I left a bad review before and deleted it. Now I have another 1. Sounds went out, so I had to go digging. Sloppy, cheap installation. I found wires bundled and secured with electrical tape. After further inspection trying to figure out why the sounds went out, I looked under the hood. Only to find the fuse unsecured, dangling and melted. Never was mounted. It be your own people that screw you over! Went to Motorcity Tunes to get a sound system installed. I have a Skar 4 channel amplifier and a Skar class D amplifier. I had my own wiring kit but they told me that it was trash and upsell me a different wiring kit which was cool because he suggested 0 gauge, and I had a four gauge amplifier kit. The owner also sold me a battery for my stereo system. This guy thinks that a (Nermak Model 12V20A) is a battery for a stereo system but it's definitely not. Look up the part number if you like. He charged $90 for this and on Amazon it's only $47. I definitely got scammed from him. He charge $700 for an install that was absolutely sloppy. I have pictures to prove the sloppiness. When the install was done, the car made a winning noise. He never took the courtesy to call during the install to let me know that there was issues during the installation. I go there to pick up my car to find out that the install was absolutely terrible and now I have a winning noise Coming from my speakers. The owner told me that the whining noise isn't that bad and Skar is a cheap product. He wasn't willing to fix the issue. He was willing to sell me a four channel amplifier to fix the issue. Absolutely poor customer service and I had to Car Tunes in Allen Park to Diagnostic issue and said that it was a very bad install. I have before and after pictures of everything. They fix the noise. They tune the amps properly. I would never shop at Motorcity Tunes ever again and they need to be shut down as a business!!! read more

XkGlow under glow kit & HID install Attached are pictures of completed work after only a few weeks. This shop is the biggest joke I've ever seen or heard. After the salesman claimed he "saved me" and pushed me out his shop I'm leaving this review. The workmanship is one of the worst I've seen from any shop. Initially I walked into motor city tunes looking for an HID upgrade. I then explored the possibility with said salesman of an under glow kit. The salesman explained how the kit had capabilities of tapping into turn signals and brake signals to reflect car behavior. I agreed to the install of the underglow with the premise that it would work with turn signals and brake lights. I suppose the first red flag for me should have been the sentence "we got the kit on there but unfortunately we couldn't get the signals to operate correctly". Well then at that point in my head the kit is pointless because I made it very clear to our man's that I wanted those turn signals functional and it's the only reason I would even have the kit in the first place. But since the brakes worked as expected I was suppose to accept the sub-par performance. But I went along with it anyway. I also had concerns about the weather. Since living in michigan I was concerned about the winter months and how the car would deal with varying road conditions. The salesman was very good at his job as he assured me the shop has installed under glow in the past, never had an issue with lights under cars, and he even explained to me how they use "extra silicon" to make sure the lights stick to the underbody. I explained to the salesman the nature of my driving habits, that I am an individual Who drives a lot who's always on The road, who has multiple jobs, and is just starting a career in technology. This is my only car so it will have to operate IN ALL conditions and the salesman aligned with what I was saying and said he understood where I was coming from. So with all this understanding I agreed to the install. Upon initial inspection of the install, completed work was severely underwhelming. Looking around the inside of my car there was spent crimping connectors spread through out, pieces of wire were just everywhere, and the lights weren't what I visioned. I took it back to the shop explaining my concerns and was told "just play with it a little bro". After 3 days, the lights started malfunctioning. My girl was following behind my car and stated "u got wires hanging" I told her "no way". The red color that was originally set to illuminate when braking failed. I again took it back to the shop and was then told since it had rained I would have to wait for repairs so their techs didn't have to work on wet wiring. After the first snow storm of 2022, the whole passenger side light strip completely fell off in my garage. At this point, I knew the kit had to be uninstalled. Time has passed since. Being in the tech industry, I've come to meet cool people LIKE ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS. I showed my buddy (whos been in the industry for 20+ years) a few days ago what was installed and the state of things. He actually asked me if I had installed the kit MYSELF. He also stated that silicon would never work in hopes of "sealing the lights to the underbody of the car" like initially stated by the salesman. My buddy also said that when installing underglow wires should never go UNDER FENDERS. Pretty safe to say this is the worst shop in metro detroit area. I've had plenty of work done on my cars in the past and this is by far one of the worst. If you look real close in the pictures, even the HIDs got messed up... shop taped the bulbs into the housing. LOL. Yea buddy... "you saved me" Edit: the owner states I "cut wires and not from installation" this is false. This was in fact from the install. I only cut wires when I needed to because it was threatening to tie up around my wheels and cause a hazard. read more

