bad management. Later we told the manager, surprisingly, he said exactly the same thing as the waitress and offered us nothing. My husband and I discovered this place when they first opened. We love coming here for AYCE hot pot and they have a pretty fire brunch menu too. We always have a great time here that's why we come here often. Everyone who works there are very friendly and professional. We also love supporting our local businesses especially in this pandemic. The first thing Albert the manager said was that we signed a waiver (which we didn't) and tried to find a reason why it was our fault. Decided to try this with friends and reserved a table for the Korean BBQ. We were seated promptly and the waitress was very helpful explaining the concept and how to order. We decided to go with the all-you-can-eat option (the only way to go) and got started with ordering drinks and apps. They have a good selection of tasty cocktails. We tried the scallops, smashed cuke salad and sweet potato cheese mochi apps, all delicious. We then started ordering the BBQ items. Everything arrived quickly. We really enjoyed the filet, short ribs and brisket; the ribs and brisket had really great marinades on them. Not crazy about the pork belly and to me chicken is chicken, meh. The lamb and shrimp were also tasty. One note, even though you may arrive hungry, don't overfill your grill! We did initially and our first batch of food took longer to grill due to that. I have been to other hot pot place where the sauce is creamy, nutty and aromatic. The price is $50 per person so it's very expensive. For $50, I expected it to be better tbh. I've been to MOSU 2x. The 1st was for lunch and we had BBQ, & I really enjoyed it. The 2nd time we sat in the bar area and ordered from the kitchen menu. Our food was pretty bad. We ordered an array of things and they were all bad in different ways. The dumpling meat had grizzle in a few dumplings, the short ribs were served in a dish of crease that seeped into the corn, the meatballs were hard as a rock so much so that you could hear over the loud restaurant the tapping of my fork against them. The bao buns were ok, but with the amount of meat served, there wasn't enough buns in my opinion. I would go back for the bbq only because they wouldn't be cooking it!
