Called BMW to get part for BMW. Gave them car info / VIN#. They said did not have in stock, but will have tomorrow. Came in picked part got home, checked not the correct part. Brought back, not installed or removed from sealed plastic bag. Returned part, but BMW charge a 10% restocking for wrong part that they got from BMW warehouse. NOT RIGHT. BMW made the mistake. Wanted $45.82 for restocking fee. Should of issued full refund of $482.88. read more

Our car was taken into BMW Motorwerks for an oil change. When we were paying for the oil change, I was shown other areas that needed fixing which is ok but as part of the upsell was shown the video and was told what tread is remaining and that we need to have 4 new tires - this after getting to brand new tires one month prior from the same place. When I advised this the service tech said he didn't have this in my file and asked if I could show an invoice. Total scam and when I complained about it to the service manager we were told that we can't come back and said I was belligerent which I wasn't and did not raise my voice or swear. I was frustrated and it increased when I was asked to show my invoice. Stay away from here. read more

I wanted to give them five stars but they are a little on expensive side but you get what you pay for! They have excellent service! And they communicate very well! And when I drop off my vehicle they always give me a loaner or offer me other services or give me a ride which is awesome. Another place I took my BMW to stripped my oil plug and never told me. I took it to the dealership because I knew something else was on and nobody else can figure out and kept telling me that there was nothing wrong with my vehicle. The dealership figured it out fixed it and I even use my AAA card and got a little bit of a discount. It seems nowadays if you don't go to the dealership other people who don't have the right electronics to do the scans won't know what is wrong until it cost way more money than it would've. OMGoodness, I just called Motorwerks to request a copy of my purchase agreement and the person who answered the phone sounded as though he was just getting up. The pauses between questions were over 30 seconds and then goes on to tell me that Motorwerks does not keep purchase agreements! That they throw them away after two years!!!! However he says, we do have purchase agreements digitally since 2015! I have a difficult time believing that a dealership is not required to keep those records longer. In any event, he didn't give his name and I didn't ask.....if that is the type of person the finance department has answering their phones, that is definitely a very bad choice. I took my mini to Motowerks to get me 20K oil change. Dropped it off at 7:22am for an 8:40 oil change. The very nice service person said I'll have it ready in a few hours. Cool, I was going to work so no big deal. Get a call at 1:15, my Mini still hasn't been looked at because they are "busy". They need it overnight..... nope.... leaving at 6am for Christmas. She said, I'll have it done by 8pm! 12 Fing hours for an oil change! That's UNREAL!. How about let me change my own oil, reimburse me and note it was changed at 20K. Pretty awful customer service. I'm not surprised by their low rating. We stopped in on Saturday (6/22) to look at the X7 since we are seeking a larger vehicle. When we entered, we stood at the front desk for about 5 minutes before the receptionist came around the corner and asked how she could help us. We were then directed to the second floor where a sales person would meet us. It was about 36 minutes of us just standing there, making eye contact with MULTIPLE sales people before a woman, named Karen, came up to us and asked if she could help us. We told her what we were looking for and she said she would be right with us since one of her customers was working with finance. She said it wouldn't be more than a few minutes. Fast forward 29 minutes, still no help. Karen is at the desk to the far right having social hour with 3 other employees. Other sales people are chatting at each other's desk. No one offered to help us or to even ask us any questions. We were so upset we had to leave. As a sales person, if you know you're busy or a customer will be waiting for a long period of time, pass them on to another sales person that isn't busy. I really hope there's nothing wrong with your used car after you buy it from Motowerks BMW and Shawn Simonet. I had the misfortune of purchasing a car, being lied to, then given the runaround. My issue was with a rattling heat shield. It rattles very noticeably when the car is started from a cold start but not after it has warmed up. So of course Shawn had the car warmed up when we took it for a test drive, then lied when we noticed it AFTER we'd bought that car. Take a gamble if you want, but I wouldn't waste your time. read more

