First mistake I made was reserving a smoking room. My boyfriend smokes and I was worried that it would be too hot to go outside to smoke, so I figured I would get a smoking room for him. Of course he told me, it doesn't matter, he would never smoke in a hotel room, if I was there due to my asthma, very sweet, but damn! Well of course the room smelled heavy like an ashtray, wish they would have Febreezed that room. 2nd mistake was ignoring the bad reviews We noticed the pillows were so small, they must have been made for children, and they offered no support. There were cigarette burns and little black stains on the blanket, the sheet had a stain on it, the hand towels had make- up stains on them, the bottom of the bathroom door was messed up, and the paint was off it, the wall next to the bathroom door had a stain on it. The door was hard to close as well. The shower was pretty cool looking but if you decide to turn the water cooler, it causes the nice spray to lose its pressure. The pool had a padlock on it, so not sure if I was supposed to find someone to open it, but I would have figured it would had been left unlocked, as it was not supposed to be closed. The bed was horrible, both sides were definitely worn in, as they were sunken and the middle was not, so it kind of gave the feeling that we were going to roll off the bed. We stayed here with a group of vintage car enthusiasts. The staff was very accommodating and responsive to requests, even arranging a taco truck for the group. The amenities were basic (no breakfast offered or in-room coffee maker) but there's a fridge and microwave and a Starbucks right across the parking lot. Everything was clean and in good condition. The bed was comfortable and the front desk had no problem providing me with an extra pillow pretty late at night. Overall a great value for the price level. read more

The managers were very welcoming and kind, the newly remodeled room seemed a little spartan, but that is understandable, given the way some people are stealing things now. It was not a problem though, just an observation. The room, linens, bathroom; all were just very clean and neat, and we enjoyed a good rest. I am surprised to see some negative reviews on here, as our stay was very relaxing. We were three on a Friday night, and while I was surprised at the minimalist decor, it didn't affect the quality of our stay at all. The managers were very nice, and the room (linens, bathroom, floor) were spotless. If you want a nice, simple place to stay the night, this is for you. If you need a lot of extras, then you might want to look at a more expensive hotel. There is a pool, which looked very clean, but we didn't use it that day. read more

Here's my experience & please read since this was a terrible nightmare of a night so if you choose here please be safe: I got a room around 11pm after driving for 10 hours & just wanted a place to sleep. I got there & the first room I went into I immediately saw a cockroach on the floor. I asked for another room & when I got the second room it seemed alright. By the time I had gone to bed there was another cockroach right at the foot of my bed tucked into the sheets I went to the front desk & had just asked for a refund since this was my second room with the same problems & exhausted from driving I was just going to go to another hotel to sleep. The front desk did not apologize ONCE or offer any help & said they would not give me a refund. I begged them since I said I was traveling for 10 hours & just needed to go to another hotel. They were EXTREMELY RUDE. The man at the front desk refused to give me his name since he knew he would have gotten in trouble with his manager so the man who worked from 11pm-1am on 9/7/2023 should absolutely be held accountable. He made me feel incredibly unsafe. Not only did he not give me a refund he demanded to check in the room for the bugs. He steps in the room & looks at me & goes "lights" even though he was standing directly next to them but made me turn them on. Then I said please shut the door since I'm traveling with my cat. He continued to not listen to me & stand in the doorway as I kept repeating to not let my cat out so eventually I just went & closed the door myself & secured my cat for him to check. I ended up just leaving & never got the refund. I still haven't gotten the refund even after calling for it the next morning so please give it to me since this was a nightmare. I ended up feeling safer driving to the next rest stop & sleeping in my moving truck than in that motel with that man. I'm a my6 member as well & have mostly enjoyed my stays with Motel 6 & I'm not one to complain it's just that this man made me pay $88 to sleep in my moving truck with my cat instead of the motel. This is hands down the most disgusting room I have ever seen. I actually had to make them give me clean sheets, and that was a struggle. The comforter has holes in it, and so did the sheets. There was hair in the beds. There were tons of bugs in the light fixtures and flies in the room. The ONLY reason we stayed was because of the fires there were no other rooms available. We slept on top of the new sheets and left after a few hours. The only good thing was that the ac worked. Also the fire detector was ripped off the wall. read more

