Very disappointed that this place is masquerading as a radison inn when it's really an unkempt motel. The first room I was placed in was clean enough (I hadn't checked the beds but from what I could see) but smelled very badly of cigarettes. The man working behind the front desk was very accommodating and put me in a different room. However, that room was really, very gross. There was hair in the shower, burn stains on the curtains and the comforter of one bed, there were old blood stains on the sheets of one bed and what looked like urine stains on the sheets of the second bed. Why are these sheets being PUT onto the bed??? Lastly, there were ants on the wall. I recognize this is a more budget place to stay but I was really surprised by all of this. When traveling with a dog, we appreciate Motel 6 locations so much as an affordable and comfortable option for our family to stay. We use them when we bring our dog along almost exclusively and sometimes when we don't. Because (1) we are staying at an extremely dog friendly motel and (2) it's usually very affordable, we can overlook things such as this particular room's cracked sink, tub in desperate need of refinishing, outdated air conditioning, spots/stains on the walls, and exterior's not so polished look; HOWEVER, for $179 a night (double what we've ever paid at a Motel 6), what can't be overlooked is closing the bathroom door to find a mound of someone else's hair hiding behind it or turning on the water only for another person's body hair to come flowing out from under the shower mat on the bottom. There's next to no furniture to polish, only vinyl floors to "swiffer", no refrigerator to wipe down, no dresser drawers to check for contents, no hair dryer to sanitize because of Covid, no toiletries to replace and two beds on which need to have minimal bedding replaced- cutting down significantly on what there is to accomplish to clean the rooms compared to other motels/hotels- so cleaning the bathroom seems like it would be top priority. Before complaining or reviewing this location, I read the reviews and it seems this may be just the way this location operates. It's a shame that they may be spoiling the whole Motel 6 reputation for first time guests who haven't experienced the way they are typically run. read more

Let me first say that this place is not a motel 6 they are no longer affiliated with motel 6 corporation although they are still using the name. I can only assume they did not pass the quality assurance standards to continue using the motel 6 name. The general manager is the most vile unprofessional person I have ever encountered. Rude and screaming at me over the phone when trying to book rooms for employees. The rohnert park or local quality inn are much better options. read more

From March 23-25 2023 My husband and I have a long history with this motel. In 2020 my husband and I stayed here at the beginning of the pandemic and we found out we were pregnant after having a threatened miscarriage. Fast forward three years later with our to children ages 2 years and 4 1/2 month old I'm completely disgusted. This place has turned into a worse trapping motel. Loud people coming in all night, dirty rooms the curtains had stains on them that looked like bodily fluids such as blood. The countertops obviously weren't cleaned properly (extremely sticky). Couldn't give my kids a bath because under the mat in the bathtub was absolutely filthy and the water temperature was either freezing cold or scolding hot with no happy medium so it wasn't safe to bath them. Our bedsheets were stained with nasty stuff. I called the front desk to get the Wi-Fi access code and I couldn't hear him over my daughter screaming in the background, so me and my daughter walk to the front desk and I explained that I just called to have him say "I thought that was a dude". I'm a female so I got pretty offended. This hotel has turned to straight garbage. To top it all off we were put in a room that connected to another room which was uncomfortable. I don't recommend this hotel for families at all. Spent over $350 for four nights. The only "amenities" this room had was a mini fridge. No microwave, no shampoo or body wash, no hair dryer...literally nothing. I recommend going to a better hotel that has more amenities and feels safer. read more

Every Thursday, they blow all their trash and dirt into the adjacent property, they don't pick it up and bag it, they blow it into our parking lot. I hand-wash my car every week, and after these jokers come through my car is covered in dirt. I would like to sue these guys but it just isn't worth it.​ read more

Three stars is generous. Mattress was placed on platform with no method of restraint. So when you try to sit up in bed the mattress wants to slide out from under you. Very dated, and someone tried to enter my room with a key card after I checked in...not cool. Good thing I had the security bolt fastened. Was evacuated due to glass fire and this was the only place I could get for my family. My mother was almost shot from someone in the room next door to hers. They shot through the wall of her room 1 of the went through her head board while she was asleep and was less than 3 inches from hitting her in the head. 6 other shots were luckily stopped by the head board. He also shot 2 more rounds through his door, 1 went through the door of another room and into the wall. The other shot went across the motel into the second floor balcony. Manager seemed to not care. On top of this the rooms were extremely dirty, I refused to walk barefoot in them because of the sanitation. My socks were extremely black because of the sanitation. I imagine with covid-19 going on they would step there game up. read more