Please do not take your car to this dealership. I've spent over $3,000 in less than a year there and the quality isn't top notch. For an example, I had my coolant leak fixed there in '09 for $1000 and even had it pressure tested. A year later, it leaks again. This time around they wanted to charge another $1300 to replace an expansion tank and a radiator. Now, mind you, they charge me another $72 for a pressure test (of which I've already paid in '09). So, I went on the internet and purchased a radiator ($102.83) and an expansion tank ($42). I'm bringing my car to another shop. Not only that, the service advisor acted like they don't give a damn about you. I've realized that only arrogant pricks work there and only care about the next paycheck. Well, guess what?! If there aren't anymore customers coming their way, they won't be getting any paychecks. FYI, they will try to rob you as much as they can. Do not fall for their fraud smiles. Shop elsewhere - there are other BMW dealers in the Twin Cities. I bought a $60+K certified pre-owned car and from this dealership but felt as if I was dealing with "Bargain Dan's Discount Car Lot". The professionalism is seriously lacking, and the sales tactics feel slimy. 1. They promised to buy out the lease that I had two months left on and that they would cut me a check within two weeks and courier it to me. It's now been 39 days and still no sign of a check. So I am having to pay the last two months of my lease out of pocket. 2. It wasn't until a full 10 days after I took delivery of my car that they reached out and told me that they couldn't get the financing locked down at the interest rate that they promised me. After I told them I would just return the car they *miraculously* were able to get the financing locked and the interest rate honored. 3. The car has three pretty big cosmetic issues, two of which I didn't see when I looked at it. Of course, I should have known to really go over it, but buying a certified preowned car I thought that they would have fixed these flaws or been more forthcoming in revealing the flaws to me. I looked up the fact page on "why to buy certified pre-owned" on their website and one reason they provide is that "Before each BMW can receive the distinction of being Certified and fully backed by BMW of North America, LLC they must be thoroughly inspected, reconditioned and approved by a BMW inspection team of BMW trained technicians, Service Managers and Pre-Owned Managers". I would say that a major rip in the door upholstery and a dent/scratch in rear trunk deck are not "reconditioned". 4. When I emailed to let them know that my temporary plates were about to expire and I hadn't received permanent plates yet they told me that it was because of the "government shutdown". Since the government shutdown is the federal government and not whatsoever impacting the State of Minnesota license plate services, I felt as thought this was an unnecessary lie to appease me - one of those things that made it feel like "Bargain Joe's Discount Car Lot". 5. The BMW Connected app still doesn't recognize me as the owner of the car (a programming issue that needs to be resolved by the dealership as was explained to me by the BMW customer service line for the Connected app) despite three emails to them asking for help in getting this resolved. 6. Throughout this 39 days I have copied the Sales Manager on several emails in trying to get these things resolved and he has not responded to a SINGLE message. I would have expected at least a "we are working on it, sorry for your inconvenience" or something. I have spent a lot of money and expected a MUCH higher level of service. I would recommend looking at other dealerships. read more

It's not that I don't expect a car salesmen to try to sell me a car, it's more that I can't believe what a cruddy job they do of it... I walked in there after setting up an appointment with one of the salesmen and was subsequently ignored because I am a "young person" who apparently has no business being at a BMW dealership. After asking the fifth person to take a moment and assist me I had to mention that I'm a banker before they would give me a second glance and once they knew 'i had money' that's when their attitude SWIFTLY changed. I test drove a few cars, and peeked around not really finding anything that I wanted, until I laid my eyes on the 3-Series of my dreams! It had EVERY option that I was looking for, wasn't new by any means, but had under 40,000 miles on it, and let's be honest, it was pretty! I test drove it and it was love at first sight! I went to my bank (employer) for financing and didn't get the rate I wanted so I thought I would try and see what Motorwerks would offer me. The guy on the phone that sent me the application told me that I would be approved at 6% APR. When I got there to sign on the car I read through the paperwork only to find the "revised APR" at 14%!!! I was FUMING because they were obviously hoping that I would sign the paperwork without looking it over after they had given me bogus rates! Unhappily I asked that they return my deposit (which apparently takes an entire month) and drove home in my old vehicle. After reading up on the issues that other buyers and potentials have experienced here, I am glad that I didn't purchase from them... I will be looking into buying a Hybrid soon anyways. read more

