Encinitas just earned itself a new gem! Perfect place for lunch. They have an awesome indoor/outdoor space. Great place for my to have lunch with my furry friend. Tried the Beet Salad - a very nice helping of beets, argular, goat cheese, and candied walnuts. Delicious! We also had the Turketta and Cubano. Both served with potatoe chips. A very nice size portion. I probably could've gone without the salad, but I'm a sucker for beets. The Turketta had a great jam with avocado, turkey.. just the best sandwich you can ask for. Cubano had different cuts of pork, warmed, grilled.. Better than the traditional cubano to be honest. Of course I had to get dessert.. COOKIES were bomb too. 5 stars non stop all around! Great service and atmosphere. But the food was pretty average. Not bad but not great as everyone claims. Was expecting a lot from the reviews but left underwhelmed. I think with a few tweaks in their recipes it would be better. Moto sauce was too sweet in my opinion. Sandwich was a little too saucy as well. Good vibe on the patio though! read more

I just had the best corn beef sandwich in San Diego! Got the Reuben with the sauerkraut on the side. They serve the 1000 island on the side as well. Took one bite and I was in heaven. Lean corn beef and lots of it! Delicious cheese on grilled rye bread. Sitting outside in the sun with a delightful light breeze. Could only eat have this awesome sandwich! Yes, this place has quickly become a favorite. All the ingredients are present: great food, varied selection of local microbrews, very enjoyable music overhead, large flat screens in the back with interesting stuff to watch, and friendly staff. The cafe racer motif is icing on a damn good cake. The Italian sub was above average, the hot chicken sandwich had a nice level of spice. The person picking the draught lineup knows a thing or two about beer. Not to be missed: the red velvet white chocolate cookie, on loan straight from the heavens. This is the place to go to for great hot sandwiches. To be clear, Board and Brew is the best place for cold sandwiches! We had the Impossible burger which was by far the most impressive veggie burger I have ever had. I do love the quinoa burger at Burger lounge but those are 2 different approaches to the same non meat conclusion. My son loves cubanos and I am sure when we go there, he will agree it is almost as good as the ones we make! Yelp had a check in and get a free beer with the purchase of a beer. Who could resist! Review of the Moto Deli Food Truck. It was a sunny afternoon on High Bluffs Drive when the office building sent out an email stating a gourmet food truck would be onsite. It had been a while since I've had food truck service ( my new job's location is hit or miss on seeing a food truck) so I decided to partake. The Turketta - Cured & Smoked Turkey Breast, Avocado, Arugula, Bacon, Aged White Cheddar, Mostarda on Sliced Squaw Bread. Yeah, that's a lot of components in one sandwich. Surprisingly it wasn't messy. In case you were wondering what Mostarda is, it's a mustard and candied fruit condiment. This decadent sandwich wasn't overbearing with all those flavors. If I was to describe the Turketta it would be an over-the-top gourmet thanksgiving feast put in between squaw bread. What sealed the four stars was the tiny spicy pickle that was include with the sandwich. This had a perfect unexpected kick to it. It wasn't scorching hot, it simply had a strong bite... Having previously worked in the UTC area I have plenty of experience with food trucks and price points. Moto Deli had an average sandwich price of 11 bucks which is a buck higher than most gourmet trucks. At work, the consensus was that the food was good but the portion size/cost was out of wack. One coworker called his burger an "appetizer". - Nice looking truck - Great mini pickle.. Could you make a larger size? - Could be more descriptive of the ingredients on the actual Sandwich Board outside. Note that Moto Deli will soon have a real storefront in Encinitas. The food truck was at a beer fest event I attended. I ordered the moto bahn (like a bahn mi) for $11. It came with some chips, and a spicy pickle. The chips are delicious, and that spicy pickle has quite the kick, and goes really well with the sandwich! The sandwich looks deceivingly dry. However, the pork belly has a nice crisp top with a tender bite. The cinnamon pate is also very flavorful. It was quite a uniquely flavored sandwich. I really enjoyed it. Just left here very unsatisfied. After a very long drive from NorCal to SD, my husband and I decided to stop here for a quick bite after seeing the great reviews. However, service was incredibly slow.. 20+ minutes for a basic ass hot pastrami sandwich? We both had the same thing and agreed the sandwich was underwhelming to say the least. There wasn't a lot of meat, the grilled onions where everywhere but in the sandwich and the cheese was also mostly melted outside the sandwich. Not worth $30 