Last night we had our annual company party and thanks to Sadie and Frank it was perfect!!!! Everything was absolutely incredible, the food, the music, the service, the staff and of course the drinks. We could not have asked for a better evening for our staff and leaders. Blue Water catering was outstanding and everyone loved the food. Thank you so much Heather and Jim. Motorworks has become our go to and with Sadie on board we will absolutely plan every party with them. Thank you for going above and beyond.

This is our 2nd visit to this location. We were in town to do a 5k and the restaurants were all packed with holiday parties so we went a little further from our hotel to eat and drink where we knew the food was good. I absolutely love the creamy feta and hot honey appetizer! The smashburger and fries with a lager made my husband very happy. My son liked the ravioli, although it was more of a vodka sauce than a bolognese. I had the Cinzia pizza sandwich which was far too much food so I only ate the insides and a little crust. Would visit again and recommend to others.

We've given Motorworks multiple chances because the outdoor ambiance and live music are genuinely great--but the rest of the experience continues to fall short. The drink list has gotten noticeably smaller over time and is pretty underwhelming. Beer options are limited, and they're often out of multiple selections, which gets frustrating. Even when available, the beers and cocktails are just okay--nothing that really stands out or makes you want to come back specifically for the drinks. Not having a full kitchen is another downside. The food truck works if you need something quick, but it feels overpriced for the quality and doesn't elevate the overall experience. The staff has always been friendly and upbeat, which we appreciate. There is also a manager/owner presence that can come across a bit cocky at times, but that's not the main issue here. The bigger frustration is that this place has so much potential--it has the space, the vibe, and the crowd. It could easily be a standout spot if there were more attention put into expanding the drink selection, improving quality, and creating a more well-rounded food experience. Right now, it just feels like it's not being prioritized.

When traffic was stopped, we couldn't move. Low and behold we were right in front of Motorworks. Just had to go in to let traffic lighten up. Glad we did. Very wide selection of beer. Being a Monday, just walked right up to the bar, no waiting and got a very good Scottish Ale. Nice afternoon and headed out to the beer garden. It's very big and relaxing with a HUGE tree as the centerpiece. Very cool and a great way to unwind from the traffic jam. Had eaten a late lunch so didn't eat but they did have a food cart/truck available. Even if you are not stuck in traffic, do not pass by Motorworks!

This place was dead when we stopped by, not their fault, it was early on a week day. We needed guidance since we weren't familiar with the beer. The bartender was seemingly high as a kite and not helpful as we ordered a flight. The inside smelled like wet mop. The outside was pretty neat, and I imagine it's a good time when there are other patrons. I can't remember the last time I disliked beer so much I didn't drink it... but that happened here.

We stopped by to sample their beer, since we'd only ever had one (pulp friction) at a restaurant. My husband had a flight of IPAs, and his favorite was the Intellectual. I was happy they had 2 mocktails to choose from and liked the Strawberry Drift. Traffic nearby was really backed up, so be sure to use your GPS for the fastest route.

We have been here several times. The beer is always really good, but most times the service can be slow and the food disappointing. It would be nice if they had their own kitchen instead of the food trucks that rotate through. The band we heard was Seranation, they were great , playing island style music. The Jonnie Morgan Band also played a terrific performance, the crowd was really getting into the music. The beer garden area is relaxed and inviting. read more

The beer choice is pretty solid and their location, size, and overall look is pretty decent (umbrellas, games, lots of seating, lighting, etc.) However, here's what went wrong: we had a party of 7, we ordered 5 flights and they only brought out 3. They completely forgot about the TEN choices for the other 2 flights. Then, our waiter didn't even know the history behind the brewery or the location and didn't offer to go ask, he was either new or horribly trained. Then we tried to buy a beer koozie and a shirt, & they didn't even have the tshirt in stock that they had on display. They went to offer what was on display, it was the wrong size, but they left it on display for sale anyway. Then they messed up the bill to top it off. As we were leaving, another customer approached a waitress and said they had been waiting for about 10 mins without anyone approaching them and asked if they could get some service. So disappointed. So much opportunity for this place. read more

The first time we visited we waited over an hour for an extremely overpriced burger that was not even worth the wait. The second time we were there the outside server that was supposed to take care of us was to busy socializing for over thirty minutes to take our order so we walked into the inside bar where we were greeted and served quickly and politely. So now that we know the drill we just go to the bar and don't come hungry. I will say they do pizza outside from a food truck and we did try the pizza which was quite good. Beer selection was fair once we got through the list of what wasn't available. Neat concept but the bar could be raised substantially . read more

