In the 1.5 years since, it's still the place I most often come back to in Hendersonville, despite sampling the food and beer at basically every place in town! I love the ambiance of the old converted gas station, the fact that you can sit inside or outside (and on chilly days, they don't skimp on the heaters) and the carousel of great food trucks that are always there. I love that you're not limited to one brewery's offerings, and instead have options from local NC establishments to interesting brews from all over the country. The bartenders know their regulars and are absolutely awesome, and I LOVE that I can take my pup, take my family, take my laptop---whatever the circumstances, Blue Ridge Beer Garden is the place to be. ALSO, it should be noted that in sleepy Hendo (where some restaurants close as early as 8 pm--why??), Blue Ridge Beer Garden is blessedly open till 10.

But don't knock it till you try it because these pies are to die for. So good we ordered extra to take back home to SoFlo -- and even after the road trip, it was still amazing. That's witchcraft. This place is so hot it's literally only open a couple days a week because it needs time to cool off. That's how awesome the pizza is. Get there early or order early because they WILL run out in a heartbeat, and then you'll be mad at yourself... or worse, in the doghouse with the family. Ouch. I didn't even mention the beers on tap or the staff -- but let's be real, if the pizza is hitting at this level, everything else is right there with it. Yellow Sun, keep doing what you're doing. I had been drinking, but I was completely coherent, able to communicate normally, and was not slurring my words, falling over, or behaving disorderly. Despite this, the bouncer immediately assumed I was too intoxicated to enter and refused me entry. What really bothered me was the way the situation was handled. The bouncer grabbed my arm and physically escorted me away from the entrance in a way that felt unnecessarily aggressive and humiliating. I understand that bouncers have a responsibility to make judgment calls about intoxication and safety and I have no issue with being denied entry if they genuinely believe someone is too intoxicated. There is, however, a respectful way to handle these situations. What made the experience even more upsetting was what he said to my friend afterward. He told him that they "don't allow people like her in here." I understand he may have been referring to my level of intoxication, but that wording was extremely inappropriate. As someone who is half Asian, I found the comment particularly concerning and it honestly felt discriminatory regardless of what his intent was. I left feeling extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed by the way I was treated. Being denied entry is one thing, being treated disrespectfully and spoken about in that way is another. Unfortunately based on this experience I would not feel comfortable returning.

It's a coffee shop during the day, serving coffee, espresso, and specialty frappes. They have some protein bars and snacks as well. It's a bar at night. They have drafts on tap, and a whole section of bottles and cans for you to explore. A lot of what they have I've never seen before so it's a pretty cool collection to try. The ambience is dope! Cool seating and furniture. It would be cool to meet up with friends at night and enjoy the atmosphere.

Great selection of…read morelocal beers both tap and a huge variety of beers to-go, both local and some beers from farther away (spotted some Lakefront Brewing from our old stomping grounds in Wisconsin!). The lady working was incredibly kind and helpful, and we had a nice chat with her while making our selections. This place is definitely our new go-to for beers to-go when we're visiting our family in Brevard. Hopefully next time we'll have more time and stay to enjoy a beer there in the taproom or on their patio.

We wandered to the outdoor space which is two levels, we explored the upstairs area first since there was a thunderstorm we thought it would be cool to watch the rain and lightning while sipping on a cold beer. We also learned there was a food trailer at the back of the property, which looks to be a permanent resident. They offer items such as pulled pork, poutine, brisket, and more. We ended up chatting with other customers and had a really enjoyable afternoon. We enjoyed our time at Black Mountain Brewing and will absolutely be back!
