So HARLEY Bosses, Kim was amazing with warm conversations with her patrons and her candid personality made her an instant friend. Next time you see her, giver her your thanks. The bar was cool. This is your standard museum/attraction restaurant. I sat at the bar my server was very friendly and walked me through the menu. I selected one of the burgers with some fries and they were good but nothing mind blowing. Tons of selections on the menu as well as a well stocked bar and beer selection. read more

Awesome time here. This was our first stop on our visit to Milwaukee, and it was perfect. We sat outside to enjoy the view where a friendly server helped us. We did mostly appetizers for the table to share as I needed to try the Wisconsin must haves: Fried Cheese curds- regular and buffalo! - yummy!!! and yes, different from fried mozzarella. I prefer the regular. I thought the buffalo flavor was good, however it got soggy fast. The Pig Skins - potato skins with pulled pork was excellent. The brats variety was delish Wood-Grilled Sausage Cuts "Grilled bratwurst, knockwurst and Polish sausages served with home-style sauerkraut, horseradish mustard, rye toast points and cranberry-orange chutney." the chili was very good - stewed and simmered with love - a pretty generous portion served in a little crock bowl. We washed it all down with different colas: cream soda, ginger ale and cherry cola... all which were bottled in Wisconsin. The restaurant even had a motorcyle that was bolted down so kids and adults took photo ops with it - a major hit with us tourists. Quick hit: Good food, nice atmosphere, little pricey (but hey, it's a museum restaurant). 3 - 4 on score, but I'm going 3. Stopped in for a first visit with 8 others around 2ish on a Sat. Got seated right away. Our waitress took care of us from start to finish in a pleasant manner. Had cheese curds and 'skins' for apps. Tasty things. Group had chix sandwiches, hot dogs, chix strips, and burgers, presentation was good. All said their meal was good. Stopped in with friends on Friday to try the fish fry. The fish was descent / average but we didn't care for the sweat tarter sauce. Over-all, for the price we expected a little more. We shared the jambalaya. It was full of sausage, shrimp and chicken with good seasoning. Recommend! Went on Good Friday for fish fry. It was moderately busy, with a reservation we were seated promptly but unfortunately at a wonky table that was off balance not at one leg but on the middle support column so we couldn't fix it. 5 of us got all you can eat fish, one child opting for grilled cheese and soup- he was very happy. The fish is listed as "Cornmeal crusted and beer-battered", there is nothing beer battered about it. It's not bad- the coating was crispy and the fish was was not over cooked but fish fry in Wisconsin is not a sweet cornmeal crust- think cheese curds from culvers. The coleslaw is the best thing on the plate. AdditIonal orders of fish/fries came out relatively quick. It's fun playing music bingo but I wouldn't go back for the fish. Including 20% tip and 5 sodas we were under $200 so it's not overpriced. read more

I was pleasantly pleased with the taste and quality of the food. This wasn't just a novelty restaurant! Harley Davidson decor and atmosphere was really fun and only added to the enjoyment of our lunch experience before heading over to the Harley Museum. The food was delicious and worth the money. This review focuses primarily on Motor's new offspring: Can Room, opened late September 2017. Can Room now occupies a former space that was Racer Cafe. Racer was supposed to be a little quick-bite addendum to Motor, but it never really caught on and mostly took up valuable space. Nearly 10 years after the H-D Museum opened, the folks at H-D decided to do something unique to the former cafe and, boy, have they! Now, I'm usually overly sycophantic when it comes to craft beer bars. I always appreciate places that strive to serve up my favorite bevvie in a new and stylish way, and that's exactly what Can Room does. They serve beer. In cans. Lots of kinds. Hence the name, Can Room. At my September 20, 2017 visit, the count is at 60 unique American craft beers all served in an aluminum can. They have a wide variety and a few extra special and spectacular ones including Warpigs' Lazurite, a juicy IPA created in a collaboration between 3 Floyds Brewing out of Indiana and Danish gypsy brewer Mikkeller. This beer is sublime. And at least at this time, The Can Room is the only place that I know has it. (Side note: they do not have any sour beers on the menu. If you're reading this, Can Room, I suggest Here Gose Nothin' from Destihl Brewery. It's served in cans.) The