Only went once but was impressed by the Indy IPA. Food is brought in from outside but was good (chicken pesto sub). The decor is interesting and the bartender/waiter was great. We were here on a Monday afternoon so, it was pretty quiet. We will go back another time to hear the live music and maybe enjoy the beer garden. read more

Visited Last Sunday 5Pm, My husband and myself, it said seat yourself. We picked a middle table, no staff service for over 10 minutes, first time visit so my husband went up to bar to get drinks, which took over 5 minutes. He said bartender was talking to another patron about a bug in the glass, and bartender was smoking. When my husband returned to our table, around 5:15pm, other tables received service, including anyone walking in. No one came to our table when we finished drinks around 5:45pm, instead the were moving a table behind us while we were trying to listen to music band which was playing, I passed staff members, while going to restroom, no one spoke to me, trying to find restroom, almost got my hand nipped by a dog. Saw people bringing covered dishes in, but saw no advertisied food truck. 6pm we left, won't return . We did find another place down the road for a funday Sunday. read more

I actually visit Motorworks for the first time last weekend. I have to say that I was not impressed and probably went back. We had a party of 6. We first sat inside because we couldn't find a table outside. We were there about 15 minutes or so and never saw a waitress. We got up to go to a table outside and there she was finally making her way to us. We get seated outside and it was at least 20-25 minutes before we saw our waitress. First she brought us 2 menus for 6 people. She finally takes our drink order, hardly raising her head to look at us. In about 10 minutes later she brings 2 more menus. Because there was a large party, when we tried to place our order the first 2 things we ordered we were told they were out of. She takes everyone elses order while we were trying to decide what else we wanted. Once she fj ally came back with everyone else's food. We had another chance to order. We asked how the mac & cheese was and she just shrugged and said I don't know because I don't like mac & cheese. Meanwhile it took about 25 minutes to get a side of mac & cheese. When we finally got out checks I paid with cash. She never asked and didn't bring back my change. I was so over the place that I left anyway. Really not a good impression. It's a shame because it is a nice looking venue. I would not recommend it. read more

Great place to hang out with a group. Wonderful outdoor area with corn hole games and sometimes on the weekends they have music outside. Great beer selection. They don't do food but sometimes have food trucks or groups in to serve food. You can bring in or order pizza delivery. read more

I am a beer guy and and a beer expert and this place is a great craft beer place with a great outdoor area. But the staff can be incredibly rude if you dont know beer very well, instead of asking what types of beer you like and helping you make a choice they tend to get angry and walk away and if they do not like your beer your odered then you will get an ear full, also they dislike local bands in which i witnessed first hand by booting the band they had hired off the stage before they got to finish 1 song i probably will not give them one more doller read more

The beer and outside area were great (rating would be 5) but the service is horrible (rating would be 1), so I split the difference in the star rating. We sat at the bar for several minutes, debating whether to leave or not since we had zero service. We had to wait over 10 minutes to be served, with 6 employees behind the bar and only 2 other patrons at the bar (who already had drinks). We were ignored for a while until a nice lady came out from the back room and started talking to us. All of a sudden one or the bartenders asked us if we had been helped. The lady then asked us, and we told her that we hadn't. She immediately looked over to the remaining staff and told them to help us. It was still quite a while before we got our drinks, with bartenders yelling over at wait staff to come get their own drinks and acting inconvenienced by us being there. The bartender even served them to us incorrectly, naming the beers then swapping them around on the paddle. We got a flight of 6 to share, and all 6 beers were delicious. The patio area was beautiful. read more

I enjoyed the festive atmosphere at Motorworks Brewing. The live music on the stage was top notch, and the outdoor area was large and offered lots of space for seating and playing the different games set up. Unfortunately, I was hungry and the food was horrible. The only option for food was from the food truck menu, and that night the "Jamaican" food truck was serving. Our server assured us that the food from the "Jamaican" food truck would be authentic soul food. I ordered the Jerk fried chicken tenders. To say that the server over sold us on the authenticity of this "Jamaican" dish is an understatement. The chicken was dry, over cooked and bland. There was no Jamaican seasoning on this chicken. I had to ask for extra hot sauce just to make the chicken palatable. Too bad I was hungry that night and had to order something to eat because I would have definitely given this place more stars. My beer was ok, I wanted a light citrus beer but I ordered something that tasted a little too lemony (my bad, I should have asked for a sample). I would love to visit this place again to sample more beers, but only after I have a full belly from eating some place else. read more

i went there and had beer. one time i left and tried to walk to my car, but my car wasnt there and i was in the garden and there was people drunk people everywhere. that is fun. and the girls that work there are good but they were really busy cause there was lots of people everywhere but my server had still had made some time for me and got me everything i asked for and i didnt wait long and the beer was good and my server was good. she had blue hair. and in conclusion. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Frank T.

