I would definitely stay here again. The room was clean and comfortable. I barely heard any sound outside the room. Front desk evening and morning were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had many good choices including protein. This is hotel, not motel. Some observations not worth knocking a star. No elevator. Door closed but needed shove to be sure engaged. Breakfast room felt tight walking between tables. AC occasionally made odd sound a few seconds but didn't bother sleep. Breakfast had scrambled egg, waffles with strawberries, chocolate chips, powdered sugar, and syrup. Biscuits and gravy. Yogurt with granola. Toast. Peanut butter. Didn't see cream cheese. read more

I guess it's an ok place to stay. I was given a handicap room that had the only exterior door to the parking lot of any room which was great. The door from the hallway was very difficult to open and that area of the room is very dark with no lighting. The floors were vinyl in this room, which is nice as it is very easy to clean. Maybe due to the exterior door, the room was fairly noisy with freeway noise. The bed was fair. I was bothered by the front desk. Clear sign stating masks required, yet what I assume to be the manager wasn't wearing a mask. He was training someone who only covered her mouth with the mask. It's really not that hard to follow the rules and keep everyone safe. Breakfast was eggs, gravy and biscuits, cereal and waffles. Fresh and hot at 6 AM. I think that the major hotel chains need to have minimum standards when they license their logos. read more

Was really surprised at how nice the rooms were! Looking at the exterior of the building, you might think this is an old run down motel, but we stayed over night, and the pool was very nice and warm. The hot tub was fun, and the rooms were clean with a lot more amenities than you would expect! Definitely would recommend! read more

Driving along the freeway there aren't many places to stop. We had huge issues the previous night finding a place to stay and no hotels had any rooms along the coast because everyone was flocking to the beach since inland was 112 degrees, yuck. So we figured we better book a room ahead of time. I called the number and booked the room. Heads up they try about 5 times to get you to sign up for their hotel rewards and "get deals". I kept telling them I don't want any deals, I want to book a room and thats it. So I booked the room, got to the hotel. There isn't much for food around the area so best bet is to head to Safeway or Albertsons and grab food. My room had a microwave and a mini fridge. I mainly booked here because I needed a fridge that had a mini freezer. So the freezer was mostly frozen over. I could only fit 3 water bottles in the freezer shoved in, so that was disappointing. In the front the 1st floor has doors that open to the outside. But towards the end they are on the inside. Would have been sooo much easier to get in and our if all of the doors were outside, especially for people who are handicapped. The shower reeked of mold and the pool was closed. Someone had left an alarm on all night long which was pretty annoying. There was no "do not disturb sign" so the housekeeping came knocking about 9 am and again about a half an hour later. Check out isn't until 11am, so maybe they should check with the front desk to see if someone has checked out instead of continuing to come knock on their door and trying to get in the room waking them up. When we did go outside the room the cleaning lady had a scowl on her face like she hated her job and just gave me a dirty look. If you dont like you job, than find something else. read more

Won't stay there again! Has anyone else been charged the $250 smoke cleaning fee? We are 70+year olders and both X-smokers for over 35 years! X-smokers detest the smell tobacco yet alone pot!!! This super 8 charged us, of course, after we checked out. Think about it---what a scam. Just charge your guests credit card after they have left and see who is going to fight the accusation!!! If we got charged, I think there must be a lot more!!! What and easy and money making scam! $250--double there normal room rate, just for a simple credit card entry!!! read more

This place looked nice enough online, and seeing as my husband and I were just looking for somewhere to sleep as we were passing through, it looked like it would get the job done. The front desk girl seemed annoyed that we were checking in and pulling her away from playing on her phone. When we go to the room it did not look like it did online. It was run down and dingy to say the least. When I was checking behind the beds it was visibly dirty. Everything in the hotel seemed to be broken. The people staying across the hall from us were obviously tweakers and you can hear everything room to room. All in all a terrible experience. I would rather sleep in my truck then stay here again. read more

We've stayed here at least twice a year over the last 10 years and I'm really disappointed this time. There were exposed wires down the hallway that were flickering. There were a large group of middle school kids who were both rude and playing chicken. When asking if they would please stay in the 4ft plus area because we had little kids, one of the kids became super rude. No parents were around and when seeking help from the front desk, it was met with hesitance to deal with the large group of kids. Also, the charger they advertised was not working and the staff member did not know anything about it. read more

