Not terrible, not great, just adequate. The front desk staff was friendly, greeted us promptly, and checked us in quickly. The room was clean and nicely furnished. The parking lot, lobby, and hallways were well maintained. It was a short drive into downtown Bellingham, and we weren't bothered by airplane noise. We didn't use the pool, hot tub, or gym. Parking was easy, and we felt safe during our stay. The blackout curtains were a nice touch and helped us get a good night's sleep. Overall, it met our needs for a short visit.

The location is great - close to everything in Friday Harbor but not on a street with as much traffic as some others. The customer service is great - just send them a text and you get a response in seconds. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room interior was good - everything looked clean with plenty of toiletries, cozy robes, and a heated bathroom floor. The bathroom in general was dated. We had a non operational jetted tub that had been converted into a duel faucet rain shower. It was rather weird, but it worked. I also really liked the keyless entry, so no worries about losing your key! Now, my one negative. Our room, and I'm assuming all rooms on this side of the building, abut a loading dock and parking lot for an adjacent grocery store. Every morning at 5am, a semi truck, fork lift, and workers unload the truck. In addition to back up safety alarms, truck engines idling, and workers talking, you also hear the constant rumbling of goods being unloaded. This goes on for HOURS.....starting at 5am. The hotel gives you ear plugs and notes that there is no noise ordinance on the island and notes that neighbors can be noisy and the hotel can't do anything about that. I get it...you can't control noisy patrons or neighbors, but the description given doesn't really convey what is actually going on with this side of the building. Constant, very loud noise and alarms for over two hours starting at 5am. All that said, I would stay here again, but I would make sure any room I book has views of the harbor, and not the back side of the hotel.

Our room was Fidalgo, we had a big soaker tub and kitchen area, I loved having two places to watch tv since sometimes one of you can sleep and the other is enjoying vacation insomnia time. ;) Out back, a walk through a parking lot takes you to King's Market which had everything. We did not find the hotel loud, but they offer earplugs just in case. The mattress was great, seriously- firn enough but with a soft topper or something, we both slept so well.

The Swedish massage, boy did I hit the jackpot with Nell! Her hands are just pure magic! She took special care and focus on each body part. Chrysalis is doing a special for May and June with 1/2 off lotions, so I upgraded to the CBD lotion for just $5 (regularly $10).

I literally could not believe how spotless this room was!! So if you are looking for an affordable option for a stay in Friday Harbor, do not hesitate to stay at the Orca Inn, I promise there is zero ick factor, trust me, I get creeped out pretty easily at most budget friendly hotels. Not Orca Inn, whoever their crew is that takes care of the Orca Inn deserve a medal and a raise!!

We have stayed in multiple hotels and private rentals and none come close to The Guest House Bellingham in location, price, comfort, etc. The location is close to the WWU campus, Fairhaven and Bellingham. It is a very short walk to Boulevard park which is a beautiful place to watch the sunset. The owner Sharon is thoughtful and helpful and keeps the rooms incredibly clean and nicely appointed. We slept very well with beautiful cool breezes blowing in. The only critique I have is the kitchen was not very well stocked. Normally when we rent a BnB it has basic spices, foil and plastic wrap are usually available. There was nothing to wrap Leftovers in. I know it's a small thing but a few extras like that would be nice in the kitchen. All in all it was a nice place to stay and everything was within walking distance, we would stay here again

We have stayed here a handful of times over the past 10 years and enjoyed the experience. This last visit was incredibly sub par. The room with water view, top floor unit we requested was not available as the owner decided to use it at the last minute. We were switched to a different unit that had multiple problems. There was black mold in the shower, swarms of ants in the bathroom, blood stains on the sheets, cracked areas on the microwave, stains on the carpet, a dishwasher that came out from under the counter when opening the door, bathroom fan that sounds like a jet engine, and a fire alarm that shrieks if you forget to close the bedroom door when taking a shower. The innkeepers (hotel staff) led us to believe that the owners of this suite number 203 were aware of the problems but hadn't gotten around to fixing anything and hopefully they'd take care of things during the off season. The staff said the rooms are serviced after 4 nights (we were there for 5 nights). We did request fresh towels for each day and were assured that would not be a problem, however it didn't happen. On the 4th day when I took a shower, there was no hot water. The black mold in the shower was grossing me out. Then I tried drying off with a damp towel (even though we hung them up the damp weather did not allow towels to dry from one day to the next) and I had ants all over my feet from the dead and live ones on the floor. Becky the housekeeping manager was very helpful and inspected the ant infested area (even after using traps they'd given us) and discovered holes between the baseboard and floor that she caulked and fixed the problem. Becky wanted to resolve our problems and did what she could to help. She was the one person that actively helped the situation and conveyed her concern for the issues. We felt the innkeepers were already aware of the issues but did not feel like they could remedy them, never came to the room to check on anything, and indicated we should accept the room as is. And although they did offer to let us out of our commitment for 5 nights, we could not find other accommodations in Eastsound and did not want to cancel our entire vacation. We are very sad that this property that once made us so happy has fallen so far. We will not stay there again as it seems that the management cannot require owners to properly maintain their units and we'd have no idea if the unit we'd be getting would be in good shape.

Super kind and helpful with directions and everything else. Arrived and found our key, drove up to our room. Up a windy road and there are several buildings belonging to this same hotel. We were lucky enough to end up on the very top building on the top set of rooms. Great view! Our room had 2 queen beds, was nicely decorated, gigantic bathroom that had 2 sinks, clean room, and a balcony with a small table and 2 chairs overlooking the water. One complaint, the shower head had little pressure because it was so high up for us little folk.... by the time the water reached me it was like taking a shower in the rain... this seems to be common among hotels though... Other amenities include ice/soda machine in our little building and in the marina there is a pool, shuffleboard, tetherball, volleyball net, etc. Price is EXTREMELY reasonable considering what you get, they had a midweek deal that we snapped up and it ended up being some of the cheapest private accommodations available anywhere on Orcas at the time!
