Hairs on the bathroom door, in the shower and on the floor. The floor clearly has not been mopped. This management is not helpful at all. I got stuck in Pendleton on my way to Baker City last summer due to fire. The roads were shut down. I called and said that I couldn't make it and needed to cancel my reservation. They told me that since I reserved using the Motel 6 app that they weren't going to refund me. That is not a good business practice. read more

No rug at the entry of the door with hard flooring, no coat rack, no fridge, there was just so much wasted space it was a strange. It seemed mostly clean, which honestly was its saving grace. The rooms had been recently remodeled, they look modern ish. They are just so blank, maybe we came at a transition time. The parking lot is rough, one steep way in and out. We watched someone struggle with a trailer for about 20 minutes. Overall, it's nice that it's outside town, quiet, but it's middle of the road. Not amazing, not bad, just a place to rest. read more

One of the BEST Motel 6's we've stayed in while traveling with our two small dogs! Check-in was simple. The guy who checked us in was friendly, helpful and accommodating. He even gave me half a dozen insulated paper coffee cups because I forgot to pack our coffee mugs with our travel coffee pot (started doing this while on road trips as many accommodations stopped having their free coffee service in the mornings since COVID). He also gave us some great recommendations for food delivery (ended up using Pizza Hut and it did not dissapoint). Our room was very comfortable and clean. One of the cleanest bathrooms we've seen at this chain of motels! Everything worked properly too. The shower was nice and super clean! The water pressure and temperature were great! The linens were clean and beds comfortable. The refrigerator and microwave were also a nice convenience. Overall a great experience! Would highly recommend! read more

This is a Motel 6 in name only. They do not follow the Motel 6 policies. Specifically, that pet's stay free. In fact, they charged me double!!! I specifically cleaned the room by spot mopping before I left. I know most people don't clean like that, but it was raining, and there were muddy puppy paw prints, and it was my responsibility to clean and not housekeeping. Apparently, my respect got me double charged per both pups. So much for doing the right thing!! read more

As a retired airline employee, I have seen many hotels. For a budget motel, this property was simply the best! The rooms are clean, crisp, updated and new. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Peter who was very welcoming and warm and offered me an excellent rate for booking directly with him versus a 3rd party. I was moving to Arizona with the last of my things in my car. Peter reassured me that all would be safe and it was. This property is well maintained, well lit and sits on a nice hill. The clientele appeared to be travelers and some construction workers - everyone was respectful and it was a peaceful night. Booked a two night stay may 19-21 left for a concert in boise on the 20th then drove back to the hotel to stay my last night and my room was emptied by staff and they stole my concealed carry weapon that was in my cpap bag!!! I HAD TO CALL THE COPS AT 1am to file a report!!! They had no buisness packing up my items and taking it to the office when I got to my items I quickly checked where I left my gun and it was GONE!!! DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!! My husband booked the room through Expedia because this motel had decent reviews. I really just needed a place to rest my head on my way to Idaho. I didn't need frills, but needed clean. The room smelled like dirty hair and there were stains on the bedding. I should have guessed this by the state of the lobby as it was dirty and in poor repair. But I signed the "contract" when they gave me the key. I went to the office immediately after seeing room and asked for a refund and was told the room was mine. The man at the desk was rude. I left and went to the Bridge Street Inn, which had friendly service and a clean room. I would give this Motel 6 zero stars if I could. They should have refunded my money immediately. read more

We were on a long road trip, and planned ahead by reserving a room online at this Motel 6. The pictures made it look ok, and we were not too picky. However, when we arrived, we were greeted by a very pleasant staff, and the rooms had been renovated. They were wayyy nicer than the pictures!! I guess new owners took over in October 2018 so it's been looking much better since then. We had our Husky and two kittens with us and they were very accommodating. Overall 5 out of 5 due to pet friendliness, mini-golf course, nice/clean rooms, and plenty of parking. Plus we had a gorgeous view of the sunset over the Blue Mountains. We even checked out the historic Chinese Cemetery that was just a minute away down the road. Very satisfied with our stay! read more

