We went there Saturday night 1-3-2026, ordered tips for hubby, and I ordered the same , but was brought out rib eye , which I told waitress it would be ok . the tips were so tough had to chew your self to death to eat them well my Rib eye was not eatable at all no amount of chewing could you eat that thing !!!!!!!! We are locals and absolutely LOVE the Mountain Holler. It is our go to spot for a great dinner at a very affordable price. It's a little out of the way but well worth the drive. Everything we have had from the Ribeye, Flounder, Filet to Chopped Steak have been excellent..... and the grilled shrimp is the best ever! Great salads with a good selection of other sides. Service has always been on the money. Nothing fancy but atmosphere is nice with a country mountain theme. Since restaurants in the area are limited unless you hit the more touristy locations and then pay inflated prices, this is truly a diamond in the rough. We are blessed. read more

We waited a bit to be seated but it was worth the wait. My rib eye was very good - simple but damn tasty. The baked potato was as expected, nothing more. The salad's main virtue was the generous application of bacon bits and egg. My wife had the black eyed pea and ham soup which she said reminded her of something from childhood. Her flounder was good, although it needed tartar sauce for a little more flavor. We finished with the peach cobbler which could have used more complexity in flavor and texture but was otherwise satisfying. Tonight was the first time I had tried Mountain Holler. I ordered filet mignon medium cooked and it came a little too rare but it was still a very tasty steak. My lady friend ordered the ribeye medium cooked and it was absolutely perfect. I tasted a bite and it was excellent too. I'm sure they would have put my steak back on the grill if I had asked them to but I never do that. I thought it was a very nice restaurant and I thought the people were nice and the food was very good. I'll go back for sure. It opens at 4:00 and I'd recommend going 15 min. early to get in line. If you don't you will have to wait - but it will be worth it. Darn good food and great service. We just moved to the area from Las Vegas, 4 months ago. Of course the food is extraordinary in Las Vegas. So I'm definitely not comparing the two locations because it would be like comparing apples to oranges. I'm sorry to say the good restaurants out here are "far"and few between. However that being said Mountain Holler holds its own as fine dining in a comfortable down home atmosphere. I only have one complaint, what is a great restaurant serving Margarine and not butter. To have a good bake potato and good rolls you need good butter. That won't stop me from coming there I'll just have to carry my own butter. read more

Overall this is a great place to have in Mitchell County. We have been a few times, and had mostly wonderful experiences. The service is consistently fantastic. From the initial contact with the hosts/hostesses through being seated, ordering, and the meal. Not once have I ever noticed even a minute issue in this aspect. The food itself is consistently good too. Nothing terribly "fancy," but none the less comes as advertised. We did have one incident where the menu didn't do a great job of describing an item, but this was the only time that's happened. It was a Cowboy Chicken app that was described as "grilled chicken breast, ranch dressing, melted cheese, and bacon bits." We were expecting pieces of chicken topped with the toppings; it turned out to be mostly Ranch with some piece of chicken, bacon, and cheese mixed in. There wasn't anything "wrong" with it, it just wasn't what we were expecting based on the description. Since we don't like Ranch all that much, we likely wouldn't have ordered if we knew it was a dip. But the steaks, seafood, and other appetizers are quite good. I enjoy the Seafood Trio when it's available, the salads are very nice and have some interesting ingredients, and the ribs are amazing. And the loaded cheese fries are spectacular. On the whole if you are considering eating at Mountain Holler, I would say it's worth the drive, and even the wait. read more

It was ok. Frankly I wouldn't rush to go back. I was overly enthusiastic when I saw a whole church group get off at 4 pm to eat there. The salad was interesting and dressing good, not really mixed greens though, mostly iceberg. After the waitress talked up the salmon they were out. The filet was ok. The outer part was over cooked although the center was medium. I had to keep salting it. My husband liked the ribs and said the soup was just ok. The service was fabulous! First timers, as we are moving to the area. Everyone's first recommendation and it did not disappoint. Had the 12 oz ribeye, and it had to be much larger, beautiful salad with house made dressing, and a top notch baked potato. Cooked to perfection, seasoned just right, and tender. My spouse had a Quesadilla and brought half of it home, due to the wonderful house made salsa and chips. Sweet tea has the perfect amount of sugar, and strawberry cheese cake to go. A $45.00 dollar meal, this steak in Charlotte (akin to Beef and Bottle Ribeye) would be $52.00 alone. This will be a staple once we live here full time. read more
