My insurance agent recommended this place. At first I was going to go to MVA and do it myself, but it was a bit tricky doing all the things I needed to take care of online, or at the MVA. I didn't know it was all by appointment now. I messed up the title when filling in the odometer, hence voided it. So I bucked up and came here. So glad I did. I wasn't in and out in 15 minutes like other reviewers, but they helped me thru the steps I needed to complete. First being a MD inspection. They recommended a place nearby and thankfully they fit me in. I passed, yay! They provided me with a title paper I needed to fill out and fax to the previous owner (because of my error), and I had it sent back to Motor Title. I had a bit of wait time, but not on their end. It was painless. I would do it again. Several people came in while I was there for title transfers. They were immediately helped. The ladies working the counter are terrific and know their business. They have cute, docile dogs behind the counter. I wish I could bring my pooch to work! BTW, MVA is a few doors down, but for titling needs this is your best bet. They even have a Yelp Certificate framed on the wall for being a customer favorite business. read more

I should have done this review a while ago because this place is AMAZING. Every single person I dealt with here was very polite/friendly, HELPFUL and informative. We moved to MD from CA and the whole process of changing states with our car and tags/title was completely foreign to us. But they take care of everything for you! They work directly with the MVA and your title/lien holder on your behalf! All you have to do is make sure your vehicle is inspected. We live in Frederick, which isn't too far, but I'm sure I could find a place closer to home HOWEVER I'd rather drive the 30 mins to come here because I know I will be taken care of. I work with a non profit organization and handle car donations. I have used this company to to transfer tags and tile to our non profit. Previously I dealt with nice young ladies who are at front desk and it was very smooth. Last week, I went to transfer the title and the older gentleman owner or manager who sits in the office behind the reception. He made me to go back three times because every time he had a new objection. It appears he is not current in dealing with customers. After I fed up with his behavior, I went to another Tag and Title place in Germantown and got the transfer done in a few months. read more

Terrible experience. I called them (on Tuesday) about transferring my car registration from CA to MD and the lady on the phone took all the information (whether I had MD DL, whether the car was financed, etc) and recommended me to come in with the documents (DL, lien holder info, bill of sale, etc). She told me they can apply for a MD DL number and provide me with a temporary tag. I came in two days later (Thursday) and they tell me that the owner has 'recently' decided not to service if you don't own the title. I drove all the way to Gaithersburg because of the information provided by the lady on the phone which turned out to be incorrect. They are not reliable. read more

To keep it short, the owner worked with me to get a duplicate title as quickly as possible - and even volunteered to refund some money when they experienced a delay (due to being momentarily short handed) because they could not get to the MVA immediately when the title arrived. I used their service to register my cars when I moved to Maryland and I would rate that experience 5 stars. However I am not pleased with my recent experience. I asked to do a title and registration for my lease buyout car. They asked me if I did safety inspection and I told them it is not required because the MVA website clearly says safety inspection is not required when a leased vehicle titled in Maryland is transferred to the lessee at the end of the lease. They insisted they need that and said they have done many lease buyout cases and all need safety inspection. At last, they asked me to do it at MVA myself. I wonder if they have ever tried to do lease buyout car registration without state inspection. I understand the more documents you have the higher chance you get it done in one shot, but some document comes at the customer's expense. Maybe they just don't care, it's not their money. I'm am very upset when I went to this location to turn in my tags and I was willing to pay the 5$ fee to return them to this location. The owner became upset with me because how my daughter was behaving and started to tell me how to raise my child. So of course I told him it was none of his business. He told me to leave the business. The crazy part is I was referred to come to this location. I just moved to this area and I am very upset about the customer service that I received at this location. Nelson took care of getting it all done in a hurry and attached the plates for me. All for $55. Your lying to yourself if you think it isn't worth that much to save you a trip to the MVA.
