I walked into a photo shop that thankfully is still in operation. They could not have been more helpful in converting a Kodachrome slide to a print. Very happy customer on my first visit to MotoPhoto. Over the years I've been using another photo lab in Bethesda, yet on this occasion I noticed some defects like horizontal bands of uniform color in areas of an image for example like the sky with less texture variation. Minor defects at first glance, I had to look at the print real close to notice, and which might have done the job just fine for casual presentation... but I had a customer who was paying hundreds of dollars for signed Limited Edition prints. Needless to say I didn't want my customer to complain, so I reached out to MotoPhoto hoping they could deliver better print quality. That they did! Got my Canadian passport photo taken here. A nerve wracking experience for us ex-pats. I was planning a trip out of the country, staring at a nearly expired passport and terrified that my mailed application would be denied due to the photo not meeting the Canadian requirements. Turns out, I shouldn't have worried. MotoPhoto got the requirements down. Passport came in with no problems. I had some passport pictures taken here and had a superb experience. I went to three different, highly rated on Yelp, passport photographers before coming here and was not satisfied at all. The photographer was patient and offered to take multiple shots without being promoted, he then patiently reviewed them and offered to take more. At all the other places, even though they were empty, the photographers acted bothered by the mere mention of taking another shot. The quality of the prints was great as well. Even though I was very satisfied with the results, the photographer mentioned that if I had any issues at all with the passport agency, they would retake and reprint free of charge. I had no issues at all, but it was very comforting to know they stood by their service. It is expensive, but well worth the money. I highly recommend this place. read more

Great place to get your passport photos. After comparing with Costco, Walgreens and CVS, MotoPhoto turns out to be our best option for our visa photo - we got our photos in 20 minutes! Parking is super convenient and there is a whole food next to it, we walked around and also got some snake while waiting for picking up our visa photos, which is also in great quality. read more

3 stars for overall quality of this place 5 stars for the potential of getting quality results 1 star for the screw up and the quote changes on the fly So, overall 2 stars for one experience So we had a ton of slides to digitize, very important slides where quality is of essence. We inspected them, neatly organized them, and were glad to receive completed discs of what at first appeared as great digital images. Color reproduction was good and there wasn't any unnecessary chopping/cropping on images, but what really messed up our order was the lack of professionalism in one area in particular. The manager processed our slides, she appeared to have been experienced and yet she failed to notify us how filthy the images will look if they are not cleaned prior to digitizing them. She was able to see the images from slides large and even agreed later that the old slides are dirty. The dirt is not seen until you see the image in full with the equipment that they have. So, all of our images are now at least 30% less clear than they could have been and that's after months of going through each image and removing "the dust" that we can remove with a Photoshop tool, but so much filth is impossible to remove digitally because of a layer stuck to the film of fine dust and microscopic debris that we could not detect just by looking at slides without magnification. We would not have been in this position if she had mentioned that were are better off cleaning them first. On top of that, one price was quoted and then she changed her mind and said that the price will be higher for any additional slides, citing how much work she put into our slides. Really?! This was ultimately a BAD experience. read more

One of the last independent 1 hr photo places for film. *****I use to like this store.....until I starting comparing their printing work to Dodge Chrome. This place does a poor job of printing photos. I've had issues where there is dust on the prints and they don't even bother apologize. They even had the gaul to offer me 50 free digital prints to make up for it. Why would come back for 50 free prints if they can't do the job right the first time *****After reading the owner's comments, I've decided its not fair to judge them on just 1 problem. Motophoto has bent over backwards to process my film even after they were closed and I've been a customer with them for several years. My issue was how they handled one particular problem and considering I've used them over 30 times, I can't let once instance define the store. read more

I brought in 8 irreplaceable, one of a kind photos to be framed and they lost 2 of them. In return, I got the 6 remaining photos framed for free by them. I'd much rather have the missing 2 photos back. No one called me to tell me they lost them. They just waited for me to call asking about my order and then said, "the manager didn't call you?". That's when and how I found out the photos were lost. When I went in to pick up the remaining photos, the man working today handed me the frame and said he'd give me a discount. I said "keep the discount and just give me my 8 photos." He called the manager and then said he didn't know they lost my photos. No one inside this business is communicating to each other too, apparently. I'm sad they lost my photos but there's nothing I can do except never go back. read more

I just wanted to express my gratitude to Eric for the high-quality work and efficient service he provided me today. I came in with 22 pics on my iPhone that I needed printed in 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 format. Eric made it happen and all in one hour. I was especially appreciated because I came in without warning because of the impending storm. Eric helped me from start to finish -- plugged in my iPhone to your computer, transferred my pics to a thumb drive and printed and trimmed the photos. They came out beautifully. Wow - shockingly horrific service. Last week I ordered pictures only to find out their machine was out if order and would be for days. Would have been nice info to have in advance. Now called to confirm the machine was working only to come in 3 hours after placing the order to have the clerk tell me all the reasons it is my fault the order didn't come through. Then blames it on his manager who is shockingly not present. For an industry troubled by technology seems to me service should be mandatory to survive. read more
