Had a wonderful time attending a friend's softball game here! Tons of parking. Heads up for the "pop up ball" zones - though I didn't witness any balls hit over the fence. The sidewalks were super spacious and everything was clean. The fields were well maintained. Enjoyed the company of my fellow crowd members. The softball league community seemed great too. Snacks are available for sale or you can bring your own. Looking forward to attending more games here, as well as to checking out the park during the day.

This is horrible so much pollution. They need to put up solar powered cameras in this place to prevent people from littering here because it's affecting the environmental protection laws.. it's messing with the ecology of the animals here as well there's a whole mountain right here with a sign of wildlife preserve. It's truly disturbing and disgusting to see how humans do not appreciate the beauty of this world given to us for free. I'm not sure who the park ranger is but I'm gonna call tomorrow and let them know that something needs to be done about this..

This is a beautiful hike. It's moderately difficult. There are different wildflowers along the trail. Parking is inside a neighborhood. There is a spot at the top you can rest before heading back down if you choose. Great views. Go early, because it gets hot quickly!

I usually really like this park I love their basketball courts . The nature walk path is well kept and it's a really nice serene walk . The restroom are a little ways to get to but I've never checked them out , so I can't speak of the cleanliness of them. But do vouch on the distance of the restroom . The proof is in the pudding , some children were very freely relieving themselves on the plants . Today I tried out the children's play ground although the area is well kept . The play structure needs some help . It is unsafe for children younger than 5 years old and that's only if they are tall . My two year old is the height of a 4yr old super tall and the steps are super high. The drop from the slide is too steep . The steps into the play area are also very steep . Yes, children should always be supervised but even then it's unsafe . An abundance of mulch most likely can fix these issue . In the meantime I will be visiting a different park for that reason .

Great Hike! We saw a coyote from the distance. I loved that it wasn't over crowded , it was about 3.83 miles, we did great pace there to the top to the flag and back , intermediate hike.

This a very nice park and it's also a great starting place if you are interested on going on a hike to the nearby mountains using the worn paths. The park offers three baseball/ softball fields, playground equipment, basketball courts, BBQ's, restrooms, and tennis ball courts. The park is large at 19 plus acres and like I said earlier it is near by walking trails that lead up into the local mountains. The park also dubs as a dog park and large parties are allowed with those huge jumpy things. There are shaded picnic areas with tables and trash cans for convenience. In a nut shell, the park is well planned out and community minded.

In my opinion, this is one of the better hikes in the San Diego Chula Vista area. The views are spectacular. And you can make it to the top in about 90 minutes.

Great 1.9 mile hike to the top. Beautiful views. The trail is a bit hard to follow for those who have never been. But a quick visual the mountain you can tell what trail you should be on. Great two hour work out.

A pretty large neighborhood park. Spacious, grassy open area. Trails, basketball, baseball, playgrounds... There were a lot of tables scattered around and a couple gazebos. Pretty clean, I didn't really see any litter or anything out of place. Plenty of parking that circles around most of the park..

Part of a challenge, this was supposedly a walkover - pun intended- after the two previous ones. Not! A hiking trail, albeit one in disrepair with nil signposting and in fact, with the entrance closed, this one is more than a 'moderate' climb as it us classified. The place could do with more attention and care. The initial third is probably the toughest even as it evens out till the 75% stage. One final thrust and you are at the top. Coming down is tricky too since the rubble and detritus make for possible slip traps. Intention is to get volunteers for the upkeep and standardizing this meaningful hiking resource. All in all worth a visit and an apt candidate for a series to test ones fitness level!

Beautiful place to go. It's one of the easier trails in San Diego, but if you decide to go up the mountain off the trail a bit then it's a pretty good work out. Always rewarding once you get to the top.

This is NOT a DOG PARK, this is a PARK that allows dogs. HUGE difference. A DOG PARK is a fenced in area u can let your dog run around with other dogs. This park has a playground, baseball fields, basketball court, tennis court. Nice park. BUT it's not a dog park. Hence the 3 stars (just to warn others).