Subpar but clean for most refurbished Motel 6's in the region. Small rooms, water damage on the floors, mold along the base of the shower, and hazardous placement of the cable equipment. Price listed on the sign was nearly $20 cheaper than they offered the room for after taxes. Why? "The sign is broken". So, do you honor your advertised price? "NO". Ok, this is a bare bones kind of motel. No extras included like a in room coffee maker or toiletries beyond just soap. Our room did have a mini fridge and micro wave oven. My only problem is the room although clean in appearance had an overwhelming smell of disinfectant (perhaps Fabuloso). The smell was so strong it burned my eyes and throat and gave me a headache. I would suggest the managers use a less stinky cleanser. I would have demanded a refund and then moved to the Comfort Inn next door but it was late and I was too tired to deal with it. Many people have sensitivity to harsh cleansers with strong perfumed scents. The odor if the room reminded me of a taqueria bathroom. I would suggest the managers switch to a less stinky disinfectant even a one part bleach to four parts water solution would be better, or vinegar similarly diluted in water. Oh and 4 pillows on the bed I stead of just two would accommodate all types of sleepers more comfortably. read more

My husband and I recently checked into the Motel6 location at 20 Williams Ave, Red Bluff, CA 96080.  We often stay at Motel 6 locations when we travel, because the chain is dog-friendly. However, we had never before been to the Red Bluff location. I had made a reservation earlier that day on the Motel 6 website for around $79.99/night. Pretty expensive, but it was a holiday. We arrived late at night. From the moment I walked up to the check-in window, the experience was bad.  The front desk employee - I don't know her name because she wasn't wearing a name tag - was rather gruff and seemed irritated that I was there.  To reiterate, I had booked the room through the Motel6 website, at a rate of around $79.99/night. However, the digital marquee that night advertised the rate at $49.99/night. More on that in a moment. The first room we entered (I don't remember the room #, but it was on the second floor) was a bit worn.  When I used the sink, the water would not drain because the sink stopper was stuck in the down position, and the lever that raises/lowers it (located on the back of the faucet) was missing. I couldn't even pry the stopper up to let the water drain.  Because of this, my husband went back to the front desk to request another room. The same female employee helped him and he said she seemed rather annoyed that he requested another room. While he was in the lobby, a man came in and wanted a room. The employee quoted the man approximately $79.99/night. The man mentioned that the marquee outside was advertising the rate at $49.99/night. The employee then snapped at him about how the rate was higher than the advertised rate because it was a holiday. Isn't that false advertising?  We switched rooms, and the second room was awful.  I think it was room # 231 but I am not sure. The flip-style security latch/bracket on the door was missing a piece, rendering it totally useless. Furthermore, the television had sound but no picture on any of the channels. There were several patch jobs on the walls. The towel holder was mounted very crooked on the bathroom wall. It was *terrible*. The owner / management must have absolutely zero pride in their business. Therefore, we packed our things up AGAIN, checked out, got a refund, and went to another motel who charged the same rate as Motel 6 but was 100 times better. read more

Met w crowd of creepy dudes as we pulled in. Very little parking as result. Thought nothing of it until I saw the hooker comment in another review.. Stepped in dog crap packing in and such a sign of things to come. Shoddy fixtures in minimalist no tub shower. The wifi is a joke. Can't do anything on my phone w it. AC works but sounds like a walk in refrigerator. Unforgivable part is cockroaches in the walls. They were small to medium sized so you know there's an infestation. Traveling north, like the rest of southern californians I decided to stay at Motel 6 do to the reviews and the photos. The room was certainly upgraded however the door jam was completely off its hinges which made there be a security issue. The room itself had several palm and fingerprints on the headboards and there was hair found in the shower. But all in all it did it's job I was emailed and ask to review the hotel by their corporate. On the way back traveling south I made reservations to stay at the same hotel near the freeway. As I was traveling into town I received a call from a lady I believe to be the manager over housekeeping. She asked me ask there was issues with the room because I gave a bad review to her on the website. I repeated the review to her and my findings. Her response was atrocious. She asked why did I write such a bad reviews and turn around and book a room at the hotel again and if I would like to cancel the reservation. Feeling I did not need to explain anything to her I asked her is there a problem with my reservation. She repeated I just wanted to know if you're going to have a problem you can cancel now. Then followed up and said because I don't want you to come back if you're going to have a bad experience then cancel on us. I asked her again is there a problem with my reservation? She then changed her tone and began to apologize for the room not being up to par and took it and her power to offer me a 10% discount on my second stay. I then hung up the phone with her and an hour later I received a form email from the manager. I replied back and requested that he called me so that I can discuss the conversation I had with his head housekeeping staff. Of course I never received a phone call. Here's what I don't need 10% off my room after traveling for hours. I just need to clean room I will gladly pay the amount the room costs it's an even exchange. read more

