This review is based on a two night stay in room 132 for $220. This rate might be higher than usual due to all the hotels being full. AND there is an additional charge of $10 per night to be on the bottom floor. The WiFi showed a full signal but wouldn't connect. I had to disable WiFi on my phone and use my Sprint signal which was weak but worked for what little I needed. In the $85 per night price range I'd rate this room 4 STARS. Room was very CLEAN and CONVENIENT. THERE ARE LOTS OF PLACES TO SPREAD THINGS OUT. There were absolutely no odors/aromas of anything which is always a plus. TUB/Shower is outdated but clean. Good hot water and pressure. The cabinet under the sink is so old and ugly it's actually MORE FUNNY than problematic. But because of the cabinet I looked more closely at other things. The bathroom door is ugly AND it sticks! There are many things that are old and dated but with all the other hotels full and the HAMPTON Inn charging $155 per night...we felt Grateful to have this room at all. The manager is excellent. Very nice and friendly and helpful. He brought us an extra chair for company. Good small microwave & refrigerator in the room with a freezer we could refreeze things in. Breakfast consisted of a Grab N Go bag. See my picture! Pretty funny. I generally enjoy budget MOM & POP hotels and choose them over these big chains. They often have a homespun charm about them that makes up for things being just plain old. This place has no homespun charm and I don't consider it a budget priced room at $110 per night...but it HAS been kept clean and the beds are comfortable and the heat works! The TV is Spectrum Cable. The first room we were given was on the sunny side of the building. It was sweltering inside. We plugged in the refrigerator which hummed loudly, bc the compressor was acting up. The A/C unit was putting out tepid air at best. There was no way that would ever cool the room and the windows cannot be opened. We asked to exchange a room and asked about a lower room, but the guy there said that would be $20 more and was unable to accommodate that. Instead we were given a new room that was 100% better. So I came up to Red Bluff, Because they are actually having a gay pride. I thought it be in Porten to support it since growing up here was hard in 1986 and being gay. I didn't realize it was going to be 104 degrees when I decided to come up here. My check in time is at 2 PM. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and said I can use the pool until my room is ready. I was really happy I booked this place because a lot of state they have a pool on bookings, But unfortunately the pools are not open yet. I do believe at June is the start of summer. read more

This is by far the worst place ive ever stayed. motel 6 would have been a better option instead of staying here. first thing we noticed when walking in was there was crumbs or what looked like possible bed bugs feces all over the sheets. there were more than one strand of human hair on our pillow cases, the skirt of the bed was absolutely filthy, side table had white stuff and black soot, there were spider webs along with spiders at the top of the drapes, floors were not mopped, our keys to the room didnt work at all and everytime we needed to get in we had to call them to come open the door, and there was such a bad strong odor that just seemed to linger. when i took pictures of all these things and brought them to the managers attention he refused to give me a refund and said it was because i had already been here for one hour. i told him that i had just gotten into the room ten min prior because i was on a phone call sitting in my car and then i had to wait for someone to come open the door. even after stating that he refused to give a refund. with my hands being tied i told him i would be calling the police but waiting on the pd was a whole separate story of its own. so it looks like we are stuck in this disgusting room, so hopefully my review helps anybody else not make the same mistake we made in coming to this nightmare of a hotel. trust me, you don't wanna be sitting on the bed feeling itchy for no reason like I do. if I could leave less than a one star review, trust me I would definitely do that and it would fall into a negative star review cuz there is nothing positive about this place. read more