This is my favorite hike down south. The hike has multiple routes depending on your skill level. You can take the switch back route which is a little easier or go straight up a very steep incline. Once the steep incline is over, you have about another mile of slowly rising terrain before you reach the top. Great views of San Diego, the ocean, and MX especially at sunset. Its usually pretty empty too which I like because I take my pup off the leash.

Best part: FREEEEEEEE muahahah SIZE: WOW when is Yelp going to let us add emojis so I can show you with heart eyes that the size of this park is INSANE! It doesn't get better than this. It just goes and goes and goes and goes. Way back! CLEANLINESS: I actually stepped on a doggy boo boo lmao!!! My vans are ruined right now tbh!!! Sheesh... i don't wanna judge the park by that tho because that was simply a mistake on the dog owners behalf *ahem* DOG POPULATION: They have a SMALL doggo area and a BIG doggo area - we love a good park that caters to all shapes colors flavors and sizes!! Yasss no discrimination here. The dogs here do follow the rules so they are separated- (little Italy - no dogs follow that rule they all play in one big area despite there being signs for separation) but that is for the safety of your dogs. SEATING: there is only one bench on each side that will solely fit 3 people total (ya better know those people in this pandemic - no stranger could sit next to you) they are in the direct sunshine SHADE: not much shade - there is a big tree towards the back however you would have to stand if you wanna stray away from the vitamin D The good news....people do bring their own park chairs / lawn chairs with the detachable umbrella - I've seen that and personally I think that's genius!

Not much in shade; there's a couple of trees on each side. A couple of tables and benches, too, but that's it. Water stations on each side are good. Both sides have little dog obstacles/ramps for them to exercise on. Overall, it's a really good dog park, and the size is one of the biggest, if not the biggest dog park, in the county.

When you approach this area, you can easily be misdirected to the county regional park. To avoid this before you go up the hill to the entrance of the county regional park make a right into the driveway that shows the Sweetwater Reservoir. Once you get in there, you will go along a long dirt road to a parking lot that is eventually located next to the Reservoir fishing area. It is a beautiful trail and it's wonderful to be able to walk around the water and see ducks and birds and other wildlife as well as beautiful plants like Manzanita and chaparral. It is a wonderful trail hike, with beautiful and refreshing wind and sunshine. They have Porta potties that are super clean and well-maintained. I would say the porta potties are about a half a mile apart. They also have a bench with an overlook platform along the trail, and everything that we encountered seem to be very clean and well maintained. We will definitely visit this place again and it is definitely a wonderful place to hike. We were able to get out and started to explore the trail and after about 15 minutes, we realized that there was a Ranger honking at us with his siren coming around the bend. He made his way up to us in his truck and indicated that he would be closing the gate to the park in the next five minutes. We told him that we were told by the Park Ranger at the SD County Park check in booth that this trail closes at 8 PM tonight. He then said that we were not the only family to tell him that but that the Sweetwater Reservoir Trail Park actually closes at 5 PM because it's not a part of the SD County Regional Parks; they close at 8p. We rushed back to our vehicle, which was about a mile and a half away and we were able to get in and leave. We were very lucky that this Park Ranger decided to wait for us because we would've been locked into four or five gates and not able to actually get out of the park, even to get an Uber. This was great to understand and know so that when we go next time, we'll go a lot earlier before 5 PM.

I was pleasantly surprised to see such a welcome update to the south-facing green area of the park. The city of course had to uproot about a dozen big trees for this project but better that, than remain a homeless haven. Next to the courts, the city also built a pro-shop where paid members can hangout, buy refreshments and use the clean restrooms. Members also have the benefit of reserving a court. The wall separating the courts from the apartment complex is made with sound-absorbing material, the benches are shaded and there are properly designated paddle racks for each of the five courts. I was the second pickleball player to arrive for the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the newly built pickleball courts. It was cool to see the usual suspects - friends I play with at Bostonia Rec Center and Lakeside courts, as well as new faces. This being the second El Cajon public pickleball court, me and my friends already started planning the days we will play here. This will most likely become another popular venue and one that will be maintained since local city leaders and council members are avid pickleball players themselves.