Clean, cheap, dog friendly, and Lagunitas adjacent! The other tenants might leave something to be desired, but the grounds were clean, the rooms clean, dog poop bag dispensers abound...all in all a great crash pad if you have dogs. Two heavy duty ice machines to fill coolers with, as well. Blocks from a few breweries and a distillery. read more

This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The stairs have visible wood rot that is so bad I wasn't sure if the steps would hold me. The water from the sink is either scalding hot or ice cold, there is no warm. The shower starts as warm and then the water starts fluctuating from scalding hot to cold. Careful with your children they could easily get burns from the water. Besides those issues the staff is rude. No shampoo is put in the rooms only a small bar of soap. The towels are like sandpaper and the pillows are just pathetic. You have to walk to the front desk for anything. Including ice. Walls are paper thin and the overall hotel grounds are in disrepair. read more

This place is vile. Do not waste your hard-earned money on this scummy hotel. I've stayed before and it was decent but in the last year it has gone downhill big time. Never fancy but typically clean and for sure budget hotel. I'm pretty sure now this is where local druggies stay and $169 for a Saturday night is beyond shameful. The ceiling in our room leaked for two nights - when I alerted the young gal at front desk she assured me that manager Reena Prasad would call me and I made her REPEAT my cell phone number back to me just to make sure I got the call - fast forward and I track Reena down and she says yes I called the room 2x. I had to correct her that it was my cell # she was to call. Then she only wanted to refund me $50 and have us move rooms as we were walking out the door to a wedding. She tried to tell me that we needed to move rooms ASAP as the hotel could be sold out for Saturday night - what a laugh. I could go on and on and even upload pics of the ceiling leaking - but honestly, this place is so gross you can find another hotel nearby for similar price. Staff friendly but the room was FREEZING my guest night. Even with the heater on. The window draft was cold and the window was closed. It felt like the window was open. The walls were soooo thin I could hear everything. The bathroom wasn't clean. I had to "disinfect" it. Yuck. The second night, the heater finally worked. But there was a truck that was so loud outside our room (104) around midnight it was annoying. And cats in rooms next to us. And I'm severely allergic. All in all, even for a Motel 6, due to the pricing, our room should have been better. We were NOT satisfied and I have been wanting to review this place. read more

A place to crash We rolled up around 3am and just needed a quick place to pick. Everywhere was booked because of something happening around town. This was the only place to with reservations. WE WONDER WHY... The floor looked filthy. There was a sock near our bed. The shower did not have a large enough shower curtain so water leaked all over the floor. There was no blow dryer, iron, shampoo and conditioner, cable nor free wi-fi. They really have nothing. It was just a place to crash if you must. The upside of this place was that they allowed our pooch to stay for the night and their late check out was 12:30pm. For our 1 night, the total was almost $70. Very not worth it. Left and got a room at the Hampton in Windsor. read more

It's a Motel 6, people. Don't come in and expect the Ritz Carlton. I use Motel 6's all the time for quick overnight stays because they're usually easy to find, allow pets for free, and have cheap wifi for under $3. The only downside was that I got here earlier than I expected, and we couldn't get into a room until after 3:00 pm. I had gotten up very early that day and driven for hours - I just wanted to get into the room, crank up the air conditioning and take a quick nap. I've stayed in dozens of Motel 6's over the years and that was a first. Oh well - I grabbed a book, sat out by the pool, and relaxed. THIS IS A WARNING TO ANYONE THINKING OF STAYING AT THE MOTEL 6 IN PETALUMA We have friends that come to visit yearly for a big bash and only have room for 5 guests. The overflow stay at motels/hotels in Petaluma or nearby Rohnert Park. Here are 3 horror stories of friends who stayed at the Motel 6 in Petaluma,10/19-10/21/18. Cathy and Denise (Dallas, TX) - Found their room on the ground floor to be "filthy.' At 4:15 AM, the first night, people above them started scurrying around and showering. When Cathy made the reservation, she asked if the motel was quiet and was told, "Hey, it's a Motel 6." They decided to spend the extra $60 for their second night's stay at the nearby Quality Inn which lived up to its name. Ross and Charmaine (Saskatchewan, Canada) were horrified by the "disgusting," "filthy mess." THEY SPENT 20 MINUTES CLEANING THE BATHROOM! Charmaine Insisted that they BUY A NEW BATHMAT as she didn't want her bare feet to touch the grungy one that they had originally. (Last year, Ross came stag and stayed there. He said the bedsheets looked like they were not changed from the previous guest. He thought it was just a fluke, so he made reservations there this year because of price and convenience. He vowed never again!) This one is from last year: Erica and Doris (Seattle, WA). When they checked in, they found there were no sheets on the bed. They called the desk and they come round with bedsheets and HANDED THEM TO THEM SO THEY HAD TO MAKE THEIR OWN BEDS. (Later Doris wrote a note and slipped it under the bedcovers, saying something to the effect, "Dear Fellow Traveler, if you find this note, that means your bedsheets were not changed. WORST MOTEL 6 EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Someone else had a key to my room and entered while i was asleep! This establishment is NOT safe! I also received wake up calls at 2am and 8am both days I was there that i didn't ask for and housekeeping never cleaned my room. Needed to be in Penngrove and Motel 6 came up as Doggy Friendly. At $145.00/night for a double a LITTLE overpriced for what you get. And what do you get? A clean room, with lots of shelves and a functional TV. Good location a block from Lagunitas Tap Room! Easy Freeway access to downtown Petaluma. (But trust me, take the back road..the freeway is always slow) What you don't get is: In-room coffee. This requires a hike to the front office. Or a 2 block hike to Starbuck's. Yucky WiFi ..ughhhh 2 small improvements that would make a big difference. However what you also get is the continuity of the Motel 6 Chain so not a bad selection. read more

