I booked with booking.com. I showed up to the hotel about 30 minutes later. They couldn't find my booking. I reached out to booking.com to find out what was going on but they weren't able to help. An hour after showing up the front desk clerk offered to let me check in by doing a walk-in rate. So now I've paid twice plus a $100 deposit. I get my son and dogs to the room around 9:30pm and find out the toilet doesn't work. I tell the front desk clerk who says he'll call maintenance, then walk out the front door. We get food and come back. Toilet still doesn't work. The next morning around 7am I take my dogs out and ask about the maintenance guy. Apparently he came by while we were out but never went in. Flash forward to 10am, there's still no maintenance man. I ask about a late check out so we can do the activity we were supposed to do the night before but couldn't due to the check-in issues. Mike argued with me about charging for the late check out. Finally I said Motel 6 could either give me free late check out or reimburse me for the $60 tickets. He chose to do a free late check out. It's now 10:40am and no maintenance man has shown up. We get back around 12:30 to check out. Four days later I called to ask about my deposit refund. The woman that answered the phone said it should have been done at check out, but that she was initiating it now. So Mike didn't initiate my deposit refund at check out, the woman did 4 days later. I called the next day to receive a full refund for my stay and was told by Mike to not call them again and he hung up on me. read more

My family visited this Motel 6 for a week. Of course this wouldn't have been my hotel of choice BUT........ It served it purpose. When first pulling up to the property the grounds was very clean and very well lit. Walking into the building it wasn't THAT BAD the staff greeded you as you approached the desk. Coming to the room the hallways was clean. The hotel seems a little old and the rooms was descent. But the only thing is that you would have to go down stairs for everything. There isn't a ice machine on each floor, there isn't a coffee maker in the rooms so therefore you would have to go downstairs to get watery coffee. They only have one iron for the WHOLE hotel. My disappointment for my room was that it smelled like some serious funky feet. We thought it was the old carpet BUT!!! it was the bed spread and also the carpet as well. But that bed spread had to go. But again it served it purpose. The housekeeping staff was awesome, and the front desk staff as well. But it was a okay stay. I would recommend this hotel if you have a function nearby. And need a descent and reasonable price night stay. read more

The room was clean upon checkin but was never cleaned during the stay. While I understand that this was a Motel 6, there are certain things you hope happen at all hotels. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and can tell you that this was hands-down the absolute noisiest. The hallways echo every sound. The laminate flooring in each of the rooms does not muffle any sound, either. Additionally, the doors slam shut with the sound of a Canon going off, anytime someone enters or leaves any room on the entire floor. One of the bigger inconveniences was that there was only one elevator for the entire hotel. As you can imagine with a three story hotel, it was always busy...and VERY SLOW. I was unable to find stairs as an alternative. Other random things 1) the WiFi isn't free and what you pay for is horrible. 2) the rooms are very cold because the window are old, cheap, and thin 3) the heaters are set up not to kick in unless you are two degrees from the temp you set and don't turn off at the proper temp either My advice? Spend the extra $15 a night more and go somewhere else. read more

If you are considering staying here PLEASE spend your hard earned money elsewhere!! My fiancé and I decided to stay here mainly because it was pet friendly and we were traveling with our cat. As far as "cleaning" it looks like they only change the sheets and towels but they were still stained. Stepped out of the shower and wiped up the water that got on the floor and the towel was black afterwards. It's an extra $35 fee for a microwave or mini fridge. The beds are the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept on and you only get one pillow. The "blanket" is a series of 3 sheet like layers. the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything going on in the hallways. After our second night there we found evidence of bed bugs after being bit and even caught it and brought it down to them along with the pictures of the bites on my arm. Was told that the manager just left to go to the bank and he would call when he got back, waited two hours for a call so we decided to call again and was told he was still at the bank. went through the reviews on here and this same situation has happened to multiple other people. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE YOU'RE GUARANTEED TO CATCH IF YOU STAY HERE!!! Ok, so the only reason I'm giving this place 1 star is so I can write this review. When we first checked in, the lobby was full of people who had just been outside smoking weed. First clue about this place being a craphole. Then, we got to our room only to find out that it was absolutely gross. It smelled musty and of old cigarettes. There were blood spots on the bathroom counter, as well as on the floor of the main room and on the desk. The sheets, blankets and bed covers were FULL of stains (see pictures). When we complained about it, the desk got a serious attitude, as if we were asking him to build a house by hand. After he changed our room, we ended up getting one of those adjoining rooms with a door to the next room. The next night, for several hours we heard loud noise (TV, talking) then smelled cigarette/weed coming from the door. We complained to the on duty desk clerk who couldn't have cared less about our complaint, but said she would look into it. She offered to switch our room, but since this is supposed to be a NON-SMOKING hotel, then one would assume they would just be told not to smoke or kicked out. However, she acted as if I was the problem because I was complaining. Then around 1:30am we heard LOUD sex noises coming from their room, which didn't stop for almost 3 hours. The next day during our checkout, we complained to the manager on duty, who swears the night clerk went up and checked for cigarette smoke, but of course she couldn't smell it from out in the hallway, and didn't bother to knock on our door to let us know. For the 3 nights we ended up staying here, we saw the majority of people who stayed here were pill-popping drugged-out transient "long-term" renters who were clearly high on something and essentially "lived" here. The most awesome part of our stay wasn't the porno we heard going on next door for several hours, but rather being on the top floor and being woken up at 7am to loud hammering and banging noises, because they were supposedly fixing damage to their roof. I watched these guys off and on for almost 2 hours before I checked out, and not once did I see anything even resembling repairs being done to the roof. All the workers were doing was replacing the shingles, that's not damage repairs, that's just normal wear and tear upkeep. If that's all don't lie to people just say so, and do it during the day, not the ass-crack of dawn when your guests are still sleeping. This place is absolutely disgusting, and had their pictures online not been so deceiving making it look like they had recently renovated the building, I would not have stayed here. PERIOD! read more