Frank Tschida knew from the moment they laid their eyes on the building at 1014 9th Street W. in Bradenton, FL that it would be the perfect spot for their new microbrewery. With Frank's lengthy background in Sprint Car racing (and beer drinking), the location that used to house a Hudson Motors dealership in the 40s and 50s had the capacity, and history, that they were looking for. The building's storied past inspired the name Motorworks Brewing, and just as Hudson Motors was renowned for innovative styling and performance, Frank and the Motorworks Brewing team strive to echo that very same spirit of innovation and quality by brewing distinct craft beers.

It seemed clear that the owner is not the chef or directly involved in the kitchen. My husband is from Germany so we know what authentic German food is. On a positive note, the music was authentic and added a nice touch to the atmosphere, which we did enjoy.

Upon entering the restaurant, you will see a bar directly in front of you, and plenty of table seating off to the right in the main dining area. When 3 Keys first opened, they did not have the best food. Now, their food is high quality. I ordered the "we be jammin" burger and it was excellent. The beer did not impress me on my most recent visit. I tried two IPAs and found them to be below average. I would return, but I would hope to try better beers. They certainly have a local following as the brewery has plenty of customers on a Sunday night.

We chose this venue because of it's location in proximity to the wedding (Baker's Ranch), the price, the menu, and mostly because of the room itself and the views of the sunset over the Manatee River. When we first met with Cindi many months ago, she already knew the time of sunset on March 9. That speaks for itself. We set the end of cocktail hour to coincide with that time, and worked everything backwards from there for the rehearsal. The sun cooperated on the day of the event and everything was magical. We choose an open bar, appetizers, and a menu of about five entrees. The food was all very good, but I wouldn't call it excellent. The mahi-mahi was a tad too done. The brisket was close to excellent. I didn't have the island tacos, but heard they were a hit. The coconut shrimp was perfect. So a mix. Appetizers were generous. We selected "premium level" beer and wine and liquor for the bar. Mostly I was happy with that choice - good beer and liquor, except I felt that the Chardonnay options brought it down a notch. We asked for a slightly better Chardonnay, and the best we could get was still not so great. Wine lovers need a little more value in an event like this, and a better white would help to improve the overall value of the premium selection. The venue and the staff are the reason the rating is high. Cindi was very helpful and accommodating from the time we first met in the fall, but really showed her professionalism on the night of the event. She and her team were friendly and helpful, paying attention to detail and flexible in meeting our needs. Big kudos to the staff!

love the atmosphere at motorworks, but the service you receive is horrible! i planned a birthday party with the owner of motorworks. she was not only rude, but laughed at any suggestions i had that did not fit the way "she" wanted it. if i had not sent out invitations, i would have canceled the whole thing. i was made to feel like she was doing me a favor. when we got to the facility, she sat me down and criticized a member of our party before even saying hello and thank you for coming. she changed the fee's once i got to the facility and went back on what we had agreed on. if that wasn't enough, the poor bartenders were working their tale off that night. the bar was understaffed to say the least. the other owner, a gentleman, had the audacity to go back behind the bar and stand in front of half the bar who was waiting over 20 minutes already, explaining that a member of the staff was attending a bachelors party. instead of helping the bartenders out, he stood drinking a beer in front of everybody. are you kidding me!!! we asked him if he could help and get us drinks, he replied with chugging his beer and walking out. what great management/owners! full of excuses and absolutely no customer service. read more

Great Service and Beer!! After reading some of the reviews on here about the poor service, we were a little skeptical about going, but when we looked at their beer menu, we knew we had to give it a try. I don't know what happened with those others who left the bad reviews, but we had EXCELLENT service! Our server was Ty, and we HIGHLY recommend him! He was very knowledgeable about the beers and took great care of us! The beers did not disappoint! We had a blueberry wheat, vanilla cream ale, hazy ipa, and the longboat light, All of which we highly recommend! We've been to a couple of breweries in the Sarasota area, and their beers were ok, but at Motorworks, what we tasted were really good! Highly recommend going here. There is valet parking, plus a self parking lot across the street for easy parking. read more

