Took a pretty gnarly fall during a rhythm section and ended up jamming my throttle pretty bad. I had a race that same weekend and needed to get it fixed asap. No other shop could get me in the same week except these guys. Dropped the bike off same day and picked up 2 days later with the throttle good as new. I had high hopes after talking with Jason at the front desk, but after they rebuilt my front forks I definitely won't be going back. Rebuild was semi-complete, the thread in caps on the top of the shocks where loose and I only realized once I got out riding, which really sucked. I was under the impression after paying over $300 for a rebuild that everything would be in good working order. Lastly the forks made a terrible clunking noise everytime my forks would fully extend. This is a great shop I've been coming here for years never had any problems very knowledgeable staff and very friendly staff. One time I needed a part very badly and wasn't going to make it before they closed and they kept the store open for me for an extra 15 minutes just to sell me a $20 part I can't tell you how far that goes with me. I needed a rear tire put on my cruiser. They had to order it which is fine. The person on the phone seemed a little inexperienced but not a big deal. So I called before I came over and asked if they had the tire. They said yeah come on over. I asked what time and they said 7pm cause sometimes they close early. Ok that's fine. The website says they close at 8 but I understand it can take a while to change a tire. Well I got there just before 7 and the guy was acting all weird like they didn't want to change it so I asked if there was a problem. And he said, well sometimes we get out of here early. And I said that's why I called. I guess he forgot that we talked about changing the tire. So it was really awkward. Then he said where's your bike. I said its the 99 Intruder (we were standing literally in front of the bike) The only other motorcycle there was one of theirs. He said oh I thought it would be bigger. Then was like wheres the ignition on this... Not exactly a vote of confidence. I'm only riding on 2 wheels you know. I kind of hope they change the tire right. I don't know if they're stoned or what, but I don't think I'll be back. Update after getting the tire changed. Everything was fine. I had to put more air in afterwards, but at least it didn't fall off my bike. Stick to your posted hours and don't make doing business with you weird. read more

I've come here once for a tire replacement with my own tire (which was a bit less than acceptable, but where else do you go if your old tire is splitting) and another time to get handlebars replaced (which I ended up not doing here) was met with egotism and slight racism. If you're Asian or not 6ft tall, then I would pass on this place. I don't usually get offended when people whisper the word chink, but here you know their intent is malicious. Up selling crap to you and saying the parts you bring are broken (which they aren't, as verified by a laser) so they can sell you more overpriced junk leaves a bad taste for local business. If you are able to go to Tracy or Hayward and get it fixed at the dealer there, I would highly recommend doing so instead. My experience there was better, despite their worse reputations. At the very least when something goes wrong you can hold them accountable. read more

I'm new to the world of power sports and need a place to take my "new to me" quad for service and to get the carbs cleaned because the machine had been sitting in storage for over 2 years. I gave Andy a call after reading all the great yelp reviews and everything written about him was true. A genuinely nice guy with a laid back personality that's a very knowledgeable motorcycle mechanic. He explained what typically would have to be done to get the machine back to peak performance, what it would cost and then he went to work. A few days later I picked up my quad and took it straight to Carnegie. What a HUGE difference. So much more power and torque. He educated me on proper maintenance and cleaning with out laying on any high pressured sales tactics to get me to buy anything. His shop rates are reasonable and the service is outstanding. If you're doing a private party sale, take the machine here for Andy to look at first. I wish had brought it to him instead of the big dealer in Fremont who spent 15 minutes looking at it and didn't tell me the carbs were clogged (and they still charged me for an hour's labor)! Overall very happy with my experience here. read more

Took my 2015 Ninja 650 into get its front tire replaced, with a tire I had already purchased online. They were able to swap out same day. Very knowledgeable team, even noticed a missing bolt which they were able to replace free of charge. If the price were slightly lower it would be 5 stars for me, but I will return. read more

These guys saved my butt. I live in L.A. and was on a road trip to San Francisco on my Suzuki Bandit. On the way back to L.A. I hear a strange popping noise and decide to get off the Freeway to inspect it. I check out the chain and I've got a broken link. Call my girlfriend back home and ask her to help me locate a shop that is close by, open on Sunday afternoon, has the chain and can put it on. No short order I realize. I had pretty much resigned myself to being stuck in Livermore, possibly until Tuesday (Monday was a holiday!) She found Motowrx on the internet, and gave me their number. I called them and they gave me great directions (fortunately I wasn't far away). I rode in and explained my situation. They were amazing, they pulled the bike they were working on off the rack and put mine up. They offered me a soda and a chair and told me to relax. They had the bike up and running with a brand new chain in no time. I also needed a new tire and was happy to let them do that as well. The funny part is, it was no more expensive than in the MEGA moto shop I normally go to at home! These guys are super professional and really know their stuff. They live, eat and work bikes. I just wished I lived closer so I could always take my bike there, but for sure I'll be stopping by whenever I'm up that way again. read more