"SLAMMIN' MOTEL 6" -- My nickname for this place... Staff was nice. Our original room was facing the highway and we heard the whoosh of the passing cars, so the staff was helpful in that they moved us and were quick and accommodating. Our new room was okay, but THE DOORS ARE SO LOUD WHEN PEOPLE CLOSE THEM. They would make large BOOM sounds when people would close them, so imagine trying to sleep in the morning with that. WiFi was $2.99 per device for a day, so no free WiFi here... Also, we heard noise from the room above us and random sounds at night (which weren't amorous, thank God). I understand that the price of less than $50 per night (at least for us when we stayed) should be considered when writing a review, but when a person is awoken by slamming doors, that's a problem. I did my own test and let our room door shut "normally", and I was treated to another loud sound. Long story short, this hotel looks nice and modern, but it's just too noisy here in terms of the rooms and slamming doors, IMO. I wouldn't return here. read more

They are getting a low rating because I found out they were sold out from a freaking POST-IT NOTE taped to the window of the check-in desk. No clerk in sight. The lights turned off. The staff here are some of the friendliest and kindest that I have met!! The pricing is awesome! I would totally give a five star review if the beds were a little more comfy. I have absolutely slept in worse, but they are about as basic and cheap as a mattress can get. There is only a sheet and a blanket, no comforter. The pillows were nice and the room is sparkling clean. No frills rooms for sure! One little bar of soap, no travel sized soap or lotion. However, it's not like any other Motel 6 I've stayed at. From the awning over head as you double park, to the modern furniture and paint, this place is memorable. Now if you're looking for a place with condiments, food, and beverages this place isnt for you but if you wish most places put that money into nicer linens, new paint, and more than I definitely recommend this Motel 6. I had read reviews about this hotel and found the tvs updated & still found the wifi was NOT included (no biggie to me I have data, some guest not happy about it in the line) The room was very clean! Nice sheets, new tv, a little sitting area to get ready, & a super nice bathroom. Short commute to downtown st. Lewis about 15 minutes to the Scorttrade center. It's cheap, that's about all I can say for it. We stayed there 3 days and the same beer bottles and cigarettes were in the stairwell the entire stay. The rooms have no clocks. Shampoo is extra in a vending machine, our window was not sealed well and leaked a lot of humidity and heat into the room. I got a glass splinter from the floor of my room. Beds are clean and comfortable. Bathrooms are updated. Neighborhood isn't the most welcoming but felt safe in the room. Since we were just planning to go to bed, wake up, and leave the next morning, we figured we'd save some money and stay someplace cheap, with no frills. Big mistake! Yes, the room was $41. But it was filthy!!! There were ALL KINDS of unidentifiable stains and goop on the carpet, the bed frame, the walls... The bed was very uncomfortable. There was little to no water pressure in the sink. We had to brush our teeth in the tub. The room smelled bad. Do I need to continue? Bottom line is, pay the extra $20 and stay at a nice hotel! Probably one of the best places you could stay in St Louis area AND with a tight budget! It looks very safe, bright, and with a couple of food stores around. The staff is very friendly and helpful too. The room is fairly nice. I mean it is not perfect, but at least it is clean and it smells clean. The AC is a bit loud at night but doesn't bother me too much. I would recommend to stay here if you are visiting St Louis. It was under construction, which, of course, has to happen, BUT, absolutely nothing was said to us about this upon booking. We showed up at 2am after a very long day and construction started at 8am. Incredibly inconsiderate... The beds were pretty bad and the towels were small, thin and incredibly rough. This was the first of three Motel 6's we stayed at as we traveled from the east coast to the west coast with a dog and two cats. That was the whole reason we chose Motel 6, because animals stay free and there are no restrictions. Location was fine and there were a few fast food joints nearby. Our first room was infested with ants, the carpet had random wet spots, bedding had questionable stains and the room was just dirty overall. They moved us to two new rooms which seemed to have been updated within the past 10 years but still had ants. We just stuck with it because we were exhausted and didn't want to stress the animals. I know you get what you pay for but, I was expecting a little better out of a Motel 6. read more

From first glance this hotel seems like a great place, especially for your money. Upon further expection though I found bed bugs in the sheets. They worked well to try and accommodate us as the hotel only had one extra room available. However this room also has bed bugs and the sheets and mattress pads were disgusting. They were covered in food, stains, and hair. We ended up sleeping in our car that night since all hotels were booked because it was a better option than this hotel. Had stayed at this motel before, so when assigned room106, I knew that was in the dog wing. I asked for a different room and was told there were no dogs tonight. I guess it was a cat that woke us up barking. Also the room doors slam shut. So if anyone leave a room while you are sleeping, you wake up thinking there was an explosion. We went back to the front where they gave us new sheets to change the bed ourselves. I found that pretty unprofessional since we obviously didn't make the mess. Just Horrible i Saw a bunch of roaches & other bugs in the bathroom. I saw a little ant walk way and their were millions of them just crawling through a whole, then their wasn't anyone at the front desk for about 2 hours to help Me so i could get a new rooms and then when i wanted a new room they told me they were full on room which i just had to leave i couldn't put up with it anymore, So i highly discourage ANYONE to go to this horrible place & im very sorry i didnt think of taking pictures i didn't know about this yelp thing then. read more