When one thinks of a car dealership the terms honest, fair, and valorous don't typically come to mind first. Expect reality here and you will not be disappointed. Sales people want to sell, and they interact with lots of people. The sales people here were nice and not too pushy (except in regard to surveys mailed after a car purchase in which they directly ask you rate them tops likely in an effort to attain a quality award they can then use for advertisement purposes - blech). I ended up buying a diesel engine and love the car for a long-ish commute in regard to great mileage. It was disappointing to find the the optional "dent and ding" package purchased did not cover anything that may disrupt the paint. A few errant drivers left deep marks in the passenger door when exiting their car in parking lots. Don't buy the extra coverage, unless you like giving away money. The service department has been great with scheduled service. Recently, tire warning lights came on. The dealership suggested I just drop in to have things checked. It was a busy day, but after watching my car not move for 45 minutes I asked for the keys back and left. Busy is busy, but communication could have been better. There is but one highlight to my experiences with Motorwerks BMW. The purchasing experience with Duane Kukral. Unfortunately, my relationship with Motorwerks is officially ending. The service department is the most pathetic example of customer service I have ever seen at a dealership in the past 20 years. It started about a year ago when I had to request to never deal with Steve in service again. Well, contrary to their guarantee...I have. Now, over the past few days I have had to retell my story each day to Buck. Not only did he not remember what we discussed each time I returned his calls, he didn t even remember that we talked. I kept hearing a story about his wife and surgery. The bottom line is that I could give a shit about his excuses. I shouldn t have to deal with this crap at any place of business let alone a BMW dealership. I won t recommend this place to anyone. I may try Minnetonka BMW as I m looking to make a vehicle change. Just called Park Jeep to schedule an appointment for my Jeep Cherokee. They are doing the work tomorrow. Before I could hang up the phone there was an email from them confirming my appointment. Compare that to waiting five weeks for license plates for my BMW at Motorwerks, and having to go back twice because they failed to have a front license plate bracket in stock. They knew it was missing when they sold me the car. The salesman even wrote in down. The "parts associate" demanded a part number from the salesman before even looking for the part. I waited about an hour as this fool forced the salesman to come up with the exact part number. Needless to say the salesman was taking calls from potential customers, as I sat there, further dragging out the time. When I asked the "parts associate" if it be more convenient for him if I bought another car that had a front license plate bracket he gave me the stink eye, but finally went to get the part. All in all it took an hour and fifteen minutes to get the front plate on the car. I have a free marketing slogan for Motorwerks. It may be used free of charge. "Service so bad, you'll think we are trying to go out of business" Another tip for them. Take your vehicles to Park Jeep and learn what real customer service is like. read more

I recently bought a used Cadillac ESCALADE ESV, 2007, it was said to have passed the safety inspection. First, of all it had mismatched tires which was not disclosed, one brand new one, clearly not safe, I agreed to put my own tires on. I finally, got the truck home and drove for about five days. The transmission slips in and out of first to 3 Rd gear, finally the truck just went into safe mode. So, my mechanic said tranny fluid was just changed, and the problem has been present for a while. I bought a vehicle as is, with no warranty, but I was told it was safe, maybe that's what they meant because you can only drive 45 miles an hour in "safe mode". Since, I spent under $20 grand just peanuts compared to the cost of most cars there, let's just say the concern was equally felt. Disappointed immensely. read more