for 2 sandwiches! Moto Deli is a cool spot that fits the neighborhood it's in. It's half outdoor, half indoor with a couple of TVs, a bunch of taps, and some really great sammiches. We ordered the Chicago Beef and the Turketta to go. Both of them were really tasty even after being taken home. The small bag of house-made chips were really great, especially since I was really hungry and needed a snack on the drive home. The guys that worked there were really friendly and knew a ton of about all the menu items. They answered all my questions and were even knowledgeable about the different beers that were on tap. Great sandwiches! I highly recommended the turkey sandwich, very sweet and savory bacon and the sandwiches are actually really thick. I'm usually picky about sandwiches and this place has Hugh quality sandwiches. The Cubano sandwich has a nice hot crunch to it, the Italian is okay but their best sandwich is the turketta! I would like for them to bring back their popular chips! The prices are a little high on the sandwiches though, it might be because of the pandemic. We were on our way down form L.A. to play some golf in Rancho Santa Fe, found Moto Deli on Yelp which had solid reviews so we pulled off for some lunch. Cool little place on PCH and their sammys were solid. I had their Cubano and it was comparable to Porto's in L.A....if you know...you know...lol. Main diff it wasn't served on a traditional cuban sweet roll but the sammy was still on pt. My biggest take away were all the locals who were there...Hats off to everyone in this little beach town...super friendly peeps which is so nice to have seen and experience these days with sooo much shtuff going on in our world. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I wasn't happy with the food here. We kept driving by this place and always saw that it was busy, today we tried it out. My brother and I got the veggie and the caprese, the descriptions sounded great, we also got the house chips. Unfortunately both sandwiches were super bland, no salt or flavor in them. I've had better sandwiches at board and brew and other restaurants. The bread for both sandwiches didn't seem fresh or all that appealing , the French roll was doughy and it was mentioned that it would be toasted but it was not. I do appreciate the vegetarian options, especially since they are eggless, but there is just no flavor and we also had to wait 30 minutes for our food. It was nice to sit outside as well, and would appreciate more umbrellas, more drink options and some salt and pepper packets. Next time I think I'll just get the house chips. read more

I came to Moto multiple times a few years ago and was not impressed. I felt as though they were trying too hard but missed the mark. Today was my last attempt and I'm stoked I gave them another try. As we entered, you walk up to the counter and order your food and the menu is posted on the right side of the tiled wall or review their printed menu. My lifestyle is very healthy and the young man who took my order Was friendly, relaxed and flexible to my dietary needs. I ordered grilled Chicken with pesto over my kale and broccoli salad. Absolutely delicious! My friend has turkey sandwich on rye bread with bacon which is his favorite and each meal comes with a side of home made potato chips. Price Point is reasonable for the fresh and gourmet quality. They offer live music and forgot what day it is. Thou the music they played this afternoon were tunes from the 80's, another good reason to come hang and it's located next to a vintage surf shop. My boyfriend just moved to Encinitas and we wanted to try some sandwiches. I got the Turketta sandwich, with no mayo and my boyfriend got the Ruben, no mayo also! We split them in half so we could have best of both sandwiches :) I usually don't like ruben sandwiches because the sauce is so strong and sour, but I guess that's what makes a Ruben! The waitress on the phone was kind enough to ask if I had an egg allergy, most people don't bother and sometimes the chefs will keep the mayo/dressing with egg in! Both sandwiches were amazing. The turketta is a sandwich you THINK you can make at home, but you really cant and thats why you come here. It tastes very fresh and the ingredients were of quality! I loved the ruben, maybe because there was no weird sauce. It made me feel so warm inside, it was great!! I felt like I just drank a bowl of hot minestrone soup on a cold winter day. MOTO's house-made spicy habanero dill PICKLES are not particularly spicy but the ARE particularly dill. sadly, no mas on the PULPO A LA LEUCADIA (grilled octopus with fingerling potatoes, evoo and HUNGARIAN paprika). really would have liked to give that a try. you can get a FREE frosty, cold, malt beverage with check-in which i didn't catch until after i ordered and sat down to share a coffee-porter with the wife-unit. that's okay -- i saved the offer. we'll be back and almost certainly thirsty then too. read more
