We arrived Friday night and could not find any parking in the small garage, so we ended up parking in the street. When we told the team member at the front desk this, he gave me other places of where to park and said that street parking would be fine as long as we moved our car by 11am the next day. I didn't feel completely comfortable parking on the street, but fortunately, the car was still there when we woke up. And thus soon after, all my suspicions about Hotel Leo faded away. This hotel was fantastic! Besides the small garage which obviously fills up quickly for hotel guests, we have no complaints. First off, the hotel staff could not be friendlier. Although we did not have the best first impression with the lack of parking, it had nothing to do with the staff or actual lodging. We were warmly welcomed and were told all the important deets of our stay. At the hotel lobby is free Caffe Vita coffee and Smith tea for guests, along with filtered water. Heck yeah! They also have this really good coffee and tea in the hotel room, which was a win because we're a fan of both of these products from the Pacific Northwest! We had a room with a king size bed and it was very large and spacious. When booking, we also specifically looked for a dog-friendly hotel in the area, which Hotel Leo is. So yes, an automatic win. We saw a bunch of doggy guests here, and they have a designated dog relief area with poop bags. We had everything we needed, including AC and WiFi. The location cannot be beat as we were walking distance to everything being in downtown Bellingham, and it made for a great base for when we hiked around the area. I also love the historic building, and they show the old photos of the hotel when it first opened in the lobby. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Leo if you're in need of accommodations in Bellingham.

They could perhaps do a little more for a more upper-end feel, but then prices would start rising and charm would start to drop. If I ever have a need/desire to stay in Bellingham again, if I'm on a budget or just want to be walking distance from everything in the downtown core, this hotel will definitely be my first thought. It is also very close to Richmond in Canada where we love to go for good Cantonese food. This last trip was the second time we managed to book a presidential suite with a private hot tub in the balcony. The unit is a bit dated, but spacious and comfortable. It's also very good to know that they send service personnel to check the hot tub every other day. The resort also has clamming equipment that can be borrowed. We got a lot of huge cockles and horse clams on the beach in the Birch Bay State Park which is about a mile away. We always have a great time at this resort.

This is the closest WorldMark to the U.S. Canada Border in Blaine, which is about 6.5 miles drive from the resort. We arrived around 1:00a, check-in was fast and we were given our key cards and parking pass. As all of WorldMark by Wyndham resorts the unit was clean with a fully-equipped kitchen including a microwave, refrigerator, and stovetop along with a separate living area. We had a studio unit (only one available at time of booking) and our room was on the 5th floor. As always during our trips we never get to enjoy the hotel amenities (pool, recreation area, etc) since we always start our day out early and arrive back late. Can't waste any adventure time while on vacation. For our last evening we walked across the street to Bay Breeze Restaurant & Bar. Upscale toiletries and fixtures, the smoothest sheets I've ever slept on, complimentary snack basket in your room. In addition the downtown is charming and immaculate. Flowers overflowing from hanging baskets and decorative pots, Avenue Bread right off the hotel lobby (IYKYK) and cute locally owned shops. Put this inn on your bucket list!

You can also get a free pass for a yoga class! The yoga studio is two stores down and seems so fun. I would have scheduled a massage here as it was super reasonably priced for 60 or 90 minutes, but the last booking was nabbed by the time I made up my mind. Also, free bike check out if you happen to be here during nicer weather. Too cold for us. In the room you'll find quality bath amenities, free snacks and drinks, coffee maker, water kettle, teas, and a decent sized fridge. The bathroom had ample towels and nice shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers (simple human). There was a hair dryer (not the best) and a lighted makeup mirror. If you've forgotten something (toothbrush/paste, razor, etc) they have some convenient supplies at their front desk per the in-room info folder. The only thing you'll want to note is that our sink/mirror was outside of the shower/bathroom if that matters to you or your roomate. Very clean and appreciate that pets are not allowed here. We asked for the Prime Buffet manager and some woman came over and said they didn't know where the manager was but they couldn't issue a refund, that there was some kind of 'internal marketing issue.' We insisted on speaking to her supervisor, and she sent over the casino shift manager, who also said he didn't know where the manager was. Told us we should have said something when we paid and that since we had already eaten some CRAB (2 out of the six of us) there was nothing he could do. Of course, showing him the website photo and a picture of the sign outside did nothing. He was incredibly rude, told us we should just stop eating and leave and he would issue a $35 credit on one person's club card, nobody else's. Of course, we had come in just for the shrimp special, had driven all that way and were not about to leave without eating, especially since it wasn't even a full refund of the $13.00 price difference. And the worst part? The card holder went to cash out when we left, and she was told there was ZERO on her card - so he lied to us. I sent an email to the Casino via their website on the following Monday morning, and here it is two days later and they haven't even bothered to reply. The roast pork and the chicken were dry, and the only decent thing there were the desserts. NEVER GOING BACK.

The king-sized bed was comfortable, and we had a room with a soaking tub and a giant shower. The pull-out couch was "ok" according to my son. One thing I will say that was missing was a common area indoors for people to meet up and socialize outside of the restaurant. We have traveled often with these families, and we like to find areas to play cards and spend time together. The food at the restaurant was good. We had a poor experience with one of the rooftop bartenders. He looked like he had been there a long time and really had no interest in answering questions or engaging with the town. His younger companion bartender was friendly and welcoming. Advice: In the evening, it cools down tremendously on the rooftop, so you will need blankets even though there are a couple of fireplaces for ambiance.