We paid over $180 for a Saturday night stay as we traveled across country. It was one of those days where we drove as far as we could until we got too tired. I genuinely appreciated finding a hotel that suited our family of five. My biggest complaint was the overly putrid smelling room. When we opened the door to our three bed suite we were hit with the worst smells imaginable. It was so rancid and musty and disgusting I couldn't even believe it. Never in my life have I stayed at such a horrible smelling hotel room. Or any room for that matter. The beds were reasonable not too soft and not too hard. One flat pillow provided per person. The TV wasn't even hooked up properly but my husband works in the tech field so it wasn't an issue for long but for the normal guest who doesn't want to move entertainment center furniture around to mess with wires, that would be of an inconvenience. Be aware for pets there is a $10.00 fee per pet was charged. I don't travel much but I assume this is a reasonable rate. The saving grace which is why they got two stars and not one is the free breakfast was amazing. Very generous, well stocked and I ate until stuffed! What a blessing! The gentleman who checked us in was very nice but the woman who was working the Saturday morning front desk you could tell was overworked trying to keep up with the breakfast bar and the front desk all by herself. This hotel is not bad as far as Super 8's go. There's not a lot of other options around. I only stayed a couples hours to sleep when driving home from Utah. The hallways of the hotel are pretty dingy looking but the rooms are much nicer, must have been redone recently. My beef with this hotel is that not long after I used my credit card here to check in, there was fraud reported on the card and it there were attempts to use it for a couple hundred dollars. This is the only place I have used to the card in about a month, and it happened immediately after using the card here so I am pretty sure this is the place it happened. read more

My family stayed at Super 8, 6/22-6/26/23 for the Baker City Cycling Classic. The staff was very helpful, always asking if we needed anything. Good breakfast, eggs, biscuits/gravy, cereal and waffles. The pool and hot tub were great! Our room was clean and AC worked! We would definitely stay here again. read more

One Employee Ruins it ALL. I'll add that the owner is an enabler. I had to drive to Boise to pickup my girlfriend and her flight ended up 3 hours delayed. This put me driving back at 1:30am and arriving back to Baker City at 3:30am. I tried calling to see if there was any way I could cancel my room so I could book one in Boise as I had worked all day in the sun and was very tired already. The employee who answered the phone picked up and mumbled something, I let him know I could not hear or understand him, he then mumbled again. I again, let him know I could not hear or understand him and he hung up on me. I called back multiple times and he repeatedly picked up and hung up immediately without answering. Mind you, this is 1 in the morning while I'm at the airport trying to make arrangements to avoid driving exhausted. He finally answered and yelled, "I told you to hold" I replied "I nicely explained I couldn't hear or understand you" he then hung up again. I tried a total of 33 times to get through and even called the hotel across the street to call and give him my number just in case there was something wrong with his phone, but I never received a call back. I talked to the owner in the morning who was kind, and apologized but only make excuses for him and said she'd talk to him and review the security footage to see what he was doing. I ran into him in the lobby last night and confronted him and told him never to hang up on customers. I also wanted to explain what happened so he understood the depth of how it effected us driving in late while I was tired as I could get a hold of anyone to see my options. He replied with "I don't want to talk to you and if you keep talking I'll have you vacated, I have no problem vacating you, this conversation is over" I'm former Air Force Security Forces (police) I grew up working hard and respecting others. This employee is the most disrespectful person I've ever met. I've never had or heard of such garbage treatment. I'll say that my experience at this hotel aside from him was pleasant, but the reason for my rating is not only my experience with him, but when I again confronted the owner she said it's hard to find employees and she had already talked to him and put him on a warning. I explained this 2nd encounter was last night after she talked to him & gave him a warning and she didn't say anything after that. I've managed teams at 2 different careers I've held. I never let any of my employees off the hook for poor customer service. If you can find a room at a different hotel I'd recommend doing so. I myself will go out of my way to never stay here again. If we as a country continue to reward bad behaviors we will continue to receive poor service. I won't support a company or business who allows such treatment to continue. As a business owner myself I understand problems come up with employees, but it's my job to take strict actions to remedy those problems and protect my customers from further disappointments. read more

Staying here was definitely in my top 5 worst places. At check in I made sure to confirm room would be clean and nonsmoking (I have asthma so...this is a priority). I was told the room is smoke free but no guarantees about not smoking or odor in the room. 1st room had blood on the sheets (not mine) and smelled of cigarette smoke. Second room not much better, smelled like a kennel and smoke. Too tired to complain and would it even have mattered...No. At least the bed didn't look like it had been used abused and put away dirty. Ended up sleeping with the window open to breathe (2nd floor room no access from outside). And the people...it was like a taping of the show Interventions or Cops was going to start filming any minute. Narcan anyone??? Barely slept at all. Didn't try the breakfast but surprisingly it looked like it might've been good. Basic cold continental breakfast items but also had scrambled eggs along with biscuits and gravy. Paid extra for this experience through Booking.com. Next time Booking.yeah....nope...Booking.nah!!! read more

Receptionist was very nice during check in later in the night around 9pm. It was quiet and in a good location right across the street from a gas station. Couple small fast food places down the street; McDonald's, taco time, Pizza Hut. The room itself was big and pretty clean. The king size bed was really uncomfortable and the pillows were also worn out. The bathroom is also outdated with yellow appliances, the shower would make a ton of noise as you were in it. Making you question if the rooms by you would be annoyed with a late night shower. Overall, not a bad stay if you just need a place to crash during your travels, not a luxury stay. read more