Pros: location is beautiful, river view and set down away from main road for quieter stays. Layout also very nice. Beds and room were comfortable. Cons: WIFI needs to be reset about every hour, and is not very good. Bathroom has been wiped down, but needs a deep cleaning, can see soap scum build-up, and dirt in crevices. Neutral: The free continental breakfast was a grab & go bag containing a small apple, bottle of water, small pastry, and a granola bar. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. We started off good by having a friendly receptionist and getting checked in. However, when I walked into "my" room I quickly realized it was not mine and instead another persons. My toddler ran into the room before I could grab him only to find someone smoking out of a bong on the bed and a completely nude person on the toilet.... I quickly went to the office and complained and they tried to say it was the fault of a new employee, which was a lie. Without even looking up my name or a new room they knew what room I was supposed to be in. I was not given compensation and felt violated. I cannot say enough BAD things about this place. 1. I was charged over 1.5 weeks prior to my reservation without my knowledge (the confirmation email stated I wouldn't be charged until check-in) resulting in my checking account getting over-drafted. 2. When I called regarding the above, they threatened to cancel my room if I did not pay for the room ASAP. At that point I requested to speak to a manager however there wasn't one available but I was assured they would call me later... never got a call. 3. I was charged TWICE. Again, never got a call and I even called again to request a manager. Apparently they don't have because one wasn't available. It took almost an hour on the phone to get a refund for the extra charge. 4. The day after my stay I noticed an additional $50 charge on my account for no reason. I will never stay here again and I will be sure to warn others as well. read more

Amazed this place was given 4 stars... they must be used to sleeping in shacks. The bed was stiff, the sheets are rough, and the smell of the place reminded me of a wet dog. The fridge and microwave are a nice touch, but neither worked, nor did the ice machine... It was in the low 50s the night we checked in, the room was the same temp. The wall mounted AC unit smelled like it was burning plastic when I tried to use it to heat up the room. I choose to freeze over being gassed. Next time I'm passing through Red Hills, I'll just keep going. To the Yelpers that gave this heap 4 stars, you failed. read more

where do I start made an advance reservation for 3 days NOT knowing how bad this was -- motel refused to cancel the last day said call 800 number because reservation made with Wyndham Corp. they said it up to motel owner. Room was disgusting. poor repair job. , bare wood splinters AND tile goiter in at angle so BUGS can crawl from top and bottom of tile into room. Coffee maker in room but no coffee or cups (was told it didn't say there would be coffee?!). Ice machine looks to have been broken for MONTHS! If you care for your family, do not stay here. Obviously the room was not cleaned thoroughly...if at all...prior to us. It also had smokers right outside our slider, so we could not even open it up. No smoking should mean not within 20 feet of any window or door. As you can see in the pictures, this was more than just an oversight of one item in the refrigerator. Plus, the refrigerator had to be plugged in (instructions to turn on power strip) so it is not kept cool in between customers. After a long drive you want to be able to use it without having to wait for it to cool. Save time and grief and stay somewhere else. read more

This "non smoking" room reeked of cigarettes, had mysterious stains on the bedding, the fridge was not working, and the "security" doors did little to quell my fears stoked by the myriad of mysterious creaks and snaps throughout the night. Management and staff are super helpful and nice. I respect those who respect my dollars. Rooms could use a bit more attention to detail in the cleaning department but they'll do for the price. Showers and bathrooms can sometime have the previous tenants hair and more on the toilet or showers. The maid doesn't.clean the showers well and that's a problem. A hotel should have strict sanitation before renting the room. Please management....stay on top of this because ratings and business drops when sanitation is in question. read more

I had a terrible nights sleep at this hotel. The beds sunk in the middle. The shower curtain was so dirty and even wet up to 12" high. My socks stuck to the carpet between the beds. It's nasty sticky. People live in the hotel in the rear. And feral cats. My rate was 100.00. Management was closed at 9:30 on a Saturday morning. read more

This is my favorite place to stay every year I have to work in Red Bluff for a week at Jackson Elementary. The staff is super friendly, and front desk already know me from previews years. Its very peaceful Spot and friendly. Denny's is a walking range from the rooms and you have a great view out to the river. read more

