Sometimes, all I want is a nice crispy samosa or some hot and satisfying shorba. The versions supplied by Mount Everest definitely hit the spot. There are lots of varying choices on their lunch buffet, and their dinner entrees are large and delicious with deep flavor. It seems like you get more when you order carryout than when you dine it, but the containers could be deceiving. Service is friendly and prompt, and their dining area is huge so there is never a wait. My only gripe, and this is with all Indian restaurants, is why you can't sub naan bread for your rice. I could see an upcharge for the specialty naan, but I would much rather skip the rice all together and just have some bread. If you want delicious Indian food than you can't go wrong eating here. Entering this non-imposing establishment at a strip mall off of Bel Air Road you will notice the roomy interior. There is plenty of tables. When we went there was hardly more than two other tables occupied. The servers were nice and the food came out quickly. We had the chicken korma,vegetable platter and garlic naan. Everything was delicious, especially the garlic naan loaded with garlic. The cons were the disappearing servers at the end of the service and the really loud and out of station music. If they can fix the music and be more attentive towards the end of service this would be a five star review. read more

This was my first time eating Indian food, and it was quite good! We got the chicken Tikka Masala, lamb jalfrezi, and regular Naans. Before your meal comes out they give you "poppers" that are like tortillas but really thin and crispy. They're quite salty. Two sauces came out to pair with it, one tasted sweet and the other was a green cilantro sauce and they both were really good! Service was nice, there was one young lady and a man who seemed like the owner. They were both very nice and the food didn't come out long to take. The food was good! BUT I did want to give THREE stars because for the price the bowls seems so small! We were a party of three and we finished our dishes, and it was enough, but I just felt like it looked a LOT smaller than I expected for about $12-14 per dish. Also, one order of Naans gives you 4, and I didn't realize it was like one Naan cut into quarters. It was very good with the tikka Masala cream tomato sauce and the green cilantro sauce as well. It was overall good experience. But next time I want Indian food, I'm probly going to look for a joint where they serve more for that price. read more

Gave this place another shot. Ok like 4 more since my last post. The buffet is still good, they raised the price to $9.99 during the week. However, they did not have many of the options on the buffet that they used to have. No more soft bread (although they do provide the table with free naan). No samosas or goat curry either. The food here absolutely blew my mind. Mount Everest was my first experience with Indian or Nepali cuisine, and let's put it this way: I've been here three times this week. Not only is the food so reasonably priced, but the portion sizes are MASSIVE. The wait staff asks you how spicy you would like the food on a scale of 1-10, and the flavors of the food are still so vibrant with the heat. The staff is so helpful and friendly, they helped my boyfriend and I navigate our way trough the menu. The food is top notch. The skill and artistry that goes into these intricate dishes is truly second to none. They have vegan and vegetarian options for those who prefer. So I want to give this place 5 stars but a few things are stopping me. The first time I went here for the lunch buffet the spread was amazing. Great selection. Delicious. Two salads, all of the dipping sauces, pakora, good selections of vegetable dishes, two kinds or rice, several delicious chicken dishes. Fast forward to the second time.... bad vegetable selection, goat and chicken gizzard dishes. I could get into it at all. Also, when I was there the first time they had this delicious Himalayan ice tea and they didn't have it the second time. Pretty disappointing. Also, not sure what goes on in the one side of the restaurant but there are constantly people coming and going and they are not there to eat which seems weird to me. I have eaten at Mt. Everest restaurant for many years. I have primarily eaten at their lunch buffet in the afternoon, but have also eaten there in the evening. The food has always been excellent with a wonderful selection of items to choose from. I love saag, dal, samosas, chicken dishes and aloo gobi. My favorite is a Nepali dish called momos. You can get the momos vegetarian or chicken. They are yummy! I like the ambience in there with the lights low. The staff is very friendly and helpful and will give you good advice on what you might like to order. While I am guessing that the buffet will disappear because of COVID-19, I am sure that Mt. I can't come up with any explanation as to why there is an amazing Indian/Nepalese/Burmese restaurant in the Overlea-Fullerton area, but I'm not going to complain. It bewilders me as to why people will wait an hour and a half to go to the Olive Garden in White Marsh when they could have far superior food just 10 minutes away at Mt. Everest, and be served immediately. The food seems to be branded primarily Nepalese, though it really is mostly indian dishes with a few items from Nepal. The menu is very extensive with many Northern selections, a Southern indian side of the menu (mostly dosas), Chow Chow noodles, and a few other signature items. Everything from appetizer, entree, and parathas were fantastic. They ask what level of spice you want with each dish, and when I said extra extra hot they definitely obliged. One of the spiciest offerings I've ever had at a restaurant. They also offer a lunch buffet which I would love to try sometime. The place was almost completely empty at dinner on a Saturday so I hope the word gets out and they get busier. It would be a real shame to lose this place and leave us with IHOP, Olive Garden, and Bob Evans as the sole restaurant offerings nearby! read more

