"To us, you are #1!" said a light box sign at the front desk of Terry's Tag & Title Service in Westminster. #1 is truly how I felt when Terry and her business helped us get Maryland plates and registration for our car. I'm new to MD and all the paperwork required by the MVA to register and title a car was overwhelming. I also dreaded the excise tax and wait times. Having to jump through hoops just to get the original title to my car from previous lienholder and DMV, I wanted the MD registration and titling to go a lot smoother. Found out this can all be done through a tag and titling service instead of the MVA, so per usual, off to Yelp I go to find the best of the best. **Terry's Tag & Title Service** there it was, in all its glory. I had a few (ok, a lot) of questions before heading to Terry's in person - I first called the Columbia location and spoke to Brian, who was very helpful. He gave me a checklist of documents to bring and advised me to wait to come in until I have all the docs in hand. After weeks of waiting on my title, I had more questions and this time, I connected with Terry via email. After answering my questions and providing reassurance, she offered to meet us at this location and help us on a Saturday morning since all locations were closed for Labor Day weekend. After hearing our story, she anticipated our next steps (such as getting MD licenses) and gave us advice - made me feel she was looking out for us. She was knowledgeable, personable, and very efficient. I appreciated Terry's guidance through all of this and in the end, Terry's Tag & Title Service helped us save time and money. Like they advertise...in and out in minutes. Only reason I do not give them 5-stars...nowhere on their website does it say...BRING YOUR CHECKBOOK. Yes, folks, turn your watch back about 30 years! Oh, they take credit/debit, but it all gets run through as credit and you get to pay credit card processing fee. There are signs when you are at the counter, about the fee, but none on the website! It was only $9...but when you add that on top of their business fee...it is a bit annoying. I recommend using them, especially with 3+ week wait times to get an MVA appointment these days. Just remember... BRING YOUR CHECKBOOK (or Cash) if you want to skip the 2% fee. While my transaction was processing, someone else came in to do a Tag Return drop off. They left without dropping off their tags as they did not have the $11 cash necessary to proceed. Clearly the website needs more than pictures of the staff. read more

Good things happen when you use the private sector, and this organization is a prime example. I'll gladly pay for the efficiency, knowledge, courtesy and professionalism shown by Terry's. As long as you have the correct documentation you are in and out amazingly quickly! I bought a used vehicle, went to Terry's and was literally out the door with new tags in hand and all taken care of in 20 minutes start to finish, all with competent smiling faces helping and explaining the process. Shall we contrast that with the local MVA? Waiting in lines, taking numbers, dealing with under motivated government employees, waiting in those crusty chairs waiting to "be called"? NOT! read more

After wasting months with the MVA across the street who was not replying to my messages, I came over to this location. The knowledgeable and friendly staff told me exactly what I needed to do, and, after a few weeks, I finally received a new title. My only gripe is that immediately after that, my phone started ringing off the hook with spam calls for extended warranties. Overall, it's a very helpful place, but be prepared for them to sell your data to everyone! read more

Was in a panic after my son totaled his car, couldn't find title and needed to settle with the insurance company. Was headed to MVA when I remembered Terry's Tag and Title. Went there and staff was very reassuring, walked us through the replacement process. No lines or waiting and ended up with the replacement faster than if we had to go through MVA.