room has been smartly decorated in rustic earth tones fabricated from metal and wood. There's a couple of tvs too, so it's nice place to watch the Brewers as they make a 2017 post-season push. Can Room's food is from the adjacent Motor restaurant. It's good. I've had numerous things off their menu including the Friday night fish fry which was borderline perfect, to burgers and wings. I've never been disappointed. It's perfect grub for dining at Can Room too. One last thing, if you're reading this and thinking, "Mike, what're you talking about? I've been to Motor. It's not THAT great." I encourage you to return. They've done many cool things to this area after a mid-2017 remodel. They added a boat dock if you want to approach the museum via the Menomonee River, and the al fresco dining area might be the finest in all of Milwaukee. It's gorgeous and huge and super cool. I heard a lot about this restaurant. So I was super excited to try it out. They make really GOOD drinks. Weren't watered down and were perfect. But I wasn't as impressed with the food. I had the beef brisket plate. It came with fries, cold slaw, and a cornbread muffin. The brisket didn't have a smoked taste/flavor. It tasted like it was just baked not smoked. It was tender but had wayyyy too much fat and not enough meat. The cold slaw tasted like spoiled milk...seriously. The fries were really good. The cornbread muffin was dry and hard. I did see someone else's burger come pass me. It looked amazing. If I give them 1 more try I'd get a burger. read more

Went there to grab dinner, walked in apparently the main restaurant area was closed for an event so the bartender was super crabby, told us that we could sit in the bar area that was right before the restaurant when you walk in, give us our own when you had a carrier menus to the table! Looked at the beer list that she gave me orders of your off the list. She told me it only comes in a can of everything about areas only can with an attitude. Give us our food appetizer was terrible. The menu offers a delicious selection of comfort foods. We started off with the soft pretzels and cheese. They were so soft and warm! I got a burger, and my husband got a barbecue sandwich. We thought the fries were quite good. The banana cream pie in a jar was a fun take on a classic. We sat outside and loved the view. We were right on the canal and watched the boats drive past. I didn't get the chance to dine in the formal restaurant, as it was closed for a private event when we visited. We end up in the 'can' room aka small bar. So this review is for just the food, which was filling, hearty, and delicious. It makes sense that a Harley Davidson vendor, would serve stick to your ribs food. I had the brisket stuffed baked potato. The brisket was "cut with a fork" tender and juicy. The potato had to be from Idaho. Then cover it all with cheese, sour cream, and butter. Definitely will be returning once the leaves start falling and footballs on TV. read more

This is a place you take people from out of town. The location is uniquely located on the Harley Davidson museum campus along the river. They were just starting to set up the outdoor dining area on our visit. First tip. Lots of parking. Huge area dedicated to motorcycle parking. Lots of buildings not well marked. Lots of unhelpful staff wandering campus. When approaching the cluster of buildings, the Motor Bar is directly east and south at the riverbank. So walk past all the buildings and keep your eye out for the entry on your right. Food was typical bar food. I had a chicken sandwich that was not well thought out. Ingredients all perfect, but it was served on toast. The bread just broke apart making it a mess. I actually gave up and left over half my meal on the plate. The brisket got good comments. Service was quick and friendly. There for business and our server was very conscious of when to stop by and when to leave us be. Job well done! Go for the unique venue. I've been here about half dozen times. Always for business lunch with co-workers or friends. I have to say it is always an enjoyable time. Pleasant atmosphere, very good food for a "bar" and always seating. It seems to becoming our standard go to if we want to drive somewhere for lunch rather than walk downtown. I've had the burgers and salads and chicken sandwiches and today the wings. All have been wonderful and not much to complain about. Good flavor and always different. For example the burger selection is always a culinary experiment that makes me go wow that was really good. This month's wing special is the Firecracker wings. A sweet, tangy and hot buffalo wings. Not too sloppy either. It fit its name for sure. I had the side