This place was great! Easy to find right off the highway, clean and quiet, and the owners Nancy and Darryl were both incredibly helpful, nice and super friendly. Nice shower, fine bed comfort, good AC fan in the room to block out snoring husband. Complementary morning coffee in the lobby, too. Best part? Free use of the quite impressive mini golf course backed by beautiful desert hills located right at the end of the parking lot - how cool is that? You always know what you're getting with Motel 6, but this one's above and beyond. Plus the night sky view of stars out there....wow. Light pollution is real, people. Awful. Do not stay here. Front desk clerk was not particularly friendly upon check in. Room had a musty smell. I had to lift the door by the handle in order to lock the deadbolt because the door had settled. Wifi was nonexistent, no channel listing or guest directory. Half the TV channels didn't work. Bed was hard, pillows flat. Room doesn't look at all like the pictures shown when booking. I was in town for work and I need up needing to check out a day early to beat a winter storm. I went to the office shortly before 7:30 to check out and inquire about a possible refund of my last night. I had to ring the bell twice (sign on the door started to ring for service between 10 PM as 7 AM with another sign saying to leave the keys in the room if leaving before 6:30 AM) before someone appeared from another hotel room. Upon letting me into the office the front desk clerk almost immediately grabbed the coffee carafe and disappeared. Finally I was able to explain I needed to check out and possibly be refunded. The front desk clerk informed me that they have a 24 hour cancellation period but would refund me, as if I had highly inconvenienced her. I understand having only one manager/desk clerk but someone should be available during reasonable hours. Motel 6s are usually decent but this place was better before it was a motel 6. Won't stay here again. Baker City has better cheap motels. read more

Chelsea wrote a pretty good review below, under the best of circumstances, this place has issues. My experience - however - has to be an anomaly, because it was just too weird. It's a beautifully isolated place, with a serial killer vibe that screams "transients definitely live at this motel." It was the weirdest, most ominous, and Kafka-esque Motel 6 I've ever stayed at, which is crazy, because I'm a Motel 6 aficionado. David Lynch couldn't imagine this place in his wildest imagination. I tell people that about 80% of Motel 6's are fine, %10 are great, and %10 are slightly apocalyptic. Baker City Oregon however, is something completely different. So we picked up our son from a summer internship in Portland, and wanted to get a head start on our way home. We stopped here around 6pm, and it was empty, the front desk receptionist Nancy was doing laundry, so we waited, no biggie. Our room was very clean, and I was optimistic about getting a good nights sleep before the long drive the next day. We went into Baker City to eat, and found it charmingly historic, with a bit of an artistic vibe. Get to sleep around ten and everything is going well. Then the "evening" arrivals starting - the first being a loud diesel truck driven by a man who looks like he was in a homeless version of a ZZ Top cover band. Again, super normal. It's Motel 6. But he will be back - very intoxicated - later in our story. Then more guests, and it starts getting weird. On top of our room, a "family" of at least 8 people arrived, and started to unpack. For at least 45 minutes they were up and down, moving their stuff, talking loudly, super jovial. It's 11:30, but still not too crazy. I'm up, but I'm assuming it will quiet down after midnight. It doesn't. There is this weird "stomping" sound, like they are doing some sort of dance. It's relentless, along with a few of them on the porch above smoking, and throwing their butts down near our door. We are a non-smoking room. It's coming in through the AC. We are all up at this point, and I'm thinking this is surreal. I go to the front desk, where the attendant Nancy is still doing laundry. I wait. I have no idea how much laundry this Motel 6 produces, but there are only 5 vehicles in the lot. I reintroduce myself to Nancy, because she acts like she's never seen me before. I ask her if she could politely ask the guests above us if they could try to be a little more considerate. She tells me no, because "they just checked in". I said that was weird, because my family has been awake, listening to them, for at least an hour and a half. Nancy informs me it was just ten minutes ago. I'm like - huh - this Motel 6 is in some kind of time warp. So I go back and verify with my wife and son that I'm not completely insane, and hallucinating the monster people above, stomping on the cheap laminate floors in steel tip construction boots. They agreed it was very loud, for very long. Then I ask our nice neighbors above if they could keep it down. They say "keep what down", and laugh at me. Then Nancy calls the police on my family for being "belligerent". We leave, it's 1 AM, and we have to drive another two hours to find another place to stay. As we are leaving, the weird ZZ Top trucker dude is hurling obscenities at us. I'm assuming he was either a friend of Nancy's or the stomping people, but don't really care. They seem to live there, while we were obviously unwanted interlopers disrupting whatever weird scene was going on there. Strangest Motel 6 experience ever, which is really saying something, because I realize it's not the Mandarin Oriental. Time to move on up in the world and use the Super 8 I guess. read more

So I came through town last week and got tired and booked a room on bookings .com and went to motel 8 it worked fine. So this week same time same town but this week I went to motel 6 and they wouldn't honor my reservation and booking .com wanted the same amount of money to cancel so I'm short I had to pay for the room twice it's a scam he does all the time if you book on line the guy at motel 6 will cheat you go some where else.