Stayed here in March, 2021. This is one of those places that creeps you out to the point that you don't want to touch anything in your room! This place is right next to the freeway so, noisy! It has creepy Hindu idols everywhere. The sheets and blanket looked like they were purchased at The Salvation Army, very thin and old. The heater was super noisy and about 30 years old, with sticky controls! The ceiling had a hole in it from water damage, showering is a matter of predicting when the water temperature will go from warm to cold to way too hot! The remuddling was terribly done. We wanted to use the hot tub but it had a gross foam floating on the surface! I will not stay here again. read more

I cannot say enough about this hotel. After a long day on the road it was just the right place to lay our heads. The facility was clean and convenient to the freeway. The best part was the staff. My husband and I were traveling and had some bad luck with our vehicle. I called the hotel to see if they could suggest a ride service or another option and the owner said her husband would be over to help us! He came with all the equipment needed to get us going and to the hotel for the evening. They were both incredibly kind and went out of their way to make sure we were safe. In today's world, it's rare you see people who drop what they're doing to help strangers and I can't tell you how impressed, and grateful, I am for these two. If you're traveling through Baker City, I highly recommend this hotel. read more

I preface all my reviews with, I'm not a foodie, but we are talking hotels not food (COVID restrictions didn't allow for breakfast) means that's irrelevant. Besides, who can eat a whole hotel? On to the review. Boy this place needs some love. Our room's bathroom door was warped and the latch would not click without a push that required some strength. Our fridge had a shelf missing a rail, and a missing door of the freezer meant the little freezer was just a solid block of frost. Frostmaster, apropos name. Even with COVID restrictions the pool was open. It's seen better decades and the hot tub had missing jets. The vending machine ate my sons money and had an "out of order" sign that was laminated and apparently often used. On the good side was the service, which is what I am, a service snob. My son got his money back, there was a problem with door not accepting keys, and there was a couple being highly inappropriate in the hot tub, all resolved quickly. You might not be able to fix or replace a fridge, you may not have the money to put in new hot tub jets, but making right a $1.50 to a child is easy business which they did without question. My family and I stayed here for a couple nights in the beginning of January. I don't have any words to describe the friendly staff, clean rooms, and the amazing breakfast. The rooms are nice and spacious and aren't at all congested. We loved the hotel itself. The building, rooms, and construction are just beautiful. The Super 8 has a indoor pool which is always a plus since we like to go swimming. The water was clean and it had a good temperature. The beds were comfortable, shower hot, and the wheelchair accessible room was wonderful. The breakfast was amazing. It was your standard continental breakfast with a few twists here and there. All for a good and affordable price! We travel a lot and I know for sure that if we're ever in the area, we'll be staying at Super 8. read more

I highly do NOT recommend staying at the Super 8 Motel, Baker City, OR, 25 Campbell Street. The bed was comfortable, but no laundry facility that I could find, and a grab and go breakfast that people with diabetes shouldn't eat. Pretty pricy for wat it had to offer. I would not have commented on this motel at all, but the following changed my mind. At 9 PM, I went from the pool to my room. the room was hat because my air conditioner stopped working. I went to the on duty clerk and said that I needed his help. I a bit of a terse tone, he asked what he could do for me. When I told him about the AC, he said he had NO MAINTENENCE staff on duty (mind you, this is a Friday). So I asked for a fan. He has no fan. So I am angry and basically said that I couldn't believe a motel could offer such poor service. So he tells me he will give me my money back and that I can check out. RICHT- it is a weekend, I am on a motorcycle, it is late and I'm sure I'd have a terrible time finding somewhere else to go. And there is no elevator, and my buddy and I have a lot of gear from our rooms to repack. It's two flights of stairs to the main floor. Great. The following morning, the actual manager was still on duty and I explained to her what happened. She was very disappointed with the clerk's performance and told me the "no maintenance" statement was ridiculous as she has on call maintenance staff EVERY weekend. So the clerk lied to me, and that fact upsets me greatly. In shear desperation, I did unplug the unit for a few minutes, and plugged it back I Fortunately it reset, so I didn't have to sleep in a sauna. But like I said, I don't like liars. Stayed here last week after a long military bus ride got me to town well after midnight. The places I usually stay at were booked solid. Tried the Super 8 on a whim as I'd never stayed there before. I just needed someplace to sleep that wasn't the floor or a cot. The receptionist on duty was insistent I take a room with a jacuzzi and only charged me the regular room rate (about $80). I was in uniform and he explained it was the least he could do to say "thank you." The room was clean and quiet and the king sized bed was very comfortable. The jacuzzi tub was well worth going to bed a little later than I had planned. Over all pretty comparable to the Best Western and the Rodeway in terms of price and amenities. Plus I definitely appreciate the pro-military sentiment from the receptionist. read more