salad which was enough for a meal in itself. Loaded with romain lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and the biggest croutons in southeast Wisconsin I think. Always a great selection of beers. The seating outside is great. Service is always fast and friendly. When I was in town I, and a coworker managed to eat here twice, because we missed the gift shop hours. I purchased the mug for the beer, and I suspect they sell a lot to tourists like myself. Was worth it to me, so I'd recommend doing it if you want a suveoner. The wait staff was friendly, and the service was quick and attentive... I wasn't really expecting that to be honest. I had a burger and the wings, and my coworker had a burger both times. Everything was well prepared, and tasty. I'd say the prices weren't nearly as bad as I expected either. I've had the chance to visit Motor a few times - once for an Elite event and most recently, for a work lunch/interview. I had the task of picking the place and was told "not downtown". Motor really fit the bill for a nicer place where we could talk, and as a bonus the people I was meeting with had never been and thought it was really cool. The space is great - there are nods to Harley's heritage everywhere. Some are obvious - thing engine blocks and vintage photos. Some are more subtle, like the die cuts of the logo on the rear of chairs and leather menu covers. The room feels modern and bit upscale, though you wouldn't be out of place in full riding gear. Menu-wise, it's a fairly basic spread of burgers, sandwiches and some BBQ. I had the chance to try some of the flatbreads & apps at the Elite event and really liked them. My lunch choice (though I sorely wanted a sloppy burger) was a Caesar salad because, you know, professional decorum and all. It was like every Caesar salad I've ever had which is to say "not bad". The people I was with went with the Smokehouse Chicken salad which was enormous and filled with good stuff - I'd probably pick that next time. For lunch, our service was exceptional - she managed to be attentive without interrupting and anytime a glass was near empty a new one magically appeared. Know that Motor has a great drink list and a full bar, but their hours are oddly limited with closing at 6:30pm most nights. That's probably due to most of the crowd coming for the museum but it does make it hard for locals to enjoy a dinner here. I see Motor as a great place for a unique business meeting, a place to take people from out of town or a great place to enjoy some drinks on their patio when the weather is good. The Mister and I still have gift certificates from our domination of the scavenger hunt - I'm excited to head back for some burgers and beers soon. read more

For real doe: museum restaurants aren't generally the cream of the crop, but Motor? Motor's pretty great, you guys. Went to the bbq and blues this past Saturday night. Wow was it good! Three piece blues band was playing and man were they good. As a bonus, our mayor, Tom Barett and his wife were at a table next to us enjoying it too. Seems like a nice down to earth guy. So for $19.99 you got all you can eat chicken, spicy sausage, brisket and pulled pork. Also baked beans, coleslaw and corn muffin. For another $5 spot you could add baby back ribs. We skipped the ribs and just chowed down on the four meats. Chicken had a nice sear, was totally juicy and a ok. Pulled pork was smoky just like I like it. Had two servings of that. Brisket was rock star! Two portions of that as well (time for sweatpants). Sausage was very good. Great casing crunch. Spicy but not insane. Great design fills this HD museum-connected restaurant and beefy, comfortable stools surround a horseshoe bar that has a solid selection of about 12 tap beers; local craft and a few domestics. I showed up right at lunch on my first ride of the year to work (right down the street, and in the middle of February, no less!). The wait to get a menu was a little annoying but with a relatively full house, the staff seemed a little light and the bartender appeared to be pulling double duty. My water remained without a refill but she did stop by to ask how everything was tasting. For my first go around I tried the BBQ Pulled Pork sammich - their menu said all meats are smoked in house - the pulled pork was nice and tender but very lightly smoky. The sandwich was pretty sizable but the meat was a little greasy and could have used more coleslaw. The crisp, almost breaded fries were done to perfection. I was here for lunch before our tour at the museum. It was a group of 25 of us so I think it was a bit overwhelming for the staff. We had a pre fix menu items to choose from - chicken Caesar salad, Reuben sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich. I ordered the pulled pork. The bbq sauce was good and they give you extra to dip your sandwich or fries. The sandwich itself had an onion ring and a tiny bit of cole slaw. The sandwich would taste better had it had more slaw. We stopped in for a first time try this past Saturday evening. The Saturday crowd at 5:30pm was just starting to trickle in but we had a reservation anyway. We did not need one as they had plenty of tables ready. An hour later and it was packed. The menu is a bit limited, but had enough stuff to keep us interested. I was intent on trying a burger since the pictures from others posted on Yelp looked so good. My wife and I both had burgers and their french fries along with the "Gasoline" tap beer made by local Sprecher's brewery in Glendale. Awesome beer. We also ordered up some cheese curds as an appetizer....we will have to try them next time as the waitress/kitchen forgot them. Probably better off anyway. The burgers were made with around a 1/2 pound of ground beef which looked to be pressed at the kitchen and not bought frozen. The burgers were loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomato, guacamole on a great big fresh bun. Served piping hot right from the kitchen. $12.95 each. Draft beers were around $5 for a very large tapered glass holding about a pint plus. I felt that the serving size was appropriate versus the cost for both food and beverages. The dining area is open with a very high ceiling that is not sound proofed so the sound in the restaurant does echo a bit and it was more noisy than I like. However, I could hold a decent conversation with my wife, but it did get louder with more diners. Overall, it was a nice evening and the only screw up was the missed cheese curds. Megan our waitress was very informative about the menu items and was very attentive while we were dining. Nothing special. Just average lunch food that is a quick eat. I had the fish tacos (served with fries) which were average and nothing that blew my mind (presentation was not impressive either). One of my guest had the flat-bread (basically pizza) and he enjoyed it but again it was nothing to write home about. I made it a point to go out and try this place but don't think I will be going back in the future as it is just "average". Had an awesome experience when I came with my dad. We had a very friendly waitress who made us feel welcomed and let us know about a lot of great options. I went with the Souped-up Grilled Cheese that came with a side of tomato basil soup. I absolutely loved it and would definitely recommend if you love grilled cheese sandwiches. My son and I were in this restaurant on 3/26/24. Nothing wrong with the food. After my son ate, he told me his stomach hurt. He's 9. I told him to go use the bathroom. As he was walking, I noticed him not walking in a straight line and all of a sudden he collapsed. I ran over. He told me he felt dizzy. I brought him back to the table and he was terrified and kept yelling that he didn't feel well. I tried to take him to the bathroom which was upstairs. He can't walk and falls again. I kept yelling I need help. NOBODY CAME OVER. I get him up the stairs to the bathroom and he just doesn't look right. I run down the stairs and tell someone my son is upstairs dizzy and ask for a cup of water. The woman took at least five minutes to get the water. I bring it up to him and after drinking, he looks a little better. We go back to the table and the waitress comes over and asks if everything is ok. Meanwhile, I am visibly distraught and shaking and I said no, my son is dizzy and this has never happened before, just bring me the check please. She says let me get someone for you. The manager walks over. Although she was very nice, I felt like she was asking information and writing down my information just to cover their behinds just in case, which I get but still. She asks if I need her to do anything. I said I have no idea, we aren't from here, we're from New York. She asks if I wanted her to google urgent cares. I said no, I am able to do that. She asks if I want security to come over and tells me they have a first aid kit but aren't certified. I said no. I then tell her, that not one of her staff members helped me, when my son was on the floor, I yelled and said I need help. Not one person came over. I was hysterical crying and he was crying and nobody bothered to see if we needed help. I was alone with my child who could not walk and nobody cared. That is unacceptable. Waiting five minutes for a cup of water when I tell them my 9 year old is dizzy is unacceptable. Maybe the staff needs some training on empathy. read more