Bought my first BMW here. The sales guy was uber smarmy with everything we discussed, and that made it really hard to have any faith in the dealership or their promises. At first I got the run around, then I was stuck waiting around for close to an hour, and the negotiation was just all sorts of low. Even at the final moment, they screwed up the paper work so I had to come back and re-sign stuff. Sigh. Love the car, but was totally grossed out by the buying experiences. Would have much more so preferred to buy from Sears of any of the other import places, but ended up finding the right car at Motorwerks. That said, while I got my car here, I take it to Orr for any repairs. They just gave me no sense of confidence. So weird that their courtesy shuttle is a Toyota. I was helped immediately when I walked in the lobby but other than that I didn't think their service was particularly notable. The 'used car expert' didn't seem to take me seriously since I drove a civic and I didn't seem to know a lot about BMW cars in general. Probably going to end up getting a Tesla anyway since everyone seems to have a bimmer these days. Also, I know it's standard for car dealers to have catalogs online but they still had some older one's in back that I didn't see until I found the restroom and was by the actual service center. If I could give less than a star rating I WOULD!!! I went into Motorwerks to fulfill a recall for my vehicle. When I dropped it off, I asked the agent if he could check my coolant and he said they could and at no charge. I then, ask the cost of an oil change, and agreed to have it done. Later that day, I received a call that I needed repair on my car, and that it was leaking oil. I declined, picked up my car the next day and was charged an additional 50 bucks - a charge for checking my coolant! After I picked up my car, I drove straight to my trusted mechanic. There was NOTHING wrong with my car, and it did not leak oil. I nearly lost $600. I will never return, and I am disappointed for the lack of integrity. read more

He was able to track down my car, and explained every detail on an out-of-state purchase. I was never pressured, and he made sure to keep me comfortable for since a big transaction. I did not initially agree to move forward with my purchase. He kept in touch with me every so often, and updated me with information. Dropped my girlfriend's car here for an oil change. If you like beemers, you will like this place. Head on over to the showroom for some nice cars. The i8 is in there. Man is that a sleek sexy car! Absolutely gorgeous but I have a thing for M models, especially the M3/M5 line. The M4 looks interesting. Just not sure if it's my cup of tea but it is definitely growing on me. The waiting area is nicely built for comfort and it's spacious. Their lounge has ample seating and there is a TV. They have free Starbucks coffee and donuts. Service was efficient. I purchased my car from BMW Motorworks who insisted I purchase the wrap due to its paint saving quality and the fact that the film was impenetrable. The film broke in several places within two weeks of ownership. After several months and back and forth with skip chips and BMW we came to a resolution to replace the the torn pieces. I still have not owned the car for a year and the bumper is now bubbling. Bubbling is supposedly covered under the warranty except in my case. I've owned the car for about 11 months and haven't put 3,000 miles on it and I don't have a piece of wrap that isn't peeling, bubbling, or torn. The only conversation that happens with skip chips ends in a headache and with no resolution. read more

Purchased a CPO BMW 530i May 2009. There was an SOS error messg the day I drove it off the lot (memorial day weekend) and the sales rep told me I could bring it in the next business day and they would take care of it. That was not an option for me as I was returning to Houston with the vehicle. When I got back to Houston the local dealer said the error was NOT covered under the CPO warranty and that it would cost @ $1000 to fix. After NUMEROUS emails to Motorwerks management, this is how they left it: Chris- I have reviewed the information with my management team and I am declining any participation. Bought my 2007 Mini Cooper a year and a half ago and the experience was great. The guys in the service department are always so professional and helpful. I went in yesterday to check in to trading in my car because it does not do well in the winter. I worked with Leo Guzman. He knows that I have a ton of loans to pay off so I am REALLYT budget conscious. He didn't try to sell me anything. He showed me the facts on what I could trade for, advised that I not trade my car in because I would be losing money (even though he would be making a sale if I did), and took me into the shop to show me that my problem could basically be solved by getting all weather tires. He showed me exactly what was wrong on the tires and even helped me look for cheaper tires online--he could have pushed me into buying tires through them, again would have been a sale for him. I can tell that they really care about their clients. Plus, they have an awesome Starbucks coffee machine in their lobby.... and the coffee is FREE! Woo! read more

He was thorough and answered all my questions before I finally called him. He also sent me another video after the car was washed to identify any imperfections. My flight got delayed, Avery stayed late picked me up from the airport and brought me to the dealership as the finance department waited on a Friday.