So I've been ordering take-out from their Frankford Ave location (5 minutes drive) for 5+ years now and only just now realized they had a restaurant. I can't believe I've overlooked this for so long! When we were new to the area, we tried some of their take-out to break up the usual pizza/wings monotony. It was fantastic and we've been fans since then. When we found their restaurant, we just had to eat there and we were not disappointed. I visited on a Friday evening with my wife and 4 1/2 yr old daughter and we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Alcohol is BYOB and were brought a nice bottle of Cotes du Rhone red (Grenache blend). We love their food and over-ordered because we really wanted those leftovers. We ordered the assorted appetizer plate, Naan (regular and garlic), Himalay Chana Masala (chana masala with home-made cheese), Bhindi Masala (okra masala), and Lamb Biryani. We received complimentary Gulab Jamun for dessert. We love okra and really enjoyed the Bhindi and are always glad to have lamb biryani. Business was light (only three or four tables seated while we were there) but the service could not have been better. The staff were attentive, gave us plenty of time to order (can be difficult with a 4 yr old sometimes) and really just treated us like stars. It was truly a heartwarming experience how welcoming and friendly they were. We can't wait to go back. Really folks, you need to try this place. And us fans should form a support group or something because there seems to be a cult following, but not yet a critical mass. read more

We had an excellent experience and will definitely be returning soon. Don't let the location fool you. We have lived close by for over a year and were underwhelmed by the location, thinking "can there really be great Indian cuisine in such a lackluster strip mall?" We decided to try it out recently and loved it. The inside is decorated just like traditional Indian restaurant. The service was prompt and friendly. But the food? Definitely above our expectations. I've never been to an Indian restaurant that asks you how spicy you want your dish to be. As someone who loves spicy food, I really appreciated this - and I'm sure someone who does not would appreciate it as well. I had channa masala, a dish that while flavorful lacks the spice I love. So they made it extra spicy for me and I've been craving it ever since. My boyfriend had the chicken vindaloo (also on the spicy side) and loved every bite. We also shared some naan that was stuffed with cheese and fruit - it was decadent and super tasty. We will definitely return for dine in, as well as add it to our list of favorite carry out places. Getting delivery from this place is great. Better than going to the buffet there. I work near there but don't have the time to actually go there and eat so I get delivery. The delivery is FAST. I'm talking about 20-30 minutes. Most of the time around 20 minutes compared to the usual delivery services around the area being at least twice as long. I usually get their lamb/goat dishes but sometimes get the chicken tikka masala or the chicken vindalloo. Goat curry or the lamb roganjosh are my favorites from this place. The saag paneer is good too if you're a fan of creamed spinach and cheese cubes. Warning: On a rare occasion you might bite on a piece of bone in their meat dishes so tread careful!y! Their buffet is OK. You can get better food at other Indian buffets. But they do have Chai Tea which is delicious! It's not sweet so put in some sugar if you like it sweet. read more

I've been going to their buffet for a while now and it has become a weekly if not bi-weekly family outing. I've consistently been impressed with their food especially there chicken tiki masala which is the bomb. Their are reasonable priced at around 7-8$ buffet during the week and 10$ on the weekend with buffet running from 11:00am till 3:00pm. For all you can eat it's the best! Personally my favorite is the chicken tiki masala. For desert, a weakness of mine is their kheer (pronounced like dear but with a k). It is a type of rice pudding, it is a little bit and I stress little bit thinner then your typical rice putting but it is awesome. I have tried to replicate but have failed. Nothing like how they make it. If you like Indian this is the place to go! read more