Driving up to the hotel there were two Red Bluff police cars in the parking lot. Never a good sign, but tired and wanting to sleep, parked the car. Getting out I'm immediately greeted by a tweaker (meth head). He tells me how he shot someone but the police won't arrest him because they don't want to make record on him. That he is not crazy. I respond that I believe him and I don't believe he is crazy. All I want is to go to sleep. Walking to the office I noticed that some of the cars were missing there passenger or driver side windows. They were being covered with a plastic garbage bag and duck tape. Walking into the office I'm treated with a bullet proof window and a slide vent. The clerk slides me a piece of paper to put my information on. At this point I'm thinking that staying here maybe a bad idea. I walked out to be greeted by the meth head looking into the cars Windows. Normally this would bother me but with miles to drive and it being winter I really didn't want to deal with the possibility of a blown out window so I decided to try a different hotel down the road. read more

I had a Pretty bad experience here! I checked in late at 10:30, and told the front desk guy that we have a little kid with us, but he gave us a room with no refrigerator. Called him, he said: " you didn't request one"!! He said he will call us in a minute to give us another room with a fridge. He never called. U eventually went to the front desk and requested another room. After5-10 minutes they gave us another room. Rooms are not that clean! They all smell smoke!! Even though they say rooms are non-smoking!! You can see bugs in the rooms!!!! That was horrible!!! No bathtub, no coffee maker, horrible wi-fi Microwave, fridge upon request, and a tv in the rooms. The AC works very good! I do not recommend this motel! Never again motel 6! read more

It's a NO star (if I could) for this Motel 6... I'm usually a big fan of the chain but this location is a disappointment after the next... The toilets are plugged, the paint coming off the wall and although we checked in at 2:30am (a well deserved pause in a long road trip) they wouldn't grant us a late check out and had to pay a full night in order to stay passed their 11am check out ( we left at 2pm). Disgusting doesn't even begin to cover it....BUGS in the room, IN THE BED, and when I called the office to tell them about it, not only was I not offered a different room, but the front office person told me over the phone.....well, I think I might have some bug spray if you want to come to the office....WOW. So then, 2 doors down, we see the hookers being propositioned by a bum on a bike, and when we go to load the car to leave, the next door neighbors are ever so kindly burning incense outside our door to mask the pot smell from the pipes they were smoking with their door standing wide open.....AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS UNLESS CORPORATE STEPS IN!!! read more

Visiting family, so only needed a bed and shower. Arrived at 10:30 pm to another guest's car alarm blaring for over 20 minutes. Went downstairs to get license plate number and owner came out of room. I spoke to him about alarm and he responded that he was trying to figure out how to turn it off. 30 minutes later there is shouting between this same man and other motel guests. Second night some woman is pounding on door next to me in the middle of the night screaming, "Open the door you f***ing b***h." Sigh.... Room itself wasn't bad. Clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and friendly. If not for the noise, I would probably stay here again. read more

So I must tell you I was apprehensive about staying here. We only needed a place to lay our heads for a few hours. So glad we chose this place after reading the reviews for the other motel/hotels in town. This Motel 6 was clean and comfortable. I was so happy with the faux wood floors! So much better than carpet. The contemporary decor was surprising and it really worked there. The toilet didn't flush well. You needed to hold down the handle. The AC didn't stay running all night. You had to restart in the middle of the night. Those are my only complaints. The stay over all was comfortable and I would do it again for one night. read more