We really wanted to visit Motorworks when we lived in Orlando after seeing the beautiful pictures of their beer garden. So we stopped in when we were on our way for a weekend getaway to Anna Maria island. We fell in love with the place right away. Our first server who has become our go to server was Zak Butcher. We have developed a friendly relationship ever since. We have since moved close to motorworks in Palmetto. This is our go to place to hang out. Even our friends and family that visit get introduced. The beer garden is one of a kind and the beer is excellent. My go to is intellectual Property Ale. But I will try all of their other offerings and I am never disappointed. Anyone traveling to Bradenton or Anna Maria island needs to stop in and check this place out read more

Waitress was great, however the owner and his soon to be ex wife absolutely ruined our night out. First the two had a physical fight in front of customers and then the wife berated our 10 year old girls who were dancing, having a good time, and not causing an issue. She proceeded to put her hands in the girls faces and threatened to call the cops on them because they were on the dance floor and in her way! What did the owner do, nothing, let her act a fool and wanted our group of 15 out (of course our food / tabs were already paid for - so what did he care). What great customer service you display! Will NEVER go back and DO NOT recommend this establishment to anyone who wants to have a good time! read more

This is by far our favorite venue in town. Love all of the live music and special events. We held my daughter's wedding reception in the beergarden July 2022 and Alex, the event coordinator was amazing, the whole staff was attentive and it came out beautiful! We are regulars on the weekends for the live music and enjoy meeting new locals, having a bite to eat from one of the amazing food trucks and especially visiting with our favorite server and now friend Zak Butcher. He always know what we want to order and does a fantastic job understanding flavor profiles to recommend and even knowing who to sit together in order to accommodate his regulars . read more

For my 25th birthday, my partner and I decided to go to the beach and hit up some local spots. I had never been to motorworks before, but I had heard nothing but great things! I was not disappointed in the slightest! Great staff, very knowledgeable on the beer list, and gave some great recommendations on where to find late night food!! The giant tree covered in lights with the deck built around it was magical and created a very nice ambiance! My partner and I had a lovely time playing Giant Jenga and sipping on some delicious brews! We will definitely be back again!! read more

Best place ever. Awesome customer service, great beer garden, great music, great drinks. We love this place and will be back many times. There was an issue with an offsite Italian place that delivers food for them, The Italian place was slow and rude. Motorworks came over and said they would take care of talking food and deal with the Italian place for us. Just awesome place nice staff and owner. While at the brewery my family and I were served by a young lady named breanne, she was very attentive and friendly and made sure we were taken care of, she helped us with any questions we had of the menu and gave us recommendations based on our preferences, we love the smiles and sweet attitude of our waitress looking forward to seeing her again! We hosted a corporate event (around 30 guests) at Motorworks Brewing on January 13th, 2020. It was a great experience, and we definitely would recommend it for someone looking for a unique place to host an event. The staff, beer, and food were all great! We worked with Mariah, and she was extremely helpful and responsive. Throughout our planning, we made a lot of changes (the menu, number of guests, etc.), but she never seemed to mind. I absolutely love Motorworks! The beer is top-notch, and the entire vibe is perfect for hanging out or having a party there. The outdoor beer garden is gorgeous--relaxed, welcoming, and full of good energy. I'm especially excited for the Tuesday night Love Island watch parties--such a fun idea! Stopped in for a look-see on the way to a spring training game at McKechnie Field. They don't have food! I'm not sure what they are going for, here, but they are missing out on the opportunity of drawing lunch crowds by not offering food. There only seems to be one real review for this place and everyone else is commenting on the potential of the place. How odd. I don't spend my money based on potential. First time at this place late last night. They sponsored a Latin Dance Event and moved the tables to make a nice sized dance area inside. DJ playing great songs... we got to Salsa and a bit of Bachata!! Fun time and good beer. Recommend you do this more often... draw in the dance crowd (we all (well most of us) like to drink too!!!); I would come more often to hear bands outside but no where to dance. read more

It's too bad their customer service is bad. A friendly, welcoming staff trumps all. You guys fall very short in that department. I would rather travel a little to go to 3 Daughters Brewing than endure the lackluster service. Consider this my last visit to your establishment. Staff is abrasive and cold. This place is great to relax and hang-out. They offer outside seating under their big oak tree. They have a wide selection of local beers. I had had some mediocre drink service in the past, but the last few times that seems to have been resolved. Hands-down the best atmosphere in Bradenton to have a drink on a beautiful day. read more
