On the day of the timing belt service for the Acura RDX, I had dropped off the vehicle in the morning and was later notified at a reasonable time (as estimated), that the vehicle was ready for pick-up. Upon arriving at the shop, Hoang took the time to explain what his team had completed (torqued bolts to OEM spec, displayed the condition of the previous belt, etc.) and answered any questions that I had in mind. The quality in the work showed and I wasn't pressured into signing off any additional service work that was not required. My mom brought her car in because it was hesitating to accelerate past 50 mph. After paying $189 for a diagnostic service, the mechanic first said the engine had failed and even gave her a quote for a full engine replacement. Later, the story changed -- first to a catalytic converter issue and then again to something else. When she picked up the car, it was in worse condition than before. It wouldn't go over 10 mph, and they admitted they already knew it was running that way but still let her drive it into traffic without warning her. The only reason they looked at the car again was because it came back in such bad shape. They were combative when we asked questions, and the engine cover wasn't even secured afterward. This used to be a shop we trusted, but the lack of accountability, inconsistent diagnostics, and disregard for safety were unacceptable.