FIrst, when comparing reviews look at home old most of the good ones are. Apparently something here has changed. Issue number 1- We drove from over 7 hours and then when got here ( a full hour after the check in time) and our room was not ready. We were asked to come back in "about a half hour.". Unhappy with that answer I called Expedia who I booked through and they called the motel and told me they would me work it out. NO one saying they are sorry or anything. Issue 2: Then they tell me my room is ready-on the second floor. My traveling companion has physical limitations and so I asked where the elevator was. This motel was listed as assessible but has NO elevator. I said that wasnt acceptable. They had no response. So I called Expedia again. Expedia called the hotel, then called me back on told me the hotel would give me a ground floor room. So I walked into the motel again. NO one to be found. Finally the desk clerk comes back but only says "why are you calling Expedia?" So I again ask for a ground floor room as he has just told Expedia. Now he tells me there are no ground floor rooms open. So I call Expedia again. They try to find me a new place, but its Memorial Day weekend and they can't find a place anywhere near my budget. So I was stuck here and my friend was stuck struggling up and down the stairs for a weekend. Issue 3: So I thought I'd save the weekend swimming and in the hot tub, one of the main reasons i booked here. The pool is cold, maybe 65 degrees. No adults are swimming cause its too cold, so there is no getting to the hot tub because its always full. When we went to the front desk to complain there was again NO one at the desk. A woman came up to us and said she was the clerk's wife "but she didn't know where he was right now". We complained to her anyway and she said "the pool shouldnt be cold. its supposed to be like 82, I'll tell him." But today is the next day and its just as cold as it was before. So a full weekend with no swimming and likely no hot tub. maybe it has something to do with the new pool heater sitting by the front entry? So to sum it up there this place is NOT accessilbe for handicapped and the pool is unusable. Misc issues: We rented for two days. They only gave us keys set for one day. So we left and were unable to get back in. Again we had to go to the office and wait. Hotel is dirty, dated and hallways look worse than the rooms. There "Flat Screen TV" is about a "32 inch. So flat is accurate but big screen is not. With two queen sized beds in the room I feel like we are walking over each other. One good thing to say is that the continental breakfast was really good. I will not stay here again and Expedia has not heard the last from me. read more

The lady at the desk was super friendly and made it a breeze to have my dog in the room. There was a pool but I didn't swim it in. Appeared clean and was open until 10pm. The room didn't seem to be top notch but acceptable for the price. Attempted to turn on the heater in the room, because it was freezing when I opened the door, and no matter the temperature I would set it at it just kept pumping out heat. They had a waffle machine for breakfast so that immediately won me over! read more

I was in Baker on business. My room was modest but had everything I needed. It was clean, my bed was comfortable and I used the microwave, fridge, and coffee pot every day. The walls are thin and it was quite noisy one night. The pool looked inviting although I didn't have time to use it. Also did not partake of the free morning breakfast. My favorite part was the staff. Every single person I talked with was professional and friendly. It can be difficult to find that level of customer service these days. read more

This lady named Kathy Disgusts me. We had a family member die and not only was our room no I working condition after driving all the way from Idaho. We were lied to and treated bad and called liars and idiots. The tv wasn't working because the eye was broken, the wifi was not working and the room smelt horrible fo smoke. Kathy said this was not true and that is not true and that we must not have known how to work anything. Talk about horrible customer service this last takes the icing on the cake. not to mention it is nearly impossible to talk to her on the phone because you can't understand squat that she is saying. She better be ready to lose her job because I am friends with the person who really owns everything including her job which she will soon be losing guarunteed. read more

My buddy and I stayed here after a long day of riding our motorcycles from La Grande, OR up to Lewiston, ID and back to Baker City, OR. After 450+ miles and almost 10 hours on the bikes, we were ready to relax. The front staff was friendly and checked us in quickly, and allowed us to park our bikes under the canopy to be watched for the night. The room was clean and beds firm but comfortable. We had spent the previous night at the La Grande Super 8, and I thought this hotel was not as nice as it was, hence only 4 stars. The pool & spa were used to help us relax after our long day riding the beautiful scenic highways. I did find the pool a bit cloudy, and figured it could use a bit of chlorine to make it clearer. Continental breakfast was great and they had 2 waffle makers, no lines here! I would probably stay here again if in the area. read more

Stayed there with family 8/16/19 and checked out 8/18/19 Paid for 2 rooms and was charged for 3. As soon as I notice it which was the next day, they could not figure it out. I checked with them every day and got the same answer even from the manager/owner. Here it all most a month and still have not returned my money back. Also called Wyndham and got the same run around.
