Good luck getting anyone to give a quote for a fire alarm system. Luckily they're not the only game in town.

They have subject matter experts in networks, audio, video, lighting, etc. Three folks came and in a couple hours everything was done. Great work ethic, knowledgeable, efficient, professional. Though it was more than I wanted to pay (it always is), it was well worth it. Richard, Jeremy, Elisa, Jason Kennedy...every person I dealt with was a rock star. And I'm just not used to that.

Two three-way light switches were mis-wired and there were a number of similar very basic mistakes. They also refused to balance the six ceiling fans that they installed. Although they initially came and fixed their other mistakes as we discovered them, when we discovered additional latent problems, they did not call back and we had to follow-up ourselves repeatedly. At that point, I did not leave a bad review because it was merely an annoyance. When one of the 24 $100 (!) permanent LED can ceiling lights recently went out well within its warranty period, they, as its seller (after not calling back as promised) finally said they would not fix it and I needed to contact the light manufacturer and fix it myself rather than them repairing it as an installed permanent fixture under its product warranty. I finally had to ascertain for myself on a ladder (it was on a vaulted ceiling) that the problem actually was in their wiring rather than the light fixture, and when I called a second time to explain that it was their wiring at fault, she said curtly, "we cannot help you at that address." One may ask what is the point of paying well over $40,000 to hire a professional electrician to wire your home if they will not stand behind their work and repair what they mess up with courtesy? I just hope it does not cause a fire before I can find someone else in to fix it.

Excellent service!!!…read more The crew, Tristen and Anthony as well as their supervisor, arrived promptly and did the work per the contract. There was one window that posed a potential problem because it was blocked by a built-in immobile desk with shutters. The solution was to install the detector on the shutters. I also requested a fob, something not usually offered. They thought it was unavailable with my system, They did the research to find that they are available and Anthony left the job to obtain it. When he returned, the two of them connected the fob to the system. Beyond that, Tristen was patient explaining how the system worked. One of my questions was not easily answered regarding how to access a chart I had earlier seen on the home page. Tristen spent time researching and finding the answer. Throughout the time Tristen and Anthony were here they worked quietly, conscientiously and with consideration. Update: Recent heavy snow damaged the sensor for the outside garage door. They will be returning to replace the sensor as well as adding a panic alarm function to the fobs. I've also requested outside signs to let people know about the presence of the burglar alarm. They've ordered them and will install them when they get them. I heartily recommend Northern Nevada Low Voltage!!!

I have thought about this issue for nearly a year...so this is not an emotional review. I have tried to come up with anything positive to say about NuSystems. I can't. This is another one of those rare nightmare companies that simply take your money and 'not do the job' yet aggressively bill you for it. This firm is so bad it's just not worth arguing with them. Simply, accept the loss and run. To name but a few things. Alarm system. Epic Fail. They installed part of the system prior to my home ownership and I hired them to inspect/test and ensure the system property arms and that everything works. I also added more zones and do much more work. After their work, things got even worse with false alarms and often would not arm. This is not a complex system. After thousands of dollars spend and they system still didn't work property. I gave up and hired another firm to come out and run a diagnostics with me hovering over their shoulders to find out 'what's going on?'. Holy Smokes. NuSystems left me a mess. Of the entire house, only the kitchen door and the downstairs door was actually property coded and would arm. None of the other components that they originally installed and the new stuff I had installed were ever added/coded into the system and however, there was a lot of stuff added but these were all typos. So, maybe they tried to add them, but they didn't check their work...I guess this is why the system didn't work property. It gets worse, every single motion and smoke alarm did not actually communicate with the alarm panel. Motions looked like they worked because when you move in front of it, the green light goes to red and you can trigger the smoke by creating smoke but this did not communicate with the panel to initiate a fire emergency. Ooops! Again, they didn't check their work? Insult to injury, the heat sensor in the garage was non-functional. Never connected either. Also, the outside door that leads to my crawl space in the house to the water system also was never coded into the system either. All in all, only two doors triggered the alarm and that's it. So all the work I paid to have enhanced to the alarm didn't work and their original install also didn't work with the exception of two zones: Kitchen and lower floor door. Ethernet Work. I paid NuSystems to extend CAT6 cables so that they can reach the new Ubiquity UBNT switch. Oh gosh. The technician did not check the wiring and completed the wiring BACKWARDS! Really? This is what NuSystems does... and they couldn't get that right either. Oh yes, gets worse again. They added an additional CAT6 line from the bedroom that snaked through to the kitchen. They took the easy route and instead of using the easy accessible panel to the wall that removes...they decided without asking me to drill through my wood beam and leaving an unsightly hole and then string the wire unprotected through the pantry cabinets. They said they would fix it and many months passed and they ultimate refused to correct their damage to my house. What really gets me, is that even with the alarm fiasco...I was willing to work with them. What broke me is their refusal to fix the damage they caused to my home. They simply wouldn't honor and stand behind their work. This surprised me because their owner David came to my house to work on my phone line and during a hour + conversation at his truck he tried to recruit me to his Jehovah witness church and talked about the importance of honor and integrity...their value system. This didn't bother me because I am fairly open minded but... Maybe not bring your religious convictions to the customer and not follow thru? ooops!