This place does not deserve any stars, first we made reservations a month in advance, we asked for a lower level unit due to the fact one of the people staying had bad knees and and is elderly and has a hard time with stairs they said no problem, when we showed up they gave us a upstairs room, no elevator, this was unacceptable but they more or less told us to bad., we had two rooms and we wanted them together, they were not, when charging us for the rooms 2 of us were paying but there was a difference in price so some how she totaly screwed up the payments charged the wrong people the wrong amounts, the person that did this did not know what she was doing, we did not know this until we checked our accounts, when we called customer service they were rude and more or less totally told us to bad they claim this is how we told them to do, they were wrong, there were 3 witnesses. When we got to the room there was mold around the shower and front door, it was a dump and very dirty. read more

WARNING! DO NOT STAY HERE! My husband is a firefighter and had limited hotel options while he was in town working on a fire. When he checked in, the room was filthy! There were rings left from drinks on all surfaces, the toilet had bits of toilet paper stuck to the inside of the bowl and there were no towels in the room. You would think, that with the Covid 19 pandemic, hotels would be required to step up their game a little bit to help prevent the spread. My husband, who is not a germophobe by any means, even in the midst of this pandemic, had to get some disinfectant wipes and wipe down all surfaces that he may touch during his six-hour stay. It probably would have been safer for him to sleep in a tent on the street. Great Work Wyndham, NOT! read more

Horrible experience. Room had to be aired out as A/C was off and it smelled like mold. Next morning preparing for a shower discovered the towels were stained black on both sides and tub had hairs and yellow urine stain. It made me gag it was so nasty looking. Notified front desk in person who said all their towels were stained by firefighters who had been staying there and said she would notify housekeeping to clean better. She did not seem concerned. Housekeeping never showed up. Left w/o a shower. Coffee pot was in bathroom and doubt it was sanitary. Only one plug in room to charge cell phone and not convenient placed and two lamps plugged in there. Fridge was unplugged and did not cool well. Killed one roach on wall. My bad for being so tired from driving all day and not checking the room well before accepting it. Came down sick with stomach virus and wonder if I caught it here. This is not a bad place. Friends were there in June 09 while I visited, and I just stayed there for 3-nights. It is an old motel, but the rooms were mostly clean, the towells and bedding very nice, clean, odor free; no complaints there. I am rating this place based on the fact that it can be obtanied for ~$42 a night (online). So please take this in to consideration. The staff is friendly and helpfull, and if getting a non-smoking room you can park basically right outside your door, if you get a room from like 120 -130 (but do NOT quote me here). Having just stayed there 3-nights, this was my experience. The room at first spelled like a dissenficant and I thought it would be a problem, but that quickly went away (unless it was me? Which I do not think). Never noticed it again... They have a nice pool, and each room has a small fridge AC & micro, and the standard coffee maker. My TV sucked (way dark picture), but it was probably unique to my room. The bathrooms are somewhat small, especially for a large guy like me, but OK. It's right on the Sac river, so if you're a boating/fishing nut like me, that's kinda cool. read more

Cheap rooms. Pool. Right off the Sacramento river. Denny's and a Valero next door. Motel allows pets. Rooms include a tv with cable programming. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker. I was in room 227. Room gets pretty toasty when you return in the evenings since the staff turn off the AC during the day. AC is loud. The one in our room also rattled. Found a few ants in the room. Seems reasonable considering the visible ant trails and the layer of dead ants on the pool area. read more