I am only giving this one star because at least one star is required. We recently stayed here for six nights. The major drug bust in the next room over was the LEAST of our problems. They gave us a half a roll of toilet paper, we had to bus our own towels, empty our own garbage, make our own beds, the room was not cleaned or entered by any housekeeping staff for the entire six days we were there. The front office staff continually turned off our key cards so that we had to keep going up and getting them re-set, the "non-smoking" room smelled like an ashtray, we found the front office staff to be very unhelpful and indifferent , we bought our own toilet paper and soap because of lack of those provisions and the toilet smelled like a septic tank. The mattresses are thin and they use a top sheet as a bedspread. It was well over $600 for six nights and we did all the work! A complete rip off end horribly managed. So far I have had to change rooms 2 times do to no air conditioners that work and I finally gave up and am still with no air conditioning now I have a refrigerator in my room that doesn't work and have been informed that no fidges work in the whole motel no microwave for almost $200 I expect more there is mold in the bathroom the vending machines are crazy priced $1.75 for a very small bag of chips my car was vandelized my trailer was stole and I fell down the broken stairs and when I said something I was given a room upstairs with a broken ankle where upon I was trapped for 2 weeks before I could get to hospital for ankle I was offered no compansation no help because it is against motel policy there are at least 15 flys in my room a gisnt spider on my pillow I only gave 1 star because you have to otherwise I would put it in the negative this is th he seventh gate of HELL no joke do yourself a favor dont come here avoid this place as like the plague sleep in your car or in a box you'll be happier. Pros: This is probably one of the better Motel 6's out there. Rooms were clean enough, better than the last Motel I stayed in which painted the bottoms of my feet black. I appreciated the IKEA style decor. Simple, yet functional. I guess I was surprised as I hadn't checked in into a Motel 6 in ages, but have traveled extensively in comparable spaces in Europe. Service was professional, and the water of the swimming pool was kept sparkling clean for a nice, refreshing lap around the pool. Beds were folded, towels changed. Overall, warm, friendly welcoming staff. Cons: Some noise just during the day of TV blasting from some other guests nearby with their door wide open. Ended up with a bug bite of some sort, so you be the judge. read more

I've called this place back multiple times since my incident with not having rooms ready (even with a reservation) and later asking for a refund. The manager has never gotten back to me despite my multiple attempts. This manager is conveniently never there. The frustrating part is that I've even reached out to their corporate office and I haven't heard from anyone..is this even a real establishment? I just want my money back since I had to check in late because you had no rooms ready which then caused me to be late to my event. I don't even care what they'd have to say to defend themselves because there isn't even a solid reason for them to rip me off ($190 for one night). I don't think I've ever been this frustrated with a company and their lack of caring about the customers. If I ever have to come back to Petaluma for some godforsaken reason, I'm sleeping in my car. read more

This experience is worth reading..... For $110 a room I didn't expect anything fancy but I did rent out a room for 2 nights. I enter the room at 5pm and leave my belongings looking for a "do not disturb" sign be aware, they don't have those anymore.... I click on the Air Conditioner and leave. I arrive home after dinner and drinks at 2am. I open the door and WHOOSH.... AN 85 DEGREE HOT BOX hits me in the face. I rush in and look at the thermostat "cool" "max" "on" all the right things in place so I call the front desk. Robert had great customer service but unfortunately there were no more rooms in the hotel and another guest had also been dealing with a water heater issue. At this point I wait till the AM to speak with management. 10am I speak with the GM and he offers me a refund. I paid cash and they are "out" of cash in the front so I'm instructed to come back for my refund. 1pm they STILL don't have money in the till and now I'm just waiting to get my money back??? This was a CRAZY experience and I pray no one has to deal with the problems I just left. Good luck. read more