Room 121, a non-smoking room, reeked of smoke, so we asked to be moved. We were moved to room 105, where my boyfriend was bitten by bed bugs, which we're now combating fiercely in our home. The staff was nice, but bed bugs and smoke get a one star rating. read more

I actually had an amazing time here. My husband and I had just got scammed and were very down on our luck when we came to stay at the Motel 6 on Williams. My mother had made a reservation online and they couldn't retrieve it so they ended up comping a night and discounting the second night to $50.43. Fransico and DaVena are the most helpful and kind employees I've ever seen at a Motel 6. My husband and I do a lot of traveling and motel 6 is usually our place to stay. As far as I'm concerned, this is THE best Motel 6 we have been to and we appreciate the generousity. read more

My family and I stayed here for 4 days and right off the bat we noticed the toilet handle was broken and we had to keep reassembling it throughout our stay just to make the toilet flush. Aside from that, I had no complaints, and oddly enough neither did they, but when we left for 2 days and came back to stay another 2, the desk clerk informed us that we were on the "Do not rent" list and she could not tell us why. If I could rate this place a half star, I would. The lady at the desk was wonderful- but the room was the opposite! Its very outdated and the beds are horrible. Id rather sleep on the floor. Last Thursday I stayed at the Motel 6 in Red Bluff, California with my Mom on my way home from a funeral. It was unexpected, last minute travel plans that included an 18 hour drive there & back and they weren't enjoyable. We booked online and I was actually looking forward to see the new renovations I'd seen you advertised on T.V.. Yes, you're a no-frills motel and honestly I don't expect much when I arrive but a clean bathroom & bed to sleep in. So, the new changes looked fun and modern - more like the boutique hotels I love in Portland. I had purposely requested a 1st floor room when I booked. I'm disabled and my mom's in her 70's. But, when we arrived the girl gave the last first floor room to the gentleman in front of us who had just walked in off the street and clearly didn't need special consideration. I wasn't happy, but I lugged both our suitcases up the stairs (no elevator) to our room at nearly midnight, after countless hours of driving, and just wanted to sleep. The room was cute. I liked the modern changes you made. The colors were great and my Mom got a kick out of the shower. But, as we began to get in bed she found blood stains on her sheets. Seriously??? Blood??? Not my beloved Motel 6! I was seriously disgusted, but too tired to ask for new sheets, so we just ripped the offending one off. Then, it was the pillows. Have you ever tried to wash a pillow and dry it in the dryer? The insides get all balled up & lumpy and basicly it becomes useless. Well, apparently the management of that particular Motel 6 didn't seem to think so because thats exactly the type of pillows we received. They were so mishappen and lumpy that we decided to sleep without pillows. The final straw? My mom found a silverfish in her bed!!! And when I went to kill it we found several more covering the wall beside it. I was ready to pack my bags and leave, but the large "no refunds" sign in the lobby suddenly came to the forefront of my mind with dread. No wonder they had posted that sign so prominantly. I felt trapped. We even debated sleeping in the car. We figured we only needed a few hours of sleep, so we slept together in the bed without the bugs and left as soon as possible a few hours later. I have sang your praises for years, Motel 6, but after this I am sadened to say I will be singing them no more. This was quite possibly the worst motel experience I've ever had and after just loosing a close family member, I sincerely don't appreciate it. So I grab my flashlight and shine the microwave and I saw at least 20 tiny antennas popping out of the crevices of the microwave door. I SHINED IT ON ONE OF THE HEADBOARD AND THERE WAS A MEDIUM ROACH SITTING RIGHT ON TOP!!!!!! I WAS SO HORRIFIED I went back to the lobby, with my bag and told Carl I could not stay there, he offered another room but I could not risk bringing roaches home. Luckily carl voided our stay. It happened at 1230am. As soon as we open the door there was a big coach welcoming us. We then killed it and thought it was an exception, however, there were more coaches in the restroom. We then went back to ask for another room. The lady told us there were no 2 bedroom so we asked for a roach spray and changed it to a 1 bed room, which is the only one left.