Terrible. I typically don't waste time with bad reviews, but I felt I should share my experience to warn others who are looking for a quick place to crash late at night while we did. Our travels took longer so we decided to find a room for a few hours. We didn't want to spend too much money since it's just a place for a few hours, and found this place on Expedia for $96. We arrived around 11:00 pm and arrived after 11 hours on the road. The desk clerk didn't say hello, didn't smile, didn't say a word. I have my name and all she said was "credit card and ID" I handed them over, watched her punch some things in the computer...put a piece of paper in front of me (without saying a word still) and I didn't know what she wanted from me with it. So I looked at it then she put an X and circled the signature line while still annoyed, so I signed it and handed it back. She put a few cards in a case and wrote the room # on it and handed it over to me. Didn't tell me where it was, where to park and still only the tone sentence while I'm checking in. So I grabbed the keys and we ventured off to find our room. We finally found it on the second floor...and omg! The top blanket wa ashore and it was nasty!! It had yellow and grey stains all over and the room stunk of must and ick. There was no way we could even sit on the bed. So we went back to front desk....I even started off apologizing for asking, but I wanted to change rooms and showed her the pic of the blanket. She said she'd give us another blanket and we asked for another room instead. She huffed and annoyed and gave us a new room (which was on the bottom floor and closer) and told us to bring the old key when we were done moving. Really!? After all we've had to move and back and forth, now I ha e to bring back the key instead of leaving it in the room? There were so many gross things wrong with the new room. Of course after seeing the last blanket, we did a bed big check and the mattress cover kept coming off exposing the disgusting stains on the mattress....it was so gross! The mattress was very worn and the amount of stains and gross things on it was ridiculous. We had no choice but to put sheets over it and endure it. The carpet was so dirty and sticky, the bottom of my socks were black from the dirt. We had to have socks or shoes on the whole time because all the flooring was sticky too. It was hard when trying to change and shower. The shower floor was totally gross. There was crusty pee and dribble around the toilet and trim. The sink drain was slow, everything was old and worn. There were tiny bugs all over the bathroom too. The carpet was frayed in the corner and cob webs and debris as well. The furniture was old and gunky. It needed a super thorough sterile clean from top to bottom. It's obvious they just do a wipe down each time between visits. There's just so much wrong with the room. More than I'm listing. It was a bad experience and it's not worth saving a buck or two. read more

I rented this room on hotels.com, it was supposed to be a double queen, wheel chair accessible. Then I get there and they don't even have a handicap room( witch I'm pretty sure that is illegal) and the beds are two fulls and I can't even get the wheelchair in the restroom, there are no bars in the restroom for them to even get into the bathtub/shower, I requested a roll away and they said sure no problem, I get there and and they don't even have that option and there's no way a rollaways would ever fit in the room anyway. I tried to call Hotels.com and Travelodge and both are closed so they can't help me and the hotel said there's nothing they can do . So now I'm stuck with two wheelchairs handicapped people and can't walk at all in this little tiny room or nothing at all what to do, this is awful read more

The hotel is perfect for a long term stay. Rooms are clean, comfortable with helpful staff. Rooms are located away from the street noise and downhill with a river view from top floor. The downstairs rooms are nice also with a sliding patio door. This is our best stop next time we come in to town. read more

Booked a room with 2 queen beds as we were 3 adults and a teenager traveling. Unfriendly and disinterested front desk person put us in a room with a queen and a full. It may sound nit picky but I paid for two queen beds. Kids fell asleep on the queen before we realized the second bed was smaller. We sucked it up as it was late. When I talked to the front desk in the morning, they didn't believe that they had any full beds so I got a minimal apology. We got there around 8:45 pm, and the pool was closed by 9 pm. Tiny towels. Tub drains very slowly. Rooms air conditioning was off so it took forever to cool down. I think I got maybe four hours of sleep between the small bouncy bed and the heat. Well it is no longer the Travelodge. Now named the Riverbank Inn... I've stayed here for the 3rd time now and I must agree with one of the yelp comments on here stating, "the 80's would like their appliances back!" Lol. It is a little old and outdated surely, but for a cheap room in the area it is best of its class. When I don't feel like spending 150$ for a room this is the hotel I choose for a cheap stay running at about 60-65$ a night. Obviously under new ownership as the rooms appear cleaner but still could use some immediate upgrades such as the tube TV and the window a.c. that's mounted thru the wall. It is cold however a little noisy the last two stays here. I guess I'm lucky with room 127 and a semi quiet ac ( for how old it is). Cheap room come's with your basics fridge micro TV ac heater, etc..smoking and non smoking rooms which is nice cause I'm a smoker and its hard to find rooms that allow that anymore. They allow pets for a small fee. Its just your average basic cheap stay! read more
