I failed to realize it was a part of the Tribute Portfolio and it did not miss at all! I felt the hotel was very reasonably priced and located nearby many local shops. The property was easy to find and parking was very accessible. The moment I arrived and entered into the lobby the front desk greeted me and made me feel most welcomed! They provided me with all of the details about the hotel and expressed to give them a call if I needed anything at all. I made my way up to the room and the aesthetics leading to the room were absolutely amazing. The room itself was very spacious and charming. It featured a nice cushioned chair with a record player in each room with a variety of records to choose from in the lobby. The room was very clean and also smelled very fresh! The bathroom was very spacious and up to date! Within the hotel property there was a Southern Craft BBQ spot which I also left a review for; it was really good, so you should definitely check it out! The rooftop bar is a for sure vibe. I received a complimentary hummus at the rooftop with my stay; I'm not sure if that was promotional/seasonal or a bonus gift upon checking in. I'll start off with the big negative that may or may not influence your decision to stay here: The price! During Rhythm & Roots Festival, and Speedway Weekends, the hotel has a large demand for rooms. They can, and do, raise the rate. That said, the convenience to Rhythm & Roots is worth a lot. They also have a place you can park your car nearby and leave it there for the week. The first stage of the event is located one block away. The rest of the stages are easy walks. There are plenty of great dining establishments including the fabulous Blackbird Bakery for breakfast. The hotel has a restaurant but upon check in we ate there and decided not to return. This is explained in the review for that restaurant (Southern Craft BBQ). The room is amazingly quiet. They have this down pat. Perhaps it is the thick brick walls, hard to say how they managed this. I heard music from State Street through the closed window but after midnight, nothing. No cars, trucks, motorcycles, drunks, revelers, nothing. Inside, no sound from adjoining rooms, from the hallway, ever so slight. We turned off the AC and the room consistently stayed cool and even more quiet. There is a continuous fan running in the bathroom but I could barely hear it in the bedroom. I slept soundly in the comfortable bed. The pillows seem too fluffy at first but they do flatten out. There are no sounds of foot traffic from the room above. The shower is hot and reliable. There is no shower curtain or glass door to fuss with, it is well designed with the valve at the opposite end from the shower head. They brought us fresh towels and bottles of water every day. There was no plumbing or shower noise from the adjoining rooms. They do not offer a free breakfast but there is a filtered water machine as well as coffee in the lobby and in the room. The room also has an unusually quiet mini refrigerator. Security is very good, the elevator is quick and responsive, every one is helpful and no attitudes. There is a microwave in the lobby to reheat meals if needed.

I noticed there was human hair from other people in the front and back of my shower area. One was a long light brown hair in the front upper area of the shower stall. One was a short black hair on upper back of the shower wall. I was mortified that housekeeping didn't notice this immediately. It made me wonder if they cleaned the bathroom at all after the former guest before us left. Despite all the wonderful amenities, the unsanitary condition of our bathroom made me dock 2 stars from a 5 star rating. Both coffees were empty and no creamer. We had to ask for more coffee and then ask for creamer. The breakfast caused my wife to get sick, which caused us to make an additional stop to get meds. Some greats and some work to be done. Stay here on a budget but hope for the best on quality. How does the coffee run dry at 9:45am? People are still waking up still. I know that breakfast closes at 10:00am, but some set there alarms to eat something and get a coffee.

Normally I don't go near couches in these places), the bed was comfortable and the room temp just fine. They even have a decent (small) gym and a large lobby with plenty of seating and tables should you desire something from the cafe (limited hours of operation so make sure you get your caffeine before 10 am!)

Instead, I arrived at the hotel around 12:15 PM and was briefly stopped in the parking lot by another parent as we reflected on the season and said our goodbyes. I walked into the front desk at approximately 12:20 PM and explained the situation. The employee I spoke with seemed genuinely understanding. She asked for my room number and said she would speak with her manager while we gathered our belongings. A few minutes later, she informed me that the manager would not allow us to cancel the second night and that we would be charged the full $300 because I was 20 minutes past the requested noon deadline. I was stunned. There was absolutely no flexibility, empathy, or consideration for the circumstances. It is difficult for me to believe that a room became impossible to rebook because I arrived 20 minutes after noon. What was most disappointing was not the charge itself, but the complete lack of compassion. My family participates in travel sports year-round, and we frequently book hotel blocks for teams. Because of this experience, I will not stay at this property again, nor will I choose a Hilton property in the future. Hospitality should involve more than enforcing policies to the minute, it should also include understanding and empathy when people are dealing with real-life situations. This was a heartbreaking day for a group of young athletes, and the hotel's response only made it worse.

However, it is unlikely that we would choose to stay here for more than one night, the rooms were not "wowing", especially as compared to the grandeur of some of the public rooms.