After talking to the company via E-mail, they are now changing their story from my drain plug being faulty, to my engine burning oil. I have put thousands of miles on this bike and have never had an issue with either the drain plug or burning/lost oil. And if I did, any reputable shop would be able to point that out to me upon picking up the bike. Never once did they mention low and/or burned oil. I have been without transportation for weeks now and they have done nothing but make excuses and fail to respond in a reasonable amount of time (usually days). Once again, you have been warned. I will make sure this business is reported and this story is reposted. Please go to another shop that knows what they are doing and are professional. read more

Went in today to change out the tire on my wheel for my crf450r. It was very easy to find my tiresize and that there were a surplus to choose from. paid about 85$ for the tire and FREE installation. Not just that but it took only 30 mins to get it done. the guy there was very laidback and full of laughs ( as well as their sleepy pitbull that slept in the shop where he saw fit, haha). Their gear seemed deciently priced as well ill probably get my fork seals here now; they know they're way around a bike, and at a reasonable price, WHY NOT? read more

Called here and clerk is frankly not the nicest. Asked him how his day was in a very friendly tone and received an incredibly terse what do you need? Really? You're going to let a customer be kinder to you than vice versa. I asked about simple chain service and he sort of snickered and told me they do the entire bike for 75$. He then proceeded to explain I need to do an oil change and full service every thousand miles and it may not have been directed to me but I certainly heard his colleague laughing in the background. That may have been unrelated but didn't seem to be. So I asked him if every 1000 miles an oil change is needed why my owners manual specified 3500 to which he explained a wet clutch etc. To be rude and provide misinformation is really unfortunate. If I spoke with the owner that's incredibly disappointing I would assume not. If I were the owner I'd invest in a secret shopper or have a friend call and listen in. Not the type of person you want representing your brand. read more

As one of Livermore's only motorcycle shops with a service bay, excluding dealers, you'd think Motowrx should own the market. They have a very easy to spot location right off of the Portola exit from 580. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the shop itself is kept up nicely. Since they are a smaller shop you get to know the staff and it is very nice to have a local bike shop to go to. Unfortunately in some regards size does matter and their smaller size means somewhat higher prices and less services they can offer; their selection of parts and accessories is a bit slim and with a Cycle Gear in Pleasanton I'm not sure how they can compete, however the great friendly service helps offset the difference and consistently draws me back. Very cool people work there and it is the type of shop you can hangout at and bs with the staff. read more

I go there to get my motorcycle tires changed. They do a great job at a great price. I'm only giving these guys 4 stars because I think they're not in touch with the cruiser market. I went in and bought oil and filter for my Kawasaki. They told me I need to change oil every 1000 miles. Even the Owners manual says 6000. I think they were trying to sell oil. read more

Customer service is top notch. They definitely know how to treat their customers like they are important. They are really easy to deal with and do all they can to solve motorcycle related issues. If you have any questions they are willing to take the time to help you as long as they know the answer. I always buy my oil/filter/tires from these guys and misc tools. I usually bring the wheels in and they remove, mount, balance my wheels for the cost of the new tire. There prices are competitive and a real gem to have in Livermore!!! read more

Just a few points short of 5 stars, and I will say that it's about as good as an accessory/service shop can get with a few quibbles. I originally spoke with Jason, almost six months ago while shopping for some motocross gloves. He is definitely friendly and willing to talk to you about what you need. Fast forward to about a week ago after my bike just got serviced and I would say that I would continue to do business with MotoWRX. Ended up with a new pair of gloves as well (in my never ending search for THE right glove). The shop, because it is independently owned and operated, definitely has that old-school shop feel--and that could be a good thing or a bad thing. I would say that with a bit of cleaning, better product arrangement, and blowing out REALLY old inventory, this place could be a 5 out of 5. read more

I am writing about a confrontational experience at this shop. So I ordered a battery at this shop and they delivered the incorrect type. When I came in to pick up the battery, I noticed that it was incorrect for my bike. At that time there was another person in the shop who declared himself as an ex-Honda parts manager and insisted that the battery was correct for my application. Obviously it wasn't as I brought in proof that the battery I ordered was correct for my motorcycle. This was altogether an unacceptable business interaction and I would not recommend these people for anything other than simple entertainment. read more
