I would highly recommend The Georges. With complimentary parking, breakfast for two, and great location, you really can't beat it. We felt very safe here. We were greeted in a professional and kind manner each time we went to the front desk. When you check in they will inform you about the breakfast sheets that are to be filled out and turned back in the night before. Our room did not have a refrigerator, but upon request we were able to get one brought to the room. The showers were clean and great water pressure. Bonus point for heated floor, towel heater, and a bathtub that made doing a face mask even more fun! read more

Ok, boutique inns can be hit or miss, this place knocked it out of the park!! Absolutely fantastic rooms, friendly and honest staff, and impeccably clean (even in the hard to reach areas). When we stopped at the front desk registering for our room, I asked if there was entertainment scheduled for the night. She said that we had missed it and there was an entertainer there the previous evening. She called our room a few hours later and said she was mistaken and told us about the evening entertainment which we enjoyed for the night. The atmosphere was very relaxing with a huge walk-in shower and pedestal tub and heated floors. Honestly with the number of dehydration chambers I've stayed in, this one did not have me waking up in the night gasping for water, both of us slept clean through. The night prior you have to fill out what you would like for breakfast the following morning, but this was a great experience, as I didn't have to make any decisions for the morning, just enjoy a fantastically prepared meal. When in Lexington again, we'll be staying here for sure. read more

My wife and I were returning home from Smith Mountain Lake and had an extra day that we decided to spend in Lexington. We chose the Georges for its amenities and convenient location. Arriving on a Saturday around 4pm we found plenty of convenient parking directly behind the hotel in their lot. Check in was quick and painless and we were promptly shown up to our room number twelve on the top floor. With the exception of room six, I think all rooms have outside doors and most of those face the back lot. It looked like room seven had an awkward entrance though on the front side of the hotel off the main sidewalk. Our room was awesome. It was tastefully decorated with a large soft bed, outside balcony with seating for two and a high tech classy bathroom. We had two chairs and table in the corner near the fireplace to sip our drinks while it was too hot on the east facing balcony. The balcony was covered and offered views up and down Main St. The bathroom offered a huge walk-in shower, heated towel rack and heated floor. From the hotel, we had a pleasant walk to Stonewall Jackson's final resting place after dinner. We could have also easily walked to VMI had we not stopped there on our way into town. In the morning, we cut through an alley off the parking lot to get to SJ's house in under a minute. We left our car in the lot for our entire visit as every place we wanted to go was nearby. Overall we had a great night's rest and enjoyed our stay at the Georges. read more

This is a great hotel, the rooms are great, it feels like I'm in a 5 star hotel, beds are comfortable, showers have the best water pressure. I also love the heated floors and the LED mirrors. Another thing I love is how spacious the room is and it is the perfect temperature when you walk in. My last favorite thing about this hotel is how good the food is, I had the chicken with pasta and creamy sauce it was the best. Then we had some warm chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Very disappointed, I took my boyfriend away for his birthday and this was such an anticlimax. After paying a small fortune, our room was on the street (literally) very noisy and so bright from the street lights it was like sleeping in the center of the sun. The gowns were dirty and the floor was sticky to the touch. They were definitely short staffed and service was slow, while the ladies at the front desk were so lovely, they had no idea about anything to do in the area. Coffee at the front reception ran out by 8am and was not replaced, we had to ask for water with dinner three times. We recently stayed at a Hilton and paid half the price and the service and attention to detail was far better. Save your money here. read more

First class hotel with reasonable pricing. Stayed in room 11 a big room king bed, walk in shower, very comfortable. On a Friday night we stayed in room 7, that is smaller but has a little balcony overlooking the street. No problems in either rooms. All the rooms have heated bath floors, heated towel rack, and are terrifically comfortable. read more

The Georges is a small, elegant, beautifully done hotel in the heart of Lexington. It is conveniently located on Main Street next to shops, restaurants, and bars. My husband and I decided to stay here the night we got married! The staff were extremely helpful (we didn't arrive to the hotel until about 10pm and a key was waiting for us under the mat) and friendly. The inside of the hotel looks like it is out of a magazine. The floors are heated, the towel rack is heated, and there's a shower that could probably fit about 15 people in it. My husband and I were also met with a personal note congratulating us on our wedding with two bottles of champagne. This was an awesome added touch! Check out is at noon (this is very nice) and they offer a complimentary breakfast from 7-10am. The hotel is pricey, but you get what you pay for. I am very happy with my stay here. I will definitely be back in my future travels to Lexington! read more

We have a retail shop just across the street from this beautiful historic hotel and we have dozens of The George's guest who shop in our store weekly and universally when I ask them about their stay at The Georges they reply with comments like "Amazing" and "wonderful" they LOVE IT! Unlike a chain hotel, staying at this historic inn in the heart of Lovely Lexington Virginia is a true experience and one that will create a happy memory that will last for years. I've been in this hotel and their great tavern/restaurant "Taps" many times and every experience has been superlative. I couldn't recommend them higher! read more

My wife and came down to Lexington from Northern Va for our anniversary. From the moment we set foot onto the property everyone was amazing. The service, the food and drinks were all amazing. We hiked to the natural bridge for a lovely day trip and stopped at Devils Backbone Brewery where the views and food we perfect. Haywood's and the Red Hen were amazing dining experiences. An outstanding hotel. The Georges impressed my wife and I in every aspect of our stay. Service was excellent, the suite was beautifully laid out and tastefully decorated, breakfast was tasty. Each and every need of the guests was anticipated. To cap it off, the morning we left it was snowing. This is a very nice boutique hotel and we enjoyed our stay. Under different circumstances, I might give it five stars. The staff was polite and responsive--while we were there. When I received an email copy of the bill (which I was not offered a chance to review at checkout!), I discovered at least one charge from the Taps bar that was definitely not ours and several other questionable charges. I immediately replied to the email but got no response. I went to their website, found a different email and sent a second message but got no response. I found a third email in the small print, sent a third message but got no response. I called the hotel but the young lady who answered the phone could not reach anyone who could help. She promised a call as soon as possible from somebody who could fix it. As you might have guessed by now, the call never came. Short of making the drive back to Lexington from Northern Virginia, I seem to be stuck with a nearly $100 charge for a meal we did not eat. Given this abysmal level of post-stay customer care and service, I would not recommend staying there. read more

Each room is thoughtfully planned, beautifully decorated, and personal touches like fresh-baked cookies at check-in and little notes left around the room to make you feel extra special set this place apart from any hotel I've ever stayed at.
