Pulled in for their advertised free AC check. Was told they wouldn't honor it unless I guaranteed I'd buy the repair from them. When I refused, that "free" ac check was suddenly $190. I asked for clarification he got angry and thats when his friend jumped in and raised it even further to $299. These two couldn't even keep their story straight. I came to have my car inspected and they stripped one of my lug nuts to the point I can't take it off myself and had no resolution of fixing the problem ..... make sure when they torque your wheel back on they don't strip anything for a later problem for you to fix read more

The owners are dishonest. There are plenty of choices in the area, West Houston Automotive is a bad one. I brought my truck in for an oil change and emissions test. Mysteriously while on their rack the starter went out. I had no issues with it previously and drove it in there. $700 later I had a new starter. Couldn't exactly just leave my truck sitting there. While curiously coincidental, I was willing to assume nothing nefarious. The emissions test was a crap show. They told me to drive 50 miles and bring it back, which I did, then they said 50 to 80 miles. I brought it back with 80 miles and they still couldn't do it. They were advertising a full synthetic oil change for $39.99. I brought Mercedes in for an oil change and they said oh no, that's a European car. They claimed it was excluded in the fine print. I said OK, can you show me the fine print, I didn't see it in your AD. They couldn't do it. They wanted to charge me $165 to do an oil change on Mercedes coup. Go to Jiffy Lube down the street on Dairy Ashford. They will do full synthetic oil change much cheaper. Finally I spoke to some rude jackass and I asked who he was? Asked if he was manager since he acted like one. He said he just worked there. I found out from the front desk that rude jerk was one the owners. He flat out lied. They gave misleading and inaccurate information repeatedly about the so called special. Bottom line, I own 3 vehicles, two of which are German. I will NEVER bring a vehicle back to these guys. They are dishonest and you could likely find yourself fixing something that mysteriously failed inside their garage. read more

From my first experience with these guys, I knew I had found my new auto shop. I had seen them both advertised and recommended by others on NextDoor, so naturally this was the first place I went when my stepdaughter broke the latch on her trunk and I couldn't fix it myself. They took it to the back and pulled back out front before I could get comfortable in the lobby! And they didn't charge me, to boot! (OK, was it that easy to fix??!) I've been back a few times for maintenance type stuff on our cars, and the service is always great, accurate, and quick. They're a fun-loving group of guys too. Many auto mechanic shops are filled with grumpy fellas who treat you like you're just the next ticket they have to fill out. Trying to support them with all my repair and maintenance needs. I trusted them for being straight forward, honest, and reliable. Now their estimate system is built to delete the original estimate document once it is approved. Upon approval other charges are added to the estimate (tax) even though they previously confirm tax was in their all inclusive estimate which their system does not keep. They have a second shop now so maybe the reliable folks have moved to the new location. In the end, I got credited for tax. But the myriad of flush sales was unrelenting. These guys could've taken anywhere between $400 and $800 from me for an evaporative emission control systems leak that was detected in my Toyota 4Runner. Instead, they provided me with honest guidance, diagnosing the problem as it being a mere gas cap leak, and advising that I purchase a gas cap from the Toyota dealership as they did not want me to purchase one at their location because they would have to markup the price and I could purchase from the dealership with no mark up. I'm kind of blown away right now by the level of customer centric service that was provided. This is my new go to vehicle repair shop. Thank you, Eric, and staff for your focus on honesty and integrity. I will hands down be referring more people to you. I thought I was a loyal customer taking all my vehicles here but this is the last time. In one week I had to bring two of my vehicle for service. But I received in return was waste of time and money. This shop has no integrity or compassion when it comes to peoples vehicles. I am now stuck with a vehicle that has additional defects than what it initially had. I was rushed to come pick up my vehicle due to it may get vandalized because they didn't want to lock In there gates. I have no headlights and have to bring vehicles to another shop to fix their errors. read more

I recently had them change all of my fluids in my jeep with BG product along with replacement of the spark plugs and wires as well as a break job. They had me in and out. LADIES BEWARE - Don likes to take advantage of young women who don't know much about cars. Car battery was under warranty (battery was dead after 4.5 months) and they tried to charge us almost $700 to do things to the vehicle outside of warranty work without consent or approval. WITHOUT consent or approval. Don also likes to lie. He claimed that approval was given and that the phone lines are "being recorded" to prove verbal approval, which is false. He claimed to not know how much the tow expense was going to be, another lie. He claimed the vehicle needed other work and he was going to take it upon himself to start working on other things that weren't approved. (Inspection, flushing the transmission, oil change). There was no approval for any of these items and no mention of this work being done. Once I called him out on it and had a screaming match with Don, he told his technicians to stop the work on the vehicle. It's ridiculous that you have to get into a screaming match with these people to get them to stop doing work on YOUR vehicle that you didn't approve. They take advantage of people and it's a shame. I stumbled across this place one Saturday after leaving o'reilys in need of headlight bulb change. The guy in the front was very knowledgeable, helpful and professional. The mechanic and the guy at the front showed me which headlight bulb was out and proceeded to fix it quickly. Both gentlemen offered the upmost customer, informed me about other services that the business offers and were very professional. I have been to this location at least twice and left satisfied both times. I would recommend this business to others. read more
