I called and it was like I was a new customer. They would get somebody out on Thursday, maybe sooner. I never waited more than a few hours when I had worked with them previously. The tech arrived today at 12:15, as timestamped by my security cameras, and pulled the door in the truck closed at 12:57. Forty-three minutes by my count. I was charged 1.5 hours labor, $256. $200/hour! the last time I had springs replaced by Calder, the same exact job on my other garage door, the entire bill was $181. I will NEVER use this company again. They are definitely not the same company. - in name only. Caveat Emptor!!

Dave was very helpful and he told me that it would only take 2 hours to do the replacement- I was skeptical but he was confident. Dylan, was the installer for the door. Dylan was very focused, conscientious and completely cleaned up the garage workspace. And guess what? It really only took 2 hours! I'm getting lots of compliments about my new door :)! In fact, we had told him in writing that the tenant might ask for more work to be done, but we were not authorizing it. He did it anyway and charged us. Not only did he lack transparency, but his overall professionalism was lacking. We had to ask, multiple times for an invoice for our records. The invoice terms stated Net 30 but he began harassing us to pay the invoice via text and email within hours of sending the invoice.

From the start, my interactions with their Sales/Quote representative, Glenn, were frustrating and unprofessional. He struggled to hold a clear conversation about product specifications and talked over me when I tried to ask questions. When I held him accountable to the original options he had presented, he even suggested I should just go with another fence company. On two separate occasions, Glenn promised to deliver a detailed quote within 24 hours. Both times, GMH didn't deliver. They did provide an excuse by saying they were waiting on me to provide quote options for vinyl but that is not true. Glenn stated "I just bought a trailer of aluminum and had to see what the freight was" before the quote and now I understand they were trying to push me a different product than originally provided. Over all I waited over a week to receive anything. When I finally got the quote and began asking detailed questions about the aluminum fence I wanted to order, the experience went downhill quickly. Glenn seemed unable or unwilling to answer my legitimate questions and started pushing a completely different product than what was originally discussed. After reaching out to GMH with my feedback, the company showed little concern. Instead of addressing the issues, they sent me a revised quote that was nearly double the original price, claiming the fence option I wanted had been discontinued. This was a clear case of over-promising and under-delivering. Before doing business with GMH, I strongly recommend that future customers: * Carefully validate the exact product specifications and options immediately available * Ensure everything discussed (including brochure details option) is clearly listed on the written quote * Get all promises in writing I truly wanted to work with GMH and had high hopes based on their initial presentation, but the entire process--from quoting to follow-up--was filled with unnecessary frustration and inconsistency. I hope this review helps my neighbors in East Longmeadow avoid a similar experience.