They'll amp up the spice if you ask them nicely, and you can order through Yelp. There's also a lunch buffet if you get here early enough. The food is generally good but not outstanding. If you want to try Gulab Jamun, I'd suggest making a point of coming to the buffet, because the cost of one order alone is more than half the price of the buffet, where you can have as much as you'd like. read more

Yum!! I recently ventured here to satisfy an Indian food craving and thoroughly enjoyed the food. After perusing the menu, I called to place an order to pick up to bring back to my friend's place to share. We decided on the momo (dumplings), chicken tikka masala (spicy please), and naan to dip in the sauce. The dumplings were really good. Tons of spice and flavor and I liked that they used wonton skin because it was thin and mild and really let the filling shine. The chicken tikka masala was one of the best I've ever had. It had the flavor I'm used to but it wasn't overly oily and greasy like many Indian restaurants I've been to. It was creamy and delicate and the portion size was really generous with plenty of chicken. The two of us weren't able to finish it. The naan was nice and fluffy and I could tell it was really fresh because it didn't turn crunchy or dry out immediately after it was removed from its little foil pouch. That's something that happens to naan that's slightly older and has been reheated poorly. The guy that got my order and helped me check out was really nice and friendly and gave me a little discount, just because, which I thought was generous of him. The decor is a little kitschy but I'll give then an A for effort. read more

Loved this place! I was jonesing for southern Indian food, and there aren't many options in Baltimore. The masala dosa was awesome. I asked for it extra spicy, and they complied. The kitchen mixed up our order, so it took a while, but the server brought out an extra dosa while we waited--nice touch. I can't wait to go back and try out the rest of the menu. Everything we had was great, but we were eating light that night. They have the usual northern Indian dishes we know and love, and if they are as good as the dosai, this could be a five-star review. I was skeptical of an Indian-Nepali-American restaurant. The outside of the restaurant was not very flashy. In fact it looked dark like it was closed except for the "open" sign. However, inside it was warm and welcoming. The hosts are very friendly. I ordered the Samosa chat - it was a little more sour than I would prefer it. I then ordered the chicken chow mein. This was excellent! The chicken was cooked just right and had good flavor. The crunch of the peppers complimented the softness of the noodles. I have been dying to find a good Indian restaurant since I moved to Perry Hall last year. When I saw a Groupon for Mount Everest, I knew I had to check it out. I am so happy I did. This was the most delicious, freshest Indian food I had eaten in a very long time. The naan was heavenly and fresh and delicious. I have had it at other places where it has been slightly burned and gets hard after sitting on the table. That was not the case at all here. The naan remained soft and fresh and hot the whole time we were eating. The samosas were the biggest I have ever seen and flavored perfectly. They had a strong curry flavor and a delicious blend of veggie and potatoes. They were an excellent start for our meal. We had tandoori chicken and chicken korma. I love chicken korma, and I have been disappointed at some places. But his tasted so delicious and reminded me of the first time I ever had it when I fell in love with chicken korma. The chicken tandoori was perfectly cooked and had an amazing sauce. To top it off, the staff was friendly and super helpful. We finished the rice but had leftover dishes, so they gave us a fresh box of ride for carryout with our leftovers. They were very attentive to the levels of our drinks and on the ball with refills. Long story short, I am so happy to have finally tried Mount Everest. I can't wait to try other dishes because I'm sure they will be awesome. This unassuming shopping center restaurant is a hidden gem, we have been eating here for years, but never bother to write a review. Each and every time we eat here or get carry out, the staff is attentive and polite. I often order an item not on the menu and they always accommodate. This is the perfect place to take someone new to e cuisine. Last night, my Mother in law experienced Indian for the first time, we ordered an assortment of appetizers and Chaat, not on the menu and each was fresh and delicious. We followed that with tandoori chicken which was moist and well seasoned. Veggie Korma which featured a beautiful curry- my only compliant was the lack of cauliflower.
