I just got done spending almost a week in an Econo Lodge that was $50 more a night than this place. And let me tell you this Motel 6 is nothing to write home about. But it is clean, is convenient and will not break your bank account! Plus it wasn't all sold out. I traveled over 700 miles today and really was on the fence about staying another night or just pushing through to get home. All things considered, this was a great decision. If you can go without all the extras and just need a safe place to spend the night Motel 6 in Lexington VA is really worth the stop! read more

Do not stay here!!!! People who run it are thieves. Forgot a few items in dresser. Claiming there are no dressers in the rooms and I must have lost my clothes elsewhere. So I would assume the cleaning people stole my things. Beds are far from anything you would want to sleep on. Heat doesn't work properly. read more

Came to this motel during a vacation: it was unclear how to check in but the phone ringed and you had to answer it, the host came after a while and 2 adults 2 children came to the cost of $87 with tax included. Be aware that they served coffee at 7am to 11am. We walked in and scanned our card into our room and the smell was odd: kind of like chemicals. The room was clean and the bed was perfectly organized. There was a bathroom and there was a fridge inside of it. The shower was weird because hot - cold and cold - hot. The shower floor was scratched but overall a decent place to stay if you need a average cost place to stay at. They do not serve food. read more

It was a really nice stay. Staff was very nice and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. It was very quiet (with the exception of our neighbor who was hammering). There were plenty of outlets for all of our electronics. The hot water came on right away! Free WiFi. No breakfast but there are plenty of breakfast places nearby. Also, it is right off the interstate! There is one vending machine in the lobby area. The only bizarre thing was the refrigerator and microwave in the bathroom with the bottle opener by the toilet. However, it looked like the place had been renovated and they were looking for a place to put them. They may want a better choice. At least the fridge and microwave were away from the toilet and shower. read more

Arrived well before check in time, the Owner went out of his way to have the cleaning staff prepare our room next and told us it would be ready in 30 minutes...and it was!!! The room appeared recently remodeled, was clean, had a very modern appearance to it, and gave me no cause to have any concerns. My favorite part of the room was the modern tile flooring, easy to clean and not stained like carpets can get. We had a non-smoking room and there was no hint of smoking in the room or nearby. I know Motel 6 often gets a "get what you pay for rating", but this particular Motel 6 is an exception. The only changes I would offer are to spruce up the exterior and look into adding a Continental Breakfast. read more

Saul is very good at it ... told me my price was higher because they were so full and out of the at least 40 some-odd rooms they have they have a whole 12 vehicles in the parking lot but that's what I was told the reason for the price increase was because they were so so busy. read more

First room we were given smelled like an ash tray, they made no effort at all to make the place smell fresh at all. Asked for another room, the incredibly rude woman at the desk refused and said there was no other rooms available, despite the parking lot being empty. So I called the company I booked through, and the rude clerk was nasty to them as well. At this point I elevated my issue to the booking company's management and the hotel manager came out and offered us a clean-ish room (which according to the nasty clerk wasn't available) Won't ever be returning to this location, and our likelihood of ever staying at any Motel 6 location is now 0. 2 stars for the manager helping us, but only because he was pushed into it by the booking company. The conditions of the first room we were given would preclude me from recommending this place to anyone. read more

Because I have always had dogs, I've spent a lot of nights at this chain. Not all were pleasant experiences. However, this place is a truly exceptional Motel 6. The rooms were large, clean, and well appointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We look forward to staying here when we commute to Tennessee several times a year. I travel with dogs and often find myself in substandard rooms. This Motel 6 has spacious rooms that are clean and comfortable. Bathroom had great water pressure and plenty of towels. Best of all the large mown grassy area did not have one speck of trash. Most people had taken advantage of the provided poop bags and the area was nearly clear of dog droppings. The parking lot was a bit crumbly and rough, but that was my only negative observation. read more

We were greeted by a lovely young woman, we got the rate on the billboard from I81. The room was SUPER CLEAN, very nice layout. SUPER SOFT BEDS, free wifi and cable TV with a mini fridge hair dryer and microwave. Oh and HARDWOOD FLOORS! The outside of this place is deceiving. It looks like a dump from the outside but just like people and books you can't judge the inside by looks of the outside. If in the area again, I will definitely return to this place! I stayed on 8/23/15 whomever the night girl was on, needs a raise. She had a horrible customer curse her out for a minor detail that dos not have anything to do with the quality of the room and she kept her composure and still gave amazing service to me (I was next in line) and she also gave amazing service with a smile to the lady that was cursing her out. read more

I was absolutely surprised. A great room for an overnight. Clean with wood floors which is a switch from the usually dirty and stained rugs. It looked like an Ikea guy renovated the room. My only issues were the heat wasn't on when we got there and the water pressure was not good in the shower. I'm 100% disabled veteran and requested a ground floor and they gladly accommodated with a room right next to the front of the motel. So maybe motel 6 is getting it right. I'll stay again. read more

This motel is clean (barely) and safe (barely) and is good for a night's sleep and nothing else. I paid for a "modern king" room on Hotels.com and the room is anything but. Maybe the bathroom counter is new? Regardless, the shirtless men drinking beer in the corridors and the lack of truth in advertising translates to the fact that you should look elsewhere. read more