Stopped in on Saturday October 16 at 4 pm to get a quote walked in nobody around. Yelled out 3 to 5 times hello no answer. I could hear bottle rockets being shot off. I wanted a quote for getting installing a car alarm. I wasn't going to walk around back. Bottle rockets being shot off who knows which way they are pointing them at. Sorry was really looking forward of getting a quote. Have heard good things but I didn't have a good experience with them. Especially when you don't have a chance to deal with anyone. This place is AMAZING!! They tinted my windows on my older 2017 Impala, and the other day they did my new Impala and it looks so sweet black rims, black tint and a white pearl color car. This makes the car! The gentleman that tinted my car was amazing! Nice, professional and one hell of a talented person! I can't say enough about this place! Trying to get into a new Ram 2020 and the dealership didn't have any with the sound system and sub. Someone at the dealership told me to call this place and talk to Anthony, called and he answered, quoted me a little over $500 for what i wanted which sounds high but its less what i would have paid and have had to wait 2 for weeks for them to get the truck with the sound system plugs at least whatever they install here i can take out and put it into another car after my lease is up! The man sounds professional and sounds like he knew what he was talking about, it was just a shock for me to be referred to a local shop by the dealer but hey I'll always be down to support a local business- i will update my review once i get the work done and i hope the work matches the great customer service i got over the phone! read more

Horrible customer service and product. My sounds went out 5 mins after getting leaving from getting them installed. Brung it back the amp was bad. The amp after 3 months started to go on and off took back they because I had a coat n bag on it made the wires come out. 3-5 mouths later it's still doin the same thing on top of it don't even come on in the morning. When I called in the owner got an Attitude try to over talk me and try to make it like it's my fault for their cheap product and sloppy installation they put in. I will never ever go here. I paid 1500-1800 n my ish sound like trash N it's only been 6 months. I'm taking that cheap ish back to them n goin to Best Buy where I know it will be done rt. May cost more but it will be better n better service. read more

I bought speakers someplace else and was referred to Anthony. They installed my front speakers and also a powered sub (that was mine). They created a mount for the box that looks almost factory to keep the sub from rolling around the trunk. Great job at a reasonable price. I had some personal belongings in the truck that was in their way (my bad!) They put my stuff in a box and put it back in the trunk when they were done. Ultra professional! Thanks Anthony! These guys are absolute professionals, I am surprised no one has given them a review yet. They did an amazing job on setting up interior lighting on my new Mustang 2015. I had bought OEM interior lighting from Ford and they did a great job with the install. The install was smooth with no issues at all, 1 hr and I was out with the OEM look interior lighting. I had to get on here and write up a great report, about these guys here at Motor City Tunes, a friend of mine referred me to them, so I went and checked them out and got a remote starter put in , had it only for a week and it stopped working , long story short I called these guys , they were more than willing to set an appointment for me to come in so they can take a look. Come to find out I had a water leak inside my car which burnt out the Mechanics of the remote starter ,which water damage is not covered on the warranty, so what the staff do , "Gone head and swopit out for him " looked out for me when they could take a loss (350$) on replacing my remote starter due to it not being covered by warranty for water . They have a loyalt client for life and recommending all my people to this spot. Very professional and know what there doing! Thanks again! read more
