Friendly service . Average food , unfortunately. Parking in front of restaurant. For some reason, no one was in the restaurant while we were there. I have a feeling they do more business for lunch when they have a buffet. Lots of vegetarian options including a vegetarian and vegan menu, which is a real plus.

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise! A wonderful new Indian/Nepalese restaurant has opened in Perry Hall. It's called Family Kitchen right next to Mission BBQ. They have a simply appointed main Dining Room and, they have a sizable Banquet Room for catering. I visited during lunch time and decided to try the buffet. It costs $15.99 and had the usual dishes to offer. It being an Indian buffet in Perry Hall, USA, I found it sort of bland. Probably to avoid offending our perceived bland American pallets. I tried each dish offered on the buffet and, though beautiful and colorful, nothing really surprised me with an explosion of flavor. I think I need to take my Nepalese neighbor out to dinner and have him educate me about the food and culture. After all, learning about other cultures is more than half the fun of dining out I recommend Family Kitchen and I truly wish them success here in Perry Hall. Hopefully, once I learn how and what to order, I'll become a regular diner and good friend. I'm offering 4 stars for now and I'll be back to try again.

This place is a gem! They have a very fresh and popular lunch buffet for $17! It has a good portion of the menu available including butter chicken, tikka masala , vindaloo, samosas, naan, biryani, the sweet little ball desserts (I forgot the name) and even mango lassi. I ordered dine in from the menu this time and it did not disappoint! The dish was hot and well portioned enough to take home leftovers! I ordered lamb vindaloo and they did not skimp on the lamb! There were potatoes but modestly in comparison to the meat. The menu is expansive and they do have an entire section of vegetarian options. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is always warm, inviting, and prompt. Also the food isn't overly greasy or salty. If you're ever this far north into Baltimore county, Family Kitchen is worth a stop! Their consistency when it comes to cuisine and service is a standout. The bathrooms are also clean. This local restaurant is one-of-a-kind.

Delicious! Come check this place out! Didn't realize this place was here, it's tucked away in the corner near Weis and mission bbq. Glad we found it though! Inside they have lots of seating and overall the place was very clean and inviting. The service is wonderful and the staff is friendly. There's plenty of free parking out front. The menu is pretty extensive, it was difficult to choose what we wanted to eat so we ordered a lot of items. My go to dish is always a tikka masala for any new place that offers it, this one was definitely in the top 10 of places I've tried with tikka masala. The food was all freshly made and flavorful, we can't wait to be on this side of town again to try out more items!

From the moment you walk under the welcoming sign inside you can tell this place is cared for. It is a beautifully maintained, smaller restaurant that maximizes its space perfectly. The dining area is incredibly clean, cozy, and bright, featuring crisp tablecloths and an awesome "Save the Himalayas" wall mural that adds a great touch of character to the room. The service here is incredibly fast and attentive. We barely had to wait at all before our table was filled with fresh, steaming dishes. The food is where this place truly shines. Everything we ordered was packed with vibrant, well-balanced spices. Appetizers: We started with a perfectly crispy fried pakora/fritter served with sweet and tangy dipping sauces which set a high bar for the rest of the meal. The Momos: You absolutely cannot leave without trying their momos. They are perfectly doughy, juicy, and paired with an addictive orange chutney. We couldn't get enough of them. For the main course, the traditional metal thali tray offered a spectacular variety of flavors. Between the spiced chicken, seasoned potatoes, savory chickpea mixture, and beaten rice, every single component on the plate was an absolute hit. Small, clean, lightning-fast service, and exceptionally great food. Himalayan House hits all the right notes for a perfect casual lunch or dinner. I will definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu!

It's not the best Indian I've ever had but it'll do in a pinch. I was crazing papadam and they do that very well. I like the tamarind and mint sauce and the yogurt sauce is standard but yummy. The butter chicken is flavorful and the lamp as well. The naan was okay and the biryani is quite bland. The worst thing for me is how dry the chicken is. Even though all the chicken was covered in sauce, they were somehow very dry. I'm glad I tried Nepal Place but I would try a different place before returning here.

There's a few options to choose from and after trying each one, I think Nepal House has the best prices for the best quality and flavor. We ordered the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and lamb vindaloo. Each came with its own serving of rice and included generous chunks of meat. They didn't just fill up the container with sauce and call it a day, the serving size definitely reflected the price unlike some other places. The lamb vindaloo was full of flavor and spice with soft squares of potatoes. The butter chicken was creamy and comforting with the right spice level. Everything was ready on time and packed with care. I'd love to return to dine in for their lunch buffet since it seems like a great deal.

I am genuinely disappointed by my experience at Mount Everest Restaurant and Bar in the Inner…read moreHarbor. My wife, our 6-year-old daughter, and I stopped in for an early dinner after spending several hours at the National Aquarium. The restaurant's proximity (under five minutes away) and strong online rating (~4.6) made it an easy choice. We were also influenced by a promotion advertised on their website: buy two entrées, get the third (chicken or vegetarian) free. When we tried to order under that promotion, our server told us they had not run it in "many years." If that is the case, it should not be listed online. It factored into our decision to dine there, and advertising an outdated special is misleading. That said, my negative review is not based primarily--or even secondarily--on the inaccurate promotion. Restaurants ultimately succeed or fail on taste and execution, and that is where this meal fell well short. We ordered the Lamb Junelly, the Kabob Platter, and two garlic naans. The Lamb Junelly, which I requested at a medium spice level, leaned noticeably sweet. It contained surprisingly little lamb, and while I did not find it overly chewy, my wife did. Overall, it lacked depth and balance. The bigger letdown was the Kabob Platter (chicken tikka, lamb seekh kabob, shrimp, and chicken tandoori). All three of us agreed the chicken tikka was dry and nearly flavorless. That says something, given how hungry we were after skipping lunch. My wife captured it best: "I was so looking forward to the Kabob Platter, and I was so disappointed by it. I left the restaurant almost sad." I felt much the same. Service was acceptable but inattentive. Our server never checked in during the meal. Had he done so, I likely would have asked for lemon slices to brighten the kabobs. When we left--around 6:00 p.m. on a Thursday--we were the only guests in the restaurant, yet there was no acknowledgment from our server or the staff members sitting nearby. That absence of basic hospitality stood out. This is not an inexpensive place (garlic naan costs $7 apiece). At those prices, execution and attentiveness matter. On this visit, both fell short. Among the many restaurants I have visited, this would land in my bottom quartile. I would not return, and I would not recommend it--especially for the à la carte dinner service.

The workers were also kind enough to replenish our naan basket when it got low, making sure we had everything we needed. As an extra bonus, there was also dessert! The gulab jamun and rice pudding were both perfect in my eyes, the right balance of sweetness without being overpowering or too rich for me. I recommend this place incredibly highly, such great value and such great food I am so excited to come back!

She doesn't have the same palette as I do for food, but when she mentioned a buffet for $16, she was definitely speaking my language! My favorite detail in the Lumbini is the huge chandelier hanging in the front of the restaurant. Service was great. There was only one person taking orders and running food out, but it wasn't incredibly busy. Most people were coming for the buffet, and there was no need to take orders for that.