Stayed one night as we were not expecting to much for the price paid ($70). Was surprised when we got into our room. It was clean and the bathroom was bigger than expected. Beds were comfy and no springs in my back which made for a good sleep. Great value for what you get. Desk guy was friendly and most of all it had a mini fridge and microwave that looked clean. After staying at many Motel 6's across the nation, this one is by far my favorite and the only one I've given 5-stars. The lobby was clean and presentable, the desk personnel were nice, the room was spacious, clean and remodeled. The water pressure was very comfortable after a long day on the road. The beds were the most comfortable out of all the Motel 6's I've stayed. My dog stayed for free and there was plenty of room to take him for a walk. The AC was cold and kept the room comfortable! The bed sheets were comfortable! The coffee in the morning was delicious. Truly my most favorite Motel 6 of all the ones I've stayed in. If I ever drive back that direction, I will surely choose this Motel 6! read more

Close and convenient for a pit stop on our way to Asheville. It's on the same strip as all the other motels, and this was the best for the money. Rooms were clean and simple, serving the purpose. 5 minutes from downtown Lexington, definitely would recommend for a quick place to stay, and its pet friendly! We checked in to the first room and it smelled awful and had long blonde hairs full of dust all over the floor. We asked to be moved and the nasty manager sent us to another room. This room had a huge stain on the bed sheet and a greasy fingerprint on the headboard. When we complained the manager came to the room. He raised his voice and denied it was a stain. He said it was bleach. I gave never seen a " bleach " stain like this. His attitude was very unsettling and I didn't wasn't to stay here at this point. He wouldn't give us a refund even though we never used the room and we only were leaving because 2 rooms were dirty. We tried to explain this to him but he said that because even if he returned my money to me I would still write a bad review. I left and am trying to fight it with my credit card company. read more

Very clean and updated rooms. The view was nice too of the mountains. Very close to where we were going for the day (safari park) great bang for your buck. Motels usually turn people away, at least it does me, but we were on a tight budget and motel 6 definitely came through for the win. Friendly staff as well. read more

By the time I get a motel while traveling , I only require simple things. A clean bed , a hot shower, well temperature controlled room, and prefer quiet setting. I found all these things in this room as we were traveling to see our kids in Va. We were traveling with our dog this trip so the pet friendly offer topped this sweet deal! It was a very clean room, a powerful, hot shower, comfortable and quiet. This motel went way beyond my expectations for the economical price! 5 Star room for sure. The hotel is everything you need!! Clean!! Super front desk and very warm and welcoming even at 230am. They even offered a late check out due to my arrival time. Stayed here during a horse show. I was expecting to walk in to a "truckers" hotel. The room was actually really clean for the price. Yeah it is out dated but clean which was most important. I normally don't sleep well in hotel's but the neda were so comfortable I slept like a baby! Recommend before the others, especially for a safe place to crash and shower. read more

For a definite budget hotel, it was surprisingly nice. From the outside, the hotel looks a little rough but the inside of the room was much nicer. Larger than expected room, pretty comfortable bed, and very easy access to the interstate. The wifi was free but pretty slow and connection kept dropping, free coffee but no food in the am, and staff was professional. Overall we would stay again but if we had more money to spend we would probably look to step up a tier. read more

Would not recommend this place to anyone in their right mind. The toilet in my room was plugged when I arrived, and they gave us a plunger. It worked for a while, but eventually, the toilet plugged again, and I complained to the front desk while paying for another night. They kicked me out. I used no profanity, just calmly said "We just still have a little problem with the toilet." They kicked me out! Are you kidding me?! Not to mention there is an infestation of box elder bugs, they get 24 channels, and channel 12 has constant buzzing. If I could it would be 0/5. (Smashed peep-hole as well) Nothing good about this place, folks. Pretty pricey, too. $75 a night is not very good for a place that is not even in downtown Lexington. read more

Stayed here for the VMI graduation weekend 2015. Very clean. I found out from the owner Anil Patel that they remodeled it recently. He got creative and used the extra space in the large bathroom for a refrigerator and microwave. He was very pleasant and went out of his way to help me with a challenge I had. It is very close (although not walking) to the University and downtown. I gave this 4 stars as a rating for economy hotels. I would have given it 5 if there were some nice outdoor gardens - but wasn't necessary for my stay. read more

My girlfriends and I decided to go on a girls trip for the weekend. We stayed at another hotel on Friday night which was the worst experience I've ever had. On Saturday morning we got up from the hotel we were staying, packed the car as fast as we could. We still had our pajamas on and searched for another hotel. We came across Motel 6 which really didn't look that appealing from the outside but we figured what the heck, we could take a look at what they had. When we entered the hotel the front desk clerk was very nice but told us that they would not have anything until after 2 o'clock. My friend and I asked her if we could see one of the units before we decided to pay for a room and the owner of the hotel came out of the back room and was very accommodating. We told him our horror story of the other hotel. He had the front desk make sure housekeeping had everything completed and gave us the key and moved us right in. The room was clean & comfortable. And to top it all off, they had great coffee in the lobby. We definitely will be coming to stay at the Motel 6 in Lexington when we take another girls trip. read more