After a long difficult day of driving we got a room. It was reasonable and we were so tired all we wanted to do was go to bed. We drove around to the room. Grabbed our bags and entered our key into toe lock. As the door opened 2 large dogs charged me and the man in the bed looked at us with a shocked look which was totally understandable. I was in such shock and in fear of the dogs I squealed and closed the door. My husband went back to the office so angry. The clerk just said sorry we're under new management and the room numbers got screwed up. Thankfully I got the door closed before the dogs got to me or the poor man shot me. This was unexcusable. The room was reasonably clean except for the pictures which I couldn't tell if they were bugs or mouse turds and the substandard bathroom. Edit: Well after the awful experience it keeps getting worse. We only got about 5 hours sleep. The bed was like sleeping on the floor, it was cold and they had no blankets on the bed (I was to tired to go to the office and ask for one). The dogs nextdoor started barking at 6am and the people above us sounded like they were jumping on a pogo stick. Never again. read more

I honestly don't know why this place has such bad reviews. I'm giving them an extra star because it seems like they've really been thrown under the bus and my experience there last weekend didn't reflect any of the negativity mentioned here. We made a reservation for last Saturday night, just one night, for 2 of us. Came out to 80 total with tax. NOT BAD for a place to crash in wine country! The nearest price bracket for an available room started at $200 Reasons why I thought they deserve some redemption: 1) Edgar, upon checking in, was more than nice and attentive and quick, he also later made change for me so I could do some laundry, no gripes 2) the Room, while obviously the bare minimum, was clean and had towels, beds and tv - totally legit 3) they allow pets for no extra charge, and while I didn't have my little baby with me, it's nice to know he would have been welcome 4) they have a laundry room! i needed one, and got one. Very clean, has soap and everything in a vending machine just like a laundrymat. Great. 5) they offer Showtime, and Discovery channel. Yay Shark week! 6) they are walking distance from Namaste Kitchen which was delicious If you bring your own shampoo and realistic expectations, you'll be fine, and so will your wallet. Motel 6 is the McDs of motels. Never fantastic, never amazing....but also, consistent, adequate, quiet and comfortable. Sometimes noisy, but even that is rare in my experience. Generally, as a place to sleep, they are just fine. This is the worst Motel 6 I have ever seen. The shower faucet leaked pure hot water continuously. We are not talking about a little drip, I mean a steady stream, like a garden hose. It was enough heat to make the bathroom feel like a sauna. Of course, the antique A/C system picked up the steaming hot air (the air inlet is directly above the bathrom door...stink and steam fill the whole room, yay!) and tried to cool it...failing miserably, of course...so my whole room was 85ish degrees, sweaty, pure nasty-wet. I shut the bathroom door and tried to sleep. I woke from the noise of the drip, the heat from the hot water making me sweat miserably on a nice cool evening. I had been told "there are no other rooms available, sorry" so I did my best to just deal with it. When I opened the bathroom door in the AM, it was just like opening a sauna. I wish I were exaggerating...I am not. It was no less than 100 degrees and the mirror was steamed. The waste alone appalled me, not to mention the discomfort. The staff was very nice, very friendly, but when I spoke of the leak, they first question was "did you try to shut it off? (duh, you freaking idiot, of course I tried!) and when I told them that this had been the worst night of sleep in the 3 weeks I had been on the road, their comment was "so sorry, hope you come back again"... Zero chance. The place was filthy, the price ($80 for this? Gimme a $40 fleabag any day) clearly higher than it should be...and a miserably, noisy, dripping HOT room (well above outside temps, easily 85+ in the room at midnight, 65 outside) and not even an offer of a "comp'd" room, just apologies and "have a nice day". If I am ever in Petaluma again, I will sleep on a buddies couch or in the back of my car rather than this overpriced dump. If I have to cough up $80 to sleep and shower and another $4 to have internet (free at Safeway, Starbucks, taco shops, hair salons and Xfinity...but $4 EXTRA here) it should give me an "excellent" signal and 15Mbps, not 1.2Mbps and "poor", I expect at least to have a comfortable room and bed. This is a miserable excuse for a Motel6. As shown by several other reviewers, this particular M6 is just pathetic, period. If you decide to stay here, check your particular room out first.
